In this solo episode we talk about the major differences in therapy vs. coaching. Therapist and coaches tend to have a low key battle and I bring an important point up.....what if we can all just work together? I talk about the importance of staying within your scope staying in your own lane! We talk about how therapy includes red tape, ethics, and is a regulated field. We talk about what issues might be covered in therapy versus coaching. I also discuss how therapy isn't always for everyone and how it's not the end all be all in healing. I also chat about the ego trip sometimes therapists go on because we are so valued in society...and mental health is becoming more "mainstream." In this episode I chat with Aimie Duggan (she/her) all about our issues with the "feminine and masculine" language we often see in spirituality. Aimie is a coach and mystic who specializes in inclusive, decolonized wellness and spiritual care. Her approach is a "no BS spirituality," which I really resonate with. In this episode we chat about both of our understandings of what feminine and masculine energies are. We also discuss how this language can perpetuate harm to marginalized groups, such as the LGBTQ+ community. Aimie and I chat about how we don't have all the answers to how to approach this language, but that we know it doesn't resonate for us. There is an undeniable similarity between the patriarchal, sexist binaries used to harm people and what "feminine and masculine" means in spirituality. We discuss how spiritual practitioners can still work with these "energies" without perpetuating the harmful binaries. Where do we learn both implicit and explicit messages about our bodies? How does generational trauma impact our self-esteem and self-worth? Is it really our job to heal our ancestors wounds that have been passed to us? I get really deep and vulnerable in this podcast about my own personal experience with healing this wound annnnd also talk about dancing naked as a way to process these wounds?? Toward the ending I discuss why it is important to heal this specific generational wound and how we can live a deeper, more meaningful life within our bodies if we address it. In this episode I talk all about past life regression therapy and how it works. I talk about the process in which I help clients uncover past life memories through the subconscious mind. Past life regression is a form of hypnotherapy and the client is able to access information they usually can't during conscious awareness. I also discuss my 3 experiences during a PLR as a client, which are absolutely fascinating. I also discuss the differences between PLR practitioners and how everyone has a different style during the regression and the pros/cons of certain styles. Follow me for more about past life regression @morganthomascoaching and book your next PLR with me! As always, thank you so much for the support. In this episode I discuss what is bisexuality and how I discovered I was bisexual at age 26, which lead me to coming out to the world and openly dating a woman for the first time. I discuss how I struggled with internalized homophobia due to living in a small, conservative hometown and how even when I unlearned homophobia..I still struggled to accept myself. This internalized homophobia prevented me from fully accepting myself and often lead to gaslighting myself if "I was really queer." In this episode I also discuss pansexuality vs. bisexuality and my personal distinction of why I don't identify as pan. I touch briefly on religious trauma and the impact it had on my sexuality and dating experiences growing up. Tune into this juicy conversation as I open up about my sexuality and share my experience from feeling shame about who I am to feeling fully liberated!
