In this episode of the Ultimate Intimacy Podcast, Nick and Amy continue their discussion from episode 501 with Austin, and discuss one of the most common dynamics in marriage: different levels and patterns of sexual desire. For many husbands, sexual desire can feel strong, spontaneous, and always ready to go. But instead of allowing that desire to turn into frustration, pressure, or resentment when intimacy doesn't happen, men can learn how to harness that energy and use it in other ways to strengthen attraction, connection, and their marriage. For many wives, desire may work differently. Rather than appearing spontaneously, sexual desire can often be responsive, awakening through emotional connection, affection, flirting, feeling desired, reducing stress, anticipation, and intentionally making space for intimacy. That means neither spouse has to simply accept, “This is just how I am.” Both can better understand their sexuality and learn how to cultivate desire in healthy, intentional ways.Couples can stop allowing differences in libido to divide them and instead work together to create an intimate relationship where both spouses feel wanted, understood, pursued, and satisfied. Having different levels of desire doesn't mean you're incompatible. The goal isn't for one spouse to suppress their sexuality or for the other to force desire, it's learning how to understand, cultivate, and enjoy sexual intimacy together. Trust us, you can have different desires and still have a great intimate marriage.

Why do two people who deeply love each other sometimes struggle so much in the bedroom? This week on the Ultimate Intimacy Podcast, Nick and Amy dive into one of the biggest sources of frustration in marriage: men and women often experience and understand sex very differently. When we view our spouse's sexual behavior through our own lens, it's easy to feel rejected, pressured, unwanted, or misunderstood. But when we understand why our spouse may view physical intimacy differently, those differences can become a bridge instead of a barrier.Nick and Amy unpack several of the biggest differences between husbands and wives when it comes to sex.Sex as a Physical Need vs. an Emotional GatewayFor many husbands, physical intimacy is one of the primary ways they experience love, connection, reassurance, and emotional closeness. Feeling desired by their wife can make them feel deeply valued and connected. For many wives, the process can work in the opposite direction. Emotional connection, feeling loved, heard, supported, and safe can create the environment where sexual desire can grow. That can create a frustrating cycle:He wants sex to feel connected → she wants connection to feel ready for sex. Both are seeking connection—but they're approaching it from opposite directions.Spontaneous Desire vs. Responsive DesireNick and Amy also discuss the difference between spontaneous and responsive desire. Many men can experience desire seemingly out of nowhere. A thought, a visual cue, or simply being around their wife can spark sexual desire. Many women experience desire more responsively. Desire may develop after affection, emotional connection, relaxation, flirting, touch, and feeling safe and connected. When couples don't understand this difference, a husband may interpret his wife's lack of immediate desire as rejection, while a wife may wonder why her husband seems ready for sex when she hasn't even mentally switched gears.Stress Can Affect Men and Women DifferentlyHere's another major difference: stress doesn't always affect spouses the same way.For many husbands, physical intimacy can be a way to relax, reconnect, and escape the stress of the day.For many wives, stress can completely shut down sexual desire. If she's carrying the mental load of work, kids, finances, housework, and everything else on her plate, it can be difficult to transition from “I have 47 things to do” to “I'm ready for intimacy.”Understanding this difference can help couples stop taking each other's responses personally and start working together.Visual vs. Experiential StimulationNick and Amy also talk about how husbands and wives can be stimulated differently.Men are often highly visually stimulated, while many women are more influenced by the overall experience and context—how their husband talks to them, treats them, touches them, listens to them, helps them, and makes them feel throughout the day.For a wife, what happens outside the bedroom can have a huge impact on what happens inside the bedroom. So How Do Couples Bridge the Gap?Understanding the differences is only the beginning. Couples need to learn how to meet each other in the middle.Nick and Amy share practical ways to do that, including:Give zero-pressure affection. Let a hug just be a hug sometimes. Physical touch doesn't always have to lead to sex.Practice emotional foreplay all day. Connection, flirting, kindness, communication, and helping carry the mental load can all contribute to intimacy.Communicate your bids for intimacy clearly. Husbands can express their desire without making it feel like a demand, and wives can communicate when they're not ready without making their husbands feel unwanted.Create more safety and playfulness. Take the pressure off and make intimacy something you both look forward to rather than something one spouse is constantly requesting and the other is constantly avoiding.Ultimately, men and women aren't necessarily fighting against each other—they're often fighting to have their own needs understood.A husband may be thinking, “Why doesn't she want me?”A wife may be thinking, “Why doesn't he understand what I need to want him?”Both may be longing for the same thing: connection. When a husband learns to pursue his wife's heart as well as her body, and a wife understands that her husband's desire for physical intimacy can be deeply connected to his desire for love and reassurance, couples can stop fighting their differences and start using them to create greater intimacy.Your spouse isn't necessarily wrong because they experience sex differently than you do. They may simply be wired differently. The goal isn't to make your spouse think like you.The goal is to understand how they experience intimacy—and learn how to love them in a way they can actually feel.Tune in as Nick and Amy unpack the differences between male and female desire, what couples commonly misunderstand about sex, and practical ways to turn those differences into a stronger, more connected and passionate marriage.

