Andy Johnson, Kevin Van Valkenburg, and Joseph LaMagna reconvene to discuss the latest news in men's professional golf as the 2026 season comes to a close. First, the trio each share one big takeaway from the league that was LIV Golf 1.0, with Kevin and Joseph providing a lasting memory from their time on the ground at LIV events. They wonder if LIV's money would have been better spent on building a championship-level golf course rather than a roster of players and debate what the future holds for LIV's "2.0" structure. Andy, Kevin, and Joseph then move on to the biggest news of this week: PGA Tour CEO Brian Rolapp's announcement of a new Tour Championship structure beginning in 2028. The three are all excited for this new-look match play format and focus on how to make the best television product possible out of two weeks of matches between the PGA Tour's top players. They also highlight the Tour's newfound venue flexibility as a traditional scoring won't matter for these matches beginning in 2028. Mabel Nunez is the founder & Chief Education Officer at Girl$ on The Money – a stock market investing education company targeted toward individuals who are underrepresented in the investing world. Mabel grew up in the South Bronx as an immigrant from the Dominican Republic, with limited resources & a strong emphasis on education from her father. She learned very little about personal finance or investing while in school until she was in college, where she took an investing analysis class which began her passion for investing & personal finance. Mabel holds both a Bachelor of Science and an MBA in Finance. However, most of what she's learned about investing came from experience. Mabel's mission is to teach what she's learned (and continues to learn) since starting her investing journey. She is passionate about transforming investing beginners into confident, knowledgeable, and profitable investors. In this episode, Mabel shares: How fear kept her from starting to invest, despite graduating as a finance major, reading articles and listening to shows on investing How she has been investing for 16 years with a focus on individual stocks in a self-directed taxable account. She invests in companies with long-term potential, rarely selling stocks and preferring a Warren Buffett-style strategy That investing in ETFs or index funds, such as the S&P 500, can be a simpler alternative to buying individual stocks & advises against buying "cheap stocks" or investing in unproven companies. How she struggled to tell her parents about quitting her 9-5 stable job to pursue her passion & the challenge of balancing personal dreams with family expectations, particularly for immigrant families + much more! Play Episode Listen Later Aug 26, 2026 10:24

A student of mine forwarded me an email she got from a voiceover guru. One of those here is the truth nobody tells you posts. And after reading it, she asked me, very sincerely, if she was a terrible voice actor. I cannot tell you the range of emotions I felt. From heartbreak to anger. Because she is not. She has been working at this for five years. She is talented. She has done a lot of things right. And one post made her question all of it. That is the damage incomplete information does. And today I want to talk about why. What the Post Said The post was about booking ratios. It said working voiceover actors book roughly one out of every 50 auditions. Beginners are closer to one in 400. The framing was motivational. Stay the course. You are on schedule. If you quit at audition 40 you quit ten auditions before the math even gets interesting. And look, the numbers are not made up. Booking ratios are real. Tracking your auditions matters. Those things are true. But the post also mentioned a student who booked on her third audition and cleared six figures in her first year. Told as inspiration. Told as proof that the teachings work. That is not inspiration. That is the lottery winner telling you how easy it is to win the lottery. What the Post Left Out Booking ratio stats without context are not a roadmap. They are a feeling. Here is everything they left out. What verticals was this person auditioning for? A commercial audition pool is very different from an audiobook pool, which is very different from a AAA video game pool. The ratios are not the same across verticals. What does your demo sound like? Is it competitive in the market you are submitting to? If it is not, your ratio is going to look very different from someone whose demo is dialed in. Who is actually hearing your auditions? Are you submitting to pay-to-plays, to cold outreach, to casting directly, through agents? These are not