18 baby, 18. What can the haters say now? Truly, what can they say? They have nothing, our team is champions. Jayson Tatum, Jaylen Brown, Derrick White, Al Hereford, Kristaps Porzingis, and everyone else just got a ring. There is nothing the media and all these fake NBA fans who do not know anything can say anymore. We won, and boy does it feel great. 16 years baby. 16. We had to watch lineups with Gerald Wallace, Jared Sullinger, Courtney Lee, Greg Stiemsma, Brandon Bass, and more (sorry for the strays fellas). We had to listen to Lakers talk mess about having the most banners, but it does not matter anymore. WE ARE CHAMPIONS. I love this city, I love this team, and I love our fanbase. Go freaking Celtics man, GO CELTICS.
Bobcats legend Gerald Wallace stops by to chat with Sam Farber after he was recently honored by Buzz City. Sam is also joined by Rob Longo to discuss the recent play of Brandon Miller, as well as a preview of Charlotte's game against Indiana.See omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.
With logistics from trade deadline deals looming large, the Hornets only had 10 available players at Milwaukee, five of which are rookies. The Hornets dropped a 120-84 decision against the Bucks, but will face the Memphis Grizzlies on the second night of a back-to-back with reinforcements in Tre Mann, Davis Bertans, Vasilije Micic, Grant Williams and Seth Curry. Rob Longo and Sam Perley break down Charlotte's loss to Milwaukee and preview Buzz City's showdown against the Grizzlies. Meanwhile, Sam Farber chats with Matt Carroll as the Hornets get set to honor former Bobcat great Gerald Wallace during the Memphis game.See omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.
The Charlotte Bobcats existed for 10 seasons and racked up a grand total of zero playoff wins. The pinnacle of the franchise came in 2009/10, when the Stephen Jackson and Gerald Wallace-led Bobcats made the playoffs and ranked first in defense.Stephen Jackson arrived in Charlotte nine games into the 2009/10 season after being traded from Golden State. Stak was just two years removed from making history with the 2007 We Believe Warriors. That Warriors core - featuring Baron Davis, Matt Barnes, Jason Richardson and Al Harrington - dismantled quickly following their magical run. By 2009, Captain Jack was the lone sailor left, and he wasn't happy. He publicly requested a trade in the summer of 2009 and was shipped off to the Bobcats in December.Directly following the trade, reporters asked Bobcats head coach Larry Brown if he was worried about Jackson joining his locker room. Stak had a bad reputation following the Malice at the Palace, and more recently from a sideline blow-up with his old Warriors coach, Don Nelson. But Brown was not worried at all. Jackson, he said, shared certain qualities with his former student, Allen Iverson. "I can deal with (high-maintenance) kids. All you have to do is be straight with them,' Brown said. ‘After six years with Allen (Iverson in Philadelphia), I don't look at anybody as a challenge. (Jackson) wants to play and he's a competitor. Guys like that you can make work in your locker room."With Jackson, Wallace, Tyson Chandler and Boris Diaw, the Bobcats won a franchise-high 44 games and made the playoffs for the first time in their history. Despite getting swept in the first round, this 2010 season is a source of great pride for Jackson.Catch new episodes of Forgotten Seasons every Wednesday. Learn more about your ad choices. In this episode of Sports the NEMO way we bring the Charlotte Hornets top 5 to the table for discussion.
Swarm and Sting's B.W. Whitted joined our host, Joshua Balta, to discuss the biggest topic surrounding the Charlotte Hornets at the moment...Michael Jordan possibly selling his majority stake in the organization. The two go in depth on the topic dissecting Jordan's tenure in Charlotte from a basketball standpoint, community level, and even to what it would mean to the league as a whole if MJ were to sell the team. In addition, B.W. recently wrote an article that was inspired by a Hornets fan who has started a petition to have Gerald Wallace's jersey retired in Charlotte. B.W. provides reasons as to why he believes Crash's number should be in the rafters at the Spectrum Center. The discussion gives way to an over-arching question of, "Which Charlotte players' jerseys should be retired?"
