HEEEEEEEEEEELP! Jeg har mistet overblikket over farvede vinyler, splatter-udgivelser, indstik og kassettebånd. McCartneys nye album, "The Boys Of Dungeon Lane", har taget pusten fra mig før udgivelsen den 29/5. Hvad gør man? "Long Long Road" sættes under en lille lup. Ligesom at vi taler om "Power To The People"-filmen.
We don't need Section Two of The Voting Rights Act anymore; but Dems worry that its passing might diminish their political power.

Join us on this week's TechTalk episode as Dr. Jay and Brad interview Dr. Kaitlan Baston.Dr. Kaitlan Baston is the Chief Executive Officer of Vinyl Health, an AI-driven health technology company redefining how people experience and navigate care. Vinyl is built on a simple but transformative idea: healthcare should make sense to the people living it. By capturing and translating clinical information into clear, personalized, and shareable insights, Vinyl helps patients and families understand what is happening, what to do next, and how to stay aligned across providers. This closes one of the most persistent gaps in modern healthcare. Dr. Baston brings a rare combination of frontline clinical experience, executive health system leadership, and public policy expertise to this work. Most recently, she served as Commissioner of the New Jersey Department of Health from August 2023 to May 2025 under Governor Phil Murphy. During her tenure, she led efforts to address the social, environmental, and economic drivers of health, with a focus on reducing disparities, improving maternal and child health outcomes, and advancing integrated models of physical, behavioral, and mental healthcare. She also spearheaded landmark regulatory reform, creating a single, integrated license for outpatient healthcare facilities and unlocking innovation that had been stalled for over a decade. Prior to her role as Commissioner, Dr. Baston served as President and CEO of University Hospital in Newark, a major urban academic medical center and Level 1 trauma center. There, she led a period of transformation focused on access, quality, and community partnership. Earlier in her career, she founded and led the Cooper Center for Healing, an innovative program integrating pain management, addiction treatment, and behavioral health, well ahead of broader system adoption of integrated care models. Dr. Baston began her career as a full-spectrum family physician committed to underserved communities. Her clinical and public health work has spanned international and community-based settings, including public health initiatives in Rwanda, hospital-based care in the Dominican Republic, and bilingual community health services in Seattle. Across every chapter of her career, Dr. Baston has been driven by a consistent belief: the United States does not lack clinical expertise or innovation; it struggles with misaligned incentives, fragmentation, and a level of complexity that makes it difficult for people to understand and act on their own care. She has long believed she could not simply work within that system without actively working to improve it. With Vinyl Health, she is building toward a different model. One where information is clear, care is connected, and people are able to participate fully in their own health. She is energized to do this alongside a team of deeply committed, like-minded individuals focused on making healthcare work better for the people it is meant to serve. To connect with Kaitlan, visit her website at vinylhealth.ai, her email at kaitlan.baston@vinylhealth.ai or on her LinkedIn at kaitlan-baston.
This compelling address explores leadership, democracy, and the urgent need for electoral reform in South Africa. Drawing on personal experiences in government and constitutional development, the speaker highlights the growing disconnect between citizens and political representatives. Through powerful stories and reflections, he advocates for a system that empowers individuals to directly elect accountable leaders. Emphasising that one person can make a difference, the talk calls for active civic participation and structural change to restore trust, strengthen democracy, and return power to the people. Host Ron Steslow welcomes Mike Brock, CEO of TBD, a subsidiary of Block Inc. (formerly Square), the financial technology firm led by Twitter founder Jack Dorsey. The Internet is dominated by massive, corporate walled gardens like Google, Facebook, and Twitter (now X), where centralized control makes their users (us!) vulnerable to censorship and manipulation. In this episode, we explore how the movement to decentralize technology empowers individuals, protects against corporate and government abuse, and addresses real problems in finance and social media. We'll also discuss how decentralized technology can enhance financial access and freedom, bypassing intermediaries and censorship, and shifting power from financial corporations to individuals. Finally, we turn to the political landscape, focusing on the Democratic party's approach to decentralized technology and early signs it may be changing. Segments to look forward to: (04:45) Mike's background (10:50) Empowering individuals through decentralized finance and identity (15:45) Building infrastructure for a decentralized future (19:10) The potential of decentralized identity (29:49) The importance of Bitcoin's decentralization (31:31) Financial Access and Freedom (34:27) Preserving agency (44:44) Changing the balance of power (50:54) The varied stance of the Democratic party Follow Ron and Mike on X (formerly Twitter): https://twitter.com/RonSteslow https://x.com/brockm Email your questions to podcast@politicology.com or leave us a voicemail at (202) 455-4558 Learn more about your ad choices. Lithium ion batteries power our everyday lives and are at the heart of the green electric revolution. But there's a very dirty story behind the clean image - the minerals and rare earths that go into making our phone and EV batteries are as geopolitically important as oil once was. Journalist Nicolas Niarchos' The Elements of Power starkly outlines the ravaging cost to the people and the environment where they're mined, and the global machinations by superpowers including China and the USA as they vye for world dominance. Nicolas Niarchos tells Susie extractive capitalism and its supply chain wreaks havoc across the globe, not least on the messy reality of a greener future.

