Can a collecting event really change lives? For a number of Star Wars fans, The 2019 Annual was the place where long-lasting friendships were born. Where collectors found their places within a passionate and creative community. Where life changed for them, forever. And if you've listened to the past few episodes, you've heard about the adventures that I and seven other collectors experienced the Sunday night of the event. And what kicked it all off was a two-and-a-half-hour roundtable discussion we recorded for the podcast. Three years later, the Annual Rountable crew reunite to reflect upon that momentous weekend in 2019! Ahead of the second Annual event this August, join me, David Quinn for a conversation with Brian Angel, Kori Bailey, Trent Bailey, Matt George, Bill Cable, Jenn Thunders and Justin Haynie. The roundtable is both wildly humorous and incredibly moving. If you want to hear about the power of these unforgettable collector events, this is the episode for you! Let's kick off the year and Season Two of the podcast in style! Ross Barr, principal and part owner of grading company CAS and longtime Han Solo fan, hosted the first Empire State Collectors Club meetup of the year at his home in southern New Jersey. In addition to the most unique game of trivia and a banquet table's spread of foods and desserts specific to the region, Ross truly gave east coast collectors one of the best and memorable meetups in memory. And with friends flying in from Nashville, North Carolina and California(!), and others driving down from upstate New York, Canada, and the tri-state region, it was a day to remember. Join David Quinn as he talks with over thirty friends and collectors, and asks them two questions about the past year: 1. What was a favorite collecting moment? 2. On the last night of the Labor Day weekend at The Annual, a Star Wars collectors meetup in Fishkill, New York, a few friends got together in a hotel room to recap the wonderful event: the panels, the room sales, touring the area, and the lasting power of friendship. What began as a 15-minute podcast conversation turned into a 2-hour roundtable and kicked off an epic night! So pull up a chair and join host David Quinn as he speaks with Atlanta's very own Han-and-Leia duo Justin Haynie and Jenn Thunders, Nashville's Trent "the Escalator" Bailey and Kori Bailey (same last name, different parents), Pennsylvania's C-3PO fanatic Bill Cable, Texas' Empire Engineer Matt George, and California's cat butler and R5 aficionado Brian Angel.
Episode 61 celebrates The Vintage Rebellion's 5 Year Anniversary. Joining the team to take you through this milestone episode are two special guest hosts which listeners should be familiar with! Instead of a main focus interview this month, Stuart takes us through an array of stories from a selection of the interviews he has undertaken over the last 60 episodes, we hear from Matthew Fox, Ron Salvatore, Mattias Rendahl and Lee Bullock amongst many others and their memorable tales. Rebel Briefings sees Richard joined by Brian Angel for a corker of a story, whilst the boys also look at what is going on in the hobby with the amount of new groups springing up and the negativity between some of those groups, what does the future of the hobby hold with the current climate. Jez brings us his Newest Acquisitions, looking at a multitude of items from Creature Cantina Playsets through to Australian Roller boots and finishing as always with a focal topic, this month it's the B-Wing, Stephen Danley drops by to offer his knowledge on the ship. Pete continues looking at the B-Wing in 'Beyond The Newest Acquisitions', as the boys realise how little the B-Wing appeared on across the oddball items. All this plus much more as the boys look at how it all sorted and can Jez not finish bottom of a quiz when there's an extra two people to take that mantle from him... Surely... Maybe... Enjoy the Show!!!
What makes this annual toy show weekend in Cincinnati so special? Join host David Quinn as he travels to Ohio and tours friends' collections, experiences the legendary late-night room sales, and shops the toy show for Star Wars toys and prototypes. Featuring interviews with collecting duo Ryan and Sean Lehmkuhl, California R5-D4 collector Brian Angel, and acrylic craftsman Iain Sanderson.
The Vintage Rebellion returns for their 47th outing. Jared Cope, Andrew Norton and Stephen Savory join Stuart and Simon for a roundtable discussion on prices and the state of the hobby, is collecting Star Wars toys an obsession? Rich has the pleasure of talking to Craig Stevens about his new book focusing on the impact of Star Wars in the UK. We then discuss a couple of topical points in the hobby including a great act of honesty. In Market join Simon for a ramble through rare and interesting items sold on eBay in the last month, hear about the auction action from UK salesrooms and the ones to watch in the coming month. With help from new Vintage Alliance member Bob Steffey, the team take at look at the awesome Snowspeeder. Brian Angel drops by to discuss his latest R5-D4 pickup and the team also look at a host of other great acquisitions from UK bubble bath to soot covered Luke Hoth Mint on Cards. Pete continues the look at the Snowspeeder as he delves into items for the ship outside the toy line as well as bringing his popular top five and Gimcrack of the month. The team take a look and make recommedations for new collectors on which Facebook groups to join and can Simon win a quiz? I very much doubt it. Oh and Steve Savory tells us how he likes to go hard! All this plus much more on this months Vintage Rebellion Podcast. Enjoy the Show!!!!!
