Brian O'Nora was the home plate umpire for last night's Astros-Padres game. The Astros players (namely Caleb Ferguson) and coaches (Alex Cintron) didn't like his work. Adam Clanton is not a huge fan of Brian O'Nora the guy. O'Nora was arrested as part of a 'buying-sex-via-the-internet' sting in Liberty Township, OH. in 2020. He would eventually plead down to lesser misdemeanor charges. However, Clanton cannot stand that O'Nora continues to be a Major League Baseball umpire.
Astros Hitting Coach Alex Cintron joined The Bench to talk about how he goes about his job with specific players and helps them achieve success.

The Houston Astros have been having downright zero fun recently, and you just absolutely hate to see it happen to such an upstanding organization. We look at this weekend's brawl featuring Oakland A's Ramon Laureano and what led up to it, why Alex Cintron is soft, and whether Rob Manfred will continue to protect his favorite team. We also discuss Houston getting throttled and walked-off in subsequent nights at the hands of a last-place, no good Arizona Diamondbacks team, how the AL West will finish, and why the Oakland A's are baseball's best team right now. Later in the episode we break down the recent news of Zach Plesac and Mike Clevinger breaking MLB's health protocols, how this affects the Cleveland Indians, what contributed to the poor decision, and whether this affects the team's chances to make the postseason. We discuss whether or not the St. Louis Cardinals will ever play another game and what their schedule looks like moving forward before closing out the show with our Props segment and listener DMs.
We are now three weeks into the 2020 MLB season, and Nick and Pat return to break down where the Cubs and White Sox stand. Both teams had decent weeks, with the Cubs' week falling a couple games short due to the Cardinals' COVID-19 struggles. The guys discuss the most recent Astros related saga, with former White Sox player and LinkedIn Player Profile feature Alex Cintron inciting a brawl against the A's. This week's episode concludes with a LinkedIn Player Profile segment featuring two players that left huge "What If" questions unanswered during their times in Chicago. --- This episode is sponsored by · Anchor: The easiest way to make a podcast. https://anchor.fm/app

Today's word of the day is 'now what' as in now what's going to happen in the Big Ten? The conference Presidents have voted and football will not be played this fall. It hopes to play in the Spring, but who knows. Scott Frost talked on Monday and said we will play. Jim Harbaugh released a statement on Monday that Michigan wants to play football and they're prepared to do so. None of that will be happening so... now what (0:06)? Let's give an update on the Cleveland Indians. Mike Clevenger was caught out with Zach Plesac, and he was sent home too. What an absolute mess this has become (18:09)! And now MLB hands down suspensions for Astros hitting coach Alex Cintron and Athletics player Ramon Laureano. 20 games for Cintron and 6 games for Laureano. Was that deserved (22:06)? How about MLB players deciding to opt-out now? Well it's happened to the New York Mets. Pitcher Marcus Stroman who was coming back from a calf injury decided to opt-out of the season once he was able to accrue enough service time to become a free agent after this season (29:17). Review - The Secret: Dare to Dream (38:40). Let's end the show talking about injuries in MLB again.
