This week on the Auto Action RevLimiter, Andrew and Bruce dive deep into a Spanish Grand Prix that had it all — dominance, drama, and dummy spits.Oscar Piastri delivered a clinical performance in Barcelonato take a commanding win and firmly plant himself in the championship conversation. But while the Aussie was calm and collected, Max Verstappen was anything but — throwing a full-blown tantrum over team strategy and setup decisions. We break down the fallout, the radio rants, and whether Red Bull is starting to feel the pressure. But it wasn't just about the front-runners — so who else caught the eye of Andrew and Bruce? There are a few surprise names on their list…We also take a quick look at the blockbuster Auto Action Premium exclusive with incoming Supercars CEO James Warburton and RACE chairman Barclay Nettlefold. International expansion, commercial growth, and a possible new global Supercars series? It's all on the table.Plus, we run through the latest news from across the motorsport world — from IndyCar and NASCAR to Supercars Silly Season whispers and everything in between.
Mel's crook this week, so Andrew and Bruce are steering the ship on this episode of RevLimiter — and there's plenty to cover in under an hour.First up, it's the Monaco Grand Prix, where Lando Norris finally conquered the streets of Monte Carlo to take the win and slice Oscar Piastri's championship lead down to just three points. Bruce has a few spicy suggestions on how to actually fix Monaco as a race, while both ponder how the replacements for Jack Doohan and Liam Lawson are doing their best to prove why they shouldn't have been picked in the first place.Over in the States, the world's biggest motor race — the Indy 500 — was won by Alex Palou in a thriller. But the victory was almost overshadowed by the Team Penske cheating saga, which has now claimed three big-name scalps inside the operation. And in MotoGP, it wasn't a Marquez on top — it was a wild race no one seemed to want to win, while young Aussie Senna Agius stunned the field with his maiden Moto2 victory. All that and more in this week's Auto Action RevLimiter. This week on The Auto Action RevLimiter, Andrew Clarke and the crew unpack a wild weekend of motorsport – starting with Max Verstappen's gritty win at Imola. How did McLaren not convert raw pace into victory? Was it strategy, tyre wear… or the problem of having 2 drivers in the fight? Red Bull didn't have that issue – especially after Yuki Tsunoda's monster crash ended his qualifying session early. We also break down the weekend chaos at Imola: Franco Colapinto filled in for Jack Doohan and promptly put it in the wall, Ferrari raced better than they qualified, Aston Martin did the opposite, and Mercedes had a complete shocker.Back home, James Warburton is back at the helm of Supercars – and we reckon that's a good thing. We dig into what it means and what's next. Then it's off to Indy, where Team Penske was slapped with disqualifications at a race they own, in a series it owns. Awkward? Absolutely. But don't be surprised when they come out swinging at the Indy 500 as it targets three-in-a-row.All that plus the latest headlines, hot takes, and news fromaround the racing world. This week on The Auto Action RevLimiter, we're turning up the heat from the frozen south, which actually wasn't that frozen! Andrew Clarke was trackside in Tasmania, and he's got all the stories — from Matt Payne winning with his head rather than his right foot, to Broc Feeney proving he's got both speed and silverware, even if the clean sweep slipped through his fingers. We unpack the brains-beat-brawn strategy play that handed Payne the win, why Feeney still walks away on top of the championship, and how DJR's night in the steward's office turned into a proper disqualification debacle. We also dive into Brad Jones' big Toyota switch — yes, it's real — and which Supercars stars are packing their passports for NASCAR's Chicago Street Race. Then, buckle up as we explore the $350 million facelift coming to Albert Park's pit lane, and why it's not just about F1 but the future of motorsport in Victoria. It's all here. All killer, no filler. We're firing on all cylinders and stirring the pot like it's Sunday arvo at the pub!
