Well, the Media & Messaging Circle of Moneyless Society is plotting some ways out. As the voice and the first point of contact with our organization M&M seeks to inform and connect with our online community -- and now, encourage them to start taking more of their connection offline. As Moneyless Society grows we want to introduce you to more of our members and the ways we're working to build alternative systems in our communities. And with the upcoming U.S. general election, this insight from our dedicated volunteer, Mia Jacobson, couldn't be more timely.   As a longshoreman and member of a historic union herself, Mia understands how important it is for the boots on the ground to have a say in organizational decision-making. That's part of her reasoning for why elected representation is an outdated system of governance. In an age where almost everyone has access to technology that can inform them of what's going on, and allow them to engage with decision-making processes, there's no need to ask someone who doesn't know or understand them, to speak for them.   Tune in to hear what other approaches are possible, and how other parts of the world are already putting them into practice. Those words are from the website of our friend Shaun Chamberlin, a researcher, writer and activist continuing to carry the torch of giants like Michael Dowd, who brought us the "Post-Doom" philosophy. In this episode we let ourselves look at all the things we MIGHT NOT be able to accomplish in trying to save the world, and sit with what that means for our future. But realism is not pessimism, and seeing with clear eyes allows us to make this life meaningful, no matter where it leads.

This month, a group of core Moneyless Society volunteers met up in the scenic mountains of Kentucky to get a firsthand taste of self-sufficient living, discuss the future of the organization, and just generally revel in the company of comrades who have only been able to collaborate digitally for the past few years. During that time, we also recorded a podcast episode meant to introduce the world to a few of the hands helping build the coming transition, and to the larger community and mission making it possible. As buildings collapse on top of them, these two young men from Gaza are desperate to tell their story to the world, so that we will recognize and end the brutality their families are experiencing. It is the VERY SAME brutality that sweeps across African cobalt mines, American cop cities, and throughout history wherever there was land to steal and profit to squeeze from the people living there. Ramy is only 19, and was denied at the border when his family escaped, fleeing to find emergency surgery for his young sister. Sobhe is only 23, and his family was given 10 minutes to evacuate their home before it was bombed in front of them. Both have lost their dearest family members to shelling and stavation, and just want to be freed from this ongoing, hellish, and wholly undeserved punishment. Michael Dowd, the high priest of collapse, the prophet of (post) doom, and a good friend, passed away in his sleep last night. The world just lost one of its most vital human resources for navigating the unfolding & accelerating collapse that has really just begun. Michael was an amazing human being, the kindest doomer on earth, one of the most intelligent and knowledgeable people exploring the horrifying REALITY of ecological collapse, system failure, and the destructiveness of civilization itself--always with warmth, humor, and compassion. He was a beautiful soul, a good friend. People have said they're sorry for my loss-- I say it is humanity's loss, we lost our best guidance counselor helping us navigate through the complex emotional and societal landscape of a society in freefall, of inevitable, unstoppable, and perhaps sudden collapse. This is a conversation we recorded last summer, I was so nervous and intimidated approaching him, but he was so damn nice, an instant friend. A simple question with a profound answer that cuts into the exploitation, propaganda, and militant resistance to any change to the status quo: WHY aren't there more black anticapitalists? This is the question that prompted our guest Lawrence of @blackleftis to become an activist and soldier on the front lines of the meme wars, and to find the others in radical spaces that are all too often dominated by white voices. This question digs into the heart of exploitation, repression, propaganda, the cognitive dissonance that keeps people defending systems that oppress them.

Is global poverty improving, or getting worse? In this episode we explore the true reality of the horror of deprivation and mass death from a lack of the basic necessities or generic drugs to cure medieval diseases-- from a lack of money. Capitalist apologists claim poverty is decreasing, while the line is set at a measly $2 a day-- increase it by even 2 more and the number of people in extreme poverty explodes. 18 million people die every year, 20,000 CHILDREN every day, and 1 in 2 people lives on less than $5.50 a day. To explore this topic we brought on one of if not THE greatest expert on global poverty, professor Thomas Pogge to counter the establishment narrative that everything is getting better, and work to eradicate poverty as we know it through systemic change.

CAPITALISM IS THE VIRUS! This amped up dialogue with the one and only Ayesha Khan @WOKESCIENTIST dissects the total lack of health in capitalist society, bringing mental, physical, community and ecological health together to truly address the root cause of our social illness. We dip into covid conspiracies, talk about the ways mind and body are one, how we never had health to begin with, how the colonial system homogenized medicine globally, and the many ways that community and ecological relationships are the solution: the answers lie in peoples across the world reconnecting with their local and traditional lifeways and in creating true solidarity between peoples opposing the systems that keep them sick to sell them medicine in an endless feedback loop.
