Donald Trump REALLY doesn't want you to listen to this episode of Making the Case. Trump's name is in the Epstein files, and despite his best efforts to distract the general public, Republicans and Democrats alike aren't willing to let this go.Why was Maxwell transferred to a cushier prison mere days after her interview with the Deputy Attorney General? Why hasn't the DOJ investigated the financial aspects of the case? And do Bondi and Patel really believe their phony efforts to obtain Grand Jury documents will quell public outrage? In this episode of Making the Case, Senator Whitehouse discusses all these questions and more with Congressman Ro Khanna. Follow Senator Whitehouse on Twitter, Bluesky, Instagram, TikTok, and Facebook for all the latest updates on Making the Case.
Don goes solo this week and covers the wild state of “investing” in 2025 — including single-stock ETFs, leveraged funds, and zero-day options that look more like gambling than investing. He answers listener questions about Roth strategies for kids, aggressive long-term allocations, finding fiduciary advisors, dealing with inherited stock portfolios, and the ethics and fees of big Wall Street firms. Plus, he fields questions about new tax-focused ETFs and whether complicated multi-fund factor strategies are really worth the trouble. 0:04 Don jokes about ChatGPT replacing him, welcomes listeners 1:53 Today's topic: 30% of new ETFs are tied to single stocks — “this is gambling” 4:27 Zero-day options and high-frequency trading likened to sports betting 5:23 Congressman Ro Khanna's 2,800 trades this year — four per market day 6:12 Don's call to stop pretending this is investing 8:16 Caller Mike: 3 kids with $100k+ Roths each — aggressive allocation recommendations (AVUV, AVGE, DFAW, 100% equity) 12:24 International weighting debate — Don likes 60/40 global tilt 15:34 Caller Dan from Israel: How to confirm if an advisor is a fiduciary; why inheriting stocks isn't a reason to keep them 18:08 Transitioning from stocks to ETFs while minimizing capital gains 22:23 Caller Laura: Ethical concerns with J.P. This is a free preview of a paid episode. To hear more, visit smokeempodcast.substack.comInvestigative journalist Michael Tracey is hard to pin down, maybe because he doesn't play for one team. A journo in the old-fashioned “stick-poking” mode, Michael started debating Sarah on his own introduction before she was half-way through. Fair enough! We go on to discuss Charlie Kirk — whom Tracey sees as a “mouthpiece” for the administration — and then go deep on the Epstein Files, which Tracey tore into, in part, because no one else was. You might be surprised at the gap between the wild fantasy spun online and the facts on the ground. We disagree on a lot (who doesn't?), but Tracey has done some of the most honest journalism on Epstein — a case everyone talks about, and few people know. He's also stood up for free speech, something that's getting crushed as the right discovers their own powers of cancel culture. Also discussed:* Wikipedia suuuucks* Why Michael thinks Kirk is not a martyr* Pro tip: Don't bring up that Ann Coulter story from Michael's college years in your intro … * Charlie Kirk the podcaster vs. Charlie Kirk the campus debater* OK, well since the Ann Coulter story was already brought up, here it is …* What happens when your ACLU lawyer is drunk* The Jewish mafia of Ohio* Epstein Survivors, Inc.* The accusers in the Epstein saga are … complicated* Was Epstein murdered in prison? It's not impossible!Plus, Nancy on the erotic power of 16-year-old girls, Sarah on vigilante justice-by-internet, Michael explains Nintendo Switch 2, and much more!Marjorie Taylor Greene gets Michael thrown out of a press conference that Ro Khanna invited him to. In this episode, Don and Tom dig into the podcast rankings to explain why Talking Real Money isn't at the top—and why Dave Ramsey still is, despite offering more shame than substance. They explore the concept of financial shaming vs. education, reflect on listener Judy's brilliant retirement planning, and take aim at stock-trading politicians, especially California Rep. Ro Khanna with his 4,700+ trades in one year. Listener questions cover inheritance allocation, condos as investments, and 401(k) vs. Roth vs. brokerage savings. Bonus: Tom yells at his grandkids, Don hates condos, and Congress gets roasted. 0:04 Who's #1 in investing podcasts? Robert F. Kennedy Jr. was summoned to a Senate finance subcommittee hearing and was met with bipartisan skewering. The most notable moments being RFK being cornered into explaining his anti-vax actions as head of HHS while also glomming on about his boss' (Donald Trump) "Operation Warp Speed" by GOP Senator Bill Cassidy, and Rev. Senator Raphael Warnock flatly stating that he is "a hazard to the health of the American people." It isn't just the man in the office; it's the entire "anti-vaccine" movement that has Florida's surgeon general pursuing an end to vaccine mandates for public schools in that state. Next family trip to Disney or Universal, imagine the kids around yours in line for those rides and guess if they're vaccinated. Might you be reconsidering taking that trip? ------The Trump 2.0 presidency isn't just doggedly stupid on public health, but Don's persistence on triggering trade wars has the American economy teetering towards recession if the latest jobs reports are any indication. Odd that an account I cited (Investq) was suspended by the X platform, by the way. They cited various uncertainties, including disruption of the labor market - as might happen when ICE is raiding a Hyundai plant in southeast Georgia. ------The new wrinkle in the Epstein saga comes from a DOJ staffer telling a woman on a first date (wow, what a flex) that his agency is working feverishly to redact/remove Republicans from the Epstein files while leaving Democrats exposed. Meanwhile, Marjorie Taylor Greene is being praised from the likes of Democratic House Rep. Ro Khanna and AJC op/ed writer/reporter Patricia Murphy for remaining dogged in her pursuit of the files' relesae.
