Remember when summer felt like it lasted forever and your biggest problem was deciding between riding your bike or eating a popsicle? Yeah… me neither. These days, time feels like it's on fast-forward, and no matter how many productivity hacks or morning routines we try, the days keep flying by. In this episode, I dive into why our perception of time changes as we get older, and more importantly, what we can do to slow it down. For more go to: www.scottmlynch.comLevel up your life by joining my Patreon where you'll get exclusive content every week and more badass offerings (rips t-shirt in half, Hulk Hogan style, and runs around the room). Do you wake up feeling like you got hit by a bus, drag through the day in a low-energy fog, and wonder why coffee doesn't seem to help anymore? I've been there. After months of overthinking, self-experimentation, and blaming everything from gluten to the alignment of the stars, I finally realized the truth: I was skipping the basics. In this episode, I share my own journey of figuring out why I was always tired and the surprising solution that had been right in front of me the whole time. For more go to: www.scottmlynch.comLevel up your life by joining my Patreon where you'll get exclusive content every week and more badass offerings (rips t-shirt in half, Hulk Hogan style, and runs around the room). For years, I bought into the hustle culture lie: work harder, do more, and success will follow. But after cutting my schedule in half and focusing on fewer, higher-impact tasks, I discovered something surprising: slowing down actually amplified my creativity, focus, and results. In this episode, I unpack how lowering the bar, embracing slow productivity, and letting go of unnecessary expectations saved my sanity and helped me produce better work. For more go to: www.scottmlynch.comLevel up your life by joining my Patreon where you'll get exclusive content every week and more badass offerings (rips t-shirt in half, Hulk Hogan style, and runs around the room). Most of us live as if we just plan hard enough, we'll finally “figure it all out.” The perfect calendar, the flawless morning routine, the 5-year plan, detailed down to what socks we'll wear on Thursdays. But life doesn't work that way. I learned this seven hours and forty minutes into the hardest Spartan race in the world, after thirty obstacles, thousands of feet of elevation, and more burpees than any human should endure. In this episode, I share why certainty is an illusion, how over-planning becomes procrastination, and why clarity doesn't come from thinking. For more go to: www.scottmlynch.comLevel up your life by joining my Patreon where you'll get exclusive content every week and more badass offerings (rips t-shirt in half, Hulk Hogan style, and runs around the room). Most people ease into challenges. A 5K. Maybe a 10K. I skipped all that and went straight for the hardest Spartan race in the world: 21K, thirty obstacles, seven thousand feet of elevation, and a whole lot of burpees if I failed. In this episode, I break down six months of training, the gear I tested, and what this race taught me about discipline, minimalism, and saying “yes” before fear talks you out of it.For more go to: www.scottmlynch.comLevel up your life by joining my Patreon where you'll get exclusive content every week and more badass offerings (rips t-shirt in half, Hulk Hogan style, and runs around the room). We've all been told to set big goals. Run a marathon. Write a book. Launch a YouTube channel by June (still waiting on that one). The idea is simple: dream big, chase it, and life will magically fall into place. But here's the problem: goals often do the exact opposite. They pile on guilt, create impossible deadlines, and leave you wondering if your treadmill is just a $1,200 clothing rack. In this episode, I break down why goals might be holding you back and what actually works better. For more go to: www.scottmlynch.comLevel up your life by joining my Patreon where you'll get exclusive content every week and more badass offerings (rips t-shirt in half, Hulk Hogan style, and runs around the room). For years, I thought the goal in life was to be happy. All the time. If I wasn't smiling, laughing, or journaling about gratitude while sipping my $7 oat latte, something was broken. So I stacked every hack I could find: affirmations, meditation, cold showers. Once, I even did them all before 9 am, like I was auditioning for a self-help infomercial. And guess what? I felt worse. In this episode, I break down why chasing happiness 24/7 is the fastest way to feel miserable, why “good vibes only” culture backfires, and what it really means to live a good life. For more go to: www.scottmlynch.comLevel up your life by joining my Patreon where you'll get exclusive content every week and more badass offerings (rips t-shirt in half, Hulk Hogan style, and runs around the room). The Inbox Series – 010 – What Captain Sandy Taught Me About Leadership (and Why It Matters for Your Brand) Leadership is one of the scariest parts of growing a fashion brand. How do you delegate without sounding bossy? Give feedback without crushing someone's confidence? Or step into being a “leader” when you've always seen yourself as a creative? This episode breaks down what good leadership really looks like — with lessons from my own experience working with different managers, plus a little inspiration from reality TV's most unlikely role model… Captain Sandy from Below Deck. Because you don't need to be loud, corporate or scary to lead. You just need to be calm, clear and kind. In This Episode: ✨ The fears founders secretly have about leading a team ✨ What I learned from my best (and worst) managers in fashion ✨ Why leadership is a skill, not a personality trait ✨ How to set boundaries with kindness ✨ Practical phrases you can use to lead with more confidence
