In recognition of May being Mental Health Awareness Month, we wanted to produce a Deep Dive episode dedicated to the impact of mental health challenges on the farm while sharing resources available to help anyone who may be struggling. We invited Brandon Wolfe, clinical therapist and cattle rancher, to join the podcast to talk about the unique issues farmers face. Brandon gives us a step-by-step look at the process of finding help to fit your needs. In true AgCast style, we have some fun along the way, and you know we covered the subject of food, too. Give this special episode a listen or share it with someone who may appreciate Brandon's unique perspective. Connect with Brandon here: https://alleviant.com/brandon-wolfe/

Cost-effective lighting and audio equipment are essential for content creation, be it for YouTube streaming, podcasting, or other types of media production. Brandon Wolfe, the director of public relations for Neewer, shares the company's commitment to offering budget-friendly lighting solutions. These products empower creators to display their skills and creativity to a global audience.Affordable lighting gearNeewer offers a range of lighting products that are not only affordable but also powerful enough for content creation. One notable feature of their lights is their full RGB capability, which allows for a wide range of colors and lighting effects. Additionally, these lights have both hot and cold options, providing flexibility for different lighting needs. The lights also come with cold shoe mounts, allowing users to easily snap them together to create a larger lighting setup. What sets Neewer apart is its innovative approach to lighting. They have designed their lights to be modular, similar to Lego blocks, enabling users to build and customize their lighting grids according to their specific requirements. This flexibility is especially useful in situations where the lighting conditions are challenging or when more powerful lighting is needed.Furthermore, Neewer has also taken into consideration the convenience of its users. For instance, their small stick lights are not only mountable but also magnetic, allowing them to be easily attached to metal surfaces. This feature makes them ideal for on-the-go situations, as they can be separated and stored in pockets when not in use.New audio equipment for creatorsIn addition to lighting gear, Neewer has also ventured into the audio department with their new Lavalier microphones. The dual microphone set offers two mics with standard and magnetic clips, allowing you to attach them to any clothing. They each offer the ability to connect a wired microphone to them, allowing for a more versatile experience. The receiver can connect to nearly any device in a variety of ways. It can connect to a phone via USB-C or Lightning, or to a camera using the line-out connection. Being able to swap the receiver between devices with ease means being able to use it for different styles and scales of production. You can also monitor the receiver with headphones. As with other mics in this category, Neewer is working on accessories to allow you to repurpose the mics. For example, other products in the category offer the ability to turn it into a handheld microphone. These products are not yet on the market, but are in development. These microphones have received positive feedback from reviewers and influencers for their exceptional performance. Despite their high quality, Neewer has managed to keep the price point of these microphones at an affordable $129, which is significantly lower than competing brands in the market. The affordability of Neewer's lighting and audio gear is a significant differentiator for the company. While other brands may offer similar products, they often come with a much higher price tag. Neewer aims to eliminate the barrier of entry for creators by providing high-quality gear at an accessible price point. In this episode of Guerrilla History, we bring on a returning fan favorite, Prof. Brandon Wolfe-Hunnicutt, for an episode on sources and methods within history - including discussion of a method Brandon dubs psychedelic remote viewing. This conversation is certainly one that will please those interested in HOW history is done, and how we should view various sources used within historiographic analysis! It sounds super nerdy, and it kind of is, but we're sure you're going to love the conversation! Brandon Wolfe-Hunnicutt is a historian at California State University, Stanislas. Brandon Wolfe grew up surrounded by cattle and row crops. With his background in social work and counseling, Brandon now works for a Therapeutic Day Center and does individual and family counseling sessions. But, he hasn't left the farm life behind.Brandon and his family are building a small cattle operation. While putting out hay and trying to keep the cows inside the fence, Brandon was involved in a rollover accident with a backhoe. Alone, without a cell phone, and with his leg trapped under the giant tire, Brandon wasn't sure how this would end.In today's episode, Archie hears the story of God's provision, His blessings, and the lessons Brandon learned through his experience. You can email Brandon at brandon.wolfe@arkansasfamilies.org. Bob had a great talk (Scott's on assignment) with Professor Brandon Wolfe-Hunnicutt (@hunnicuttwolfe) of Cal State-Stanislaus, author of *The Paranoid Style in American Diplomacy: Oil and Arab Nationalism in Iraq* about Iraqi history from the Ottoman Empire to the present, with an emphasis on the period from 1958 to the 1970s. Before Iraq became the target of a massive U.S. intervention, it was a British colony, and then a kingdom, which achieved sovereignty in a 1958 revolution led by Karim Kasim. However, the U.S., especially President John F. Kennedy, began to oppose the Kasim regime and helped engineer a 1963 coup against him and then sending support to the new regime to isolate and kill Kasim backers and others, especially communists. We talked about the role of Nasserism in Iraq, the importance of the Communist Party, the politics of oil, the perhaps surprising opposition of American oil companies to the U.S.