John Kosh in conversation with David Eastaugh https://koshdesign.com/ Kosh is a Multi-Grammy award winning art director and former creative director for Apple Records. In the mid-sixties, he was designer for The Royal Ballet and The Royal Opera House, where he produced a gold foil covered program for the anniversary Royal Gala attended by her Royal Majesty, Queen Elizabeth II. At the age of 22, Kosh was responsible for designing the innovative entry portal to the “Young & Fantastic” avant garde art and sculpture exhibition on The Mall in London's West End. Following his work for The Opera House, he met John Lennon and Yoko Ono in 1968 as they had admired his work as art director of Art & Artists magazine. They invited him to meet them one evening at Hammersmith Hospital, where Yoko was recuperating. Shortly thereafter they offered him a desk at Apple Records at 3 Saville Row. His first project was the “War Is Over (if you want it)” Christmas card, which led to the worldwide WAR IS OVER billboard campaign that continues to this day. He designed The Beatles' Get Back picture book with the Let It Be album package, the Abbey Road album cover, John & Yoko's elaborate Wedding Album box set, and Hey Jude. Kosh was one of the few attendees at the Beatles' farewell rooftop concert. While working for Apple Records, he designed Mary Hopkin's Postcard, Billy Preston's That's The Way God Planned It, George Harrison's Radha Krisna Temple and The Plastic Ono Band's, Life With The Lions, plus singles, “Give Peace a Chance”, “Instant Karma”, “Cold Turkey” and “Power To The People.”

Yes, discovery could occur—if the case advances past initial hurdles. This would allow Trump’s side to subpoena Fed documents, emails, financial records, and testimony related to the renovations. This could effectively let them “look into” specific aspects of what the Fed has been doing, such as budgeting, contracting, and project management for the HQ overhaul. Discovery rules under the Federal Rules of Civil Procedure are broad, potentially uncovering internal Fed communications or decisions tied to the alleged incompetence. Trump could request a GAO investigation into the HQ project overruns. Hale's parents suggested this two years ago and this report appears to confirm that. The Tennessee Star reports: Latest FBI Release of Covenant School Manifesto Files Appears to Confirm Trans-Identified Killer Bought Guns with Pell Grant Money The FBI on Monday released another 230 manifesto pages written by Audrey Elizabeth Hale, the biological female who identified as a transgender man on March 27, 2023, when the 28-year-old killed six at the Covenant School in Nashville, the Christian elementary school she once attended. This latest journal appears to have been written sometime in late 2021, and includes lengthy sections about the weapons the killer planned to use to commit a mass shooting at a school sometime that year. Following multiple pages full of weapons to purchase, the journal includes a page labeled “Account Savings Record,” which appears to reference the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA). It also records multiple payments received from Nossi during the period when Hale attended the Nossi College of Art and Design in Nashville. “FASFA [sic] grant checks started at $2,050.86,” wrote Hale at the top of the entry. The page then lists a series of apparent ledger entries, starting with, “$2,656.87 (x3 checks from Nossi).” The next ledger entry states, “+$530.00 (x1 check Nossi) ($3,186.87).” This reference to Hale's federal student aid, located in the writings next to her entries about guns she considered buying, appears to corroborate the claims made by her parents to Metro Nashville Police Department (MNPD) detectives in 2023, when they told law enforcement their child purchased the firearms using federal Pell Grant money. The report, citing campaign finance records, said the total includes $31,000 contributed toward James' 2026 reelection bid. Soros personally donated $18,000 in July 2024, while his daughter-in-law, Jennifer Soros, contributed $13,000 in May. I wanted to share some info with you that you might find interesting. I was trained by U.S. Military people off the books starting in college. I have been on projects since that time in Eastern Europe, North America, the Middle East, and Africa. All in the line of duty what I thought was right and in the best interest of the United States. Recently I was approached about a project that Tim Walz wanted done, and Keith [unclear] was also aware of the project. Tim wanted me to kill Amy Klobuchar and Tina [unclear]. Tim wants to be a senator and he doesn't trust [unclear] to retire