Ep. 004 - “Doing it scared” may sound hard to believe coming from this week's powerhouse guest, Ruthie Kim, who has been doing just that over the past two decades. Her commitment to hearing and following God's voice partnered with her heart for the marginalized is what brought her to the US from the UK, eventually leading her to found the San Francisco- based non-profit, Because Justice Matters. During this conversation, Ruthie vulnerably shares how she leverages the support of her husband, community and foundation with God to speak truth to the lies that arise each time she steps out in faith. Ruthie is a mother, wife, executive coach, ordained minister, global speaker and is now launching Golden, a retreat in Maui, September 2022, for women desiring rest and refreshment after an anxiety laiden couple of years. Ep.003: Sometimes it takes losing yourself to know who you truly are and was all along. That was the case for this week's guest, Austin-based artist and muralist Brittany Johnson, aka. @brittpaintsalot. From the moment they met in high school, Stefani saw Britt as a natural artist. Whether it was through a paintbrush, pencils, makeup or the piano, something beautiful was on the other side of Britt's touch. These days Britt gets commissioned to paint legends like Loretta Lynn and partner with companies like Bumble but it took a few detours as a New York City preschool teacher to occupational therapist in Florida to get there. In 2016 she could no longer ignore her soul's pull to move to Austin. That leap of faith led Britt to her artist community, partner and sweetest pup (@charliefluffydog), stoking her creativity and welcoming her home to her True Artist Self. This conversation is a sweet mix of nostalgia and vulnerability as Britt shares the highs and lows of finding her way back “home”. We also talk about: Pivotal moments that led her away from and back to artFeeling out of alignment and her move to AustinHow she transitioned from part time occupational therapist to going all in as a muralist during the pandemicThe spirituality of being a creativeMaintaining confidence and getting her art noticedThe importance of community and the people we surround ourselves withHer decision to go (mostly) sober it impactHer vision for the future How she determines her rates and stands in her worthRead Britt's full bio in the show notes at https://www.stefanimccullah.com/podcastConnect with Britt!Instagram: @brittpaintsalot (and her dog) @charliefluffydogCommission her work: https://brittpaintsalot.com/Be a part of the community @MovementsoulcollectivepodConnect with StefaniInstagram: @stefani_mccullah
