In this episode, Izzy jumps into “Culinary Class Wars”. Gibbs and Zea are back on their perpetual rewatch of The Emperor's New Groove, because apparently, some movies just age like fine wine... or at least, like Kronk. Of course, this somehow spirals into everyone revealing their most-rewatched guilty pleasures, which brings us gems like We Sing in Sillyville (yes, it was Zea), and George of the Jungle – Izzy's “cinematic masterpiece.” Then, for a cringe-tinged adventure, the crew attempts Ghost Dad with Bill Cosby, making it a full 35 minutes before admitting defeat. Was it even worth it? Probably not, but it's all for the cause, right? Wrap it up with the final installment of the theme with Oddity. Support us on Patreon!

Lord, how Thy wonders are displayedWhere'er we turn our eyes: In every season of the year, And through the changing skies. There's not a plant or flower belowBut makes Thy glories known; And clouds arise and tempests blowBy order from Thy throne, While all that borrows life from TheeIs ever in Thy care, And everywhere that man can be, Thou, God, art present there. AmenBeneath the Cross of JesusBeneath the cross of Jesus I gladly take my stand: The shadow of a might rock Within a weary land, A home within the wilderness, A rest upon the way, From the burning of the noontide heat And the burden of the day. Upon that cross of Jesus My eyes at times can see The very dying form of OneWho suffered there for me; And from my smitten heart, with tears, Two wonders I confess- The wonders of His glorious love And my unworthiness. Barry and Abigail discuss We Sing. We Dance. We Steal Things. by Jason Mraz and sample Lucky Strikes, Echoes of Sacrificial Voices, and Basking In the Glow from Petty Thieves Brewing Co. in Charlotte, North Carolina. We want to thank Barry's college and medical school colleague, Dr. Michael McCrohan, for helping us obtain this fabulous beer, and for his “contribution to the arts.” Lucky Strikes is a collaboration with Cabarrus Brewing Co in Concord, North Carolina. The names of the beers we sampled today reminded Abigail of the names of the beers we sampled at Burial Beer Company in Asheville, North Carolina: Prophetmaker, A Canvas of Fragmented Memoirs, A Space For Sacrilege, and Of A Fading Season. Listen to our full episode at Burial, Consumers of the Barley (The Raconteurs and Burial Beer Co.). We make a lot of comparisons to Andy Grammer by Andy Grammer, which we reviewed in our episode Mind Your Grammer (Andy Grammer and Deadwords Brewing). Watch one of the TikToks Abigail referenced poking fun at artists including “raw audio” in their songs. Your Love is My Drug by Kesha is a great example of this phenomenon. Lucky features Colbie Caillat, whose song I Do appears on our family playlist of favorite love songs from 2011. Abigail's choice on that playlist was The Bird and the Worm by Owl City, and Barry's was Maybe I'm Amazed by Paul McCartney. Abigail contends that Butterfly is no more explicit than Swimming In Your Ocean by Crash Test Dummies. Listen to our full discussion of Crash Test Dummies, Pops Shuffled His Feet (Crash Test Dummies and Toll Road Brewing). Details in the Fabric features James Morrison. We shared a little bit of his song Under the Influence. Up next… Four by Blues Traveler Jingles are by our friend Pete Coe. Visit Anosmia Awareness for more information on Barry's condition. Barry and Abigail discuss our next Jukebox submission, Oracular Spectacular by MGMT and sample Oggy, Passionfruit Mochi, and Peanut Brother from Great Notion Brewing in Portland, Oregon. This album was submitted to our Virtual Jukebox by Paul Zawacki [The Procession, previously discussed on Musique Marécageuse (The Procession & Swamp Head Brewery) and interviewed on A Dozen Updates (The Procession Reunion Special)]. Oggy is named after Ogopogo, a lake monster said to inhabit Okanagan Lake in British Columbia, Canada. Listen to Paul's previous Jukebox episode, Abigail Battles the Pink Goblets (The Flaming Lips). Read the jambands.com article about MGMT's performance on the Live on Letterman concert series, which introduced Paul to the band! Of Moons, Birds & Monsters reminds Abigail in mood and tone of Space Oddity by David Bowie and The Commander Thinks Aloud by The Long Winters. There is a fantastic episode of Song Exploder focused on The Commander Thinks Aloud, which was written about the Space Shuttle Columbia. Our next Jukebox episode will be Thriller by Michael Jackson, submitted by Todd Sider. This episode is scheduled to drop on September 29, 2023. Up next… We Sing. We Dance. The audio in me recognizes the stereo in you. Comedians and cousins Maureen Begley and Ang Buxton highlight 2 musical artists from Mississippi. This is the Stars of the States. We'll tell you some reasons to stay alive, our favorite We Sing bops, dads, Cobra Kai, Human Resources, and of course, cats. Stay tuned for our hit single, Pastries by the Park. Ang tells the story of The Weeks, Mississippi's gutter punk band and insists you listen to 2 of their songs specifically (you'll have to listen to know which.) Maureen tells us about a few women out of Mississippi including Tammy Wynette, who did the twang so that Lee Ann Rimes and Shania Twain could sang. She also touches on Bobbie Gentry, the OG. I'm Yours教唱有的人说一见钟情(Love at first sight)只属于童话,有人说一见钟情才是这辈子注定的爱情。 Well you done done me and you bet I felt it我承认你已经俘获我了,你心里也清楚得很是的,在我们两眼交触的瞬间,你就能感到,我已经完全被你俘虏。 2002年发行首张专辑《Waiting For My Rocket To Come》出道。2008年发行专辑《We Sing, We Dance, We Steal Things》,专辑歌曲《I'm Yours》在美国公告牌单曲榜上停留76周。 New Words:Crack [kræk] n. Well you done done me and you bet I felt it我承认你已经俘获我了,你心里也清楚得很Me and 连读 and d省音 Bet I连读 Felt it连读 it t省音I tried to be chill but you're so hot that I melted我压制着自己,但你的美早已让我失去克制的心Tried d省音 but you连读 hot t省音 that I连读 melted d省音I fell right through the cracks我坠入爱河Right t省音and now I'm trying to get back现在我尽量让自己清醒And弱读 d省音get t省音 back不完全爆破Before the cool done run out在我还能装的像个高冷的帅哥时Run out连读 out I'll连读I'll be giving it my bestest我要把自己最帅的一面拿出来Giving it连读 it t省音 bestest t省音Nothing's going to stop me but divine intervention现在除了上帝没什么能阻止我了Going but弱读 but t省音I reckon it's again my turn to win some or learn some要么收获爱情要么收获教训了reckon it's 连读 some or 连读But I won't hesitate no more, no more但是不能再怂下去,是时候了But I连读 won't t省音 hesitate t省音It cannot wait I'm yours我等不及告诉你,我已经是你的俘虏了It t省音