the same situation. What does your marketing look like? Are the right people even finding you? Audition volume is one variable. It is not the whole picture. Telling someone who has been at this for five years to just keep submitting without asking any of those questions is not coaching. That is a content strategy to scoop students. The Questions You Should Actually Be Asking If you are feeling stuck, the question is not have I auditioned enough. The question is where is my pipeline actually breaking down. Because that is a solvable problem. Maybe your demo is not representing the work you can actually do right now. Maybe your website is invisible to search engines. Maybe you are submitting to the right platforms but with no direct marketing strategy on top of it. Maybe you are in the wrong niche entirely. Those are all fixable. But you cannot fix them by counting auditions. The Bottom Line If you have been at this for years and you feel stuck, do not let booking ratio stats be the thing that makes you quit or the thing that makes you stay. You need real data. You need to look at your actual pipeline and find where it is breaking down. And please know you are not behind. You might just be missing a few pieces that nobody has pointed out yet. Incomplete information dressed up as insider knowledge does real damage to people who are already working really hard and wondering if they are doing it right. You deserve better than that. You deserve the complete picture, not just a number with a roadmap label on it. Want to Keep the Conversation Going? If this hit home, share it with someone who needs to hear it. And if you have questions about voiceover, marketing, your audio, your website, your business model, please schedule a free consult. Let's get you unstuck and on the path to doing what you love. They cover the new year-end format -- a season finale stroke play event followed by TWO WEEKS of match play in what will be known as the Tour Championship. Did the Tour nail it? Can this really pop as a mixture of the World Cup and March Madness? They cover the risks and potential rewards for the fans as well as the Tour. Also discussed are the rounds of questions about LIV returnees, sponsor interest, and TV network deals. Then they get to the schedule for the week, where they take great amusement in having to suffer through TWO more Tour Championships of the old, dumpy model, now that news of the future model has been announced. The differences between an adult Sunday school class and one for kids are quite striking. A class for toddlers and preschoolers is rarely organized around the logic of a Bible passage, or even a lesson outline. Instead, lessons are structured by the classroom schedule and environment—by a basic routine and activity centers that are designed for play, music, the Bible story, and other games or crafts. How do we prepare children's lessons that are Christ-centered, biblically faithful, engaging for kids, and oriented towards the distinct ways that kids learn? This workshop will help you learn how to do just that. Jared Kennedy serves as an editor for The Gospel Coalition. He is also co-founder of Gospel-Centered Family and the author of books for children and families like Faith-Builder Catechism (New Growth Press, 2023), Keeping Your Children's Ministry on Mission (Crossway, 2022), and The Beginner's Gospel Story Bible (New Growth, 2017). In the first half, Keith shares how a quirky old diary, The Journal of a Disappointed Man, inspired his hilarious new series, The Beginner's Guide. He explains how he mixes the serious "voice" of a how‑to manual with completely ridiculous wizardly details—like emergency cheese, space pie, and strict duel etiquette (no summoning Grandma… she's way too powerful!). Keith talks about testing jokes on his kids, constantly collecting ideas from everyday life, and starting his stories with strong visual images that make kids eager to turn the page. He also describes his journey from editorial illustration to children's books and the "Gandalf" mentor who gave him permission to trust his own creative instincts. In the second half, Wanda takes listeners on a warm, heartfelt trip to Cidra, Puerto Rico through Carina and Sabi. She introduces Sabi, a magical Paloma Sabanera (an endangered pigeon found only in parts of Puerto Rico), and explains how the story celebrates nature, heritage, and the pride of growing up Puerto Rican. Wanda and Jed swap personal memories of Puerto Rico—coquí frogs, family, festivals, and food—and explore how stories can help all children, whether or not they're Puerto Rican, feel curious about other cultures while becoming more proud of their own.