Episode 45 drops whilst the UK is covered in snow, which is fitting as the episode has a very Hoth feel. Richard has recently been to Finse, Norway for an event based on Hoth and hosted at the filming location, this month instead of a feature interview we hear all about the trip which includes interviews with others who attended the event or presented. Some great stories of the filming era which you may or may not know but definitely worth a listen. Stuart takes over hosting duties on Newest Acquisitions whilst Jez is at school. The team look at several items which include a Pre-production Diecast TIE-Fighter wing, a mint Return of the Jedi two pack, 12" Luke Skywalker Bespin transparency and a beaten up Luke Skywalker Model trem. We hear from two collectors as they discuss their recent purchases, Dallas Ewen discusses his Grubee exclusive cups which were only available in food outlets around Winnipeg, Canada and Blake Bundy tells us about picking up his final 12 back to complete the run. Of course NA finishes with a look at one specific item, this month the lads look at the Hoth Ice Planet Adventure Set where the Vintage Alliance come up with more great information. In a new section, Peter looks at other non action figure related Hoth items that may tickle people's fancy. Along with the top 5, Simon attempts to dazzle us with his Gimcrack but can it beat Richard's controversial entry. Rich looks at a range of topics during Rebel Briefings, from the current collecting climate including asking whether POTF MOCs were sold in the UK and whether current eBay practices are ethical. This is balanced out with an update to Brian Angel's quest and some more news of great fundraising ventures. With Peter undergoing a new section, Simon jumps in to reinvent the Market segment, during this element Simon takes a look at the market place from eBay to auction houses, plus takes a look at current AT-AT prices, has this huge piece become the flavour of the month??? The podcast is filled with so much more, from the usual quiz to Richard trying to dig himself out of a Detolf hole, it's all here. Hey, even Jez drops by to give us a Running Stormtrooper update!!! Enjoy the show!
The Vintage Rebellion welcome stand out collector Brian Angel to the Podcast to discuss his collecting habits, we discuss Facebook, Engineering Pilots and his R5-D4 focus amongst many other topics. Rich discusses display and shipping ideas with Iain Sanderson and Johnpaul Ragusa. Whilst Jez hosts possibly the most crazy NA ever with a random Tuna Fish advert and a discussion on Yak Face's Muff! The lads discuss their favourite TIE Fighter from the range and we highlight an absolute steal at an estate sale. On Beyond The Toys, Grant welcomes artist Chris Moore where they discuss Star Wars Wallpaper. This months market is short and sweet as Pete looks at the 2016 Kenner 12a market prices and the tracker top 5 ties things up nicely. All this plus the other usual gibberings. Enjoy the show!!!

Even in the hood. A place where, with a roll of the dice and a dash of hustler’s ambition, anything is possible. The rules of the game are as old as time. Be it cee-lo or snake eyes, chances go around. Yet with the heavy buzz surrounding his highly anticipated, widely circulated independent album Pineapple Now-Laters, it’s clear that R&B crooner BJ The Chicago Kid is on a winning streak. Flaunting a distinct vocal style that skillfully melds the soulful and the sanctified - exceedingly appraised by the likes of superstars such as Kanye West, Jamie Foxx, Stevie Wonder, Jill Scott, Kendrick Lamar, and Usher - BJ The Chicago Kid is destined to become the voice of his generation.
Brian Angel has always done everything big. This Houston native has done it all by the age 15, from traveling the world to performing in front of thousand (sharing the stage with such as Destiny's Child, Ginuwine, Avant, Jagged Edge, Joe, Brian McKnight, and many more.) Emmanuel and Phillip Hudson were born in Mississippi in 1990 and 1992 the youngest of 8 boys to an awesome pair of God fearing parents, Roger and Brenda Hudson. The family moved to Jonesboro, Ga in 1998 where the brothers quickly made a name for themselves as the funniest guys in their schools, dancing, joking, and rapping to bring each of their classrooms to uncontrollable amounts of laughter every day. What they didn’t know was that during these years God was carefully helping them sharpen their skills as talented entertainers for something greater. When they decided to make a video called ‘Rachet Girl Anthem’ on January 16th of 2012 they were unprepared for how much God was about to bless them when the video went viral from a few thousand views to more than 20 million views overnight.