John Kosh in conversation with David Eastaugh https://koshdesign.com/ Kosh is a Multi-Grammy award winning art director and former creative director for Apple Records. In the mid-sixties, he was designer for The Royal Ballet and The Royal Opera House, where he produced a gold foil covered program for the anniversary Royal Gala attended by her Royal Majesty, Queen Elizabeth II. At the age of 22, Kosh was responsible for designing the innovative entry portal to the “Young & Fantastic” avant garde art and sculpture exhibition on The Mall in London's West End. Following his work for The Opera House, he met John Lennon and Yoko Ono in 1968 as they had admired his work as art director of Art & Artists magazine. They invited him to meet them one evening at Hammersmith Hospital, where Yoko was recuperating. Shortly thereafter they offered him a desk at Apple Records at 3 Saville Row. His first project was the “War Is Over (if you want it)” Christmas card, which led to the worldwide WAR IS OVER billboard campaign that continues to this day. He designed The Beatles' Get Back picture book with the Let It Be album package, the Abbey Road album cover, John & Yoko's elaborate Wedding Album box set, and Hey Jude. Kosh was one of the few attendees at the Beatles' farewell rooftop concert. While working for Apple Records, he designed Mary Hopkin's Postcard, Billy Preston's That's The Way God Planned It, George Harrison's Radha Krisna Temple and The Plastic Ono Band's, Life With The Lions, plus singles, “Give Peace a Chance”, “Instant Karma”, “Cold Turkey” and “Power To The People.”

Hale's parents suggested this two years ago and this report appears to confirm that. The Tennessee Star reports: Latest FBI Release of Covenant School Manifesto Files Appears to Confirm Trans-Identified Killer Bought Guns with Pell Grant Money The FBI on Monday released another 230 manifesto pages written by Audrey Elizabeth Hale, the biological female who identified as a transgender man on March 27, 2023, when the 28-year-old killed six at the Covenant School in Nashville, the Christian elementary school she once attended. This latest journal appears to have been written sometime in late 2021, and includes lengthy sections about the weapons the killer planned to use to commit a mass shooting at a school sometime that year. Following multiple pages full of weapons to purchase, the journal includes a page labeled “Account Savings Record,” which appears to reference the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA). It also records multiple payments received from Nossi during the period when Hale attended the Nossi College of Art and Design in Nashville. “FASFA [sic] grant checks started at $2,050.86,” wrote Hale at the top of the entry. The page then lists a series of apparent ledger entries, starting with, “$2,656.87 (x3 checks from Nossi).” The next ledger entry states, “+$530.00 (x1 check Nossi) ($3,186.87).” This reference to Hale's federal student aid, located in the writings next to her entries about guns she considered buying, appears to corroborate the claims made by her parents to Metro Nashville Police Department (MNPD) detectives in 2023, when they told law enforcement their child purchased the firearms using federal Pell Grant money. Protests Erupt Across Iran As Angry People Flood Streets The mullahs have ruled in Iran since 1979. So you had millions that went to helping to prop up the terrorist state. But the Iranians are a persistent people, it would appear, especially when you hurt them in their wallets and make it challenging to survive. We’re at another one of those moments in history where hope has sparked again in the country, and people are in the streets, calling for change. Nationwide strikes and protests by merchants continued across Iran, with shops shuttered in major commercial hubs including Tehran's Grand Bazaar, Lalehzar Street, Naser Khosrow and Istanbul Square. Demonstrators chanted anti-government slogans calling for the downfall of the ruling clerics and demanding the leadership step aside. Video circulating online showed protesters inside a major shopping complex in Tehran's Grand Bazaar chanting, “Have no fear, we are all together,” while hurling insults at security forces and calling them shameless. Cyber attacks ‘tipping point' warning issued after Harrods and M&S targeted Cyber attacks surged into prominence in 2025, inflicting significant financial damage on major British businesses and exposing widespread vulnerabilities across the economy. High-profile targets included automotive giant Jaguar Land Rover, retail stalwart Marks & Spencer, and luxury department store Harrods, underscoring how firms of all sizes are susceptible to sophisticated digital threats. Andrew Bailey, governor of the Bank of England, articulated his belief that cyber attacks represent one of the most substantial threats to UK financial stability, stressing the “critically important” need for collaborative defence. He stated: “Cyber attacks are far from new, but 2025 has shown just how deeply cyber risk is intertwined with economic stability and