We’re pulling this lost episode of EPJ out of solitary confinement. It’s time to review Lee Daniel’s 2012 The Paperboy. Take a trip to the bijou of 1969 Florida for this Southern Gothic Noir crime story. It's messy, sweaty and full of A-list actors playing it real dumb. Enjoy the water sports, rough trade sex, prison masturbation, alligator disembowelment, and southern fried racism. It’s also a touching coming-of-age story about family.
Welcome to Kung Fu Bar Rescue, AKA Roadhouse 1989. This movie is good/bad, smart/stupid, skinny/fat. It’s peaks 80’s with Monster Trucks, Ferrari’s, Big Hair, and Roadhouse kicks. In a parallel time time, Patrick Swayze could have been the action movie hero of the decade. Listen to Gabe and Sami on this classic EPJ episode. Rate, Review, and Share
Lindsay Lohan is the apex predator “it” girl and she crushes it in this week’s EPJ film, Mean Girls, as the new homeschooled kid, trying to navigate her first experiences in a affluent Chicagoland suburbia. Lohan has a little help for the stellar supporting cast including Amy Poehler, Tina Fey, Tim Meadows, and Lizzie Caplan. Rate, Review, and Share!
Earl Pearson took home $202,000 dollars from Mansfield Motor Speedway. The first ever Dirt Million had everything a fan could ask for. An eventful last ten laps would see EPJ take the lead over Bobby Pierce and collect the second largest payday in dirt late model racing. We also talk about Attica Raceway wrapping up their regular season and look towards a visit from the All Stars this weekend. On the docket is also the new World of Outlaw rule changes that have caused so much discussion over the past week.
Bryan and Joel discuss all things Avengers : Infinity War. The guys recap which predictions they got right and the pros and cons of the latest MCU film. They also pay tribute to the one and only EPJ for finishing Game of Thrones! Music Credit: Fluorescent Adolescent by Arctic Monkeys
Bryan and Joel make a less than triumphant return to the Pod. Topics include, Jumanji: Welcome to the Jungle, New Mountain Dew flavors, Everything Sucks!, the vast amount of content on Netflix, and of course a Personal Pan Pizza bit of the week. Shout out to EPJ! Music Credit: Fluorescent Adolescent by Arctic Monkeys
Bienvenidos a La Hora Faniática.
"We live in an era that tells us to take time for ourselves, to treat ourselves. But while we are told that we deserve to indulge ourselves, our culture isn't interested in our deepest needs." The Rev. E. Suzanne Wille preaches on the ninth Sunday after Pentecost (July 26, 2015). Readings: 2 Sam. 11:1-15; Ps. 14; Epj. 3:14-21; Jn. 6:1-21.
