The Sandman Podcast returns to discuss Netflix's interim show, "Dead Boy Detectives" The post Deadboy Detectives Season 1 Episode 0 “Meeting The Boys” appeared first on Multiverse Of Color.
How long had it been since she felt the sun on her face; since she felt the sand between her toes and the fresh sea air clearing her sinuses? Too long than she cared to remember... She could literally taste the freedom on the tip of her tongue, the liberation slowly cascading over her - it was a feeling she never thought she'd have again, but now here she was, looking out to sea with a renewed sense of existence. Who knows what twists and turns lay ahead, what obstacles might be just around the corner... She really couldn't wait to find out. Optimo Music's Digital Dancefloor series returns with its 49th instalment, this time welcoming Trule boss Al Wootton for a two-tracker that's certified to cause destruction on the dancefloor. Having featured Al's music under his Deadboy alias back in the day on their “Dark Was The Night” mix CD, Optimo now bring him on board for two chuggy, dubbed out disco tracks that both unfold over the course of nine minutes. Laid down live in takes and using hardware synths and external processing, he explores a host of different genres that he's always held dear from post-punk and psychedelia to proto house and dub.
When onetime Acid Bath and Agents of Oblivion vocalist Dax Riggs took himself to the outermost reaches of his imagination with Deadboy & the Elephantmen, he reached the highest of creative and emotional heights. After the first Deadboy album (If This Is Hell Then I'm Lucky, self-released, 2002), Dax and band went through a number of changes before arriving at the more stripped down and, in our opinion, disappointing We Are Night Sky (Fat Possum, 2006). This episode focuses on the incredible material Dax/Deadboy were working on in their most transitional and obscure phase. The total godhead. This podcast is conceived and conducted by Jeff Wagner and Hunter Ginn. Though we consume music in a variety of ways, we give particular privilege to the immersive, full-album listening experience. Likewise, we believe that tangible music formats help provide the richest, most rewarding immersions and that music, artwork, and song titles cooperate to produce a singular effect on the listener. Great music is worth more than we ever pay for it.

This week on Dread Media, we go back to the old standard: the zom-com! Only, we've got something a little different this time. First up, it's not quite a zombie movie and not quite a comedy, but The Dead Don't Die is definitely a Jim Jarmusch film as Tom and Desmond discover. Then, Desmond goes solo on a Dread Media Top 5 Obscure Zom-Coms! Of course, there are tunes: "Summah Starved Zombies" by Howard Kremer, "The Dead Don't Die" by Sturgill Simpson, "My Boyfriend's Back" by Raveonettes, and "Like the Dead Would Laugh" by Deadboy and The Elephantmen. Kevin sits down with Ari, Luis, and Deadboy from Expecting Perfection out of Texas. Not only did their appearance save Kevin's interview streak, but they came in with one of the most fun podcasts you will ever listen to. Listen in as they discuss the band's song Pissed at the Phobia in great detail (and how Kevin really relates to it), how a mixup caused a potential problem but ended up working out very well for them with the band Osatia, and there is a Chord Progression Podcast first. This episode was shot on Ari's 21st birthday so you can watch as the band shotguns beers in celebration. And there is a fun clip of Deadboy jumping off a roof into a pool. This is a fantastic podcast to listen to and watch. Enjoy. Hey all, Broonie here. Thanks again for tuning in. Got a quick question for you all: have any of you ever been to an event, be it a music concert, a Broadway play, or a movie screening in which the crowd and yourself exuded a brilliantly familial aura? That's exactly what I felt when I was down in Manhattan this past weekend at the Gramercy Theatre. I managed to attend a performance from one of my favorite versatile artists that I've been listening to for a good minute: he goes by the name of Bones. I'll simply be talking about my experience there, along with other things n' dat. Hope you all enjoy. tears in the club are allowed this week, as I explore a mix of emotionally driven house music. If you've ever felt lonely in the middle of a crowded dancefloor, or if you've ever heard a track, looked around for someone to dance with, and come up empty, this mix is for you. I've got some all-time faves from the likes of Joy Orbison and Deadboy, as well as brand new music from 100% Silk, Mall Grab, and Octo Octa.
Although the very concept of music ownership has changed dramatically in the last couple of years, artists and record labels are still releasing top notch music that they want you to download for free; to own, to share, to play, for ever and ever and this podcast is all about finding some diamond nuggets in the sea of nuggets that are other things. Episode 12 features music from Hudson Mohawke, Deadboy, Sly-One as well as some artists you might not have heard of, but are certainly worth listening out for, and an out of date club listing. We are approaching our 5th Birthday (May 12th) and as part of those celebrations we have a whole host of things planned among which is dropping perhaps our most eagerly anticipated ‘Blah Blah Blah Records‘ release to date: ‘Blacksmif – Hoop Dreams / Microweight’. With glowing reports coming in from such luminaries as Mary Anne Hobbs, Laurent Garnier, Disclosure, Ben Westbeech, Audiojack, Deadboy, South London Ordnance, and Midland among others, we decided to get Blacksmif behind the decks for an exclusive mix. The Blacksmif sound flirts on the edge of accepted thinking, taking flamboyant percussive and melodic risks within a bass driven jazz tinged environment, the following mix typifies this unique approach as it roams freely amongst an often highly segregated field of music. Blacksmif - Hoop Dreams / Microweight (BBB004) Out May 21st, Ltd WeAre5 Vinyl + Digital. 01. Fumitake Uchida - Walk Down 02. Donae'o - When Angels Sing (TEED Remix) 03. SBTRKT - Hold On (Sisi Bak Bak Remix) 04. A.Ashdown - Valentine Dance 05. Maribou State - Olivia (Pedestrian Remix) 06. Jessie Ware - Running (Disclosure Remix) 07. Knowing Looks - Last Kiss At The Plains Hotel 08. John Roberts - Mirror 09. Blacksmif - Microweight 10. Q-Tip - Work It Out (Disclosure Remix) 11. Audiojack - Polka Dot Dress 12. Joe Goddard - Gabriel (Seiji Remix) 13. Blacksmif - Hoop Dreams 14. A*M*E - City Lights ft Bartoven (Dems Remix) 15. Roots Manuva - Get The Get (Mia Dora Remix) 16. Jose James - Spirits Up Above