Why does sexual intimacy seem to be connected to so many other areas of marriage? When couples are struggling with communication, resentment, emotional disconnection, trust, affection, stress, or feeling unappreciated, their sex life often struggles too. And when sexual intimacy disappears or becomes a source of conflict, those other problems can sometimes feel even bigger. So is sex actually causing the problems, or is the lack of sex revealing problems that already exist? In this episode of the Ultimate Intimacy Podcast, Nick and Amy sit down with marriage therapist Austin, LMFT, to unpack the complicated relationship between sexual intimacy and the overall health of a marriage. For many couples, sex isn't just sex. It can represent feeling wanted, desired, connected, accepted, loved, pursued, and chosen. At the same time, a healthy sex life usually doesn't exist in isolation. Emotional connection, kindness, loyalty, respect, communication, trust, and effort all play an important role in creating the kind of relationship where great sexual intimacy can thrive. That's why problems in the bedroom can sometimes be a symptom of what's happening outside the bedroom, and problems outside the bedroom can quickly show up inside it.The goal isn't simply to “have more sex.” It's to create a marriage where both spouses are intentionally building the emotional and relational foundation that allows mutual, wanted, connecting sexual intimacy to thrive.Because sometimes what's happening, or not happening in the bedroom is telling you something important about what's happening everywhere else in your marriage.

Why Feeling Pressured for Sex Is a Turn-Off for WivesWhat if the very thing you're doing to get more sex is actually the thing making your spouse want less sex? This week on the Ultimate Intimacy Podcast, Nick and Amy tackle a topic that can create a lot of frustration in marriage: why feeling pressured for sex can be such a major turn-off for wives. There's a big difference between feeling wanted and feeling expected. For many women, sexual desire is responsive which means it often grows out of emotional connection, affection, relaxation, safety, attraction and feeling close to their husband. You can't pressure someone into feeling desire. But pressure can create a painful cycle:He feels rejected → pursues harder → she feels pressured → she withdraws → he feels even more rejected → he pursues even harder. Both spouses end up hurting, and neither may realize they're stuck in a cycle.Nick and Amy discuss five ways husbands can unintentionally create pressure, including when every touch becomes sexual, reacting negatively to rejection, keeping score, constantly testing the waters, and making affection feel transactional. But this isn't a “blame the husband” episode.Husbands aren't wrong for wanting sex, wanting to feel desired, or initiating. Wives have responsibility too. Wives need to communicate what helps them feel connected and sexually open, recognize that physical intimacy can be an important way their husband experiences love and reassurance, and take ownership of their own sensuality and sexual relationship. The answer isn't for husbands to stop pursuing their wives. It's learning how to pursue without creating pressure.Give affection without strings attached. Respond well to “no.” Build connection throughout the day. Help carry the mental load because you're her partner—not as a transaction for sex. Create opportunities for intimacy without demanding a specific outcome.Ultimately, pressure doesn't create desire. Safety, connection, attraction, playfulness and invitation create an environment where desire can grow. And both spouses have an important role to play:Wives shouldn't expect husbands to stop wanting sex. Husbands shouldn't expect wives to want sex on command. The goal isn't for one spouse to win.The goal is to create a marriage where both spouses genuinely want to pursue each other.Tune in as Nick and Amy unpack this complicated dynamic, talk about what husbands and wives can each do differently, and explore how couples can break the pressure/rejection cycle and build a more mutually passionate marriage.

