In this episode, Paul sits down with Neil Roberts.Roberts started his career in 1994 when he played for Wrexham. After signing for the club as a trainee, he made his debut on 27 September 1997 during a 0–0 draw with Chesterfield before going on to score five goals in his next four games. He became an established first-team player at the Racecourse Ground, making 75 appearances and scoring 17 goals. He left Wrexham in 2000 to join Wigan Athletic, where he made 125 appearances and scoring 19 goals. He also spent time on loan at Hull City and Bradford City, scoring on his debut for the latter against Bristol City. He then made a permanent move to Doncaster Rovers in 2004.In 2006 Roberts came back to his hometown club Wrexham, where he became the team captain. He is a Welsh international with four caps. Roberts had a good start to the 2006–07 season by scoring two goals in the first two games. These goals were very important during this period as they were a penalty in a 2–1 away victory against local rivals Chester City on 20 August 2006 and the opening goal in Wrexham's 4–1 League Cup victory at Championship side Sheffield Wednesday on 23 August 2006.However, in their 2–1 victory against Swindon Town on 9 September 2006, Roberts picked up an injury. He made his comeback in a 2–1 defeat against Milton Keynes Dons scoring the opening goal. However, Roberts suffered more injuries throughout the course of the season. On 21 April 2007 he came on as a second-half substitute in a game against Torquay United and scored his first goal since October 2006 and Wrexham's winning goal to ensure a vital 1–0 win in Wrexham's bid for survival in the Football League Two. He was released by Wrexham in May 2008 following the club's relegation to the Football Conference.[6]On 24 June 2008, Roberts signed for Welsh Premier League side Rhyl, where he combined playing with coaching opportunities and his business interests. After one season at Rhyl, Roberts left to take over as a project manager at Premier League side Manchester CityFollow us on Instagram, YouTube & Twitter - @UpTheTownShow

The BBC's Formula 1 reporter Jennie Gow joins us from Abu Dhabi, ahead of the final race of the season, with Lewis Hamilton and Max Verstappen fighting for the Drivers World Title. Verstappen is aiming for his first world title and we hear from his mentor when he started out in Formula 3. Frits Van Amersfoort tells us it became clear, within one hour of working with Max, that he was a special talent, says he hasn't changed his approach since racing for him and compares Verstappen's rivalry with Lewis Hamilton to the one Ayrton Senna and Alain Prost shared. Van Amersfoort also tells us he's worked in motorsport for forty years and he's never known people in the Netherlands as interested in the sport as they are now because of Verstappen's success. Paddy Lacey joins us ahead of his fight on the undercard of Katie Taylor's defence of her undisputed lightweight titles against Kazakh challenger Firuza Sharipova. Lacey played in the same Liverpool youth team as Wolves and England defender Conor Coady before a failed drugs test ended a promising spell in the Football League. During his ban from playing football, Lacey was arrested and subsequently jailed after being found in possession of drugs and counterfeit money at the Glastonbury Festival. He's now playing for Chester City in England's sixth tier and forging a career as a professional boxer. US runner Molly Seidel tells us about her route into marathon running and discusses her journey of recovery from anxiety, depression and disordered eating. Seidel won bronze at the Tokyo Olympic Games, in what was only her third ever race over the marathon distance. Derek chats to former England Under 21 and Sheffield Wednesday defender Ian Knight. Ian's story in the game is a fascinating one, he was one of the most promising defenders in British football when he burst on the scene at Hillsborough until a horrific challenge by Chester City's Gary Bennett more or less curtailed his career. He tells us about that game, the aftermath, how he claimed damages as a result and how he kept positive to continue his time in the game by coaching which he still does over in Canada. We also hear about his time at Barnsley under Norman Hunter and Bobby Collins and dressing room tales from his years at the Owls. Enjoy folks!

Back in the studio this week is Quickly Kevin regular Tom Craine as we take a look at Terry Smith's failed spell at Chester City in the late 90s. Deploying such tactics as 'regular 442 rules', appointing "three captains" and passing on half time advice such as "they keep putting it in the hole"; Terry (an American who came to the English football league via the NFL) had been accused of not knowing much about football. We took to a Chester City documentary to discover the truth. There's also an update on Man Utd's away hotel room pairings and an amazing new Eddie McGoldrick chant.Twitter: @quicklykevinFacebook: quicklykevinInstagram: quicklykevinEmail: hello@quicklykevinFor your chance to win an exclusive 'Graham Says: Hit Les' Quickly Kevin mug leave us a 90's Football based 'Review Haiku' on iTunes!!Thanks,Chris, Josh and Michael. The song this week is about Chester City which you will know well....I've sent it because I have been taking advantage of the recent weather which has been very hot so I took my kayak out on the River Dee at Chester this week and it was like a millpond....I paddled along joined by baby ducks, swans and the local heron....wonderful....it really is fascinating place which I never tire of....I recorded another version of the song with a girl called Julie Bright (a local Chester girl) put it on a 45 single and sold it to the Chester Council. The news is still saturated with doom and gloom.....it was endless reporting on the London fire with very little facts just a constant barrage of negative news going on about what "might" have happened or what "possibly" could have happened....it's a terrible disaster but what we now require are the facts....and perhaps we could be informed of anything ELSE that is going on in the world...at the outset of all this they had a piece of cladding from the building and put a match under it....and it caught fire....in 1968 I went to a demonstration by the fire brigade concerning cheap furniture imported from the far east....they threw a match on a couch and it burst into flames....similarly with kiddies clothing.....traders making a profit by cutting corners....so it seems nothing has changed. Then we have the attack on Muslims by a man driving a van into them coming out of a Mosque sending the media into overdrive...making out that one man had been killed and several others injured....it has turned out that the poor man who died had a heart attack before the occurrence and was being attended to by his friends....not that this makes it any better...but this sort of thing was on the cards.....and in my opinion our nation of followers are easily manipulated by the media as they believe whatever they are told and the likes of the BBC thrive on sensationalising these events.....religion has been the cause of most problems since time began and I don't have any problem with people's beliefs but we seem to have two sides to the Muslim faith and I think the only one's who can solve the current situation is them....by educating the misguided. There is a new programme on the telly called The Voice Kids....which is the same as The Voice but as the title says it's for kids...some as young as 8...this is so wrong...exploiting children and giving them false hope is not good...and could affect them in later life....if the kid doesn't get through he or she will be devastated....if they do they don't know what they are letting themselves in for....the only winners are the sharks who capitalise on the situation....it's a tough game if you want to survive and these youngsters have no idea what it's all bout.....5% show...95% business. And finally Amanda Holden has been criticised for her rather revealing dress on Britains Got Talent....with its plunging front displaying 50% of her boobs and of course this has given an opportunity for the collection of sad morons who sit at home in front of the box waiting for something to complain about to get stuck in.....but they shouldn't be looking....otherwise it's sexist !!!....what a joke...but it's fine because she is female which makes it O.K.....I wonder what would happen if Simon Cowell appeared in a pair of trousers with a plunging front (excuse me while I throw up)....but there you go.....ladies will always complain about men being sexist and men will continue to take no notice whatsoever.