business continuity.” Source: uk.news.yahoo.com President Trump Responds to the 91-Drone Attack on Putin's Residence in Novgorod region During an impromptu press availability beside Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, President Trump responded to a question about a drone attack against the personal residence of Russian President Vladimir Putin. Ukraine President Volodymyr Zelenskyy has denied the accusation that Ukraine carried out this particular attack. The attack took place while Zelenskyy was in Florida meeting with President Trump. Medical/False Flags [DS] Agenda Soros family reportedly donated more than $71,000 to Letitia James campaigns Leftist billionaire George Soros and members of his family have donated more than $71,000 to political campaigns supporting New York Democratic Attorney General Letitia James since 2019, according to a report published Sunday by the New York Post. The report, citing campaign finance records, said the total includes $31,000 contributed toward James' 2026 reelection bid. Soros personally donated $18,000 in July 2024, while his daughter-in-law, Jennifer Soros, contributed $13,000 in May. With earlier donations included, Soros and his family have provided James with roughly $40,000 more since 2019, the Post reported. I wanted to share some info with you that you might find interesting. I was trained by U.S. Military people off the books starting in college. I have been on projects since that time in Eastern Europe, North America, the Middle East, and Africa. All in the line of duty what I thought was right and in the best interest of the United States. Recently I was approached about a project that Tim Walz wanted done, and Keith [unclear] was also aware of the project. Tim wanted me to kill Amy Klobuchar and Tina [unclear]. Tim wants to be a senator and he doesn't trust [unclear] to retire as planned and this is meant to stay in the last mile with Amy & [unclear] gone. Tim would get one of the open senate seats, and [unclear] was to be VP, and Keith Ellison would be rewarded with a lucrative governing position. I told Tim I wanted nothing to do with it and that I didn't call off that plan I would go public. He said he would call it off himself if I didn't play ball. Then he set up a meeting with me and [unclear] and [unclear] to take care of me when I refused. They had some people waiting to kill me. I was able to get away by God's mercy. So I went back a short time later and shot back at [unclear]. You should notice how I didn't fire me rounds at any police officers and by God I have plenty of opportunity. Ask for the report on how many weapons and ammunition I had with me. Cops were pulling up right next to me in unmarked vehicles and I had an AK pistol across my lap. And I could have left a pile of cops dead but I did not. Short burst towards law enforcement. You can ask them. Because I snapped the police and chose not to see them hurt. But it may end up my wife and kids next time. I won't give them a pass. If you think I'm making this up just get on the phone and tell Tim you have a few questions for him. Then ask Tim Walz if he knows me and see what he says? If he says he doesn't know me, or never met me, look in the files and you will see that Tim personally approved me to be on his Governor's workforce. Bridges are the business representatives. He is probably trying to destroy that note but it is public record. Then ask Tim Walz why they kept the shots silent from the media when they first happened. Not a word in the press and I. Why? They needed to get their stories figured out. So everyone was on the same page about what happened. Tim is probably crapping bricks right now because I'm still at large and he knows what I can disclose and that I know about all the buried skeletons are. So I will be shot on sight you can bet on that. If you want me to turn myself in it need to be directly to you and then I need to be held at a military prison or in the Middle East, or at least on a ship. These guys have military backgrounds and can get to anybody. I am willing to spill all the beans. I just want my family safe. They had nothing to do with this and are totally innocent. One voice per 700,000 people. The founders envisioned one per 30,000. That ratio was frozen in 1929, locked by the Permanent Apportionment Act, ensuring the number would remain manageable. Manageable for whom? One hundred senators. 