Mark Winterbottom is one of Australia's most successful Supercars drivers, but his success didn't come easy. Growing up with a mother battling cancer and struggling to make ends meet, a raffle ticket changed the course of his career. Winning a mini-bike as a kid fuelled his passion for motorsport, which saw him move into a successful karting career and formula racing. His path to glory at Mount Panorama wasn't quick or easy, but for the man affectionately known as 'Frosty', his grit and determination finally saw him take out the Bathurst 1000 in 2013. In this episode, Mark details the struggles he faced growing up, how he turned trauma and weakness into fuel for success, and how he never took no for an answer. Frosty by Mark Winterbottom The incredible true story of the boy from Doonside who became a Bathurst king. Mark Winterbottom's story is unlike any other in motorsport. It's not about privilege or million-dollar sponsors - it's the tale of a working-class kid with a dream so big it defied the odds. Frosty's story is a motorsport fairy tale that is also proof that with heart, hustle and an unyielding will to succeed, you can achieve greatness. Mark went on to win 10 Australian national kart titles and 25 state championships before transitioning into Formula Ford in 2001. His meteoric rise continued in 2003 when he clinched the Konica V8 Supercar Series Championship and was honoured with the Mike Kable Young Gun Award. Mark would also become one of Ford's most famous drivers when he broke through to beat Craig Lowndes and Jamie Whincup by winning the 2015 Supercars Championship in his flying Falcon. Frosty is more than a story of fast cars, chequered flags and brushes with some of motorsport's greats, including Lewis Hamilton and Peter Brock. It's about resilience, family and overcoming life's biggest challenges. In this inspiring memoir, Mark shares the raw truth of his hardest battles: the irreparable fallout with his father, supporting his mother through cancer, and pushing forward when most would have given up. From the streets of western Sydney to the summit of Mount Panorama, Mark Winterbottom's story is a powerful reminder that impossible dreams can be chased - and won. Reacher: The Stories Behind The Stories by Lee Child From global bestseller and creator of Jack Reacher, comes Lee Child's first-ever autobiographical collection. From urgently scribbling out his debut Killing Floor in pencil (the stub of which he still owns), to taking a step back with Blue Moon, and everything in between, here are 24 fascinating personal reflections on his life and work, crafted across decades. Whether it is through Lee's moving account of meeting a fan years after her mother brought her to a book signing, to facing his first computer and the coming of the internet, to writing about New York just before – and just after – 9/11, to later seeing his novels adapted for the big screen . . . each riveting piece deftly evokes where he was, psychologically and physically, when he wrote each novel. Lee has clearly felt unwavering gratitude for his readers since 1997. And these honest, witty and wise reflections were originally designed for fans of Reacher who may be interested in a ‘behind-the-scenes' – or, in Lee's words: ‘why the books turned out the way they did'. But this collection is also so much more. It is the story of a man who once put pencil to paper in an attempt to turn his luck around . . . and who made every word count. The Rush Hour Melbourne Catch Up - 105.1 Triple M Melbourne - James Brayshaw and Billy Brownless
Sometimes Billy says things and we don't even realise he's stuffed up, but he kicks off the show with the All Sports Report - as the Suns and Bombers make changes ahead of the final game of the 2025 season. Triple M Footy's Kate McCarthy calls in to discuss Mitch Brown becoming the first openly bisexual AFL player - what it means for the queer community, and why the AFLW is light years ahead of the AFL in this space. Jack and Bryce battle it out in a very chaotic Hump Day Quiz, and Supercars legend Mark Winterbottom is in studio to talk about his new book and the Supercars Grand Final happening in Adelaide later this year. Billy has a new showbiz segment, JB had a nightmare day at the shops, and Fremantle's Patrick Voss calls in as he gears up for his first finals series. Finally, Billy has a fruity joke about his son's eyelids... or lack thereof.See omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.

Motorsport fans are getting a look inside the career of one of the more recognisable names in Supercars. After 21 years, last year saw Mark Winterbottom retire from full time driving. His career included a championship win in 2015 in his infamous Ford at the height of the Ford v Holden rivalry, a Bathurst win, and 39 wins overall. Although he may have retired from full time driving, Winterbottom has signed on to be a mentor and co-driver for Tickford Driving – partnering with Cam Waters. He's also taken the time to write a memoir, ‘Frosty - The incredible true story of the boy from Blacktown who became a Bathurst king'. Winterbottom comes from a working class background and his introduction to the world of motorsport came at a young age. “I sort of started motorsport at eight years old,” he told Mike Hosking. “And at 44 now, I love it more than I ever have.” “I've always thought of it as a privilege to race cars, but when you have that taken away from you, or your time stops, I think you appreciate it even more.” LISTEN ABOVE See omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.

In this edition of The Auto Action RevLimiter, we dig into Anton De Pasquale's signing with Team 18, as revealed on the Auto Action website on Tuesday. In the game of falling dominoes, Anton's move was triggered by the (rumoured) signing of Brodie Kostecki to his seat at Dick Johnson Racing. The last domino to fall belonged to Mark Winterbottom, and we're not sure where we will see the former champ next year… although we doubt it will be Team 18. There is a slot left at PremiAir – and we let you know what we reckon there, too. Plus, we've got all the latest in F1 from the Dutch Grand Prix, including Lando Norris's flogging of Max Verstappen. Both the Driver and Constructor Championships are alive. And Jack Doohan's got an F1 drive with Alpine next year… we talk about that, too. We've also got NASCAR news, including SVG's elevation to the Cup Series with Trackhouse. And Will Power's closing in on another IndyCar Championship. We look at Sports Sedans from Sandown and GT from Phillip Island, too… This is The Auto Action RevLimiter. And stay up to date with all the news on the Auto Action Website
