On Monday, Syrian President Ahmed al-Sharaa became the first Syrian leader to visit the White House. That alone would have been noteworthy ... But Al-Sharaa, who assumed leadership of Syria after leading a rebel group that overthrew the Assad regime, was previously a militant in an al-Qaeda-linked group and was captured by American forces while fighting against the U.S. in Iraq in 2006. However, the once anti-American extremist is now working with the Trump Administration on securing his country and the region. Earlier this week, FOX News senior correspondent Benjamin Hall joined the Rundown's Dave Anthony to discuss Monday's extraordinary White House meeting, President Ahmed al-Sharaa's "rough past" and his unusual journey to the Oval Office. *This episode contains mature content. This week, we’ll hear from war correspondent Benjamin Hall, who has spent much of his career reporting from some of the world’s most dangerous conflict zones. In 2022, while covering the war in Ukraine, he was gravely injured in an attack that killed two of his colleagues. Today, he shares how that harrowing experience challenged his limits and instilled in him the unshakeable belief that we all have the strength to overcome—no matter what we face. Later in the episode, we’ll hear from author and life coach Chris Janssen as she shares her firsthand experience with alcoholism and the path to recovery. Now, through her journey of sobriety, Chris uses the lessons learned from her lowest moments to help others rise to new heights. I make it drive me to be better, make it drive me to go into things that I think would inspire them and make them happy.” - Benjamin Hall “You mustn’t let fear disable you. You’ve got to address it, but also not run from it. I think that the worst thing you can do is hide from them, run from them, pretend they didn’t happen.” - Benjamin Hall “We are survival machines—humans. If you can channel your feelings, if you can talk to God, if you can find the strength you need, you can get through absolutely anything.” - Benjamin Hall “Everyone has resilience. I suppose what’s difficult is learning how to really use it. I always managed to find the beauty in every day while acknowledging loss. I think that’s something that is so important for people to learn—how to balance those two things in your life and not let the loss overwhelm you, but how to let the positive really guide you.” - Benjamin Hall “I just think anybody, regardless of how you grew up, can get caught in the snare of addiction.” - Chris Janssen “When the shame and guilt flew off my shoulders, my belief changed from I’m a monster to I’m deserving of recovery and community and sobriety because I’m addicted to alcohol.” - Chris Janssen “To me, physical wellness leads to emotional wellness.” - Chris Janssen “The way I describe sobriety is more than abstinence—it’s a lifestyle, not an event. I don’t believe I’m giving something up by sobriety, I’m gaining something. And what’s gained is my life, my memories, my presence with people, my ability to have fun.” - Chris Janssen “I felt like everything I did, I had to earn it, and that’s the opposite of grace. When we live in a mindset of control, we’re unable to accept grace. We’re taking control of our own worthiness, and we don’t get to do that. God has said we’re worthy and valuable no matter what.” - Chris Janssen ________________________ Enjoy watching these additional videos from Jesus Calling YouTube channel! On Thursday's Mark Levin Show, President Trump and Elon Musk and Donald Trump are key figures working to save the country, but they face strong resistance from Democrats and the ruling class, who will use procedural tactics to stall progress, much like they did with Ronald Reagan. Judges are becoming more politically extreme, with actions like blocking DOGE's access to Social Security data and rulings on transgender military bans, while Sen Chuck Schumer's admission of politicized judicial appointments confirms these concerns. Democrats know which judges will deliver for them. Democrats, though unpopular, hold sway over unelected government branches. When they win elections, they tout it as a public mandate, but when Republicans prevail, they shift focus to these unelected entities to retain influence, which they are doing now. Also, Musk's legal team should explore filing tortious interference lawsuits against individuals, including members of Congress, who are attempting to undermine Tesla. Congressional immunity under the Speech and Debate Clause does not apply when statements are made outside of Congress or are unrelated to official legislative duties. Those orchestrating, financing, or executing efforts to harm Tesla could potentially be held accountable, making this an avenue worth investigating thoroughly. Later, Benjamin Hall calls in to discuss his new book, Resolute: How We Humans Keep Finding Ways to Beat the Toughest Odds. Learn more about your ad choices. Visit podcastchoices.com/adchoices

President Trump is set to speak with Russian President Vladimir Putin today to discuss a possible end to the war in Ukraine. Last week, Ukraine agreed to a thirty-day ceasefire, but Russia rejected the terms proposed by Ukraine. FOX News Senior Correspondent and host of the Searching For Heroes podcast, Benjamin Hall, joins to preview the likely sticking points in the Ukraine-Russia peace talks and to discuss his new book, “Resolute: How We Humans Keep Finding Ways to Beat the Toughest Odds.” In the first few months of his second term, the President has been making good on his campaign promise to end Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion initiatives across the federal government. Now that President Trump has signed executive orders steering the federal government away from the policies, the business world is following his lead, with dozens of companies reversing course on DEI. Conservative activist Robby Starbuck joins the Rundown to discuss how the movement began long before President Trump took back the White House and why he believes there has been such an overwhelming show of support to end DEI initiatives and step away from a "woke" agenda. Plus, commentary from the host of “Tomi Lahren is Fearless on Outkick,” Tomi Lahren. Photo Credit: AP Learn more about your ad choices. Visit podcastchoices.com/adchoices