as planned and this is meant to stay in the last mile with Amy & [unclear] gone. Tim would get one of the open senate seats, and [unclear] was to be VP, and Keith Ellison would be rewarded with a lucrative governing position. I told Tim I wanted nothing to do with it and that I didn't call off that plan I would go public. He said he would call it off himself if I didn't play ball. Then he set up a meeting with me and [unclear] and [unclear] to take care of me when I refused. They had some people waiting to kill me. I was able to get away by God's mercy. So I went back a short time later and shot back at [unclear]. You should notice how I didn't fire me rounds at any police officers and by God I have plenty of opportunity. Ask for the report on how many weapons and ammunition I had with me. Cops were pulling up right next to me in unmarked vehicles and I had an AK pistol across my lap. And I could have left a pile of cops dead but I did not. Short burst towards law enforcement. You can ask them. Because I snapped the police and chose not to see them hurt. But it may end up my wife and kids next time. I won't give them a pass. If you think I'm making this up just get on the phone and tell Tim you have a few questions for him. Then ask Tim Walz if he knows me and see what he says? If he says he doesn't know me, or never met me, look in the files and you will see that Tim personally approved me to be on his Governor's workforce. Bridges are the business representatives. He is probably trying to destroy that note but it is public record. Then ask Tim Walz why they kept the shots silent from the media when they first happened. Not a word in the press and I. Why? They needed to get their stories figured out. So everyone was on the same page about what happened. Tim is probably crapping bricks right now because I'm still at large and he knows what I can disclose and that I know about all the buried skeletons are. So I will be shot on sight you can bet on that. If you want me to turn myself in it need to be directly to you and then I need to be held at a military prison or in the Middle East, or at least on a ship. One voice per 700,000 people. The founders envisioned one per 30,000. That ratio was frozen in 1929, locked by the Permanent Apportionment Act, ensuring the number would remain manageable. Manageable for whom? One hundred senators. 535 total legislators controlling the direction of the largest economy in human history. You do not need to purchase a nation. You purchase 535 people. Or fewer. Buy the committee chairs. Fewer still. Buy the leadership. A few dozen individuals, properly leveraged through money or blackmail (it's actually both), steer everything. The bottleneck is artificial. Engineered for efficient capture. The Federal Reserve arrived in 1913, transferring monetary sovereignty from the people to a private banking cartel. That same year, the 17th Amendment removed state legislatures from Senate appointments, severing the balance between federal and state power. The intelligence apparatus emerged after World War II as a parallel government operating beyond electoral accountability. The administrative state metastasized into an unelected fourth branch writing rules with the force of law. Layer upon layer. Each generation inherits chains from contracts they never signed, bound by compromises made long before their birth. Yes, the Founding Fathers intended for the House of Representatives to expand as the population grew. The U.S. Constitution’s Article I, Section 2 established an initial apportionment ratio of no more than one representative per 30,000 inhabitants (with each state guaranteed at least one), implying that the total number would increase based on census results every ten years. the framers expected regular adjustments to maintain proportional representation as the nation expanded. James Madison, in Federalist No. 58, directly addressed concerns that the House might not grow, arguing that the Constitution’s mechanisms—such as decennial reapportionments—would “augment the number of representatives” over time, and that political incentives (e.g., larger states pushing for increases) would ensure it happened. This intent is further supported by the proposed (but unratified) Congressional Apportionment Amendment from the original Bill of Rights, which aimed to set a formula preventing the House from becoming too small relative to the population. However, the House was permanently capped at 435 members by the Apportionment Act of 1929, diverging from this original vision. https://twitter.com/CynicalPublius/status/2005740095979069669?s=20 attempt instead chase smaller game, run interference, attack each