So it's farewell to Zandvoort for the time being then. The Dutch Grand Prix was a welcome return to the F1 calendar in 2021, a tyear later then planned, but we don't talk about that! It's chucked up a few interesting races over the last few years and this year's wasn't an exception to that either. This week (it's getting a bit regular again isn't it!) on the pod we take a look at a race that turned out to be interesting in ways that we hadn't expected. Nobody thought that Max would be done before the end of the 1st lap, Oscar Piastri wasn't expecting to be called into the pits every few minutes on a strategy that even Ferrari in their prime would call "a bit daft" and Hulk made possibly the best save of his career in avoiding his spinning team-mate, Gabriel PirouettoThere's a load of other F1 related nonsense as we get back into talking rubbish in public again on a weekly basis and don't forget to see how you did in the Prediction League and Official F1 Fantasy League too.And if you want to join in with the chat during the races (along with testing, practice and qualifying) head over to our Discord where there's always a great crowd of people to watch along with. And on the socials we've got our Facebook, Instagram, BlueSky & Twitter (or is it X) and Paul's attempts at Sim Racing on our Twitch channel. And if you want to support us you can donate to our Patreon as well from as little as £/$/€ 1 per monthEnjoy

Lando Norris can win the drivers title: real or overreaction?Max Verstappen has signed up for four more years of pain: real, not overreaction.
The last Dutch GP went off with a bang.Climb the ladder with me on Patreon: https://patreon.com/lawvsThe 2026 Dutch Grand Prix gave us Max Verstappen in the wall, McLaren and Norris winning back-to-back races, yet more Ferrari shenanigans regarding team orders and pit calls...as well as some seriously dodgy yellow-flag penalties. Tom Clarkson is in the Zandvoort paddock with F1 correspondent Lawrence Barretto and F1TV expert Alex Brundle for reaction to a chaotic Dutch Grand Prix. Back-to-back wins for Lando Norris means he's now 83 points behind championship leader Kimi Antonelli with 11 races to go, so is the McLaren driver back in the title fight? Despite being behind him for most of the weekend, Kimi Antonelli got the better of his Mercedes teammate George Russell on race day. Why didn't George have the pace when it really mattered? Were Mercedes right to issue team orders to get George out of Kimi's way in the closing stages? On the topic of team orders, Lewis Hamilton was very frustrated that Ferrari didn't ask Charles Leclerc to let him past. Did that cost Hamilton a podium? And what does his fiery team radio and post-race reaction tell us about the seven-time World Champion's mindset? Plus, the guys discuss home race heartbreak for Max Verstappen after he crashed out on lap one, the impact Fernando Alonso's second points finish of the season will have on his future with Aston Martin, and a dramatic end to the weekend for Williams as Carlos Sainz crashed into teammate Alex Albon.Listen to more Official F1 PodcastsIn-depth interviews on F1 Beyond The Grid - Sergio Perez coming soon!Expert answers to your questions on F1 ExplainsThis episode is sponsored by:HexcladFind your forever cookware @hexclad and get 10% off at hexclad.co.uk/NATION! Formula 1 is back and its popularity among Kiwis is continuing to grow. After a mini break, the final Dutch Grand Prix is kicking off this weekend at Zandvoort, with Liam Lawson back in the seat for Red Bulls. But a little later in the year, F1 is coming to New Zealand's shores – in a sense. Former F1 World Champion Damon Hill and long-time commentator and host of the official F1 podcast Tom Clarkson are visiting Australia and New Zealand for a speaking tour. Clarkson has presented F1: Beyond The Grid since its inception in 2018 —437 episodes— and has personally reported or commentated on over 500 Grands Prix. He joined Mike Hosking to discuss the current season of Formula 1 and touch on what you can expect from the live show. LISTEN ABOVE See omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.
A chance for Liam Lawson to secure his Formula 1 future. The Racing Bulls driver is yet to sign beyond this season but has been promoted to the Red Bull team for this weekend's Dutch Grand Prix. Lawson replaces Isack Hadjar, who's injured his wrist. F1 Journalist Chris Medland told Mike Hosking this is the best chance Lawson has to state his case for a future Red Bull seat. He says without this sort of opportunity, it would've been very tough for him to prove that point. LISTEN ABOVE See omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.

Aston Martin's rescue package is coming...but Alonso may have to decide his future before then.Climb the ladder with me on Patreon: https://patreon.com/lawvsAston Martin is promising one of the biggest performance jumps of the F1 2026 season! A new chassis for Hungary and then Honda's got an engine upgrade at the race after that, the Dutch Grand Prix...but there's a catch. Adrian Newey can't give us a number for the gains. Two seconds? Marcin Budkowski, who worked with Oscar Piastri at Alpine and held engineering roles at Ferrari and McLaren, joins Tom Clarkson in the Zandvoort paddock to reflect on an action-packed Dutch Grand Prix. After Lando Norris's late mechanical failure, Piastri's seventh victory of the season moves him 34 points clear of his McLaren teammate at the top of the Drivers' Standings. What does that retirement mean for Lando's title hopes and his approach for the rest of the season? How did Oscar end up getting the better of Lando after trailing him in all three practice sessions? Marcin shares fascinating insight into how different Oscar is in the cockpit compared to out of the car with his helmet off, and why the Australian has surprised him this year after having some doubts about his title-winning credentials. Lando's loss was Isack Hadjar's gain, as the Racing Bulls rookie jumped up a place from P4 to P3 to score his first podium in Formula 1. How did Isack execute his best weekend in F1 so far? Should Red Bull promote him to be Max Verstappen's teammate in 2026? And Ferrari had a weekend to forget with a double DNF, after Charles Leclerc was taken out by Kimi Antonelli and Lewis Hamilton crashed into the barriers. Marcin tells Tom why he thinks Antonelli is going through a difficult patch at Mercedes and why Lewis's struggles with the car remind him of Daniel Ricciardo at McLaren. Former Renault driver, Jolyon Palmer, and F1TV lead commentator, Alex Jacques, join Tom Clarkson to discuss Formula 1's return to action at this weekend's Dutch Grand Prix in Zandvoort. Oscar Piastri leads Lando Norris by just nine points at the top of the World Championship. With just 10 races and three F1 Sprints to go, who would the guys rather be in this title fight? Should Oscar have a bigger lead in the standings? And has Lando's mentality changed throughout the season? Max Verstappen hasn't been on the podium in the last four races. Will the support of the Orange Army and his incredible record at this track help him get back in the top three? What is the rest of 2025 all about for Max and Red Bull? And is Yuki Tsunoda fighting for his F1 future in these last 10 races? Ferrari are the only team in the top four yet to win a race this year. Will that change before the end of the season? What should Team Principal Fred Vasseur do to get the best out of Lewis Hamilton? And Jolyon, Alex and Tom debate who they think has been the best rookie so far this season.