535 total legislators controlling the direction of the largest economy in human history. You do not need to purchase a nation. You purchase 535 people. Or fewer. Buy the committee chairs. Fewer still. Buy the leadership. A few dozen individuals, properly leveraged through money or blackmail (it's actually both), steer everything. The bottleneck is artificial. Engineered for efficient capture. The Federal Reserve arrived in 1913, transferring monetary sovereignty from the people to a private banking cartel. That same year, the 17th Amendment removed state legislatures from Senate appointments, severing the balance between federal and state power. The intelligence apparatus emerged after World War II as a parallel government operating beyond electoral accountability. The administrative state metastasized into an unelected fourth branch writing rules with the force of law. Layer upon layer. Each generation inherits chains from contracts they never signed, bound by compromises made long before their birth. Yes, the Founding Fathers intended for the House of Representatives to expand as the population grew. The U.S. Constitution’s Article I, Section 2 established an initial apportionment ratio of no more than one representative per 30,000 inhabitants (with each state guaranteed at least one), implying that the total number would increase based on census results every ten years. the framers expected regular adjustments to maintain proportional representation as the nation expanded. James Madison, in Federalist No. 58, directly addressed concerns that the House might not grow, arguing that the Constitution’s mechanisms—such as decennial reapportionments—would “augment the number of representatives” over time, and that political incentives (e.g., larger states pushing for increases) would ensure it happened. This intent is further supported by the proposed (but unratified) Congressional Apportionment Amendment from the original Bill of Rights, which aimed to set a formula preventing the House from becoming too small relative to the population. However, the House was permanently capped at 435 members by the Apportionment Act of 1929, diverging from this original vision. https://twitter.com/CynicalPublius/status/2005740095979069669?s=20 attempt instead chase smaller game, run interference, attack each other, send you down rabbit holes, and offer limited hangouts that lead nowhere. The silence is bipartisan. The silence is the tell. If your enemy acts and your ally does nothing despite holding every lever of power, you do not have two sides. WAIT… THERE'S MORE… https://twitter.com/WarClandestine/status/2005729994782466232?s=20 our walls, with Antifa and radical Islamic terrorist groups still at large, without Trump's people in position, without the public being informed of the treasonous conspiracy, without the wars around the globe being settled, without rogue Deep State elements like Iran's nuclear capabilities being shut down, all while the public are extremely emotionally charged after the election cycle and have been repeatedly brainwashed to believe that Trump is Hitler about to unleash a military dictatorship… There's levels to this shit. Many variables must be accounted for and many pieces must be in place before we can do something of this magnitude. But if you've been paying attention, you'd see that much of these things have already been taken care of over Trump's first year. I'm more optimistic than I've ever been, and frankly I don't understand how people don't see what Trump is doing. The price to pay for striking early, could result in mass civilian casualties, the entire operation will be ruined, the Republic will fall to the Deep State, and all of us will be tax/labor slaves forever. We can't afford to miss. Everything must be perfect, and Trump is putting the pieces into place to make it happen. As you may have heard, solar energy is having a moment. Thanks to several technological breakthroughs, it's now the cheapest form of energy generation in most places on Earth. This past summer, for the first time ever, it became the EU's main source of electricity, and many other parts of the world — Pakistan, Nigeria and most famously, China — are likewise in the midst of a solar boom of astonishing speed and scale. In this episode, experts weigh in on the social, political and economic implications of this revolutionary energy shift — and the complicated way that Canada fits into it all.Featured in this episode:Sara Hastings-Simon is an associate professor in the department of Earth, Energy and Environment and an assistant professor in the School of Public Policy. Her work focuses on understanding how low-carbon energy transitions happen within different sectors of the economy, constrained by existing infrastructure and business models, and how policy response can improve outcomes. In this episode of A People's Climate, host Shilpi Chhotray sits down with Elizabeth Yeampierre, veteran organizer and executive director of UPROSE, Brooklyn's oldest Latino community-based organization, to explore how frontline communities are taking climate action into their own hands. In a capitalist world that prioritizes bigger, faster, and more, Elizabeth's work takes a different path. Small, hyper-local solutions like a community-owned solar grid have huge impacts. Residents of Brooklyn's Sunset Park, where UPROSE focuses its work, are seeing lower energy costs, good green jobs, and local ownership. All while creating a blueprint for other communities to follow.Elizabeth also takes us beyond the buzzwords of “green economy" and “clean energy” to show what a Just Transition really looks like. Mainstream environmental efforts often focus on the end goal: shifting to renewable energy. But they fail to ask “at