The ghost of Jeffrey Epstein. Another government shutdown. The U.S. military shooting down a boat. The Centers for Disease Control is in turmoil just ahead of flu season. And where in the world will the National Guard go next? This is the world Congress returned to this week. If your head is spinning, you're not the only one. This week on The Intercept Briefing, we break it all down with host Akela Lacy and politics reporters Jessica Washington and Matt Sledge. “The biggest thing hanging over everybody is this looming shutdown,” says Sledge. Congress needs to negotiate a budget extension before a potential October 1 shutdown. And, as Sledge notes, there are a handful of expected fights this session that could hamstring Congress. “There are a million other things happening on Capitol Hill. There's a big defense bill working its way through the House and Senate. And then there's this whole Epstein situation,” he says, “which threatens to derail everything else.”On Wednesday morning, Reps. Thomas Massie, R-KY, and Ro Khanna, D-CA, held a press conference with Epstein's victims, where they announced a bill to force a vote to release the full Department of Justice investigation into the late Jeffrey Epstein.“Democrats are saying, well, this is something we should do regardless, it is very clearly also a political issue in the sense that Trump has a real weakness with his base,” says Washington. “Democrats perhaps were slow to understand how much of a political liability this was for Trump. But they're waking up, and this does very clearly seem to be an issue that is, if not partisan — obviously we're seeing Republicans join in as well — deeply political in nature.”Listen to the full conversation of The Intercept Briefing on Apple Podcasts, Spotify, or wherever you listen. You can support our work at theintercept.com/join. The Rickey Smiley Morning Show Podcast opened with a powerful and emotional call for accountability as Jeffrey Epstein survivors spoke out on Capitol Hill, urging Congress and former President Trump to stop dismissing their trauma as a "hoax" and to release all related files. Their push, backed by bipartisan lawmakers like Reps. Thomas Massie and Ro Khanna, has reignited the fight for transparency and justice. The survivors’ demand resonates with the broader movement insisting that only full disclosure can pave the path to healing. Adding spice to social media chatter, Kelly Price went on a viral rant, candidly calling out Black women—including herself—and Black men for being “nasty” and “disrespectful” online, all while passionately addressing how public scrutiny has fueled her emotional expression. Meanwhile, Montell Jordan set the record straight about his health—reporting that he is not cancer-free and is still undergoing treatment after prostate cancer returned to his lymph nodes. He continues to advocate for early detection and is working on a documentary to share his journey. Today in D.C., a group of Jeffrey Epstein survivors stood with Reps. Thomas Massie and Ro Khanna and said they'll compile their own “client list” while pressing Congress to force the full release of the Epstein files. The discharge petition to bring the Epstein Files Transparency Act to a floor vote is now within striking distance—if all Dems sign, only two more Republicans are needed. We break down what the survivors vowed, what Congress can actually do next, and why today's massive document dump still left everyone asking for the real files.#EpsteinFiles #ReleaseTheFiles #CapitolHillGet more AoA and become a member to get exclusive access to perks:https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCOfx0OFE-uMTmJXGPpP7elQ/joinGet Erin C's book here: https://amzn.to/3ITDoO7Get Merch here - https://bit.ly/AnthonyMerchSubscribe to the Anthony On Air Podcast here:Facebook - https://bit.ly/AntOnAirFBYouTube - https://bit.ly/AntOnAirYTApple Podcast - https://bit.ly/AntOnAirAppleSpotify - https://bit.ly/AntOnAirSpotTwitter - https://bit.ly/AntOnAirTwitterInstagram - https://bit.ly/AntOnAirInstaTikTok - https://www.tiktok.com/@anthonyonairpodDiscord - https://discord.gg/78V469aV22Get more at https://www.AnthonyOnAir.com