-backed coups d'etat, and the policies of JFK and LBJ. The country the U.S. attacked and devastated in two wars in the 1990s and early 2000s was the product of long-term American interference and meddling. ------------------------------------------------- Links// The Paranoid Style in American Diplomacy: Oil and Arab Nationalism in Iraq (https://bit.ly/3d74eoW) Follow Green and Red// G&R Linktree: https://linktr.ee/greenandredpodcast Check out our rad website: https://greenandredpodcast.org/ Join our Discord community: https://discord.gg/gHhEsqJs Donate to Green and Red Podcast// Become a Patron at https://www.patreon.com/greenredpodcast Or make a one time donation here: https://bit.ly/DonateGandR This is a Green and Red Podcast (@PodcastGreenRed) production. In this fascinating episode, we talk with Professor Brandon Wolfe-Hunnicutt about the numerous coups of Iraq from 1953-1968 (and the CIA/State Department role in these) amidst the background of rising Arab nationalist politics and pushes by several groups for nationalization of Iraqi oil. A fantastic discussion based off of Brandon's equally fabulous book The Paranoid Style in American Diplomacy: Oil and Arab Nationalism in Iraq! Our guest this week is Brandon Wolfe-Hunnicutt, professor of history at California State University, Stanislaus, and author of numerous works appearing in the pages of Diplomatic History and Reviews in American History, among other places. Brandon's most recent work, The Paranoid Style in American Diplomacy: Oil and Arab Nationalism in Iraq (Stanford, 2021) “weaves together histories of Arab nationalists, US diplomats, and Western oil execs to tell the parallel stories of the Iraq Petroleum Company and the resilience of Iraqi society.” He joined us for a two hour discussion on his personal and political background and what brought him to his scholarship on the historiography of US-Iraq relations. We're very happy to share this conversation here in Episode 24. Of particular interest to our previous explorations of the strategic vision of American foreign policy planners, Professor Wolfe-Hunnicutt dispels the “oil scarcity myth” through an anti-imperialist lens. He explains that the history of oil nationalization in Iraq shows both the political savvy of anti-colonial Iraqi political agents throughout the post-World War II and Cold War periods, as well as the fractured unity of imperialist state bureaucracies. Brandon's book is a must-read for anyone interested in understanding the deeper political context of US depredations in Iraq and the Middle East, offering a challenging and unique perspective on the origins of the national security state, the country's bloody record of anti-Communism, and threat inflation as means of imperialist intervention. It is filled with rich historical specificities of paranoid State Department actors and the anti-colonial resistance they faced on the ground. Patreon subscribers will also receive a bonus episode in which Brandon takes us through his research methodology, including recent forays into early modern political philosophy. Thanks for listening. As always, the music you hear on After the 'End of History' is kindly provided by Jason King.

The Jeff Carlson Band pay homage to the great Foreigner, a band that has been influential throughout their careers. In 1981, Foreigner released "Juke Box Hero" find out why Jeff decided it was the "perfect" song to cover! Tesla's Frank Hannon plays on this track find out here how that relationship with Frank started. https://www.jeffcarlsonband.comhttps://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XSn20hbXCys
The new release of the track and video for "Juke Box Hero" is out now!!!* The Jeff Carlson Band pay homage to the great Foreigner, a band that has been influential throughout their careers as musicians. In 1981, Foreigner released “Juke Box Hero,” a song that focuses on a boy unable to purchase a ticket to a sold-out rock concert. From outside the show he hears “One Guitar” and his whole life changes; he decides to play guitar with the chance to achieve musical stardom. It’s every young musician’s dream and it’s no different as Jeff Carlson explains: The backstory of why we recorded “Juke Box Hero” is basically because we've always loved the song. Our bass player, Cory, had said to me when his old band would play the first part of it, the crowd loved it, so we thought we'd just do the whole song. Also, when I was young, my Dad used to play it and he said it always reminded him of me. My dad passed in the end of January, so I wanted to dedicate it to him. We also try to cover songs that fit my voice as well. The story of why I had Frank Hannon play the lead on it is back in November of last year, I flew up to Sacramento to sing for Frank and his backup band for a private party and while I was up there I wanted to record with him, so I asked him to do a lead on this single, and the rest is history! We are so proud of how this came out because we feel as though it remained true to the original while putting our own spin on it. We wanted it to fit in today's production of how songs actually are being produced and not dated in any way. We give full credit to Brandon Wolfe who produces all of our material. Frank played amazing as well and we are eternally grateful to him for playing on it.
