This is related to testing positive for the banned substance Meldonium days before he was scheduled to face WBA titlist Erislandy Lara in a three-belt unification fight on Dec. 6. The IBF has yet to rule. He gets to keep the belts?!  Again, WHAT are we doing here?! Also, WBC middleweight titlist Carlos Adames will make his third defense in a rescheduled bout against Austin “Ammo” Williams in the main event of a quickly scheduled Matchroom Boxing card on March 21 (DAZN) at the Caribe Royale Resort in Orlando, Florida.  And, finally, the IBF on Monday ordered junior welterweight titlist Richardson Hitchins to next make his mandatory defense against Lindolfo Delgado. This comes days after Hitchins' optional against Oscar Duarte was canceled when Hitchins became ill and was vomiting after breakfast on the morning of the fight. Of all contest entries, Bush Bath is perhaps the embodiment of the 2025 festival contest theme, Remedies of Root. Penned by Brandon McIvor, it traces a man on a visit to Trinidad to see his dying mother, who abandoned him as a child. He delays the meeting, instead taking a symbolic "bush bath" in a forest pool to cleanse his pain. There, a recovered memory reveals his mother didn't save him from danger, but first let him go. As the story unfolds, McIvor's main character must decide whether to confront her with this painful truth or offer her peace. Brandon Mc Ivor was born and raised in Trinidad and Tobago and holds a BSc in English Literature from New York University. He currently teaches English in Ehime, Japan, while continuing to build a literary practice that explores the craft and circulation of storytelling. His work has appeared in The Caribbean Writer and in Akashic Books' flash fiction series, among other publications. He was also shortlisted for the Commonwealth Short Fiction Prize in 2020 for his work Finger, Spinster, Serial Killer. Both writer and marketer, Mc Ivor is deeply interested in the forms and voices through which stories are told, seeking to move audiences through fiction, poetry, and creative communication alike.

A procession for Deputy Andrew Nunez began staging as Angel provided traffic updates on the growing road closures. A tough inning for the Dodgers unfolded while the solemn procession for the fallen San Bernardino deputy officially got underway. Coverage continued with the procession honoring Deputy Nunez, followed by a remarkable story about the first person to ski down Mount Everest. Closing the hour more bad news for Hollywood — a beloved costume shop shut its doors, marking another blow to California's struggling film and TV industry. 

A San Bernardino County sheriff's deputy was fatally shot by a domestic violence suspect, leading to a tense Inland Empire pursuit. Sheriff Shannon Dicus confirmed the fallen officer as Deputy Andrew Nunez, who was shot in the head while responding to a domestic violence call.  Michael Monks joined to discuss life in Kentucky as the press conference unfolded. By 4:35, Sheriff Dicus addressed the media, calling it a tragic day for the department and expressing condolences to Nunez's family and fellow deputies.