SEASON 4 EPISODE 9: COUNTDOWN WITH KEITH OLBERMANN A-Block (1:45) SPECIAL COMMENT: Of course Trump’s not dead. On the other hand, how could you really TELL? But this much is clear: He’s never voluntarily STFU for five days before in his effing life. And how could his own White House have possibly made it look MORE like he was dead! Or is desperately ill. Or had surgery. Or is having surgery. Or… what? They maximized the ways that conspiracy theories could build – including that 3-1/2 hour Cabinet Meeting/Comedy Roast/Dear Leader Circle Jerk last week. If that didn’t look like a farewell event I don’t know what could. I don't know what's really going on and YOU don't know what's really going on and America doesn't know what's really going on (except that the media has completely dropped the ball, not even covering the rumors let alone providing solid information). But there are lots of provable facts in the last five days of Trump MIA that might explain what's going on at a White House that couldn't manage radio silence. PLUS: Trump's desire to boast about the Covid vaccine, the hallucinations of Kristi Noem and Bobby "What Kind of Mitochondria Are You Wearing" Kennedy, the solution to baseball's Tommy John Surgery crisis that isn't a crisis, and a farewell to the beloved Mrs. Weiner. B-Block (32:50) THE WORST PERSONS IN THE WORLD: As soon as the staff of Vanity Fair threatened to walk off if they put Melania Trump on the cover, she leaked a story to the NY Post that she didn't have time to be on their stupid cover anyway (she was on it in 2017). Candace Owens is back and now blaming the Minnesota school shooting on the government bid to take away your guns. So Trump is trying to take away your guns? And expanding kinda late into 9/11 trutherism, nitwit fascist Tucker Carlson gets the YEAR that 9/11 happened, wrong. C-Block (43:20) THINGS I PROMISED NOT TO TELL/SPORTSBALL CENTER: So another all-star baseball pitcher, Randy Rodriguez, needs Tommy John Surgery. So baseball is back with preposterous solutions to the "crisis" of too many such surgeries. I'll offer two rules changes that would really do the job, but more importantly I would suggest that Tommy John Surgery is one of the most positive improvements in baseball in the last 60 years. The same percentage of pitchers get injured as they did in 1965, only in 1965 there was nothing to do when they tore up their elbow, shoulder, or anything else.See omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.

LightSpeed VT: https://www.lightspeedvt.com/ Dropping Bombs Podcast: https://www.droppingbombs.com/ In this riveting Part 2 finale, Roger Stone opens up to Brad Lea about surviving a rigged trial, Deep State plots, and his spiritual awakening that changed everything. Convicted of lying about the Russian collusion hoax (now proven false by DNI Tulsi Gabbard's declassifications showing Obama and Clinton's roles), Stone details suppressed evidence, gag orders, and fears of dying in prison. He exposes Epstein's "butler's list," Trump's clean break, and chilling laptop rumors amid DOJ's recent Capitol Hill file drops (mostly recycled, with calls for full release from Rep. Ro Khanna and Trump signals). Stone predicts Tulsi Gabbard as America's first woman president (she hasn't ruled out 2028), Clintons' potential indictments (amid subpoenas and ethics complaints on Hillary's Russia role), Obama's third-term puppetry, and government UFO secrets. Plus, insights on marijuana deregulation, lobbying corruption, and voter smarts in 2025's evolving media landscape.Missed Part 1? Watch the Deep State origins and JFK bombshells:
LightSpeed VT: https://www.lightspeedvt.com/ Dropping Bombs Podcast: https://www.droppingbombs.com/ In this explosive Part 1 interview, political insider Roger Stone pulls no punches with host Brad Lea, exposing the Deep State forces he claims have controlled America since the 1960s. From Eisenhower's warnings about the military-industrial complex to the shocking truth behind JFK's assassination—Stone reveals Nixon's confession that LBJ was the "lynchpin" in the plot. He breaks down silent coups against Nixon, assassination attempts on Reagan and Trump, and the unelected elites pulling strings in finance, intelligence, and defense. With fresh 2025 declassifications under Trump's Executive Order 14176 releasing 80,000+ JFK records and sparking House hearings, Stone's eyewitness insights couldn't be more timely. He dives into dirty political tricks, election strategies, and why "all publicity is good publicity" in today's info-overloaded world. Plus, hear his take on rigged systems, from mail-in ballot fraud to benchmark polls, and why grassroots alone won't cut it. Don't miss the bombshells on who really runs the government—and Stone's chilling admission about fearing being "unalived." This is a must-watch for truth-seekers! Watch Part 2 for Epstein files revelations (amid DOJ's recent Capitol Hill drop of mostly recycled docs, with Trump signaling full release and calls for transparency from Rep. Ro Khanna), Clinton's potentially heading to prison, and Stone's rigged trial survival story.
