And, to work hard and always be nice to people. Straight Up Impact who have created a groundbreaking short-film series, Meaning in Madness, which explores the systemic issues contributing to record-high levels of anxiety and depression among teens and young adults. In the first of a four-part documentary series, the filmmakers shine a light on the shortcomings of the industrialized educational system, highlighting the story of Mackenzie, a 17-year-old high school student who feels like she has been reduced to a number and a test score. While Mackenzie's story is personal, it is by no means unique. Around the country, students are struggling to find their purpose in a system bent on conformity—and the problem has only gotten worse since COVID-19. For nearly a year, millions of children have been locked out their classrooms, without access to high-quality education. Meanwhile, parents have tried to step in and fill a void that, until now, has put the onus of education squarely on schools. Until 125 years ago, learning took place in the world, not solely in the classroom. That changed with the industrial revolution. With or without a global pandemic, the currency of the modern world is innovative, creative thinking—not rote memorization—and most public-school systems simply aren't equipped to provide this type of human-centered learning. We need to drastically rethink our societal approach to education. A film by Kata Weber and Kornel Mundruczo". Szóba jött természetesen Shia LaBeouf is (aki nélkül nem jöhetett volna létre a Pieces, és aki bántalmazási botránya miatt most rontja a film esélyeit), dumáltunk Hollywood kegyetlen szabályairól, Kata amerikai projektjeiről, a külföldi munkák során épülő új identitásáról, a Berlinbe költözésükről, az SZFE-ről, a sértettségről és a bukásról, az ízlések összehangolásáról, Scorsese meglepő hozzállásáról, illetve arról, hogy miért hátrány színészként, ha az embernek van esze.

White God opens on an eerie, apocalyptic scene. The streets of Budapest are empty, and a lone girl bikes through the city. Suddenly, dogs. In perhaps the only film to feature 250 real (not CGI) dogs on screen at once, director Kornel Mundruczo weaves together a coming of age story about the strained relationship between a girl and her father with a dark version of Homeward Bound, featuring a live action dog performance as moving as it is realistic. White God might not be everyone’s bowl of dog chow, but we were captured by its surreal ending and its use of dogs vs. humans as a heavy handed allegory for human rights and labor issues. Award winning Director and Co-writter of the Award Winning Movie, White God, Kornel Mundruczo join's us this week. Winner of the Prize Un Certain Regard Award at this year’s Cannes Festival, Kornel Mundruczo’s newest film is a story of the indignities visited upon animals by their supposed “human superiors,” but it’s also an brutal, beautiful metaphor for the political and cultural tensions sweeping contemporary Europe. When young Lili is forced to give up her beloved dog Hagen, because it's mixed-breed heritage is deemed 'unfit' by The State, she and the dog begin a dangerous journey back towards each other. At the same time, all the unwanted, unloved and so-called 'unfit' dogs rise up under a new leader, Hagen, the one-time housepet who has learned all too well from his 'Masters' in his journey through the streets and animal control centers how to bite the hands that beats him … “FIERCE AND BEAUTIFUL. Extraordinarily choreographed.” – Manohla Dargis, The New York Times "REMARKABLE AND RIVETING. This surprising movie is perhaps the most memorable of all the films I saw at this year's Cannes Film Festival. It's haunting, and quite extraordinary." - Pete Hammond, Deadline Hollywood "Emotionally rousing and technically masterful." – Guy Lodge, Variety “A triumphantly idiosyncratic film with smarts and visceral impact in equal measure.” – Jessica Kiang, The Playlist on Indiewire “A potent metaphor for everything from immigration to the abuse of power, with it’s striking finale serving as stark warning about our own arrogant belief that we’ll always be at the top of the food chain.” – Alistair Harnkess, The Scotsman
