Ole André forvalter FIRST Impact og FIRST Global Focus.

Methadone Dose and Patient-Directed Discharge in Hospitalized Patients with Opioid Use Disorder JAMA Network This retrospective observational cohort study of 554 individuals examined rates of patient-directed discharge (PDD) among hospitalized patients with opioid use disorder who received methadone during the first 72 hours of hospitalization from July 2019 to June 2022. Higher doses of methadone were associated with a decreased rate of PDD. For each additional 10 mg of methadone received in the first 24 hours, there was a decrease in odds of PDD at 48 hours (adjusted OR 0.71). This study highlights the importance of adequate treatment of opioid withdrawal to reduce the risk of PDD. Read this issue of the ASAM Weekly Subscribe to the ASAM Weekly Visit ASAM

Wall Street hits record highs - but one AI stock just triggered a brutal reality check. US markets rally even as fears of an AI bubble intensify, after Oracle plunges on weak earnings and heavy debt taken on to fund its AI ambitions. Michelle Martin and Ryan Huang unpack why Oracle’s so-called “Code Red” moment has investors questioning the sustainability of AI infrastructure spending, especially with OpenAI as a key client. They also turn to Broadcom, where booming AI chip sales fail to lift the stock, raising fresh questions about valuation, expectations and sentiment. Back home, DBS turns bullish on Singapore developers, lifting targets for CDL, UOL and GuocoLand - but are the buy calls justified? In UP or DOWN, fists fly at PDD during a China audit, Hongkong Land and Keppel REIT reshuffle MBFC, Seatrium lands a major green-energy contract, and noodle maker Leong Guan debuts strong. Plus, Disney’s billion-dollar bet on OpenAI sparks a lighter question on which iconic characters could soon come alive in AI - hosted by Michelle Martin with Ryan Huang.See omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.

In this episode, No Film School's GG Hawkins, and guests discuss… How the SNL editorial team collaborated on the 50th Anniversary special, blending archival material and creative reels into a unified piece. The rediscovery of forgotten gems—like Tom Hanks's softball clip—and deciding what made the final cut. Technical and generational shifts in editing: from film and DIY workflows to 4K raw editing, searchable transcripts, advanced VFX, and speedy turnaround. Adapting to new creative tools, such as APM's sound‑alike search and 3D animation techniques like the Cheeto character. Balancing fast cuts with breathing room—tailoring pacing to fit the tone, whether it's surreal whimsy or a more paced parody like White Lotus. Managing chaos: keeping cool under pressure during live edits, system failures, and last-minute creative changes. Advice for aspiring SNL editors: start as assistant editors, build a strong reel (even outside comedy), check your ego at the door, and learn the collaborative workflow. Memorable Quotes “It really was just this kind of like hot, like this sort of like melting pot of ideas…” “Tom Hanks is playing softball with these kids… he's playing the real version of Tom Hanks… super competitive.” “We've jumped to 4K and we're editing raw… now you're transcribing your sequences too… What a game changer.” “Every joke to the frame pretty much.” “It's a learned craft… some people could do it and some people can.” Guests Ryan Spears is a Film Unit editor at SNL and four time Emmy nominee for work including “I'm Just Pete”, “Mario Kart”, and “Murder Show”. He's also cut for the shows “The Amber Ruffin Show”, “Teenage Euthanasia”, the film “Citizen Weiner” and the Hulu standup “Matteo Lane: The Al Dente Special”. He's currently a commercial editor based in New York at The Den Editorial. Daniel Garcia – Daniel Garcia has been a video editor at SNL for 10 years. His work on the show includes editing weekly promos, pretapes such as PDD's “Hard Seltzer”, and the Emmy winning digital series Creating SNL. S&P futures are pointing to a slightly lower open today, down 0.2%. Asian markets closed mostly lower today, and European equity markets are also weaker in early trades. President Trump announced the dismissal of Fed Governor Lisa Cook, citing alleged mortgage fraud and gross negligence. Cook, whose term runs until 2038, disputes Trump's authority to remove her and may seek an injunction to challenge the decision. Market analysts suggest that Cook's removal, combined with broader political interference, could weaken the dollar, steepen the Treasury yield curve, and undermine inflation-fighting efforts.Companies mentioned: Invesco, PDD, CSX Corp, Berkshire Hathaway

This week's podcast is about search-focused vs. interaction / engagement focused ecommerce. And a lot about Pinduoduo. You can listen to this podcast here, which has the slides and graphics mentioned. Also available at iTunes and Google Podcasts. Here is the link to the TechMoat Consulting. Here is the link to our Tech Tours.Interaction / engagement-focused product has three dimensions:Recommendations. This is passive consumption, not active searching. So that means machine learning-powered newsfeeds. Basically, just like TikTok and Instagram.Entertainment. That means features, games, and videos.Community. This is about tapping into group behavior. You want active communication and sharing between users. And on social networks. You also want livestreaming with friends. And, if possible, you want group buying.I think there are two archetypes for interaction-focused ecommerce.Type 1: Newsfeed based. That's TikTok. That's the sushi train restaurants. This is TikTok Shop is a good example of this. With lots of little purchases. Mostly based on whose videos you like to watch and what surprises show up in your feed.Type 2: Carnival based. That's early PDD. It's lots of games. Which is very different than TikTok Shop.Alibaba has three interesting use cases for ecommerce. The Power of Livestreaming in EcommerceImage-Based Search Changes the Way We Find ProductsConversational SearchPhoto by Hugh Han on Unsplash——--I am a consultant and keynote speaker on how to accelerate growth with improving customer experiences (CX) and digital moats.I am a partner at TechMoat Consulting, a consulting firm specialized in how to increase growth with improved customer experiences (CX), personalization and other types of customer value.
