Shot putter Tom Walsh feels he's heading in the right direction following his Diamond League triumph in Rome. The world indoor champion won with his first throw of the competition, reaching a season-best 21.89 metres. Walsh says it's not often he wins with his initial heave. He told Jason Pine he had a mixed bag of throws, but he wanted to have a crack at throwing a long way, and that's exactly what he managed to do. “Good step in the right direction.” LISTEN ABOVE See omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.

Adam Christman, DVM, MBA talks with Dr. Tom Walsh, DVM, CCRP, MBA about some difficult cases with injured and/or aging pets, how he is able to handle them, and what made him start his own mobile rehabilitation and physical therapy clinic. About Dr. Tom Walsh: Dr. Tom Walsh's passion for animals resulted in an abrupt turn in his life. After a successful career in telecommunications, he gave that up to become a veterinarian. And he has never looked back. After working years as a vet, he found his niche--small animal rehab. Dr Walsh established PrimePet Rehab, a mobile small animal rehabilitation and physical therapy service that treats animals at a number of veterinary clinics. Therapeutic laser is integral to his practice and is used daily to provide inflammation and pain reduction and to speed healing times. Dr. Walsh started using laser for post-op, IVDD recovery and trauma. He saw recovery for back surgery reduced from 4-6 weeks to less than half the time. Improvement in recovery time made a big difference for owners going through a traumatic event with their pets and helped the animals relax as well. After seeing the results he got from his early work with laser, Dr. Walsh expanded the scope of conditions he treats and often uses it in combination with other treatment modalities with great results.

Tom Walsh has been one of the best shot-putters in the world for the last decade so it was an honour to get him on What a Lad for this one.Plenty of people have suggested over the years to get him on and I can see why, he isn't just good at what he does but he's a massive lad with an incredible mindset which has seen him win Gold Medals at the World Champs (outdoor and indoor) and the Commonwealth games while twice picking up a Bronze at the OlympicsSome parts that stood out for me were..How he is sometimes awkwardly mistaken for the great Joe Moody.Growing up with Dyslexia and the challenges that came with that. His upbringing in all sports, a rugby no8, cricket wizard and shot put beast. How he ended up in shot-put and the unique lifestyle of a shot-putter Why he kept throwing at this years Olympics even with a torn abductor As well as plenty of great advice for everyone! As you'll hear Tom Walsh is a very likeable character, who has had an incredible career to date and the best thing is that it is not over yet. Hearing the mindset that Tom has, I've got no doubt there's more success to come for this great New Zealanders. If you enjoy this episode please give it a share! This episode was brought to you by Nord VPN!EXCLUSIVE NordVPN Deal ➼ https://nordvpn.com/whatalad Try it risk-free now with a 30-day money-back guarantee Hosted on Acast.