We have our first Alabama A&M alumnus on the show! Mickell Gladness drops in to share his inspiring journey in hoops for an episode that you will all enjoy. Sometimes you don't have to grow up being the star to get to where you want to be with this game and this episode is a great example of that.Gladness was never the star in basketball growing up. He went to Lawson CC out of high school before playing his last 3 years of college at Alabama A&M. He led the nation in blocks per game with a 6.3 average and set the NCAA record, surpassing David Robinson with 16 blocks in a single game. After not being selected in the 2004 NBA Draft, Gladness had to fight for an NBA roster spot where he played with LeBron, Wade, and Bosh in Miami, and a young Steph Curry and Klay Thompson in the Golden State. Gladness went on to have great success overseas and even had a stop in Reno with our Reno Bighorns. Mickell shares great stories about Gerald Wallace, Jamario Moon, LeBron, D-Wade, Bosh, Luka Doncic, Dwight Howard, Reno, Mike Atkinson, experiences overseas, coaching and MUCH more!It was truly an honor having Mickell on the podcast and we can't thank him enough for his time. We are forever grateful for him taking the time to share his journey in basketball and all of the great things that he has in the works. Definitely a great listen for all of the young hoopers coming up!Thank you Mickell Gladness! You can find this episode on Apple, Spotify or any source for podcasts.Follow us on social media for news, updates and highlight reels!Facebook - https://www.facebook.com/notin.myhouse.79Instagram- @Not_in_my_house_podcastTwitter - @NOTINMYHOUSEpc

Bernard Robinson is in the house! We are honored to learn from another DC area great and one of our favorites to wear a Michigan jersey. We love trying to help the young hoopers coming up on this podcast and Bernard shares great stories and knowledge in this one.Robinson grew up taking basketball very serious at a young age. The 6'6'' left hander starred at Michigan before being selected 45th overall by the Charlotte Bobcats in the 2004 NBA Draft. He told us all about growing up in DC, ABCD Camp, Michigan, his journey to the NBA, playing for an expansion team, James "Flight" White, DerMarr Johnson, Kevin Martin, hilarious Michael Jordan & Adam Morrison story, Gerald Wallace, Brevin Knight, wild experiences overseas, his management firm, and MUCH more.We loved our time with B-Rob and can't thank him enough for taking the time to hang out and talk hoops with us. Truly one of the nicest and realist guests that we have had on this show and ranks as one of our favorites. What he is doing for retired athletes, as well as giving back to the youth and the game is bigtime and we have so much respect for him. Thanks Bernard Robinson!Support and checkout his firm at https://www.theexigencygroup.com/exigency1?fbclid=IwAR1BtuEZ0XERc-NvJq3AngtMdmaj7j1pdztsu27YYqEcm2X1So5R-7RU7-wYou can find this episode on Apple, Spotify or any source for podcasts.Follow us on social media for news, updates and highlight reels!Facebook - https://www.facebook.com/notin.myhouse.79Instagram- @Not_in_my_house_podcastTwitter - @NOTINMYHOUSEpc

Matt Stroup and Steve Alexander look at 15-plus years of fantasy (and real-life) dominance from LeBron James and Chris Paul, who have both pulled off the insane feat of being early-round fantasy players in 2005 and 2020. LeBron and CP3 also become the jumping-off point for a discussion on whether we should avoid players who are over 30, with Shawn Marion, Gerald Wallace, Gilbert Arenas and Chris Webber all serving to varying degrees as cautionary tales. Blazers Edge editor Steve DeWald and special guest Scott Hatley of Incight join Tara to discuss our choices for the all-decade team for 2010’s. But there was a twist: we couldn’t select a current Blazer. Who did we chose for point guard? Which other players from the 2010s made the list? Listen or read the highlights below and let us know who would be on your All-Decade team for the 2010s? Whose team would win? Incight, an organization dedicated to unlocking the potential of people with disabilities and other barriers, is raffling off a basketball signed by all of the Portland Trail Blazers. Enter for a chance to win for $15 per ticket. Drawing to be held on December 16 at 4pm. All proceeds from the raffle go to Incight. Highlights 1:00 Introducing Scott Hatley of Incight.org. 2:00 Born in 1979 and started attending games with his family very young. Remembers crying when the team lost and loving the players. Remembers sneaking peanuts and soda into games with his dad. 3:00 Incight is an organization that focuses on education, employment and independence for people with disabilities and other barriers. Scott uses an electric wheelchair. 