Why do we put so much effort into winning our spouse's heart while dating, only to slowly stop doing those same things once we're married? In this episode of the Ultimate Intimacy Podcast, Nick and Amy sit down with marriage therapist Austin, LMFT, to talk about one of the most common traps couples fall into: getting comfortable and unintentionally stopping the pursuit. When you were dating, you probably made time for each other, planned dates, flirted, showed affection, listened closely, expressed appreciation, and looked for ways to make the other person feel wanted. But after marriage, careers, kids, responsibilities, stress, and everyday life can slowly take over. Before long, spouses can start feeling more like roommates than lovers. So what happens when we stop pursuing each other? And more importantly, how do we start again?Nick, Amy, and Austin discuss why continuing to pursue your spouse is essential for emotional and sexual intimacy, how small efforts can make a huge difference, and why feeling wanted, chosen, and prioritized matters so much in a healthy marriage. You worked hard to win your spouse's heart. Don't stop pursuing it just because you already have it.

In this episode of the Ultimate Intimacy Podcast, Nick and Amy dive into the critical connection between mutual respect and sexual intimacy in marriage. While it is common for husbands to seek greater physical connection and wives to crave emotional connection, a lack of respect often creates a disconnect that impacts both areas. We emphasize that a passionate, fulfilling intimate life is built on a foundation of daily respect, teamwork, and intentional effort. They outline 10 practical ways couples can demonstrate respect to strengthen their bond, cultivate trust, and ultimately improve their intimate relationship:Speak Kindly During Conflict: Maintain a smooth tone and avoid yelling or lashing out when frustrated to ensure your spouse feels safe opening up.Listen Without Immediate Defense: Resist the urge to interrupt, assign blame, or jump straight to self-defense when your partner shares their feelings.Speak Well of Your Spouse Publicly: Protect your partner's dignity by avoiding criticism, snarky comments, or making them the punchline of a joke in front of others.Keep Your Promises: Build trust by following through on both major commitments and everyday requests.Respect Their Time and Energy: Share the mental load and household responsibilities as equal partners rather than letting one person burn out.Include Them in Important Decisions: Approach life and marriage as a unified team rather than making key choices independently.Respect Personal Boundaries: Honor your spouse's need for personal space, self-care, or time away without taking it personally.Protect Their Dignity in Arguments: Avoid name-calling, threats, or bringing up past mistakes that have already been healed and forgiven.Show Affection and Appreciation: Consistently offer non-sexual physical touch, warm greetings, and verbal appreciation to make your spouse feel valued.Choose Your Spouse Publicly and Privately: Maintain complete loyalty and integrity in your actions, attention, and online habits, ensuring your partner feels prioritized above all else.By actively treating marriage as something deeply valuable, prioritizing each other's emotional and physical needs, and putting in daily work, couples can eliminate resentment and cultivate a thriving, intimate relationship.

Should Your Spouse Really Come First? It's one of the most controversial messages we share, and every time we talk about it, the comments explode.Should your spouse come before your children? From emotional, physical, sexual, and spiritual intimacy to recreational, intellectual, and more, they discuss how each type plays a vital role in creating a strong, connected marriage. They share real life examples of couples who struggle because one area of intimacy is missing, like when spouses don't share the same spiritual beliefs, or when they never spend time enjoying hobbies and adventures together. Many couples tell us, and we've seen it in our own marriage too, that they keep running into the same arguments over and over again. Even after trying counseling, things might improve for a short time… but before long, they slip right back into the same patterns. So what actually creates lasting change in a relationship? In this episode of The Ultimate Intimacy Podcast with Nick and Amy, we talk with Austin, a therapist who often works with couples after they've already seen two or three other counselors and are feeling discouraged that nothing has worked. Instead of repeating the same approaches, Austin takes a different path, one that helps couples break out of stuck cycles and finally start moving forward. He shares what he does differently in therapy and why those shifts lead to real, lasting progress for the couples he works with.