"We Sing to the Lord a New Song" is Dorothy Bergquist’s beautiful setting of Psalm 149. Carolyn Bergquist, soprano. Marla Lowen, pianist. Many of us who attend the 9:30 AM service don’t remember a time without sung psalms. At Deacon Penny Berktold’s direction, we started singing responsorial psalms back in the 1990s. At the time, Ruth Breidenthal was our organist and Dorothy Bergquist was our parish choir director. Dorothy’s daughter, Carolyn Bergquist’s experience as a cantor in a Catholic church helped guide us to our first sung psalm sources. When we were missing psalm settings, Dorothy Bergquist composed them. Marla Lowen, Ruth’s successor as organist, and Carolyn, our original psalmist, recorded all of Dorothy’s psalms so as to have a record of her work. Carolyn has graciously shared these recordings with us.

We're here! (back) The podcast didn't end and we came back for some nostalgia. Another set of 80's kids movies that we take the time to try to figure out if they are really kid friendly or not. We watch The Neverending Story and talk about the deep messages that it conveys, Labyrinth and how it's a live action "Where's Waldo" game, and The Dark Crystal where we talk about how it just might be a Muppet Star Wars. We get a little crazy, have our tangents AND as an added bonus, WE SING. Yeah... we are so very sorry... come join us on a wild ride. also for the song used in the new intro:Nebula by Savfk | https://www.youtube.com/savfkmusicMusic promoted by https://www.free-stock-music.comAttribution 4.0 International (CC BY 4.0)https://creativecommons.org/licenses/by/4.0/
There are many ways to introduce a new song to a young student. However, without a slowly paced, careful sequence, even a short, simple melody taught by rote can be a challenge for our young singers. And, teaching by rote is difficult if our students are not engaged. One of our goals in the lesson studio is to gradually move our students from learning by rote to following a score. This takes time and dedication in every lesson or vocal class, but the reward is students who are confident in discovering new music. If we just try try try如果我们不断尝试Just to be ni-ni-nice尝试去友好地对待一切Then the world would be a better place for you and I那么这个世界在你我心中将会更加美好虽然会感觉俗俗的,老老的,但真的,只要人人都献出一点爱,世界将变成美好的人间。 2002年发行首张专辑《Waiting For My Rocket To Come》出道。2008年发行专辑《We Sing, We Dance, We Steal Things》,专辑歌曲《I'm Yours》在美国公告牌单曲榜上停留76周,另一首歌曲《Make It Mine》获得第52届格莱美奖之最佳流行男歌手奖 。2012年开启“Tour is a four letter word”巡回演唱会。 If we just try try try如果我们不断尝试Just t省音just to be ni-ni-nice尝试去友好地对待一切just t省音to的元音省音Then the world would be a better place for you and I那么这个世界在你我心中将会更加美好world d省音Would d省音be a连读better t浊化and d省音If we just live our lives如果我们用心去生活just t省音Putting our differences aside把一切不和谐抛到一边不去理P utting our连读differences aside连读Oh that would be so beautiful to me哦那这个世界将会是多么美丽that t would d省音to弱读

We Sing (with guest speaker Tyler Clarensau) Text (Ephesians 5:18-20): 18 And do not get drunk with wine, for that is debauchery, but be filled with the Spirit, 19 addressing one another in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing and making melody to the Lord with your heart, 20 giving thanks always and for everything to God the Father in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ,

We may go on about the latest Big New Game a bit too much in this episode. But we find time to stop talking about COD:MW3 and mention Skyrim a few times. Well more than a few times. In fact we mention it so much that our recording cut out for thirty seconds partway through Ste's review of Skyrim, but we feel confident that this won't affect your knowledge of Skyrim. You might not realise how much Ste likes to drink in parks though. If we get the FULL UNEDITED review then we'll make it available, although we might have to improve our sneaking skills so we can get it past The Man first. As well as impressing Ann with our Skyrim talk, we also have Nik Blower from Nordic Games on the show and he seems just as into Skyrim as Ann does. He manages to pull us away from Skyrim for a few moments so that he can talk about his new We Sing game. However, he fails to tell us that Muenchner Freiheit are on We Sing Deutsche Hits (except it's not Keeping The Dream Alive - fingers crossed for the sequel though!). The majority of our contributors were too busy playing Skyrim to send anything in this week, but Daria managed to get something to us. It was, as usual, amazing. But not as amazing as Skyrim.