7:45 In his experience the Trail Blazers and the Moda center are doing a good job of making the venue accessible. 11:30 Pick out your all-decade team from the 2010s, but it can’t include anyone from the current roster. That made it really hard to pick out a point guard! 13:30 Point Guards. Steve picks Andre Miller, he’s tied for number 10 in the number of total assists in Portland. Tara also chose Andre Miller. His 52 points game was on January 30, 2010, so even if it was barely in the decade, Tara counts it. She wants to know how many of his assists were alley-oops? Scott chose Steve Blake because Blake was consistent. Tara would have also said Mo Williams because of how he stood up to Andrew Bogut in a fight. 16:55 Shooting guard. For Steve it was Wesley Matthews. A good three-point shooter, a leader in the locker room until Damian was ready to take it up. Who knows what would have happened with that team if he had stayed healthy? Scott also chose the Iron Man, that was one of the hardest departures, when Matthews left the team. Tara chose Brandon Roy because even though he played more in the previous decade he technically did play in the 2010s. We remember the Brandon Roy come back game 4 vs Dallas. 19:50 Small forward choices: Steve chose Nic Batum. Even though he didn’t put up huge numbers he did a little bit of everything and we got to watch him grow up. Scott thought about putting Brandon Roy in at the 3, but ultimately decided to go with Batum as well. Tara chooses Gerald Wallace who wasn’t here for a long time but it was fun to watch him. He also had a great voice and it was fun to remember the Ger-ald Wal-lace chants. 23:50 Power Forward. Steve and Scott both choose LaMarcus Aldridge. Aldridge has the numbers to back up the case. Tara had a hard time choosing but ultimately went with Aldridge as well. 25:45 Did you all boo LaMarcus Aldridge when he came back? Steve wasn’t at the game but he says he probably would have boo’d him. Scott doesn’t think that he did. Tara did that first game but not after that. 28:30 Centers: Steve chose Robin Lopez, not only because of his play and how good the team was in 2013-14, but because the defense that the team uses to this day was built around Robin Lopez. Scott choses Joel Pryzbilla, he still has the Tom Petty song “Won’t Back Down” in his head. Tara chose Ed Davis. 33:00 Sixth man, Steve chose Ed Davis, Chris Kaman or Allen Crabbe. Scott’s choice for sixth man was Patty Mills, and Tara chose Al-Farouq Aminu. Learn more about your ad choices. Visit megaphone.fm/adchoices

Intro Opening comments Steve Dewald - first reactions to Carmelo Anthony signing Melo and “ring rust” 3:00 Could/Should Melo start? 7:00 How will Nassir Little’s role/rotation shift? 10:00 Can the Blazers take advantage of Melo’s knowledge? 13:00 Why does Melo deserve anything? 17:00 The difference between between chaos and dysfunction 22:00 The Pau Gasol question 26:00 What is the best case scenario for Little right now? 28:30 Nassir Little reminiscent of Gerald Wallace 31:30 What is Little’s ceiling by the end of the year? 33:00 Could we see more lineups with Kent Bazemore and Nassir Little? 35:00 Where is CJ McCollum at right now? 38:30 Was CJ hindered by the points of emphasis fouls? 41:30 What have we seen in Blazers wins and losses? 43:00 Blazers have not been able to control momentum at all this season 47:00 Maybe things aren’t as bad as they seem? 52:00 Were you surprised that Damian Lillard took the 3 for 60? 56:00 Closing comments Outro Learn more about your ad choices. A big week in the world of future-former Sixers. Anthony Bennett wasn't claimed, Gerald Wallace was waived, and Paul George seemed a little grumpy. As well, Nik Stauskas agreed to come on the Ricky. All of this, as well as some Twitter questions, Spin's fraudulent 50 Greatest Fictional Songs list, and Brett Brown's interview. Also, watch Mike's new show, The Grinder!
