He is later joined by Jonah Birenbaum, Senior Editor at TheScore, who outlines why the Jays have reasons to be optimistic as they head into the playoffs and why it would be a mistake to underestimate the Twins. In the latter part of the hour, Jon Morosi from MLB Network joins, opening with praise the potential farewells of four sure-fire Hall of Famers, including Cabrera, Wainwright, Greinke, and Votto. They then dive deep into a preview of Wild Card week, discussing all four matchups, including the Jays/Twins series, and debating the MLB's decision to go with dual overlap games versus a quadruple-header format (31:05). We have an Indepenence Day roundup for you from fireworks shows to hot dog eating contests... and a new Travis Kelce ad for Bud Light. We have some catching up to do... it was a long weekend. The White House must be in utter chaos today after a federal judge has stopped them from any more coordination with social media coverage censoring conservatives or any policies they disagree with. Oh, and the secret service found cocaine in the West Wing. This is the worst presidency in history as even Jimmy Carter seems more compitent. Jobs numbers are in for the first half of 2023 and while neighboring states are all adding thousands of jobs, Kansas Governor Laura Kelly and her vetoes have led to losses. The numbers are shocking. And Zack Greinke gets hammered by the Twins and leaves with shoulder fatigue. He's been a great pitcher and a nice guy but he's now part of the problem, too.
Matt Quartraro joins the show talks 4th of July, Greinke injury, Salvy making his 8th All-Star game, and what he will be doing during the break.

We start with the obvious 4 - Miguel Cabrera, Clayton Kershaw, Max Scherzer and Justin Verlander. But Mike Trout is already in HOFer in our book. But how about Joey Votto? Zach Greinke? Evan Longoria? Evan Longoria!!!? Since Cabrera is retiring after this year and playing beyond this season is not certain with Kershaw, Votto, and Greinke, you do well to watch these players carefully as it may be for the last time! There are players who've played more than 8 MLB seasons that we talk about who are either on track and need more time to achieve HOF status, We also discuss others that had a good start but kind of fizzled out. It's draft night in KC and there's not doubt this town is ready to party. But let's get to meat of the whole thing and discuss the Chiefs options. I believe they should only be considering these two positions for a player in the first round and we'll list 9 different players that are possibilities. Will one of these be the guy or do the Chiefs surprise everyone? The Royals are off to Minnesota where Zack Greinke takes an incredible, unbelievable streak into his start Thursday night. They also discuss the secret videos of prospects being told that they've made the opening day roster and why they like them so much. While picking World Series matchups, Hannah goes with Mariners/Padres in the “every outcome is a good outcome” series and Zach picks a sequel to the Yankees/Mets Subway Series because baseball is more fun with a villain (or two) to root against. Finally, they both bandwagon for some old pitchers in the upcoming season. Zach is watching and rooting for the future HOF pitchers that we'll get to watch this year (Kershaw, Verlander, Scherzer, Greinke) while Hannah has her eyes set on Johnny Cueto of the Miami Marlins.00:45 Closing the book on Spring Training04:30 Secret videos of prospects finding out they made the team15:25 World Series matchups that we want to see36:00 Bandwagon: HOF Pitchers44:40 Bandwagon: Johnny CuetoCheck out the rest of the Yahoo Sports podcast family at https://apple.co/3zEuTQj or at Yahoo Sports PodcastsSee Privacy Policy at https://art19.com/privacy and California Privacy Notice at https://art19.com/privacy#do-not-sell-my-info.

Joe Biden has told America, "we're not going to be in a recession," and nobody believes him. Trending on social, then, is a new term called Bidenpression. Would he like that better? In Japan, a Navy officer that had a seizure behind the wheel leading to two deaths is sentenced to three years in jail. This was an unavoidable accident by a man dedicating his life to protecting the people of Japan. This is an outrageous story from an ally country that clearly doesn't respect us anymore. We have two new Missouri Senate polls that indicated two different front runners. Patrick Mahomes says his foot work has been sloppy and it's the main focus of what he's working on while Zack Greinke climbs a list to a huge milestone in the Royals win Monday night.
We know violent crime in America is through the roof but there is a shocking new murder statistic that could be the key to why so many people are not afraid to commit these crimes. The G7 leaders and Vladimir Putin keep trading jabs at each other mocking their lifestyles. Are these really the people with nuclear codes or 8 year olds on a playground? Royals pitcher Zack Greinke hits quite a milestone as the Royals beat the Rangers. The Big 12's hiring of Brett Yormark is a pretty clear move that this league is moving away from football and toward basketball as the emphasis and identity of the league. And shock jock Howard Stern says he's probably running for president. Wait until you hear his three issue platform.
A reporter covering the Stanley Cup Finals crossed the line in the locker room celebrating with the Avalanche players and then posted it on social. There has to be more to this story. Royals pitcher Zack Greinke has allegedly dissed a Royals fan in a big way. Some think its funny. Meanwhile, Vinnie Pasquantino has arrived at the K in his 2015 Ford Escape. His journey to KC is one to celebrate and he's easy to root for. The Amtrak crash about an hour from KC has killed three and injured 50. All the locals say they predicted this would happen and one man has been trying to get signals at three crossings there for over two years. And there's one more SCOTUS case that we're waiting on and for me, this is a bigger deal than the cases grabbing the headlines. I'll fill you in on one that could change America for the better going forward.