Ask someone how they're doing, and odds are they'll say, “Busy.” At some point, busyness became the ultimate adult humble brag, like flashing your Pokémon card collection, but with Google Calendar invites. We all know the drill: the alarm blares, you hit snooze, and somehow the day has already started on the wrong foot. So I decided to see what would happen if I quit my alarm clock for an entire month. We all want to get better, but where do you even start? Last week, I broke down the worst habits, the ones guaranteed to make your life a dumpster fire. We all have habits that shape our lives, some helpful, some… not so much. In this episode, I rank the worst possible habits in a tier list, diving into what makes them truly destructive, why we keep falling for them, and what that says about the way we live. We live in the most connected time in human history, video calls across the world, instant messages, and same-day delivery for just about anything we want. And yet we've also become the loneliest society ever. How did that happen? Intermittent fasting isn't a diet; it's about when you eat, not what you eat. For the last two years, I've been unintentionally doing a 16-hour fast every day. I didn't plan it, and I definitely didn't expect it to stick. So I decided to dive into the latest science and expert opinions to see what's really going on. I love organization. Maybe it's the minimalist in me, or the perfectionist, but there's something deeply satisfying about turning chaos into order. The problem is, most organizing advice online seems designed for people with infinite time, money, and storage space (and no kids). At some point, self-care went from drinking water and getting enough sleep to sticking coffee where the sun doesn't shine. Literally. The global self-care market ballooned from $10 billion in 2014 to over $450 billion by 2020, and along the way, wellness became a full-time job. From 4:30 a.m. wake-ups to skincare routines that require a chemistry degree, we've officially overcomplicated the art of taking care of ourselves. In this episode, I react to some of the most viral “self-improvement” TikToks and reels, unpacking the absurdity, and asking a simple question: when did growth stop being… simple? For more go to: www.scottmlynch.comLevel up your life by joining my Patreon where you'll get exclusive content every week and more badass offerings (rips t-shirt in half, Hulk Hogan style, and runs around the room). This week I'm joined by none other than the iconic Below Deck Mediterranean star, Hannah Ferrier, for a conversation that's as bold as she is. We're diving deep into her reality TV journey, from the high-pressure world of yachting to becoming a household name on Bravo. But this isn't just another Below Deck recap - Hannah's pulling back the curtain on the struggles we didn't see on camera, including the truth about the anxiety and panic attacks she battled while filming, and the real reasons behind them. How she and Captain Sandy have repaired their relationship after her shocking firing from the show, and as a Bravo fan herself, Hannah unpacks her thoughts on The Valley, the Real Housewives of Orange County and Miami, Tamra Judge, Ramona Singer and so much more. This one's packed with behind-the-scenes stories and personal insights you won't hear anywhere else. Tune in for a conversation that's real, raw, and unfiltered! It's been five years since I first called myself a minimalist. A lot has changed since then: my work, my family, and how I see the world. In this episode, I reflect on why I still choose minimalism, even when life gets messy, why it remains one of the most powerful tools I have to keep things simple, and how one simple question continues to keep me grounded in what matters most. For more go to: www.scottmlynch.comLevel up your life by joining my Patreon where you'll get exclusive content every week and more badass offerings (rips t-shirt in half, Hulk Hogan style, and runs around the room). Eating healthy doesn't have to be complicated. For the past couple of years, I've kept my diet simple by cycling through almost the same meals every week. In this episode, I break down what I'm eating right now as I train for my Spartan 21k, why this approach keeps me feeling strong and focused, and how keeping it simple has been the key to building consistency without overthinking every bite. For more go to: www.scottmlynch.comLevel up your life by joining my Patreon where you'll get exclusive content every week and more badass offerings (rips t-shirt in half, Hulk Hogan style, and runs around the room). Making friends used to be simple. You shared a juice box at recess, and boom, best friends. But as adults, most of us kind of suck at it. Most days, we're too busy to ask ourselves how we actually feel. We just keep moving, ignoring the frustration, burnout, or tiny moments of joy that slip by unnoticed. But what would happen if you tracked your mood every single day? In this episode, I share what happened when I tracked my mood every day for a month, the patterns I didn't expect to find, and how a simple five-point scale taught me more about happiness than any self-help book ever has.For more go to: www.scottmlynch.comLevel up your life by joining my Patreon where you'll get exclusive content every week and more badass offerings (rips t-shirt in half, Hulk Hogan style, and runs around the room). It's not a lack of information that's holding you back. It's not your schedule, or your inbox, or the algorithm. More often than not, it's just you, caught in the endless loop of waiting for the perfect plan instead of showing up consistently. It's been another busy week in the extended Bravo universe, and Dylan starts the episode by addressing Craig Conover's latest attempt to set the record straight. His ring receipts might not hold up in a court of law, but are they enough to convince Bravo fans he's not a liar? From there, he unpacks Casa Amor week on Love Island USA, and compares how the drama in Fiji stacks up to one single dinner on RHOM. Speaking of RHOM, it's a chaotic episode that ends with Julia dumping her drink on Guerdy over… Captain Sandy