Just because we're in a new year, leaving the stuff we don't want to carry anymore in the old year might not be so easy. It could take weeks, months, years, or even... 1,000 hearts to let go.Erika Koivunen is an artist and for many years, she worked with metal and fire until heartbreak turned those flames into yarn. In 2023, she lost her Park Street shop in a three-alarm fire. It was the second tragedy in a short amount of time. She had recently lost her husband and business partner, Aaron Howard -- who shared the studio with her for nearly 15 years. In this Radio Chipstone news special, feature contributor Gianofer Fields sits down with her good friend Erika to ask how she's mending her broken heart.

They share their experiences of working with me and how understanding their Enneagram types has significantly improved their relationship and business ventures. We discuss the challenges and benefits of their differing perspectives and how they've learned to navigate their partnership without "throat punching each other on the daily." Aaron, with his assertive and full-of-life Enneagram 7 traits, and Kate, with her meticulous and integrity-driven Enneagram 1 qualities, bring unique gifts to the table that, when harnessed correctly, create a powerful synergy. The episode also touches on the importance of patience and delegation in business, especially for Enneagram Type 1s like Kate, who tend to strive for perfection and control. We explore how letting go and trusting others can lead to scaling a business and achieving a better quality of life.Listeners get a sneak peek into what an Enneagram couple session looks like and gain insights into managing relationships with radically different partners. This week's episode of Anchored  features a speech delivered by Aaron Howard, an ethics professor at Lipscomb University and the founder and CEO of As One Diversity, at the Higher Ed Summit in Annapolis. Howard talks about the difference between the postmodern conception of diversity and the biblical view of diversity mandated by God. He dives into his firsthand experience with the oppressor/oppressed ideology he encountered at the Vanderbilt divinity school that pushed skepticism toward objective truth and demonization of all values associated with the West. He encouraged his audience not to overreact to this misrepresentation of diversity as we may miss the promise of embracing the kind that God ordained. Howard also takes a look at Jesus himself and his mission in unifying ethnic groups and healing prejudice.

Artist Erika Koivunen is no stranger to tragedy. Just eighteen months after losing her husband, Aaron Howard, a massive fire torched her entire S. Park Street workshop. Acme Ironworks, the shop that she and her husband shared as metalworkers, burned to the ground after a thunderstorm. The fire caused millions in damages and destroyed several businesses on the block.  You've probably seen Erika's work all over Madison: the thirty-foot tall metal tree that greets you on Willy Street, the metal flowers in front of Madison Sourdough, the benches at B.B. Clarke beach, the huge bird sculptures on S. Patterson Street. Now after decades of making art for the Madison community, Erika's learning to let the community support her. Friends have started a GoFundMe campaign. But how do you pick up and carry on when your world changes overnight?

Governments today are focused on the fundamentals and understand that their constituents are looking for results. Now is the time to align actions to the mission and begin looking at performance metrics that elevate the organization. The stakes couldn't be higher with new funding opportunities available at every level of government. Local governments often hold the key to making lasting impacts in their communities. But how can the programs they implement become more effective? Adam Jones, State Government Practice Leader with Weaver, talks with two tenured government advisors, Aaron Howard, President and CEO, Mass Ingenuity, and Todd Hoffman, Partner, Government Consulting Services, Weaver. With decades of experience helping governments with strategic planning and business process improvement, Todd and Aaron discuss the actions government agencies do that drive performance, best practices that impact success, and fundamentals of results. Today's government workforce is mission-driven, which is why they work in the public sector. They are also data-driven and look to analytics to support growth and improvement. “With [an] emphasis on mission-driven priorities and a focus on data, government can be better,” said Howard. The management of large-scale, complex grants requires a fresh approach and effective way to manage risk and report results, particularly in such high visibility/high accountability environments. The key to success is applying a balanced approach to people, processes and technology to track and demonstrate results. In terms of data, all three men agreed that metrics have to start with a core question, why am I measuring this, and why does it matter? “Metrics are more and more important. It's what individual constituents are looking at to ensure that where dollars are spent, they are getting the right outcomes,” said Hoffman.Organizational charts have historically been used to describe an agency's operations; however, these charts typically illustrate siloed and hierarchical functional groups without explaining the organization from an operational process perspective. Successful organizations are moving beyond the standard, flat organizational chart to develop a process-oriented view of workflows and performance measures, including who owns each core process' measurements of success. Aaron Howard is the President and CEO of Mass Ingenuity, an organizational development and enterprise performance management firm specializing in integrating people, processes, and technology for government agencies. Todd Hoffman is a partner in Weaver's Government Consulting Services practice and has 34 years of consulting experience, successfully delivering results in state and local government.

Don Sullivan has failed basic standards of care as a Pharmacist. Instead, Dr. Sullivan has engaged and has been engaging in a self-serving crusade of fraud, deceptions, billing the taxpayers of the United States of America for services he did not perform, and received payments for his ill-gotten gains.