other, send you down rabbit holes, and offer limited hangouts that lead nowhere. Many variables must be accounted for and many pieces must be in place before we can do something of this magnitude. But if you've been paying attention, you'd see that much of these things have already been taken care of over Trump's first year. I'm more optimistic than I've ever been, and frankly I don't understand how people don't see what Trump is doing. The price to pay for striking early, could result in mass civilian casualties, the entire operation will be ruined, the Republic will fall to the Deep State, and all of us will be tax/labor slaves forever. We can't afford to miss. Everything must be perfect, and Trump is putting the pieces into place to make it happen. In this episode of the 2Tokens Podcast, hosts Jos Röling and Alex Bausch welcome long-time contributor of the Energy Working Group: Edgar Kampers, co-founder of Hypha Energy. This episode is a lively conversation about the future of renewable energy communities in Europe.Together they have an honest and energetic exploration of why building these communities is so challenging today and why the timing for a new approach has never been better. Edgar explains how Hypha's tokenized, DAO-inspired system can cut administrative burdens by more than 90%, simplify ownership and decision-making, and help residents meaningfully participate in their local energy future, without needing deep technical knowledge or endless community meetings.Jos and Alex push the conversation into the practical realities: how do you actually motivate people to engage with energy data they don't care about? Can tokens really change consumer behavior? How do decentralized communities coexist with the massive DSOs that still control Europe's energy infrastructure? Edgar shares his vision for community-driven ownership, blended financing models, and the social value of producing and consuming energy locally. The episode also looks ahead at Hypha Energy's first pilots in Portugal, upcoming deployments in Norway, the Netherlands, and Poland, and the crucial role of partners already embedded in local ecosystems: municipalities, housing associations, consultants, and organizations like 2Tokens.If you're curious about the intersection of tokenization, decentralization, and the future of local energy, this episode is absolutely worth a listen.Participants:Alex Bausch: https://www.linkedin.com/in/alexbausch/Jos Röling: https://www.linkedin.com/in/josroling/Edgar Kampers: https://www.linkedin.com/in/edgarkampers/Learn more about Hypha Energy: www.hypha.energySend us a textDo you want to join one of the use cases? As you may have heard, solar energy is having a moment. Thanks to several technological breakthroughs, it's now the cheapest form of energy generation in most places on Earth. This past summer, for the first time ever, it became the EU's main source of electricity, and many other parts of the world — Pakistan, Nigeria and most famously, China — are likewise in the midst of a solar boom of astonishing speed and scale. In this episode, experts weigh in on the social, political and economic implications of this revolutionary energy shift — and the complicated way that Canada fits into it all.Featured in this episode:Sara Hastings-Simon is an associate professor in the department of Earth, Energy and Environment and an assistant professor in the School of Public Policy. Her work focuses on understanding how low-carbon energy transitions happen within different sectors of the economy, constrained by existing infrastructure and business models, and how policy response can improve outcomes. She also hosts, alongside David Keith and Ed Whittingham, the live webinar and podcast Energy vs Climate.Mike Andrade is the chairman and CEO of Morgan Solar, a Toronto company whose products improve the performance of solar projects and the energy efficiency of buildings. A former executive at IBM and a founding member of Celestica, he's also an investor and advisor to several other companies, a member of the Council of Canadian Innovators and a board member of the Next Generation Manufacturing Supercluster.Chris Caners is general manager at SolarShare, a renewable energy co-op in Ontario. He's also a consultant who advises organizations on climate, energy efficiency and sustainability.Thomas Timmins leads the Canadian energy sector practice at Gowling WLG in Toronto. He specializes in helping clients navigate opportunities in the global energy transition.Deb Chachra is a professor of engineering at Olin College and the author of How Infrastructure Works: Inside the Systems That Shape our World. From masked agents at schools