But remember, if you want to get better at something, or even become an expert at it, you have to talk about it all the time!Consider this, if something causes an argument in your marriage, that means it is a problem. And if you have a problem, wouldn't that make it even more important to talk about so it doesn't become a bigger problem, or you can eliminate the problem in your relationship? Most couples just don't know where to begin or how to approach it the right way. Trust us, we were one of these couples for the first 15 years of our marriage. If you want to build greater intimacy, understanding, and connection in your relationship, you won't want to miss this important conversation.

Obligatory sex is when one spouse engages in sexual activity not because they feel desire, but because they feel pressured, obligated, or afraid of disappointing their spouse. We hear this all the time where the lower desire spouse just has sex out of obligation and both couples are unhappy. When this happens regularly, this dynamic erodes trust, creates resentment, and negatively impacts emotional and physical intimacy for both spouses. Many couples fall into this pattern unknowingly. It may start with good intentions: one spouse wants to please the other, avoid conflict, or keep peace in the marriage. But what begins as a gesture of love can quickly transform into a ritual devoid of passion or connection. When this is happening in a marriage, BOTH husbands and wives are negatively impacted in different ways. In this episode of the Ultimate Intimacy Podcast we talk about the negative impacts of this on both spouses and share what couples that are experiencing this can do. And YES, we share our personal experience with this as well :)

In this episode of the Ultimate Intimacy Podcast, Nick and Amy explore the 10 things wives wish their husbands truly understood. Drawing from conversations with thousands of women, personal experiences, and years of helping couples strengthen their marriages, they discuss the emotional, relational, and practical needs that often go unspoken. From the importance of emotional connection and feeling appreciated to communication, affection, partnership, and intimacy, this episode offers husbands valuable insights into what many wives desire most in a healthy, thriving marriage. Nick and Amy also share simple, actionable ways husbands can better love, support, and connect with their wives, helping build greater trust, closeness, and lasting intimacy.Whether you've been married for a few years or several decades, this conversation will help couples better understand one another, improve communication, and create a stronger, more fulfilling relationship. If you've ever wondered what your wife may be thinking but hasn't quite found the words to say, this episode is a great place to start.

If you're a regular listener of the Ultimate Intimacy Podcast, you've probably heard Austin talk about the importance of becoming "one" in marriage. But what does that really mean, and why is it so important for creating a thriving relationship? In this episode, Austin dives deep into the concept of unity in marriage and explains why so many couples struggle to feel connected despite living under the same roof. In today's world, it's easy for spouses to become independent roommates—pursuing separate interests, managing their own lives, making individual decisions, and gradually drifting apart without even realizing it.While individuality is important, a strong marriage requires more than simply coexisting. It requires intentionally building a life together. Becoming "one" doesn't mean losing your identity; it means aligning your goals, priorities, decisions, and hearts so that you are moving in the same direction as a team.Austin shares practical insights on how couples can create greater unity, strengthen emotional and physical intimacy, improve communication, and avoid the subtle habits that create division within a marriage. He discusses what it looks like to truly partner with your spouse, make decisions together, support each other's dreams, and build a relationship where both partners feel connected, valued, and understood.

