Tonight on Spirit-Centered Business, Scott and I discuss the state of the church, and its impact on culture...and what to do about it.Scott Bryditzki is a business leader, speaker, and pastor in the Sacramento, CA area. He began his career in the food brokerage business in the 1980's and after 18 years he left his management position with the company and purchased a small food brokerage. Over the next decade the company grew to become one of the leading specialty brokerages in the western United States. In 2013 Scott sold his shares to the minority shareholders.During the next 2 1/2 years, Scott volunteered part time at Destiny Christian Church while doing his ministry schooling. He obtained his pastoral license and was brought on staff at Destiny Christian Church in Rocklin California as the Pastor of Community Development. He and his wonderful wife Debbie of 38 years also pastor the couples in their Marriage Enrichment Class and do marriage and individual counseling. Scott also leads a group of Christian business owners called Kingdom Builders, and speaks at various marketplace ministries around the area. Scott and Debbie have 4 children including an adopted daughter from Haiti and currently have 4 grandchildren but are expecting their kids to at least double that number!TOPICS:- Awakening the church- Focusing on 4 mountains of culture- Lay leaders- Walked away from income to more purpose- Christian principles in business- Doing service projects- Holy Spirit structure- Strategy to impact culture in region - state- “Christian life” just sitting in church once a week- 2 Mandates: Evangelistic and Cultural- Jesus movement/revival in the 70's- Government, Education, Arts & Entertainment, Media, Business, Family have not been impacted by the Church- Required to have ROI in business- 78% of people who call themselves Christians didn't even vote- Best practices of blueprint to model transforming culture- Strategy for after revival- Unbiblical approach pastors take toward business people- Giftings not just to give money to do ministry- Being the Chief Sheepdog gathering people & coalitions- Doing culture shifting in Ekklesia groups- People in church aren't necessarily saved- Churches are supposed to be “Discipleship Centers”- Transformation Center launching in Rocklin, CA- Mobilization is key- Shout out to Kingdom Equipping Center- Shout out to Larry Hill- Finding synergy together- Changed the outcome of a local school board electionGOLD NUGGETS:1. In business you're required to make a return on your investment - otherwise you'll go out of business - you're forced to make it work. But there's no requirement for ROI - no pressure to make it work, in the church. History shows that the culture took a nosedive after the revival of the 70's because of lack of follow through. Let's not let that happen again.2. What precedes a revival is an awakening, but then you have to have a transformation of the church as it goes into the culture. Then those lives have to be transformed, not just for salvation but for lordship to step into culture. The final piece is the reformation of culture. Restructuring what culture looks like and how it functions from a Kingdom model.3. We need to charge the gates of hell to rip people out, rather than taking a backseat approach. It's a winnowing time to separate the sheep from the goats. It's time for pastors to become new wineskins and stop doing the same old thing that makes no difference in culture.4. Business people have been given giftings not to give money to the pastors to do ministry, but God has called every one of us to do ministry...through our business.QUOTES:- If you just want another Christian business networking group, I'm not your guy. But if you want to actually DO something that impacts the Kingdom, I'm your guy.- The church, for the most part, has walked away from the cultural mandate Jesus gave us.- He's given us armor to go out into battle, not to sit in the church.- It's in business that you can fund the change in the world that you want to see.- The BB guns of individual churches need to stack together to form a shotgun that blows a hole in culture.LINKS:- Connect with Scott here: Scott@DestinyOnline.com- Scott gave a shout out to https://www.jesuscares.com- Bralynn gave a shout out to http://KingdomEquippingCenter.com- Join the SCB Tribe: http://facebook.com/groups/scbtribe- Design your Leveraged, Scalable & Sustainable business model that brings Transformation in the world. In today's News: Preemie babies saved in Louisiana Thousands of people from Lake Charles, La, were forced to evacuate as Hurricane Laura approached from the Gulf of Mexico last week. The powerful Category 4 hurricane threatened 150 mph winds and catastrophic storm surges, causing nearly one-million people to flee from Texas and Louisiana, with the Lake Charles area ultimately the hardest hit. Yet a small group of brave people remained behind to care for babies who weren’t able to leave. Nineteen babies remained in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) at Lake Charles Memorial Hospital, and a team of 14 nurses, two neonatal nurse practitioners, three respiratory therapists, and one doctor stayed behind to make sure they stayed safe. Some of the babies weighed as little as one pound, others relied on ventilators, feeding tubes, and respirators, and some were born premature as early as 23 weeks. The team slept in shifts when they could to make sure someone was always caring for the babies. The babies had been moved from the women’s hospital to the main hospital in advance of the storm, as the main building had a generator and was built to withstand hurricane-force winds. California churches fight to stay open As California officials continue