The podcast is back. We thank the natives for being restless and impatient. We'll be back on schedule now. The Sixers signed a point guard! By signing Kendall Marshall and trading for the contract of Gerald Wallace, the team has now acquired everyone they were supposed to during this era of Sixers basketball. We talk about Marshall, and catch up on everything we missed, including Embiid's surgery, Hinkie's telephone conference about it, Nerlens Noel's rank by Sports Illustrated, the legacy of Daryl Dawkins and Lil B's signing with the 87ers.
When the Hornets signed Michael Kidd-Gilchrist to a four-year deal earlier this week, it was a recognition of his talent and what he does for the Hornets when he's on the floor, and what happens to them when he's off of it (spoiler: bad things and losses). The Hornets franchise has had a foundational player at the small forward position ever since the dominant front court of Larry Johnson and Alonzo Mourning left town. Easy to get away with patchwork small forwards when you had those two guys anchoring the middle. Glen Rice, Jamal Mashburn, Gerald Wallace, and now Michael Kidd-Gilchrist, who will make our all-time team at arguably the most dynamic and dominant position in today's game. Welcome home, Gerald Wallace. In a move that Sixers Nation has been predicting for what seems like a decade, the Sixers obtained future former future Sixer Gerald Wallace and his contract in a trade for Jason Thompson that seems hilariously insignificant and significant. We talk about the trade, Joel Embiid's surgery delay, who the point guard will be and battle over updside.
The NBA Free Agency period has officially begun and the Celtics have the means, motive and opportunity to be major players in this years free agency competition. Many insiders have said the power of which conference is greater in the NBA could shift from West to East as many Stars on Western Conference teams are considering a jump to the Eastern Conference due to how easier it was to get to the playoff's and even in the Cleveland Cavaliers case the NBA Finals. This could be major for the Boston Celtics. As they will have not only the cap space to sign a atleast 1 max free agent. But if Danny Ainge can find a team willing to take Gerald Wallace for the last year of his contract hoping to cash in on his expiring contract in 2016. Then Ainge could make the cap space enough for 2 big name players and he would still have trade exceptions and other draft picks available to use in moves for other players. The rumors fly like crazy when it comes to the free agency pool. The Celtics have been linked to several big names whether it be via a trade of free agency that includes Kevin Love, DeAndre Jordan, Marc Gasol, Kawhi Leonard. That's just to name a few. Ainge has the money to sign anyone of those players and if he could get rid of Wallace possibly 2. Your Celtics Talk Crew will be joined by Rich Conte to breakdown the latest reports and rumors for the Celtics as well as any signing or trades that may have occured for the team.
We have reached the all-star break. The celtics are now at more then halfway through the season and what the celtics do over the next week will determine which decision Danny Ainge has decided to let his team go. By that we mean the trade deadline. The trade deadline is less then 1 week away. The celtics are link to several players and have the options needed to get rid of the players they dont want. From having a chance to get rid of Gerald Wallace potentially for Josh Smith. To possibly getting expiring contracts and good players like Spencer Hawes and Evan Turner. Whatever Ainge does over the next week will determine if he and the team have chosen to play for the playoffs or play for a loterry pick. Sean Bakke will be with us to discuss the latest rumors as well as the celtics recent 6 games that included 2 games vs the 2 worst teams in the nba.
the paul pierce/kevin garnett era in boston has ended. last night Danny Ainge traded away kg and pierce to the Brooklyn nets in exchange for Gerald Wallace, Kris Humphries, Reggie Evans, Tornike Shengalia, Keith Bogans, Kris Joseph, 1st round picks in 2014, 2016, 2018 and the right to swap draft picks in 2017. we will discuss what the trade means for both teams and debate was this move a good move by ainge