Has sexual intimacy become viewed as "optional" in your marriage? If your spouse came to you before you got married and said "Just so you know, when we are married, I am never going to be sexual intimate with you" would you have still got married? Of course not, because BOTH men and women know that sexual intimacy is vital to a happy and healthy marriage. So why do some many people (low desire spouses) treat sex as "optional" after they get married? So many good husbands reach out to us sharing a similar frustration: they constantly hear that emotional intimacy comes first, so they work hard to meet their spouse's emotional needs. They help around the house, become more intentional with communication, plan date nights, show affection, attend counseling, read books, listen to podcasts, and genuinely try to become a better husband. Yet despite all their efforts, little or nothing changes when it comes to the sexual connection in their marriage. Over time, many of these husbands begin to feel discouraged, rejected, and confused. They wonder why they are putting so much effort into the relationship while their desire for greater sexual intimacy seems to remain unmet. Some feel as though sexual intimacy has become "optional" in marriage and that they have slowly been transformed from a husband into an errand-running roommate who has been placed into the "friend zone."Recently, we received a powerful email from a listener who expressed these exact feelings after spending years investing time, energy, and money into improving his marriage. His message resonated because it reflects the reality and frustration that many spouses experience but often don't know how to talk about. In this week's episode of the Ultimate Intimacy Podcast, we read portions of his email and dive into this difficult but important conversation. Why do so many husbands feel like they are doing everything they've been told to do, yet still feel disconnected sexually? Has the message of emotional intimacy been misunderstood? Is emotional connection always the missing piece, or are there times when other issues need to be addressed? What responsibility does each spouse have in creating a thriving intimate relationship?Join us as we discuss these questions, share our thoughts on the listener's concerns, and talk about how couples can move beyond frustration, resentment, and unmet expectations to create a marriage where both emotional and sexual intimacy are valued, prioritized, and nurtured.

In this episode of the Ultimate Intimacy Podcast, Nick and Austin have an honest and vulnerable conversation about the real reasons many men turn to porn and the devastating impact it can have on emotional connection, trust, and intimacy in marriage. They discuss the deeper struggles often happening beneath the surface, including loneliness, stress, rejection, shame, unmet emotional needs, unhealthy coping habits, and the lack of true connection many couples silently experience. This episode is not about blame or condemnation. Instead, it's about understanding the “why” behind the behavior, opening up healthy communication, and creating a path toward healing together. Nick and Austin share practical insights for both husbands and wives on how to navigate the hurt, rebuild trust, strengthen emotional safety, and reconnect intimately in a healthier way. This episode will help you better understand the challenges many couples face and offer hope that healing, trust, and deeper intimacy are possible.

In life, we become what we consistently consume. The content we take in whether from social media, movies, music, or TV gradually shapes the way we think, feel, and interpret the world around us.For example, if someone regularly scrolls through social media filled with posts promoting distrust in relationships or extreme views about the opposite sex, it can slowly influence how we perceive our own spouse even our their real-life relationship is healthy and strong. In the same way, if a person repeatedly consumes content that objectifies others, it can distort how they view relationships and intimacy, potentially impacting how they treat their spouse. The bottom line is simple: what we consume influences who we become or how we view our spouse and marriage. That's why it's important to be intentional about the media we allow into our minds. This idea is also supported by research. A study published in the Journal of Social and Clinical Psychology found that individuals who spend more than 30 minutes a day on social media report higher levels of depression and anxiety. In this episode, Nick and Amy discuss the importance of being mindful about what we consume, and how choosing healthier, more positive influences can lead to a more fulfilling life and stronger relationships, whether in marriage or in preparation for one.

One of the biggest perks of having a large audience is that we hear everything—and we mean everything. Every day, we get flooded with messages from couples sharing what's really going on behind closed doors. And one theme shows up again and again:Wives expressing why they're not interested in sex… and husbands feeling confused, rejected, and frustrated by the lack of intimacy in their marriage. So in this powerful episode, Nick and Amy sit down with special guest Austin, a certified sex therapist, to unpack one of the most requested topics we've ever received:The 7 real reasons wives often lose interest in sex within marriage. This conversation is honest, eye-opening, and packed with insight that could change the way you see intimacy in your relationship. If you're in a marriage where sexual connection feels strained, distant, or just not where you want it to be—or if you're a wife wondering why your desire has faded—this episode is for you.

