First of all, just a reminder that Gladiator II is Rated R, which means that you'll want to proceed with caution - a great place to learn more about why movies receive their ratings is either PluggedInOnline (from Focus on the Family) or MovieGuide. Next, it is wise to look for “lessons” from every source to use as teachable moments with your children so that they are not just “consumers” of entertainment, but are able to watch and listen with discernment. What messages are being extolled, what virtues are being promoted, and are these good, right, and true? Watch or listen to our conversation about Gladiator II to learn more about some of the things that we took away from the movie - and leave some comments on our YouTube page about what you learned as well. Special shout out to Jared Wood for allowing us to use his music - check him out at JaredWoodMusic!
If I had to summarize Gladiator II, it would be the line from Proverbs 22:1 which tells us that a good name is to be chosen rather than great riches! The “good name” of Marcus Aurelius and Maximus is passed on to an inspires the life and efforts of Lucius - who sees how the pursuit of money and power ends up in corruption and deceit - and in the end it is worthless. Great question from this movie - what do you give “worth” to in your life - what do you worship? Many worship the gods of convenience and entertainment. I believe there is more to life - and I think that Gladiator II is not just an entertaining movie, but one that can make you think and wrestle with the great ideas and meaning of life…if you'll let it! T4M guys - just a reminder that Training4Manhood is a non-profit, 501(c)(3) ministry and you can make donations either via Zelle (info@training4manhood.com) or by visiting the Training4Manhood website. Huge thank you to Jared Wood for allowing T4M to use his music in our intro and outro selections.
Today on the UnNamed Podcast, the team go DEEP on some things which are probably better left unsaid. When they told today's co-host Manaia Stewart that no topic was off limits, they probably should have said "unless animals are involved". See omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.

Guest: Russ Crosson, chief mission officer and senior partner of Blue Trust (Ron Blue Institute), and author of Your Life…Well Spent: The Eternal Rewards of Investing Yourself and Your Money in Your Family If you'd like to watch this podcast, check out the PCA YouTube page. Russ - I manage my money to have more LIFE, not just more money! Russ - you need to know the difference between PROSPERITY (wealth/money/material possessions) and POSTERITY (children/legacy/generations to come). The Principle of Time Replacement: How to Add Posterity Time to Our Schedules “Time-saving” devices - we spend more time working in pursuit of more money or to buy more possessions that require time to use and maintain. As a result, the typical full-time employee's work week has expanded from forty to nearly fifty-seven hours. When you make spending decisions, ask, “How will this expense affect our entire family?” Principle of Replacement - the addition of new time commitments to my schedule usually involves a trade-off between work and posterity timeOnly say yes if the activity can replace something else that's already in your schedule that doesn't detract from your posterity time A New Understanding of Work #5 - Only change vocations to better fulfill your purpose and maximize your time flexibility - not to make more money #7 - If you're in a career that is currently generating sufficient income, carefully evaluate additional time spent to earn more income, especially if your children are young. Remember, your children's first ten years are the most critical A Good Name is Better Than Riches: Building Our Posterity's Social Capital Must take the time to train our children More money doesn't mean better lives…or better children Special shout out to Jared Wood for allowing us to use his music - check him out at JaredWoodMusic!
Marilyn Rivers had a stellar career and an impeccable reputation having served for nearly 20 years as the Director of Risk and Safety for the New York city of Saratoga Springs. About 18-months away from this 20-year mark where she would be eligible for her pension, a newly elected commissioner set his sights on her to settle an "old score" from fifteen years ago. Rivers wanted to do this podcast because she never had a chance to defend herself, her record, or address the toxic behavior of this commissioner during the entire ordeal. She told me that she needed to do the podcast because she wanted her "voice" and her good name back. This is slated to be Part 1 of a multi-part series. Stay tuned for the next episode when Marilyn will reveal tips, tricks, and tactics to reduce your insurance costs and make you look like a star for your governing body or your city manager. A Pennsylvania Moms for Liberty leader will file defamation lawsuits to restore her good name after she was falsely accused of harassment in what she calls an orchestrated smear campaign.Nicole Marie Prussman, chairwoman of the Monroe County, Pennsylvania, chapter of the parental rights group, received a citation for harassment in April, after news reports of the charge came out in March.Although a magistrate court judge initially found Prussman guilty without a proper fair trial, the case was dismissed on appeal when the state ruled that Prussman's accuser failed to corroborate her alleged evidence.Yet the news outlets that reported the charges against Prussman have not reported her acquittal. Now, the Coalition for Liberty, a nonprofit dedicated to combating cancel culture, will represent her in court as she goes on the offensive. The Coalition for Liberty has not clarified which individuals or entities it plans to sue on Prussman's behalf, but it has vowed to bring litigation against anyone who broke the law in defaming her.Prussman became the target of "a very organized hit job by a group called Stop Moms for Liberty," Doug Turpin, president and board chair of Coalition for Liberty, told "The Daily Signal Podcast." "They planned this. You can even see online how they were getting their members to plot to file harassment charges against Moms for Liberty all across the country. This was a deliberate attempt to cancel Nicole [Prussman] simply because she was speaking out on behalf of children because of inappropriate and highly sexual content."Enjoy the show!
