Connie's motivational quote for today is by – Rachel Naomi Remen   “Healing may not be so much about getting better as about letting go of everything that isn't you – all of the expectations, all of the beliefs – and becoming who you are.” Reflecting on this week's quote, I am amazed at how many limiting beliefs I have and how many live and thrive in our subconscious mind. Picture an iceberg.  We can equate the 5% sticking out of the water to our conscious mind and 95% underwater to our subconscious.  So, we must understand and tap into our subconscious to create the long-term, thriving life many crave. So, how do we do that exactly?  Great question!    YouTube: https://youtu.be/H9WjTBVoulo   About Amanda Beth Johnson:  Amanda is dedicated to guiding others on their journey toward self-discovery and wellness. Her transformation inspired her to use her expertise in ThetaHealing, an intuitive technique that helps individuals identify and release negative mindsets.     As an intuitive healer, Amanda has earned five certifications in ThetaHealing and is the founder of Iowa Salt Pod, southeast Iowa's first integrative wellness flotation spa. Proud 2023 recipient of the Geo Ropert Award of Excellence. Connie's motivational quote for today is by – James Belasco and Ralph Stayer, “Change is hard because people overestimate the value of what they have and underestimate the value of what they may gain by giving that up. Each week, I pause to reflect on my life and business and all the changes that needed to happen through the years to sustain and grow my business.  Here is the secret I've learned: all progress requires change. I have also learned that we can't do it alone!  So, if you ever feel stuck, uncertain, or frustrated with problems, poor performance, or challenging opportunities, trust that you can create a clear path forward, accelerate your progress, achieve your goals, and help others do the same.    I'm excited to share this week's guest, Tim Rhodes, who is returning for the second time.   Straight out of his new book, Changing Lanes for Business, Tim and I discuss his simple, proven, 4-step approach to confidently leading successful change - for the rest of your career.   YouTube: https://youtu.be/PNwo9DQQPMk   About Tim Rhode:  Tim is a successful business consultant, author, speaker, and leadership coach with over 35 years of entrepreneurial experience.    He has launched and led multiple seven and 8-figure high-service-level businesses, helping thousands of customers and hundreds of team members to transform their lives, personally and professionally, with positive change… Coaching leaders and teams in dozens of industries to overcome challenges and get from where they are now - to where they want to be.   How to Get In Touch with Tim Rhode:  Email: Tim@ChangingLanesApproach.com Website:   https://ChangingLanesApproach.com Free Gift: https://bit.ly/Resistance-to-Change-Guide Amazon Book Link:  https://amzn.to/46dZsLZ Other Episode with Tim:  https://podcasts.apple.com/us/podcast/enlightenment-of-change/id1313299091?i=1000629047418   Stalk me online! I knew I had to write them down because otherwise I would risk forgetting them, or worse, I might later tell myself I imagined what was happening. Thirteen years later, I'm still experiencing my son communicating with me in the most creative and mind-bending ways. And others who have left our time have also nudged me and others from across the veil. Defying what we've all been taught about the finality of death and what we consider to be the very black-and-white laws of science, I have discovered that our loved ones can and do reach out to us to let us know they're alive and well and to make sure we know they still care about us.Meet author Mary Connaughty-Sullivan and learn more about her incredible story.

In 2011, A young indigenous man by the name of Zak Grieve was sentenced to life in prison for a murder he didn't commit. The murder of Ray Niceforo was commissioned by his former partner Bronwyn Malyschko, and carried out by her son Chris Malyschko and accomplice Darren Halfpenny.Grieve was originally supposed to be an accomplice to the murder too, but changed his mind on the night.Despite this, due to Northern Territory's mandatory minimum sentencing laws, Grieve was sentenced to life in prison with a non-parole period of 20 years (eventually reduced to 12 years following a mercy plea).Journalist Dan Box has been reporting on crime for decades and was unexpectedly drawn into this story and family on a very personal level. He joins us to tell us about his new book "The Man Who Wasn't There" and the extraordinary man who emerged in Zak Grieve.Dan Box's "The Man Who Wasn't There" is available to purchase now.For Support: Lifeline  on 13 11 1413 YARN on 13 92 76 (24/7 crisis support phone line for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples)1800RESPECT: 1800 737 732CREDITS:Host: Meshel Laurie. As we near the end of the ten-year birthday celebrations of the Schroder Value Team we welcome two guests who were with us at the beginning of those ten years. Jamie Lowry and Ian Kelly are former members of the Value Team at Schroders, who departed to work for Prem Watsa, known as the Canadian Warren Buffett, managing the European investment book of Fairfax Financial. They left a lasting legacy with the Value Team with one of Ian's TVP pieces, Hot Iron Trial by Ordeal: A Thirteenth Century Lesson for Investors, remaining one of our most read articles for many years after his departure. Kevin Murphy is the host for this episode, which covers: the journey from Schroders' Value Team to Fairfax Financial; the difference between working for a long only fund and investing as part of a large insurance organisation; underperformance as part of a value team within an insurance company during the very tough years of 2019 and 2020; the beliefs they formed during their time with the Value Team and how these have been tested working at Fairfax Financial; and finally, their thoughts on private versus public investments. Connie's motivational quote for today is by – Joshua Marine, "Challenges are what make life interesting. Overcoming them is what makes life meaningful." I read an article or got an email about mindset, motivation, and career or business growth.  For me, this quote hit the nail on the head. Challenges make us stronger and more resilient and keep life interesting and, sometimes, even frustrating.  Overcoming these challenges does make life meaningful and exhilarating.    Think of a new skill or new idea you've had recently.  Doesn't your blood get pumping with excitement?  Change is everywhere, and I believe how we show up during change is where the magic and adventure lie for all of us.   YouTube: https://youtu.be/K0OCPPm-ZZk   About Beverly Jones:  Beverly is an executive coach who helps leaders promote productivity and engagement and helps professionals thrive in their careers.  Bev writes and speaks about personal growth, teamwork, and well-being issues. First when she was 12, and again when she was 14.She was abducted twice because after the first time, Jan's parents signed affidavits stating they'd given Berchtold consent to take Jan away with him, which was a lie.Although we may think we have come a long way from the culture that played a part in this horrifying story, when it comes to childhood sexual assault, the statistics haven't changed. Some audio from this episode has been taken from "A Friend of the Family", a new True Crime series coming exclusively to 7plus on October 25, 2023.If you have been affected by anything discussed in this episode you can contact: Lifeline on 13 11 14 13 YARN on 13 92 76 (24/7 crisis support phone line for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people)CREDITS:Hosted and created by Meshel LaurieExecutive Producer: Matthew TankardGET IN TOUCH:Follow the show on Instagram @australiantruecrimepodcast and Facebook https://www.facebook.com/AustralianTrueCrimePod/Email the show at team@smartfella.com.auSupport this show http://supporter.acast.com/australiantruecrime.