and grocery stores to small businesses forced to close their doors, this episode is a real look at what happens when due process disappears, and why we all need to care. True power lies in standing together. Kristen Stegall is the CEO of Novice Studios, a full-service video production agency based in Charlotte, NC that helps creators show up powerfully and authentically on camera and on mic. In this episode of A People's Climate, host Shilpi Chhotray sits down with Elizabeth Yeampierre, veteran organizer and executive director of UPROSE, Brooklyn's oldest Latino community-based organization, to explore how frontline communities are taking climate action into their own hands. In a capitalist world that prioritizes bigger, faster, and more, Elizabeth's work takes a different path. Small, hyper-local solutions like a community-owned solar grid have huge impacts. Residents of Brooklyn's Sunset Park, where UPROSE focuses its work, are seeing lower energy costs, good green jobs, and local ownership. All while creating a blueprint for other communities to follow.Elizabeth also takes us beyond the buzzwords of “green economy" and “clean energy” to show what a Just Transition really looks like. Mainstream environmental efforts often focus on the end goal: shifting to renewable energy. But they fail to ask “at what cost and to whom?” Elizabeth's work ensures community members aren't left behind. This episode is a masterclass in how grassroots power can transition us to a just future.Key TopicsA Just Transition: Shifting to renewable energy while protecting workers and communities historically harmed by pollutionThe community-led renewable energy Grid ProjectResisting extractive economies and reclaiming industrial spaces without displacement or gentrification. The importance of building an intergenerational movementHow Trump-era policies have dismantled climate protections and undermined renewable energy incentivesHow disaster capitalism exploits crises and how community-led responses offer real solutionsResourcesUPROSEThe GRID Sunset Park SolarA new solar project in Brooklyn could offer a model for climate justiceUS Spending On Climate Damage Nears $1 Trillion Per YearThe Shock Doctrine (Naomi Klein)Our Sponsors:* Check out Avocado Green Mattress: https://avocadogreenmattress.com* Check out BetterHelp: https://betterhelp.com/THENATIONAdvertising Inquiries: https://redcircle.com/brandsPrivacy & Opt-Out: https://redcircle.com/privacy

We are back after a hiatus to discuss the new release of the "One to One" concert from 1972 featuring John Lennon, Yoko Ono, and Elephant's Memory. This concert appears in a beautifully remixed version that substantially improves over the 1986 John Lennon: Live in New York City release. But how does the concert hold up all these years later, and what about the set list, performances, and political messaging? We dig into all of it! Because only the concert was available on streaming (as of the time of recording), we do not discuss the other parts of the Power to the People box set, but we plan to do that as discs get released over the next few months. The fake news is now building the narrative that Trump has caused a recession. It has begun. Trump has trapped the [DS]/[CB] in the tariff money, he will use it to push the reversal of the impoundment act of 1974. Trump is now setting the stage. He putting all the pieces in place. He is moving the NG into position, he is building the narrative for the insurrection so the people understand what is about to happen. Comey is now isolated, in the game of chess you isolate the knight, the pressure is now on Comey. Trump has the leverage and the people are with him, the polls show this. Economy EU proposes 50% steel tariffs to counter Trump The European Commission has proposed a 50% tariff on steel imports above an annual quota, claiming the move will protect the EU's metals industry from international competition and US duties. An agreement struck earlier this year by EC President Ursula von der Leyen and US President Donald Trump, viewed in the EU as lopsided, set a baseline 15% US tariff on most exports from the bloc, but left steel and aluminum at 50%. Source: rt.com Steel-using sectors like automotive, construction, and appliances—consuming millions of tonnes annually—face rising input prices, potentially adding to production costs and consumer inflation. The European Automobile Manufacturers' Association (ACEA) has warned the measures "go too far," risking competitiveness in global markets. Diverted cheap steel could flood unprotected markets, but within the EU, it may lead to shortages or imbalances if quotas are exhausted quickly. This protectionism