cruise? Dylan also discusses the latest drama on The Valley, and issues a word of caution to some of the cast members on Next Gen NYC. We all do it. That task you've been avoiding? Still there. That thing you told yourself you'd start tomorrow? Welcome to tomorrow. We like to think procrastination is just laziness, but it's usually something deeper. A hidden fear, a mental block, or maybe just a really well-organized form of avoidance. I used to scribble notes everywhere, Post-its, Google Docs, notes app, my hand, and then wonder why I couldn't find anything when I actually needed it. Turns out, productivity isn't just about to-do lists and caffeine; it's about getting your digital life in order to free up your mental space and make room for better ideas (and fewer forgotten passwords). In this episode, I break down the simple system I now use to capture ideas, organize my digital clutter, and actually follow through on projects. For more go to: www.scottmlynch.comLevel up your life by joining my Patreon where you'll get exclusive content every week and more badass offerings (rips t-shirt in half, Hulk Hogan style, and runs around the room). Have you ever wanted to just start over, to hit control, alt, delete on your life and start from scratch? A few years ago, my wife Mel and I asked ourselves a terrifying question: What if we let it all go and started over? The answer sent us down an unexpected path, one that taught us a lot about freedom, burnout, and the science of change. In this episode, I unpack our story, explore the psychology behind the Fresh Start Effect, and reveal why the timing of change might matter more than the tools. For more go to: www.scottmlynch.comLevel up your life by joining my Patreon where you'll get exclusive content every week and more badass offerings (rips t-shirt in half, Hulk Hogan style, and runs around the room). Motivation is often treated like this mysterious, elusive force, something you wait for, something that magically appears before you finally take action. But what if that's exactly backward? Your twenties are supposed to be “the best years of your life,” right? But no one tells you how confusing, overwhelming, and straight-up weird they can be. There are things we only learn the hard way, sometimes after a few missteps, sometimes after a full-on identity crisis in a grocery store parking lot. We've all met that person, the one who's two green smoothies deep into the new year and already telling everyone how their “new routine” is going to change their life. But the problem is that talking about your goals can feel almost as good as achieving them. And that's exactly the trap. In this episode, I unpack why announcing your ambitions too early might be sabotaging your progress, how false dopamine rewards keep us stuck in the planning phase, and why the most disciplined people usually say the least. For more go to: www.scottmlynch.comLevel up your life by joining my Patreon where you'll get exclusive content every week and more badass offerings (rips t-shirt in half, Hulk Hogan style, and runs around the room). Have you ever sat down to get something done and felt like your brain forgot to show up to the meeting? Like there's a thick haze between you and your thoughts, sluggish, scattered, stuck in neutral? Yeah… same. Brain fog isn't just a quirky phrase, it's a real, frustrating state that creeps in quietly and overstays its welcome. And in a world built to hijack your focus and drain your energy, it's no surprise that so many of us are experiencing it. In this episode, I dig into three surprisingly overlooked reasons you might be stuck in the fog, three practical ways to cut through it, and why the fix might not be another productivity hack or nootropic supplement. For more go to: www.scottmlynch.comEpisode resources:Rewiring Your Brain For FocusThis episode is brought to you by:TonalLevel up your life by joining my Patreon where you'll get exclusive content every week and more badass offerings (rips t-shirt in half, Hulk Hogan style, and runs around the room). If you're looking to completely transform your life, you don't need to overhaul everything overnight. We've normalized debt, student loans, car payments, credit cards, and convinced ourselves it's just the cost of adulthood. But what if it's actually the biggest barrier to the life you want? There are moments when sitting down to do something meaningful feels physically uncomfortable, like your brain is actively protesting. You open your laptop with the best intentions, and five minutes later, you're in a black hole of browser tabs, group chats, and a suspicious number of snack breaks. Why is it so hard to focus, especially on the stuff that actually matters? In this episode, I unpack the science behind that resistance, why our brains crave distraction, how dopamine has hijacked our motivation system, and why chasing pleasure might be the exact thing pulling us away from purpose. For more go to: www.scottmlynch.comLevel up your life by joining my Patreon where you'll get exclusive content every week and more badass offerings (rips t-shirt in half, Hulk Hogan style, and runs around the room). Most self-help advice makes me cringe. Vision boards, “manifesting,” and the whole daily affirmation thing? Yeah, I've always put that in the woo-woo category. But lately, I've been stuck in my head, wrestling with self-doubt, perfectionism, and the classic case of overthinking everything. So I decided to try something that made me deeply uncomfortable: staring at myself in the mirror and saying things like “I am enough.” And no, I didn't spontaneously combust from secondhand embarrassment. In this episode, I test daily affirmations for a week, even the corny ones, and rope my wife into writing a few that are, well, questionable at best. For more go to: www.scottmlynch.comLevel up your life by joining my Patreon where you'll get exclusive content every week and more badass offerings (rips t-shirt in half, Hulk Hogan style, and runs around the room).