You'll learn how to leverage everyday spending to earn valuable reward points, maximize their redemption value for free travel, and strategically use credit cards without hurting your credit scores or accumulating debt. This is your secret weapon to travel more for a fraction of the cost.Key Takeaways:Travel hacking isn't about buying things you don't need, but routing daily bills, groceries, and gas through rewards cards to earn a "rebate" on your regular budget.High interest rates on rewards cards can wipe out the value of any points earned. If you carry a balance, travel hacking doesn't work.Various bank currencies like Chase Ultimate Rewards, Amex Membership Rewards, and Capital One Miles are transferrable, giving you freedom.Instead of shopping directly on a retailer's site, use a shopping portal that allows you to stack rewards on top of card points.Redeeming points for cash back or merchandise usually yields less than 1 cent per point, which gives you a low value.Transferring points directly to airline and hotel loyalty programs, especially during bonus promotions, can boost their value significantly.Once you have bank cards with flexible rewards, add specific airline or hotel cards (like Hyatt or Delta) to unlock status, free checked bags, and annual free-night certificates.Discover more from Money Girl!FacebookNewsletterTranscripts available at QuickandDirtyTips.com.Email: Laura@LauraDAdams.com or leave a voicemail: (302) 364-0308. Now, on this very special episode, Jason and Lon welcome Bittensor co-founder Jason Steeves (aka "Const") to the show. He gives us a quick tour of the project's first principles, before diving into how subnets incentivize miners to contribute, how dTAO turned the creation of subnets into its own competition, how Const says he employs "the internal machinery of capitalism" to rank subnects, and his latest project, Subnet 120 (aka Affine). Today's story is about Cai Lei, a man who was diagnosed with ALS — known in Chinese as 渐冻症(jiàn dòng zhèng), literally "the freezing disease" — and chose not to quietly disappear. Before his diagnosis, he was a successful businessman. Afterward, he became something harder to define: a patient who threw himself into funding research, building platforms, pushing policy, and demanding that the world pay attention to a disease it had largely ignored. It's a story about what it looks like to face the unfaceable — not with grace, but with grit. - Rui & Simeng ************************************************************ Support Our Podcast Support Our Podcast → https://www.patreon.com/learningchinesethroughstories If our podcast brings value to your life and you'd like to help us keep creating great content, consider becoming a patron for as little as $9 a month. In this solo episode of Wild & Waking, I'm sharing a beginner-friendly introduction to the Wheel of the Year - a seasonal calendar shaped by the solstices, equinoxes, ancient traditions, and natural rhythms of the Earth. After spending the past year learning about and experiencing each seasonal celebration for myself, I'm walking you through all eight sabbats: Mabon, Samhain, Yule, Imbolc, Ostara, Beltane, Litha, and Lughnasadh. As a farm wife living in rural Illinois, so much of the Wheel feels deeply familiar: planting, growth, harvest, release, dormancy, and beginning again. It offers a framework for noticing what is happening in nature and considering how those same cycles are unfolding within our motherhood, work, creativity, relationships, identities, and personal evolution. This episode is an invitation into seasonal living, nature-based spirituality, and a more intentional relationship with time without requiring elaborate rituals or any particular spiritual identity. The Wheel of the Year reminds us that nature doesn't bloom all year, and neither do we. There are seasons for beginning, growing, gathering, releasing, grieving, resting, and waiting for the first spark to return. In this episode, I explore:What the Wheel of the Year is and how its eight seasonal sabbats connect us with the natural rhythms of the EarthThe solstices, equinoxes, and ancient Gaelic festivals that form the modern Pagan calendarA beginner-friendly overview of Mabon, Samhain, Yule, Imbolc, Ostara, Beltane, Litha, and LughnasadhThe history, folklore, themes, symbols, colors, foods, rituals, and