This morning, David joins the show to discuss the recent amicus brief for Steve Bannon, CIA collusion regarding the Hunter Biden laptop, and the evolving situation with Trump and Jack Smith. Later, guest Joe Banister shares his journey from joining the IRS to discovering that the 16th Amendment was not properly ratified. He and David discuss why billionaires and large corporations still pay taxes, examples of people who have fought the IRS, and whether average citizens are required to pay state income taxes. They also talk about the government's failure to ratify the 16th Amendment and the benefits of keeping taxpayers uninformed. In closing, they emphasize the importance of educating oneself about the 16th Amendment, weighing the risks of not paying income tax, and considering motivations for fighting for the country.
This morning, Joe discussed the CBDC Anti-Surveillance Act, criticizing it for not truly benefiting the people since it still allows CBDCs as legal tender with Congress's permission. He also touched on the WHO's pandemic treaty and its negative implications for UN countries. After a break, Joe welcomed guest Peymon Mottahedeh, founder of FreedomLawSchool.org. They discussed the CBDC Anti-Surveillance Act and the promising End the Fed Act by Thomas Massie, highlighting the potential benefits of ending the Fed for government, economy, and citizen freedom. They also talked about the legal obligation to pay federal income tax and methods to avoid jail for non-filers. Joe then covered President Trump's rally in the Bronx, noting the diverse support and media acknowledgment of Trump's growing backing. He mentioned layoffs at Media Matters and the ongoing second civil war among the people. Joe ended the show with a message of encouragement: Pray, Stand, Speak, and Act, and wished everyone a happy Memorial Day weekend.
As April 15th approaches, and people spend valuable time and money on filing their income tax return. While plenty of people grouse and complain about paying income taxes, most don't realize that the cause of their pain is the actions of the states back in 1913. When the states ratified the Sixteenth Amendment they did more than just help the feds collect income taxes, they fundamentally changed the republic for the worse.

The 16th Amendment to the Constitution established the national government's authority to establish a federal income tax without having to divide the revenues among the states based on their population. The amendment resulted in a change in the way the national government was funded. Center for Civic Education
When Trump overhauled the tax code in 2017, a one-time repatriation tax was enacted on foreign earnings. Like many Americans, the Moores were invested overseas when they received a $15,000 tax bill. Since they reinvested the profit elsewhere and never realized any actual cash, the Moores are fighting the taxes and have taken their battle to the Supreme Court. As a result, the constitutionality of the 16th Amendment is now under attack and could be redefined despite SCOTUS's reluctance to disrupt the tax code. What now qualifies as taxable income? Today host Jack Russo and CPA, Steve Rabin discuss how the Moores could have planned better to avoid this tax bill and other tax tips to consider. https://taxservice2u.com/

The delegates to the Constitutional Convention create distinctions without comprehensible differences. The advocates of broad taxation join the adversaries to luxuries to tax the carriage-riding classes. Justice Paterson begins a proud tradition of opinions on taxation that are long on rhetoric and short on reason. The Gilded Age Supreme Court zigs, zags, and runs in circles, and confuses Congress to the point of a constitutional amendment. Mr. King's ghost is still waiting.

James Madison considered the separation of powers so important he not only called it a “dogmatic maxim,” he expressly included it as the 16th of his proposed Amendments to include a Bill of Rights. The post The Other 16th Amendment: Separation of Powers first appeared on Tenth Amendment Center.
The most taxing of codicils.
When is a wealth tax not a 'wealth tax'? Apparently, when secretary of the treasury Janet Yellen blurs the margins by calling it an 'unrealized capital gains tax' only for the super wealthy. Leland explores the economic space with applicable metaphors and asks whether such a tax on speculative wealth violates the original intent of the 16th amendment in the U.S. Constitution. Will the Supreme Court have the ultimate say on the matter?

The Way the World Works: A Tuttle Twins Podcast for Families
There was a time in this country when we didn't have an income tax. Americans were allowed to keep all the money they had worked so hard to get. But when the 16th Amendment was ratified, all that changed.
It was Benjamin Franklin that said, “in this world, nothing is certain except death and taxes.” On this episode of the Resistance Library Podcast, Sam and Dave talk about the 16th Amendment, which implemented a federal income tax. The American Revolution was sparked in part by unjust taxation. After all, the colonists in Boston rebelled against Britain for imposing “taxation without representation,” and summarily tossed English tea into the harbor in protest in 1773. Nowadays Americans collectively spend more than 6 billion hours each year filling out tax forms, keeping records, and learning new tax rules according to the Office of Management and Budget. Complying with the byzantine U.S. tax code is estimated to cost the American economy hundreds of billions of dollars annually – time and money that could otherwise be used for more productive activities like entrepreneurship and investment, or just more family and leisure time. The majority of these six billion hours sacrificed by Americans to Washington each year goes to complying with a tax that didn't even exist until 100 years ago – the federal income tax. Worse still, this tax has become a political weapon for Washington to incentivize certain activities (home ownership, charitable giving, etc.) and to punish others. It's a tax that follows Americans wherever they go in the world, and it's one that was originally sold to the American people by President Woodrow Wilson as a means of “soaking the rich” during the so-called Gilded Age. How did a country that was founded on the concept of limited government come to embrace such a draconian policy? And what does it say about Washington that tax reform has become synonymous with class warfare and corporate lobbyists? Listen now to learn the history of the 16th Amendment – which authorized the federal collection of an income tax – and how that power has ultimately meant the growth of Washington at the expense of just about everyone else. Episode #120: Interest free loans at the cost of jail time. That doesn't sound like a voluntary program? We can't argue the percentage, the deadline, the penalties… we either pay or go to prison. Is this the cost of a free and thriving society? The real question is; why is there no accountability for the people who take, but thousands of pages of law for those that are forced to pay. Tonight we dive into the question of taxes and if they are indeed theft. ⏺ Facebook: http://www.facebook.com/DontUnfriendMeHost ⏺ Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/dontunfriendmehost/ ⏺ YouTube: https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCRq8HdarvQ3ZGN1zviuoahA ⏺ Podcasts: http://www.anchor.fm/dontunfriendme ⏺ Website: http://www.dontunfriendme.com --- Send in a voice message: https://anchor.fm/dontunfriendme/message

In this episode, Dr. Veltmeyer examines America's current tax system and calls for its wholesale replacement by a fairer system geared to raising revenue instead of micromanaging the economy, appeasing special interests, or redistributing income. He favors the FAIR Tax which would replace the current federal income tax, corporate tax, payroll tax, capital gains tax, and estate and gift tax with a flat 23% tax on all retail sales.Support the show (http://drveltmeyer.com)