In this powerful episode, Nick and Amy dive into a bold and insightful quote they read."By God's good design, a man's sex drive is strong. If it is harnessed and intensified within marriage, it can be an incredible force fastening a man's affections and passions to his wife. I believe that it is right and godly to claim your husband's sexual desire as a potent source of influence in your marriage. This power was intended for you and for no one else. Unfortunately, if you don't claim it, someone or something else will."Nick and Amy unpack the deep truth behind these words, not only about sexual desire but also about the emotional intimacy in marriage as well. They explore how neglecting to intentionally claim your spouse's affection, emotionally and physically, leaves your marriage vulnerable to distractions, temptations, or outside influences. If you want to strengthen your marriage and guard the precious bond between you and your spouse, this episode is a must-listen.Tune in now and discover how to claim what's yours to protect, cherish, and celebrate your spouse like never before. If you haven't already, go check out the Ultimate Intimacy App in the app stores, or at ultimateintimacy.com to find "Ultimate Intimacy" in your marriage. In this episode, Nick and Amy dive into a simple but powerful question: are couples wishing more for a better marriage instead of actually doing the things that build one? After surveying married couples, the answers revealed something surprisingly consistent about what people feel is missing in their relationships.Husbands and wives shared a desire for more emotional connection, quality time, appreciation, less screen distraction, and feeling more prioritized. These aren't complicated needs—they're the everyday things that often get lost in the busyness of work, kids, and life responsibilities. What stood out most is that many of these desires aren't out of reach. They don't require a different spouse or a different season of life. They come down to small, intentional choices—how we communicate, how we show up, and what we prioritize when life gets full.In today's conversation, Nick and Amy go through real survey responses and talk about what they actually look like in marriage. If you've ever found yourself wishing things felt different, this episode is meant to help you shift from wishing to doing in your own relationship. If you haven't already, go check out the Ultimate Intimacy App in the app stores, or at ultimateintimacy.com to find "Ultimate Intimacy" in your marriage. In superhero movies, every hero has something unique that makes them powerful, but they do not discover their strength alone and they do not use it randomly. They learn what their power is, how it works, and how it impacts the people they are trying to protect. Marriage is very similar. Each spouse has different emotional needs, different ways they feel loved, and different “super powers” they bring into the relationship.I shared how for many husbands, when a wife initiates affection or makes him feel desired, it is like his entire world shifts. It strengthens his confidence, connection, and emotional bond. For wives, when a husband steps in and says “I've got it” without her having to carry everything alone, it feels like emotional relief, safety, and love. It is like someone stepping in to carry the weight of her “battle,” even for a moment. These small actions often speak louder than words ever could.Think of it like superheroes working together on a team. One hero might have strength, another might have speed, another might have the ability to protect or heal. If they all try to operate the same way, the team falls apart. But when they understand each other's strengths and work together intentionally, they become unstoppable. Marriage works the same way. When spouses learn each other's emotional “powers” and love languages, and then intentionally use them, the relationship becomes stronger, safer, and more connected. This is where love as an action really comes in. Just like superheroes do not just say they will save people, they actually show up and act, love in marriage has to be lived out in real ways. It is expressed through words, service, affection, support, and emotional presence that is tailored to what your spouse actually needs. In this episode, we talk about both sides of this, how masculinity and femininity play into these “super powers,” and how understanding your spouse's emotional needs and love language can completely transform your connection. When couples stop guessing and start intentionally loving each other in the way their spouse actually receives love, marriage stops feeling like a struggle and starts feeling like a team working in sync.If you haven't already, go check out the Ultimate Intimacy App in the app stores, or at ultimateintimacy.com to find "Ultimate Intimacy" in your marriage. In this episode of the Ultimate Intimacy Podcast, Nick and Amy dive into a topic that many couples really struggle with in their marriage, but don't know how to handle... the mental load in marriage. Often invisible and rarely discussed openly, the mental load includes the planning, remembering, organizing, and emotional managing that keeps a household and relationship running smoothly. While it can affect both spouses differently, it is frequently carried disproportionately by one spouse, leading to stress, resentment, and disconnection in the marriage. In this episode, Nick and Amy talk about what the mental load is and what it looks like, why men and women are different in how they handle the mental load, and most importantly, how to communicate about it.If you struggle with holding resentment from the mental load, or you want to keep it from infiltrating your marriage then this podcast episode is for you!If you haven't already, go check out the Ultimate Intimacy App in the app stores, or at ultimateintimacy.com to find "Ultimate Intimacy" in your marriage. In this episode of The Ultimate Intimacy Podcast, Nick and Amy sit down with Austin Ellis, a renowned sex therapist who has helped thousands of couples, to tackle a topic many avoid: the sexless marriage. Many listeners reach out about this issue, and the solution isn't just about “having sex again.” Together, they explore why intimacy fades, the common pitfalls that lead to sexual disconnect, and practical strategies couples can use to reignite passion and connection. If you've ever wondered how to bring desire back into your relationship, this conversation is a must-listen.