seasonal intentions associated with each sabbatHow modern traditions overlap with ancient seasonal customsWhich familiar Wheel of the Year names, stories, and traditions are ancient, modern, or a blend of bothSimple ways to honor each seasonal threshold without elaborate rituals, expensive supplies, or claiming a particular spiritual identityHow seasonal living and nature-based spirituality can deepen our relationship with the Earth, our intuition, and the passage of timeWhat the cycles of planting, growth, harvest, release, dormancy, and rebirth can teach us about motherhood, creativity, identity, and personal evolutionWhy we were never meant to bloom, produce, expand, or feel the same in every seasonBe sure to hit subscribe so you never miss the latest episode!Connect with Emily:Website: www.EmilyReuschel.comInstagram: @emilyreuschelFacebook: Emily ReuschelLinkedIn: Emily ReuschelJoin my Book Insiders List: Sign up here!Resources and Links:Learn more and sign up for VeilFallThe Wheel of the Year: An Illustrated Guide to Nature's Rhythms by Fiona Cook and Jessica Roux — A beautifully illustrated, family-friendly introduction to the eight seasonal celebrations, with stories, meditations, scavenger hunts, crafts, recipes, rituals, and simple ways to connect with nature throughout the year.Llewellyn's Sabbat Essentials Box Set — A collection of eight books—one for each sabbat—offering a deeper look at the history, lore, rituals, recipes, crafts, correspondences, prayers, and traditions associated with Ostara, Beltane, Litha, Lughnasadh, Mabon, Samhain, Yule, and Imbolc.Your Spacious & Seasonal Year by Ashley Burnett, with contributions from Lela Shields — A beautiful guide and workbook for living more intentionally alongside nature's rhythms, featuring seasonal rituals, reflections, recipes, and practices designed to bring greater connection, meaning, spaciousness, and joy to everyday life.Demystify Magic Podcast — A grounded, approachable podcast exploring magic and spirituality in ways that feel practical and accessible. Dave Holmes spent the late '90s and early 2000s as one of the faces of MTV, and these days he's a sharp, funny voice at Esquire — but before any of that, he spent six years being told he had type 2 diabetes when he actually had type 1. This week, Rob sits down with Dave to talk about that misdiagnosis, the strange cluster of friends who were diagnosed around the same time, and a diabetes-age chart Rob saw at a conference that will change how you think about who gets T1D. From there, the conversation turns into a real, unpolished look at what it takes to live a creative life. Dave and Rob are both working through Julia Cameron's The Artist's Way right now — morning pages, artist dates, and all — and they get honest about guilt, perfectionism, and the fear of putting out work that isn't ready. Dave, a professional writer with a book and a byline at one of the biggest magazines in the country, admits he still feels like a fraud turning in a rough draft. It's a good reminder that "getting easier" was never really the goal — getting better at the hard parts is. Along the way, Dave and Rob swap stories about the universe nudging you toward where you're supposed to be — a DJ gig that came out of nowhere, a stranger at a DVD store, a maintenance worker who turned out to also be living with diabetes. It's the kind of episode that starts as a diabetes story, turns into a conversation about creativity, and ends up being about paying attention to your life. And because no DDT episode is complete without some fun, Dave and Rob close it out with a segment they're calling the Bad Advice Song Draft — three rounds each of picking the most beloved songs with the absolute worst advice buried in the lyrics. Stalking anthems, teenage recklessness, and one song so ethically questionable that Kidz Bop wouldn't touch it. Tune in for all of it. Trail cameras have become a staple for whitetail hunters, especially over the past decade. Where legal, they can be handy tools for locating and hunting deer or other game animals. They're especially effective if you're interested in targeting a specific size or age structure of deer (i.e. a target buck), and can help you hone in on that deer's home range. Consider that cellular trail cameras make this information even more accessible and...