what cost and to whom?” Elizabeth's work ensures community members aren't left behind. This episode is a masterclass in how grassroots power can transition us to a just future.Key TopicsA Just Transition: Shifting to renewable energy while protecting workers and communities historically harmed by pollutionThe community-led renewable energy Grid ProjectResisting extractive economies and reclaiming industrial spaces without displacement or gentrification. The importance of building an intergenerational movementHow Trump-era policies have dismantled climate protections and undermined renewable energy incentivesHow disaster capitalism exploits crises and how community-led responses offer real solutionsResourcesUPROSEThe GRID Sunset Park SolarA new solar project in Brooklyn could offer a model for climate justiceUS Spending On Climate Damage Nears $1 Trillion Per YearThe Shock Doctrine (Naomi Klein)Our Sponsors:* Check out Avocado Green Mattress: https://avocadogreenmattress.com* Check out BetterHelp: https://betterhelp.com/THENATIONAdvertising Inquiries: https://redcircle.com/brandsPrivacy & Opt-Out: https://redcircle.com/privacy

We are back after a hiatus to discuss the new release of the "One to One" concert from 1972 featuring John Lennon, Yoko Ono, and Elephant's Memory. This concert appears in a beautifully remixed version that substantially improves over the 1986 John Lennon: Live in New York City release. But how does the concert hold up all these years later, and what about the set list, performances, and political messaging? We dig into all of it! Because only the concert was available on streaming (as of the time of recording), we do not discuss the other parts of the Power to the People box set, but we plan to do that as discs get released over the next few months. The fake news is now building the narrative that Trump has caused a recession. It has begun. Trump has trapped the [DS]/[CB] in the tariff money, he will use it to push the reversal of the impoundment act of 1974. Trump is now setting the stage. He putting all the pieces in place. He is moving the NG into position, he is building the narrative for the insurrection so the people understand what is about to happen. Comey is now isolated, in the game of chess you isolate the knight, the pressure is now on Comey. Trump has the leverage and the people are with him, the polls show this. Economy EU proposes 50% steel tariffs to counter Trump The European Commission has proposed a 50% tariff on steel imports above an annual quota, claiming the move will protect the EU's metals industry from international competition and US duties. An agreement struck earlier this year by EC President Ursula von der Leyen and US President Donald Trump, viewed in the EU as lopsided, set a baseline 15% US tariff on most exports from the bloc, but left steel and aluminum at 50%. Source: rt.com Steel-using sectors like automotive, construction, and appliances—consuming millions of tonnes annually—face rising input prices, potentially adding to production costs and consumer inflation. The European Automobile Manufacturers' Association (ACEA) has warned the measures "go too far," risking competitiveness in global markets. Diverted cheap steel could flood unprotected markets, but within the EU, it may lead to shortages or imbalances if quotas are exhausted quickly. This protectionism could spark retaliatory tariffs, fracturing global trade and harming EU exporters. Analyses suggest short-term gains for steel (e.g., price floors) are outweighed by long-term damage, including higher overall prices and reduced efficiency in integrated value chains. Emerging markets might see surplus dumping, indirectly pressuring EU trade partners. the tariffs are likely to hurt parts of the EU economy—particularly downstream industries through higher costs and potential inflation—but they could provide a net benefit to the steel sector by saving jobs and enabling sustainability investments. The Trump recession may already be upon us A Trump recession is reportedly already crashing down on many American families, and Republicans have only themselves to blame. Twenty-two states and Washington, D.C., are experiencing recessions, while another 13 states are flashing serious economic warning signs, according to an estimate from economic research firm Moody's. Moody's finds that both red and blue states are being dragged into these poor economic circumstances, but those two groups won't hurt equally. Contracting red states, like Iowa and West Virginia, are already struggling to overcome the hangover effects of Trump's sweeping cuts to federal services. Those states are now more vulnerable to sudden spikes in community need, such as for food assistance, which Trump's government slashed. As the United States careens toward a recession that Republicans swear isn't real, it will be the nation's low-income and working families who bear the brunt. If the economic situation continues degrading across the Great Plains and the Rust Belt, the GOP may soon find they have more than blue states' “soft secession” to worry about.