Many couples ask us this question: Why doesn't my marriage feel like it did in the beginning? The truth is, just like each year, our marriage has different seasons where intimacy can feel different. Passion can ebb. Connection sometimes requires effort. Somewhere along the way, we absorb the myth that a healthy marriage should always feel like spring, blossoming romance, effortless sex, deep conversation, constant emotional closeness. But real marriage isn't a single season. Like nature, your relationship moves through cycles. Emotional intimacy shifts, sexual desire fluctuates, and spiritual connection deepens, or feels quite distant at times. These changes aren't signs of failure, they're just natural signs of life. In this episode, we explore the infatuation stage, and the four seasons of marriage and intimacy and how to not only survive each season, but thrive. Understand the season you're in, stop panicking, and learn how to nurture your marriage through every stage.

So many couples see therapy as a last ditch effort and something you turn to when everything is already broken. But think about it… we invest in coaches to improve our golf game, mechanics to keep our cars running smoothly so why do we hesitate to invest in something as important as our relationship? And let's be real... none of us were ever taught "how" to be married. In this episode of the Ultimate Intimacy Podcast, Nick sits down with Austin to completely reframe what marriage therapy really is and what it isn't. They talk about what actually happens in a session, and explain how therapy can give couples practical, powerful tools to strengthen connection before things spiral.Plus, they tackle one of the biggest real life challenges what do you do when you're ready for help but your spouse isn't?If you've ever wondered whether therapy could help your relationship or how to even start this conversation, this episode is for you.

One of the most common messages we hear from our audience is something like this: “I want a better intimate life… but my spouse wont talk about it and I don't know what to do.”For some, the conversation feels too risky, what if it leads to conflict or rejection? For others, they've tried to open up, only to be met with silence or resistance and be told by their spouse that they don't want to talk about it. It's frustrating, confusing, and often deeply lonely. The truth is, so many couples are quietly facing this same struggle, and it genuinely breaks our hearts every time we hear it.In this episode of the Ultimate Intimacy Podcast, we share ideas of what you can do when it feels like nothing else has worked. If you've felt stuck, unheard, or unsure where to turn next, this conversation is for you.

What if the secret to deeper, more passionate intimacy in your marriage isn't just about technique, but the spiritual connection in your marriage? In this episode of the Ultimate Intimacy Podcast, Nick and Amy welcome back Austin Ellis, LMFT, to explore how connecting spiritually with your spouse can completely transform your sexual relationship. When spirituality and sexuality come together, intimacy becomes more meaningful, more connected, and more fulfilling than ever.If you're ready to elevate your marriage, deepen your connection, and experience intimacy on a whole new level, this is the episode you can't miss.

What if saying no to sex could actually bring you closer together? In this episode of the Ultimate Intimacy Podcast, Nick and Amy challenge a common belief about marriage and reveal why the ability to say no without guilt, fear, or tension is actually a sign of a strong, healthy relationship. When both spouses feel safe and respected in those moments, it creates space for deeper trust, connection, and true intimacy. This isn't about shutting your spouse down or avoiding connection, it's about understanding the how behind a “no.” Because for many couples, it's not rejection itself that causes pain…it's the way it's communicated and received. If sexual rejection has ever caused hurt or frustration in your relationship, this episode will completely shift your perspective.Tune in as you won't want to miss this one.