could spark retaliatory tariffs, fracturing global trade and harming EU exporters. Analyses suggest short-term gains for steel (e.g., price floors) are outweighed by long-term damage, including higher overall prices and reduced efficiency in integrated value chains. Emerging markets might see surplus dumping, indirectly pressuring EU trade partners. the tariffs are likely to hurt parts of the EU economy—particularly downstream industries through higher costs and potential inflation—but they could provide a net benefit to the steel sector by saving jobs and enabling sustainability investments. The Trump recession may already be upon us A Trump recession is reportedly already crashing down on many American families, and Republicans have only themselves to blame. Twenty-two states and Washington, D.C., are experiencing recessions, while another 13 states are flashing serious economic warning signs, according to an estimate from economic research firm Moody's. Moody's finds that both red and blue states are being dragged into these poor economic circumstances, but those two groups won't hurt equally. Contracting red states, like Iowa and West Virginia, are already struggling to overcome the hangover effects of Trump's sweeping cuts to federal services. Those states are now more vulnerable to sudden spikes in community need, such as for food assistance, which Trump's government slashed. As the United States careens toward a recession that Republicans swear isn't real, it will be the nation's low-income and working families who bear the brunt. If the economic situation continues degrading across the Great Plains and the Rust Belt, the GOP may soon find they have more than blue states' “soft secession” to worry about.

Nikki G isn't the type to say “I told you so.” Nevertheless, it was just one year ago when she was on the podcast, walking us through the evangelical vision behind Project 2025 and the looming theocratic dominionism of the far right. Now that the NAR agenda (see Ep.81) is coming to pass, she's back to regroup. Nikki & I discuss how to maintain sanity and balance under narcissistic rule, what it means to occupy our lane in the resistance, and why an understanding of cult dynamics is such a pragmatic consideration right now. We talk leadership, the intoxication of power, and standing arm-in-arm, steadfast and unwavering in our values, while leaders attempt to colonize our thinking and rob us of hope. This episode is a jam-packed dialogue offering support and a collectivist call to action. For more with Nikki, also see TDP Ep.77 + Ep.81 & 82.Nikki G. is a Certified Trauma Recovery Coach who helps survivors recover and thrive after Religious Trauma & Cult involvement. She is also a survivor of multiple narcissistic relationships, religious trauma, and several cultic communities. Nikki is the CEO of Nikki G Speaks LLC, which provides survivors with individual coaching, online community, and psychoeducation related to religious trauma, narcissistic abuse, and cult involvement. Nikki is a co-host of the podcast Surviving the Black Church, where she and her co-hosts delve into conversations regarding religious trauma in the Black Church. She is also the co-founder of The Black Religious Trauma Recovery Network, and she sits on the board of directors for Tears of Eden, a nonprofit that supports survivors who have experienced abuse in the evangelical community. nikkigspeaks.com | @nikki_g_speaksReferenced In This Episode:Project 2025 TrackerSupport the showThe stories and opinions shared in this episode are based on personal experience and are not intended to malign any individual, group, or organization.Join The Deeper Pulse at Patreon for weekly bonus episodes + other exclusive bonus content. Host Ron Steslow welcomes Mike Brock, CEO of TBD, a subsidiary of Block Inc. (formerly Square), the financial technology firm led by Twitter founder Jack Dorsey. The Internet is dominated by massive, corporate walled gardens like Google, Facebook, and Twitter (now X), where centralized control makes their users (us!) vulnerable to censorship and manipulation. In this episode, we explore how the movement to decentralize technology empowers individuals, protects against corporate and government abuse, and addresses real problems in finance and social media. We'll also discuss how decentralized technology can enhance financial access and freedom, bypassing intermediaries and censorship, and shifting power from financial corporations to individuals. Finally, we turn to the political landscape, focusing on the Democratic party's approach to decentralized technology and early signs it may be changing. Segments to look forward to: (04:45) Mike's background (10:50) Empowering individuals through decentralized finance and identity (15:45) Building infrastructure for a decentralized future (19:10) The potential of decentralized identity (29:49) The importance of Bitcoin's decentralization (31:31) Financial Access and Freedom (34:27) Preserving agency (44:44) Changing the balance of power (50:54) The varied stance of the Democratic party Follow Ron and Mike on X (formerly Twitter): https://twitter.com/RonSteslow https://x.com/brockm Email your questions to podcast@politicology.com or leave us a voicemail at (202) 455-4558 Learn more about your ad choices. At this moment, the cheapest way to create electricity is by pointing a solar panel at the sun. That's good news for the climate. It's also good news for communities who want to take control of their own electricity generation. In the heart of Brooklyn, UPROSE is helping to build a solar project that will be owned by the community, provide jobs, and help residents bring down their energy costs. In Puerto Rico, where hurricanes have devastated the power grid, community members are building solar microgrids to provide reliable electricity as the utility has proven they cannot. Meanwhile in conservative rural Virginia, Energy Right is helping farmers and rural communities adopt solar projects, touting a free market message about energy independence and security. Guests: Elizabeth Yeampierre, Attorney; Executive Director, UPROSE Skyler Zunk, CEO and Founder, Energy Right Arturo Massol-Deyá, Executive Director, Casa Pueblo de Adjuntas We're excited to share two upcoming opportunities to see Climate One Live! On February 25, internationally recognized environmental and civil rights activist Catherine Coleman Flowers will join Climate One for a live conversation about the future of environmental justice. And on March 24, Google's Chief Sustainability Officer Kate Brandt and Irina Raicu, Director of the Internet Ethics Program at the Markkula Center, will speak with Climate One about the development of sustainably powered artificial intelligence. Join Sheri for this week's podcast with important Astro News You Can Use, including the deeper meanings of the recent Aquarius New Moon—accompanied by a Mercury/Pluto conjunction in Aquarius & both luminaries' trines to Jupiter Rx--& Uranus's (the modern ruler of Aquarius) station direct in Taurus! Since Uranus is, at heart, about progressive change, not regressive change, it's station direct on January 30 at 23'15” Taurus means that it will again conjoin “off with his head” fixed star Algol—not once, but twice in the future! Tune in to find out what's happened since the conjunction of Mars/Uranus/Algol last July, & the who, what, where, how, & when's of this particular upcoming aspect! Also, learn what to expect when Jupiter stations direct in Gemini on February 4. Hint: We may not be getting what we thought we wanted, but we'll definitely get what the universe knows we need!Jupiter's retrograde station on October 9 at 21'20” Gemini--through to its station direct on February 4 at 11'16” Gemini--undoubtedly had a hand in souring the vision of what many wanted to happen during that period.. As Erin Sullivan explains in her book “Retrograde Planets, Traversing the Inner Landscape: “Jupiter retrograde can provoke depression—a consequence of unrequited needs; the period can spiral one into a pit of mourning and loss, requiring one to draw on deep reserves of faith in oneself.” Ya think? Especially since the November 2024 U.S. presidential election? Well, the good news is that it will soon be full speed ahead with Jupiter direct again. After all, Jupiter represents the ability to strategizing in order to successfully achieve a big picture goal. You know, like power to the people rather than to dictator wannabes. We note also the January 29 aviation disaster over Ronald Reagan airport in Washington, D.C. on the eve of Uranus's station direct January 30. As horrifying as is this midair collision—with no known survivors—Uranus has certainly made his influence known on both a literal & symbolic level. Uranus is, after all, like tarot card The Tower, which symbolizes sudden change…Do we NEED a revolution here in the U.S.? If so, with Pluto in Aquarius now until 2043, we have a long time during which to prepare for such an event as we ask ourselves “who's REALLY got the power—& how are they going to use it?” And to begin to shift our mindset back toward one that revolves around an era of “power to people”--again…Tune in @ https://www.karmicevolution.com/astrologically-speaking to hear more in-depth Astro New You Can Use & how it relates to current & potential future happenings!
