Today, on the podcast, my friend Ruthie Kim is here! After years of leading a thriving non-profit organization, Ruthie felt God compelling her to pass on the baton. She realized that sometimes stepping away makes room for others to step fully into their potential. She was willing to move on so that others could move up. How incredible is that? Ruthie shares what that discernment process was like, how she combatted perfectionism in the midst of the transition, and how she desires to help everyone around her unlock their potential. You're in for a treat today, my friends! Ruthie Kim is an executive coach, an ordained minister, and a member of the teaching team at Reality SF church. She is a prophetically gifted and sought-after speaker and a relentless advocate for women and girls. Having grown up in the UK, Ruthie traded in the English countryside for the inner city of San Francisco, where she founded Because Justice Matters, an organization building pathways to brighter futures for women and girls in urban communities. Ruthie's passion for unlocking potential led her into the world of executive coaching, where she now specializes in working with influential leaders at key moments of transition. Ruthie loves taking her rescue pup, Callie, for walks on the beach and hunting for travel deals to satisfy her desire to explore and experience new places. Ruthie's life and work are greatly inspired and enriched by being a wife to Brian and mom to two boys.
At 18, Ruthie Kim took a risk: she left her quiet village in the UK for the noisy city of San Francisco because she heard God tell her to go show His love to people on the streets. She admits now she had a ton to learn and one thing she learned from personal experience is this: when we take a risk and step out of our comfort zone, that's when we unlock our God-given potential. She now teaches and coaches others to do the same. She doesn't want to leave anything on the table; to not live out all that God's given her to serve alongside of Him for His kingdom I love that kind of surrender. I want to do the same: "Lord, show me what I'm missing. All great gifts are from You. I want to open them all, even the risky ones. Amen." Ep. 004 - “Doing it scared” may sound hard to believe coming from this week's powerhouse guest, Ruthie Kim, who has been doing just that over the past two decades. We The People have had to contend with an unending stream of crime, abuse and corruption from the administration of Donald J. Trump. Come January, when we have a law-abiding president and a law-enforcing attorney general, it will be time for accountability. As a 30-year federal prosecutor, I can assure you that there can be no healing without accountability. There can be no deterring other political criminals without accountability. There can b no justice without accountability. When it comes to political criminals, we've had to learn this lesson the hard way. Gerald Ford pardoned Richard Nixon, depriving the country of healing, of accountability and of justice. Indeed, the pardoning of Richard Nixon gave birth to the Donald Trump presidency. This time, there can be no "let's let bygones be bygones." This time there can be no turning the other cheek. This time there must be no putting our long national nightmare behind us by DECLINING to hold a criminal president accountable. This time there must be accountability. This time there must be justice. Because Justice Matters.
