After Tom reminds Errol that as soon as you take off positions, new positions should be going right back on (”Capital on the sidelines doesn't do you any good”), Errol looks for new opportunities.  Tom says that all things being equal, selling an iron condor is statistically better than just selling a single vertical spread on one side of the market. Even though Errol has directional assumptions on 3 stocks (KR, NVDA, and PDD), he takes Tom's advice and places skewed iron condors (farther OTM puts for a bearish skew and father OTM calls for a bullish skew) on each of these underlyings. Errol asks Tom if he thinks most of the skill in trading lies in managing trades. Tom says, no, it's really in order entry. He says most investment and trading classes will put a hard emphasis on risk management, something Tom says is almost impossible to achieve. He says the burden is on being intelligent when entering an order, and that's where wealth is created in trading. He says a lot of people fall down during this stage because they get too excited about opportunities that don't fit the mechanics and probabilities.Bonus Lesson: Errol grills Tom on how he plays earnings--does he always play neutral? Tom says, for the most part, yes, he plays it neutral and looks for that IV crush, but these are also the only instances Tom sometimes likes to lean a little long! He thinks company's can lowball how well they're doing.

On this week’s episode of Below Deck Med, we jump right in where last week’s left off—with the demon baby chef man throwing a big tantrum. While at one point, this might have made us mad, we’re so jaded at this point (is this the 100th episode of the season?), that we just see it as amusing karma for Malia, who’s scrambling to save his juvenile arse from himself. After Tom yells at Bugsy, Captain Sandy tells her off, too, for enabling the crazed Englishman. We felt so sorry for Bugs that we almost forgot why we didn’t like her before this season. But we were gleeful once again when the Captain put him on blast in front of the crew. She loses her composure and gets a little emotional. But serves her right—she’s lost control and they’re all going down with the ship. As befits almost every episode, the guests are horrific monsters who behave in ways that rabid dogs would find shockingly aggressive. Most monstrous of all might be Rob, however. The dude with the way-too-aggressive face is gaslighting Jessica by making her appear irrationally jealous. But is it irrational? Spoiler alert: NO.--- Send in a voice message: https://anchor.fm/kikiandkibbitz/message

He is the founder of Crafted Hospitality, which includes several restaurants across the U.S. and has a mission to bring healthy food to more people. Tom joined me on the mbgpodcast to talk about his path to becoming a celebrity chef and why food issues became a prominent focus for him. He talks about his eye-opening experience as the executive producer of the documentary A Place at the Table, which delves into the roots of food insecurity in the U.S. “Right now in this country, we have around 40 million people who struggle to put food on the table,” said Tom. In light of this statistic, Tom is dedicated to getting healthier meals in schools. He worked with Michelle Obama to pass the Healthy Hunger-Free Kids Act and has testified in front of Congress to push this mission forward. He’s also a huge advocate of reducing food waste as he's seen first hand the amount accumulated by Americans daily. “What we’re throwing out is not just food, it’s the resources it takes to make that food and produce that food. It’s a lot of energy, water, and also people’s lives,” explained Tom. He also lets us in on the one doable thing he does every Friday to limit waste and save money in his home and how we can get started reducing food waste in our home. After Tom started gardening six years ago he lost 20 pounds and shifted his food philosophy to being more plant forward. He talks about why he loves to cook seasonally and the three spring veggies he can’t wait to cook with. Cashflow Diary™

Tom Nardone proves the American Dream of financial freedom is entirely possible once we open our eyes and recognize opportunities are literally everywhere. That’s how he became known as the Millionaire Mailman by getting involved in real estate investing. Tom wasn’t always the investor and author he is today who has been seen on TV talking about his life. He started simply as a “postal person” working a government job. At age 19, he started working for the Post Office as a mailman. It didn’t take him long to realize that the security entrapment of “good job” is not a lot different from a 30-year jail sentence. Tom explains it simply and truthfully. He says, “You feel trapped, and your income is limited.” Realizing his “good government job” was not going to make his dreams of being financially free come true, Tom took some real estate investing courses. He bought his first house in 1983… at the age of 23. (So when you say you’re too young to be an investor, you’re wrong.)Tom soon realized he had a major unfair advantage over other investors. That’s because he was delivering the mailed default notices and related mail that every homeowner who falls behind in payments always receives. That means Tom could knock on the doors of these individuals and chat with them. He would quite literally get there first and before other real estate investors. He’d have to jump into his civilian clothes to go back and have a deeper conversation with the homeowners, but he got really, really good at it. Every day Tom (like all other mailpersons do) drove and walked neighborhoods to deliver mail. Tom started buying houses on his mail routes and networking with other letter carriers to refer to him vacant houses that provide an excellent source of leads that no one else knows about. Smart move! This went on till Tom was 35, at which point he decided he didn’t need to be a mailman any longer because he had at least 35 rental properties. Tom explains the foreclosure process from the viewpoint of a mailman. He says that before the Lis Pendens and the Complaint are filed, the only people who know that the house is headed for foreclosure are: #1) The borrower who can’t make the payment, #2) The lender who didn’t get the payment, and #3) The mailman who has to deliver the certified letter sent from the mortgage company to the borrower, and gets to walk up to the front door and stare the person on title right in the face.Tom said, “When I bought my first few houses, my fellow workers started calling me “Millionaire Mailman”! The name stuck. Listen as Tom shares his story of how he built a portfolio of 25 “keeper” rental houses with positive cashflow and retired from his job. Tom says, “When I finally quit my job, my fellow workers were coming back to me begging me to teach them how I did it.”After Tom quit his J-O-B, he realized he no longer had the “inside scoop” on finding house deals from his old mailman job. So, he started an approach of building a mailman bird dog network. Another smart move!Tom now has more than 250 properties and truly lives the American dream in Florida. (But that doesn’t mean he only invests in Florida. Not by a long shot!) Want to know how he did it? Want to become a real estate investor? Tom lays it out step by step in this episode of my Cash Flow Diary podcast. Learn more. LISTEN NOW.

After Tom plays hooky from school, he is made to whitewash Aunt Polly's fence as punishment, but persuades his friends to do it for him. Tom's real trouble begins when he and Huck Finn witness a murder committed by Injun Joe. They swear to never tell, and the wrong man, Muff Potter, is accused of the crime. Tom, Huck, and a friend run away to be pirates, but become aware that the whole town is searching for their bodies. Each of the boys make an appearance at their own funerals, where they are greeted with open arms. As Muff Potter's trial begins, Tom is overcome with guilt and testifies against Injun Joe, who quickly flees the courtroom. Later, on a class field trip to a cave, Tom and his love interest, Becky Thatcher, get lost. As they run out of food and candles searching for a way out, Tom and Becky come upon Injun Joe, who is using the cave as a hideout. Tom finds a way out just as the search party is giving up. The town rejoices and Judge Thatcher, Becky's father, has the cave sealed, unknowingly trapping Injun Joe inside where he starves to death.

The second one might seem a little strange to list as a marketing trend but if you listen to the logic on the podcast I think you'll agree that this could have a huge impact on cost and price, delivery, availability, sourcing, distribution models ... well, just about everything marketers should care about. What's that you say? You want to get to the freaking podcast and fast? Well here it is, with no further delay!
