Matthew Tynan, Trevor Zickgraf and Bruno Passos discuss everything from conspiracy theories, to draft prospects, to what the Spurs' approach should be during this draft cycle. The main focus was on Dylan Harper, and whether San Antonio just needs to draft him and call it a day. But there's a bigger conversation to be had about fit, long-term identity, and the idea it's almost time for the Spurs to start streamlining their roster construction.
First, Matthew Tynan and Bruno Passos discuss Bruno's NBA Draft flowchart at Pounding the Rock. Who were the most interesting players, and which crossroads were the trickiest to navigate? Then, after the break, a back-and-forth on hierarchies and priorities. What's the most critical element to address right now in San Antonio?
Matthew Tynan is joined by Bruno Passos of Pounding the Rock to discuss Victor Wembanyama's quotes from Thursday's practice regarding San Antonio's upcoming offseason. How involved will he be in roster-building decisions this summer? What's the relationship like between players, coaches and front office? Have the Spurs adjusted their management philosophies now that they have their centerpiece? What kinds of players will fit best around Victor? All that before jumping into a couple of mailbag questions following the break.

First, Trevor Zickgraf and Bruno Passos join Matthew Tynan to further preview the upcoming regular season with some interesting player props. Then, the guys go long on the first-ever Small Market Bias NBA Vibes Draft. Finally, Bruno has a message for a certain somebody.
First, Matthew Tynan and Bruno Passos dissect the Spurs' new-look, big lineup featuring Jeremy Sochan at point guard. While the offense gets a lot of attention, the defense is where the biggest changes should take place with this setup. Then, after the break, they take a longer look at Devin Vassell's outlook after a great game, and wonder where Keldon Johnson is going to slot in going forward.
First, Matthew Tynan asks Bruno Passos to name the coach most likely to be fired first, per BetOnline, before then moving on to a quick conversation about Passos' interview with Julian Champagnie. Then the two jump into the ongoing mystery behind the Spurs' starting lineup, going over strategy and perhaps coming to a surprising "conclusion" based the reading of tea leaves. Finally, a long look at the specifics of Devin Vassell's new contract extension, and which details seem to be the most interesting.
First, Bruno Passos answers your pressing Cam Payne questions before he and Matthew Tynan discuss the NBA's new Player Participation Policy. Then, the two talk about Victor Wembanyama's statement to L'Equipe that he will be representing France in next summer's Olympics, the Devin Vassell situation, and a few different roster questions as training camp approaches.

Will he perform well enough to make it to the top of a long list? And if he does, is he public-facing enough to garner the requisite attention? Then, a conversation about Giannis Antetokounmpo's murky-ish future in Milwaukee, and whether or not the Spurs are in position to go all in on a potential deal if things don't work out with the Bucks. Finally, a whole variety of mailbag questions are answered!
Matthew Tynan, Trevor Zickgraf and Bruno Passos look back on the NBA Draft, the state of San Antonio, and what's to come during the new era of Spurs basketball.
Spurscast: The Spurs Through 10 Games In Spurscast episode 674, Spurscast host Paul Garcia and Pounding the Rock writer Bruno Passos discuss: The Spurs through 10 games The Top-10 and Bottom-10 areas for the Spurs on offense and defense The starters and players off the bench The latest in the Josh Primo legal dispute The Spurs' roster at the moment The Spurs through 10 games Through 10 games, the San Antonio Spurs are a .500 ball club with a 5-5 record. After some early impressive wins against Minnesota, Philadelphia, and Chicago, the Spurs are facing a 3-game losing streak against Toronto, the Los Angeles Clippers, and Denver. The Top-10 and Bottom-10 areas for the Spurs on offense and defense The Spurs have more strengths on offense 10 games into the season compared to the defensive end of the floor. The Spurs are Top-10 in pace, assists, floater makes, 3-point shooting, and wide-open 3-point shooting. Turnovers, the Spurs' offense overall, the Spurs' finishing near the rim, and getting to the free-throw line are areas of concern for the team. On defense, one of the bright spots for the team is not putting their opponents on the free-throw line. In terms of concerns, the Spurs have multiple areas they'll have to work on this season including their overall defense, opponents' offensive rebounding percentage, and opponent shooting inside and outside. The starters and players off the bench The Spurs' starters Keldon Johnson, Devin Vassell, Jakob Poeltl, Tre Jones, and Jeremy Sochan are discussed in the episode, as well as second-unit players Josh Richardson, Zach Collins, Doug McDermott, Malaki Branham, and Keita Bates-Diop. The latest in the Josh Primo legal dispute On Friday, October 28, the Spurs waived guard, Josh Primo. On Thursday, November 03, former Spurs licensed psychologist Dr. Hillary Cauthen, represented by attorney Tony Buzbee, announced a lawsuit against Primo and the San Antonio Spurs for Primo allegedly indecently exposing himself to Dr. Cauthen nine times in private sessions, and the lawsuit against the Spurs is because they allegedly ignored Dr. Cauthen's complaints when she notified Spurs management. Primo's attorney William J. Briggs II responded to the allegations by saying they were false and misleading. Spurs Sports and Entertainment CEO R.C. Buford issued the following statement Thursday: “We disagree with the accuracy of facts, details, and timeline presented today. While we would like to share more information, we will allow the legal process to play out. Our organization remains committed to upholding the highest standards and will continue to live by our values and culture.” Friday, November 04, the San Antonio Express-News reported the Bexar County Sheriff's Office has opened a preliminary investigation into the allegations. The Spurs' roster at the moment With Primo waived and Blake Wesley suffering a Grade 3 left MCL sprain, the Spurs signed Jordan Hall to a non-guaranteed contract that fully guarantees on January 10, 2023. Hall was recently on a two-way contract with the Spurs during training camp and the preseason.