threatening residents for exercising their First Amendment right to religious assembly, one Christian pastor is standing up to offer to pay any legal penalties for those who worship in defiance of state mandates. Democrat Gov. Gavin Newsom has banned indoor religious services, along with various types of secular gatherings, in 29 counties representing 80 percent of the state’s population, in the name of containing the spread of covid-19. Numerous churches have defied the order, including Grace Community Church of Sun Valley, Cornerstone Church of Fresno, Destiny Christian Church of Rocklin and Harvest Rock Church of Pasadena. Last week, Pastor Ché Ahn Of Harvest Rock Church announced that he would pay for any tickets given to those who choose to attend in person despite the order, Pasadena Now reported. Local officials have threatened Ahn with fines, jail time, or worse for his civil disobedience. Another pro-abortion group accused of racism The National Organization for Women (NOW) appears to be the latest pro-abortion group accused of racism at the highest levels of leadership. Abortion giant Planned Parenthood has dealt with numerous accusations of racism in recent weeks, as has NARAL Pro-Choice America. NOW, founded in 1966 by feminist icon Betty Friedan, fractured after two pro-abortion men, Lawrence Lader qnd Bernard Nathanson, convinced Friedan to add abortion rights to the organization’s platform. Lader maintained that in order for abortion to be legalized, the eugenic agenda must be hidden from the public, and “women… and some blacks” must be kept “out front” once recruited to the cause. Recently, The Daily Beast reporter Emily Shugerman conducted interviews with nearly a dozen members and employees of now who claim that women of color were being “heckled, silenced, or openly disparaged at now meetings and offices.” As a result, 26 of 35 now state chapters signed a letter demanding the resignation of NOW’s president, Toni Van Pelt.

In today's News: Pharmacist fired for not dispensing abortion-inducing drugs Life Legal is representing a pharmacist who has told her employer she cannot dispense prescriptions for abortion-inducing drugs, including oral birth control and emergency contraception. The pharmacist, who is Catholic, has made it clear that dispensing the drugs violates her deeply held beliefs. The pharmacy said if she did not change her position, she would be terminated immediately. The pharmacist did not back down. She has worked for the pharmacy for many years and has always received a religious accommodation to exempt her from dispensing prescriptions that violate her conscience. This year, however, the pharmacy is saying that birth control and morning after pills are “essential” services. Athletes allowed to defend women's sports law A federal district court yesterday granted the motion of two female athletes to intervene in defense of Idaho’s Fairness in Women’s Sports Act, which the American Civil Liberties Union is challenging in court. The lawsuit seeks to dismantle Idaho’s newly enacted law and force female athletes to compete against males who identify as female. Alliance defending freedom attorneys represent the two collegiate athletes, who run track and cross-country at Idaho State University in Pocatello. The two women, Madison Kenyon and Mary Kate Marshall, are long-time athletes, well familiar with the difference in strength and speed between comparably gifted and trained male and female athletes. In its order granting the motion to intervene in Hecox v. Little, the U.S. District Court for the District of Idaho also temporarily halted enforcement of Idaho’s law while the lawsuit against it moves forward. Church wins against state Pastor John Macarthur’s Grace Community Church in California may hold indoor services without legal retaliation for now, Los Angeles Superior Court Judge James Chalfant ruled Friday. California’s Democratic Governor Gavin Newsom has banned indoor religious services along with various types of secular gatherings in 29 counties representing 80 percent of the state’s population in the name of containing the spread of covid-19. Numerous churches have defied the order, including Grace Community Church, Cornerstone Church of Fresno, Destiny Christian Church of Rocklin and Harvest Rock Church Of Pasadena. In Los Angeles, conflict over the order has intensified to the point that Democrat Mayor Eric Garcetti has ordered that power and water be shut off to buildings where gatherings continue taking place. Grace Community Church Sued The State Over The Ban, And Los Angeles County Counter-Sued, but Chalfant sided with Grace, the Associated Press reports. The judge’s ruling allows the church to gather in person for the time being, provided congregants wear masks and socially distance within the building. He set a September date for a hearing on Los Angeles County’s counter-demand for an injunction against the church meeting in person.

Are we allowing ourselves on an individual level, to be challenged by what we are hearing from the pulpit? What are we doing with that material the next day? If we desire to lead Christ-like lives, we must go beyond what transpires in a service. Motivation Behind the Beyond The Pulpit Podcast: "We can get into a place as Christians where we show up to service, hear a good message, then continue with our lives. Are we allowing ourselves on an individual level, to be challenged by what we are hearing from the pulpit? What are we doing with that material the next day? If we desire to lead Christ-like lives, we must go beyond what transpires in a service. If scripture truly is the guideline for our lives, we must go beyond hearing a message per week, to applying it daily. We must go beyond the pulpit.