Trading Nut | Trader Interviews - Forex, Futures, Stocks (Robots & More)

Cam, JJ, and Vatsal debunk the myth that risk management alone creates profitability, explaining why survival is not the same as success and how to protect your emotional capital. Full episode + show notes: https://tradingnut.com/dtc-29/ Key moments - Risk management protects your capital but does not create profits; it only keeps you alive long enough for your edge to play out [01:25]. - If your strategy has a negative expectancy, risk management will only make you lose your money more slowly [02:10]. - Lowering your risk doesn't solve consistency issues, as execution errors and rule-breaking will still occur regardless of lot size [09:59]. - Professional traders use risk management to protect their emotional capital and maintain consistent execution [11:32]. - Markets don't blow accounts; destructive behaviors like revenge trading, overtrading, and moving stop losses do [13:17]. - Vatsal shares how a desire to 'show results' led him to force a low-probability trade on his second day back after a long break [19:15]. - Scaling down risk percentage during drawdowns (e.g., from 1% to 0.25%) makes recovering losses exponentially more difficult [27:00]. - Beginners should trade a size that allows them to execute their plan comfortably without triggering emotional distress [35:32]. 2915: The Best Workout Programs Combos For Any Goal: Muscle, Strength, Fat Loss, and More

Buy one get one free, pick your combo: https://mapsbogo.com   One of the most common questions the guys is also one of the simplest: what program should I run next? It matters more than most people think. Stack the wrong two programs back to back and you leave gains on the table. Stack the right two and you buy yourself six months of near zero plateaus, real strength PRs, and a body that keeps changing every week. In this episode, Sal, Adam, and Justin stop making you guess and lay out the definitive MAPS program pairings for every major goal.   They cover advanced muscle gain, pure strength, fat loss for both women and men (and why the programming is different), total beginners and postpartum lifters, athletic performance, and the people who barely have time to breathe, let alone train five days a week. For every goal you get the exact two program combo, why that order works, what each program sets up for the next, and the most common mistake people make by skipping steps. If you have ever jumped straight into a high volume program and wondered why you burned out, this is the explanation you needed.   There is a real buy one get one free deal running right now at mapsbogo.com, and you pick the combo. $157 gets you two full programs. The guys walk through every recommendation, so by the end of the episode you will know exactly which two to grab.   In this episode: MAPS Anabolic anchors almost every combo: it builds the strength and training frequency foundation that makes every follow up program far more effective, whether the goal is muscle, strength, or fat loss. The single biggest mistake the guys see from customers: jumping straight into MAPS Aesthetic without running Anabolic first. Aesthetic's volume is genuinely high, and the body is not ready to absorb it without that base. Fat loss for women is MAPS PowerLift, then MAPS Muscle Mommy. PowerLift builds the metabolic base and preserves muscle in a deficit, while Muscle Mommy targets the glutes, delts, and lower body that women most want to keep while getting lean. MAPS 40+ trades traditional back squats for box squats and straight bar deadlifts for trap bar deadlifts, cutting joint stress while hitting the identical movement patterns, and adds specific lifestyle recommendations for the higher stress loads that come with being over 40. For beginners and postpartum women alike, the prescription is MAPS Starter, then MAPS Anywhere. Treat yourself as a total beginner no matter your training history, because the body control and positional strength you build here pay enormous dividends on every loaded program that follows. The athletic performance combo is MAPS Symmetry first, then MAPS Performance. Symmetry's isometric and unilateral work corrects left to right imbalances and builds the ability to contract and control the body that sports demand, before performance specific training gets layered on. In a fat loss phase, the real success metric is maintaining strength on the key lifts, not the mirror. Holding strength in a deficit proves muscle is being preserved even when the scale or the reflection does not show obvious change. MAPS 15 paired with MAPS Anywhere is not just for the time crunched: the guys explicitly recommend it for anyone who is overworked, stressed, or grinding five to six day splits with diminishing returns, because scaling back volume often produces better results.   Chapters: 0:29 MAPS BOGO Deal Intro 0:44 Sponsor: Vuori 1:28 Episode Overview: Best Program Combos 3:11 Advanced Muscle Gain Combo 5:49 Why MAPS Aesthetic Follows Anabolic 7:43 Strength Goal Combo 9:10 Fat Loss Combos: Women and Men 9:37 Fat Loss for Women: PowerLift + Muscle Mommy 12:05 Fat Loss for Men: 40+ and Anabolic 15:59 Beginners and Postpartum: Starter + Anywhere 19:42 Athletic Performance Combo 21:03 Time-Restricted Combo: MAPS 15 + Anywhere   Sponsors: Vuori: https://vuoriclothing.com/mindpump