The Sacramento Kings recorded their first loss of the season that wasn't particularly close at any point in the second half. Going into San Antonio, the Kings were favored despite lacking Tyrese Haliburton, but they came out with lackluster effort and energy. Will Griffith of the Kings Herald joins the show for the first segment to talk about why it's too early to say "this is just like last year", even though it was admittedly horrible. We also dive into Fox's breakout performance, the half-court struggles on offense, our thoughts on Walton's early season, and Marvin Bagley refusing to play. For the second half of this episode, I brought on Bruno Passos (@bouncepassos), who covers the San Antonio Spurs, to give his perspective on the Spurs' best shooing night of the year as he drives home from the stadium. I pick his brain on how much of it was simply San Antonio making shots compared to the Kings failing on their end. He hilariously identifies a primary issue with Sacramento's offense after limited exposure to the team this season and gives his thoughts on the Spurs' play-in chances this season. Also, does he think the Spurs could have any interest in trading for Marvin Bagley? Thaddeus Young for Mavin Bagley + a 2nd? Could San Antonio be in the conversation for acquiring a big name in the trade market? Learn more about your ad choices. Visit podcastchoices.com/adchoices

Bork Nerdrum, our own producer, appears on The Cave to reveal his ranking list of the greatest living painters, inspired by his father's philosophy and Aristotle's Poetics. See the list here: https://sivilisasjonen.no/kultur/53593/the-worlds-greatest-living-painters/ How can quality in painting be objectively measured and what happens when everything detracts into subjectivism? As Bork Nerdrum sees it, a clear set of dogmas is the only solution to hindering cultural self-destruction. The centerpiece for this conversation was "Frenzied Woman" by Odd Nerdrum. On the shelf were "The Outcast" by Sebastian Salvo, "The Golden Cape" by Odd Nerdrum, and "The Passenger" by Bruno Passos. The episode was hosted by Jan-Ove Tuv and produced by Bork S. The Spurs looked like they'd make a big splash this summer. Instead, they've brought the band back together, including a surprise contract extension for LaMarcus Aldridge. Are Spurs fans worried, or has the team bought itself enough goodwill. We brought on J.R. Wilco and Bruno Passos of SB Nation Spurs site Pounding the Rock to discuss the following:INSTANT REACTION to LaMarcus Aldridge's new 3-year, $72.3 million extension. And we do mean instant, because we began recording minutes after the news broke. Why didn't the Spurs make the big move that many expected? Why re-sign Pau Gasol and Aldridge with their cap space? Are they playing a different game that we can't see? Kawhi Leonard's gonna be OK health-wise, right? This quad issue isn't a long-term thing, is it? Assuming not, what can he possibly do for an encore?Rudy Gay seems like an interesting fit. How will that work? And will the Spurs play more of a modern style after playing very traditionally last year? Why are Spurs fans going gaga over DeJounte Murray?Over/under six long Gregg Popovich screeds against Donald Trump? (That doesn't count the one from today, which dropped after we recorded). Which game will he unleash his grumpiest sideline interview? The all-important banana boat question. Are the Spurs still the toughest matchup for the Warriors? Did this summer get them closer or further away to the Warriors? Why do they seem to have more success than most against them? How do Spurs fans feel about the Warriors?More worried about the Rockets or Thunder as a challenger?Assuming Kawhi is healthy, he's definitely winning MVP, isn't he?Plus, more dumb things to bet on. Recreationally, of course. This is the 29th of Limited Upside's 30 team previews leading up to next season.
