Some do it to carve out a niche, some do it because they are ashamed of being "just a trainer". Johnny Larson joins us to take us through some of the work he has done through his career as a strength and conditioning coach. You won't want to miss this one, Some great stories here. we also talk about risk vs reward when it comes to working with higher caliber athletes. (We've all seen Lebron squatting by now) Johnny was a part of the best season FAU Baseball has had in ten years with 6 guys being drafted, first time ever sweeping the University of Miami and beat the #1 ranked team in the country (Florida Gators). He also took gold in the Hofstra Strongest Man competition for his weight class and overall. (2011 and 2013). This guy has worked in a lot of places and we are happy to have him in NYC at Soho Strength Lab. Johnny currently holds Bachelor’s for Exercise Science from Hofstra, Currently MS Candidate for Sports Sciences. He's also been around quite a few teams holding different positions: - U of Alabama Volunteer Graduate Assistant (Softball, Cheerleading,Football) - St. Louis Cardinals Assistant Strengh Coach (Spring training and minor league season) - First Director of Strengh & Conditioning at Manhattan College (all 19 teams) - Assistant Strength & Conditioning Coordinator for Olympic Sports at Florida Atlanic University (Baseball, Volleyball, Softball, Women’s Soccer)