August 23, 2025; 9am: After years of public pressure to release the Epstein files, the Department of Justice sent the first batch of documents to the House Oversight Committee on Friday. However, there are mixed reactions about the latest drop. While the Committee's chair, Congressman James Comer, praised the DOJ for “moving at a pace far faster than anything ever produced by the Biden DOJ,” Representative Robert Garcia said most of the files they've received were already public. Representative Ro Khanna, who is also a member of the committee, confirmed Rep. Garcia's assertion on this hour of “The Weekend.”For more, follow us on social media:Bluesky: @theweekendmsnbc.bsky.socialInstagram: @theweekendmsnbcTikTok: @theweekendmsnbcTo listen to this show and other MSNBC podcasts without ads, sign up for MSNBC Premium on Apple Podcasts.

First Lady Melania Trump, via her lawyer Alejandro Brito, has demanded that Hunter Biden retract and publicly apologize for comments he made in an August interview with Andrew Callaghan—claims that convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein introduced her to Donald Trump. Brito's letter, sent August 6, called the remarks “false, defamatory and extremely salacious,” asserting they caused “overwhelming financial and reputational harm,” and warned that failure to comply by August 7 would prompt a lawsuit seeking more than $1 billion in damages.Next up...Attorney General Pam Bondi has come under scrutiny amid mounting accusations from House Democrats that the Justice Department orchestrated a suspiciously favorable transfer of Ghislaine Maxwell—from a high-security facility in Florida to a low-security prison camp in Texas—shortly after she met privately with Deputy AG Todd Blanche. Lawmakers allege this highly unusual move, combined with Blanche's post-meeting interaction and the firing of a key prosecutor on the Epstein-Maxwell case, raises serious concerns of potential witness tampering and political influence. The DOJ has been pressed for documents, including meeting transcripts and details of the transfer decision, while critics argue the move may have violated standard protocols and breached DOJ and federal prison policies...to close things out...House Republicans are moving to reopen the Jeffrey Epstein case in Congress, with Oversight Committee Chair James Comer issuing a subpoena to the Justice Department for all records tied to Epstein's 2007 non-prosecution agreement and the circumstances of his 2019 jailhouse death, demanding delivery by August 19. The push comes as an unusual bipartisan alliance—Republican Rep. Thomas Massie and Democrat Rep. Ro Khanna—plans to bring Epstein's accusers to Capitol Hill for public hearings in early September to press for passage of an “Epstein Files Transparency Act” that would require unsealing related documents. Representative Thomas Massie (R-KY) and Representative Ro Khanna (D-CA) are set to co-host a bipartisan press conference at the U.S. Capitol on September 3, 2025, where survivors of Jeffrey Epstein's abuse will speak—some for the first time—about their experiences. The event is part of a broader push to advance the Epstein Files Transparency Act and a discharge petition aimed at forcing Attorney General Pam Bondi to release Epstein-related legal documents in a fully searchable, downloadable format. The lawmakers say the purpose is not only to give the survivors a national platform but also to press Congress to confront the lack of accountability and secrecy that has long surrounded the case. The move comes amid growing bipartisan momentum, including support from a dozen Republicans, to bypass House leadership and force a vote on releasing the documents with victim-protective redactions. Opposition has been notable from figures like House Speaker Mike Johnson and former President Trump, who have dismissed or downplayed the effort—Johnson citing privacy concerns and Trump labeling it a “hoax.” Massie, Khanna, and their allies counter that transparency with safeguards is both achievable and necessary, framing the event as a test of whether Congress will side with survivors or perpetuate the culture of secrecy that shielded Epstein and his network for decades.Also...A federal judge has rejected the Justice Department's bid to unseal grand jury documents from the Ghislaine Maxwell case, ruling that the material would add virtually nothing to what was already made public during her 2021 trial. The judge emphasized that the records in question did not include victim or witness testimony but rather law enforcement summaries that revealed no new names, crime scenes, or substantive investigative details. This effectively dismantled the DOJ's framing of the request as a major transparency effort, revealing it instead as an overhyped move with negligible informational value. The decision exposes the DOJ's ongoing pattern of performative transparency in the Epstein matter—announcing high-profile actions that, when examined closely, produce no real accountability. By seeking the release of redundant documents under the guise of public disclosure, the Department appears more interested in optics than substance, further fueling skepticism over whether it is genuinely committed to uncovering the truth. Rather than clarifying the historical record, this latest maneuver reinforces the perception that the DOJ is managing the Epstein scandal as a political distraction rather than confronting its deep-rooted failures.to contact me:bobbycapucci@protonmail.comsource:Trump Nemesis Is Bringing Epstein Victims to Capitol to Push for Files ReleaseEpstein files: A judge confirms the Trump team's smokescreen | CNN PoliticsBecome a supporter of this podcast: https://www.spreaker.com/podcast/the-epstein-chronicles--5003294/support.