Strap in because the latest episode of the RevLimiter is firing on all cylinders and 'confecting' all the stories from a big weekend of motorsport! We kicked things off under the Bahrain lights, where Oscar Piastri was cooler than a cucumber in the sand, delivering a textbook takedown of McLaren teammate Lando Norris. Some say it was domination, others say it was daylight robbery — either way, poor Lando looked like his spirit had been quietly escorted out of parc fermé. Meanwhile, Gorgeous George Russell was driving a wounded Mercedes but still managed to fend off Norris for P2. We're not saying George's defence was heroic... but somewhere, a Union Jack just fluttered with pride. Was it genuine pace, team strategy, or just a bit of well-timed confecting from the pit wall? We don't know, but it tasted sweet for Oscar either way.Back on home turf — well, close enough — it was a Kiwi cash grab in Taupō as Matt Payne cleaned up with two wins, the Jason Richards Trophy, and presumably a new savings account. Chaz Mostert kept it interesting by pinching one of the wins, but Payne was the local hero with the Midas touch. We also dive into Tony Quinn's bold call to rotate the New Zealand round between the country's four big tracks — because, as he puts it, NZ can only support one round a year, but why not let everyone have a turn?Plus, we round out the episode with the latest from overseas: NASCAR and IMSA winners get their dues, and Marc Márquez proves once again he's not just back — he's back on top in MotoGP.Catch all the banter, breakdowns and a few dodgy predictions on the RevLimiter. It's like a warm-up lap for your ears.
Max Vertsappen was unheaded on his way to the Japanese Grand Prix after a stunning qualifying lap set him on the path to victory. McLaren mucked it up, though. It missed the chance to undercut with Lando Norris and then left him to waddle around an unthreatening distance from Verstappen while the faster Oscar Piastri wanted a crack. We pull it apart with typical honesty. As we do the news that Brad Jones Racing and PremiAir Racing are exploring a move away from Chevrolet next year as exlusively report in the pages of Auto Action Premium. And if you are on the ACDelco website, use the code AAREVL25 for a 25% discount on all your parts. Oscar Piastri has his first win on the board after dominating the Chinese Grand Prix last weekend with a pole-to-flag victory. Lando Norris was second and George Russell third. But the Saturday sprint race was all about Ferrari and Lewis Hamilton, who scored his first win for the Scuderia. But then it all turned to disaster in the main race when he was disqualified for wearing out his plank too much. Not to feel alone, teammate Charles Leclerc was also rubbed our for being underweight, as was Pierre Gasly in an Alpine. Anyway, Andrew, Bruce and Melinda pull the race apart. We've got all the NASCAR, Rally and IndyCar news, and the bombshell departure of Shane Howard from the CEO's office at Supercars. Lando Norris has won an incident-packed wet Australian Grand Prix after a couple of extreme heat. Oscar Piastri challenged him until he was told to 'hold', and then later spun out of the action. Max Verstappen and George Russell wereon the podium, but how did it all play out?The Supercars lost their Sunday race to rain but had three full-on races in the lead-up. Broc Feeney had four positions and one win; Will Brown had a win, too, and has regained the series. But the big story was a Matt Stone Racing one-two and a maiden win to Cam Hill. It is one of the best weekends of the year for motorsport people in this country, the Australian Grand Prix. A heaving motorsport festival that drags 450,000 people onto thestreets around Albert Park Lake in Melbourne, and billions on TV sets worldwide. And we are back in pole position as the first race of the year, which means the unknown. Testing suggests the pecking order is McLaren, Mercedes, Ferrari and then Red Bull, but by the end of Sunday, we'll know if that is crap or not.Can Oscar Piastri win the Australian Grand Prix? Will Jack Doohan do enough to settle the drama around his drive, and why Alpine should just let him do his job? Then there's the other 'Aussie' Liam Lawson at Red Bull—a triple Antipodean attack that will make the racing even more interesting for us. Anyway, we pull out our crystal balls and give them a run.Plus, we've got all the latest news and views, from driver swaps in Supercars to Christopher Bell dominating NASCAR. Cam Waters dropped a marker in the ground with one of the most dominant weekends we've seen in a long time in Supercars. On the track, we look at the Bathurst 12 Hour and BMW's one-two and plenty of big crashes. Jamie McFadden's win in the Australian Sprintcar Championship taking a very rare double. The motor racing season is over, and so in this, the last episode of the year, we wrap it all up and talk about the things that made us smile. And there was plenty from #F1, #Supercars, #IndyCars, #NASCAR, and pretty much everything else we can think of, including a big chat about Speedway. The most interesting people, the best races, the best rookies, and the most significant moments of the season are all on the table for Andrew, Bruce and Melinda to discuss. The most extended F1 season in history is finally over on the edge of Christmas, and McLaren has taken its first F1 World Constructors' Championship since 1998 after a stunning and dominant win by Lando Norris. Our Oscar—and yes, we say ours because he is our columnist—was taken out on the first corner by a clumsy Max Verstappen, but he set a marker in the ground as the only driver in the field willing to challenge the four-time champ on the track. There is plenty of huff and puff and bluster off the track, with the war of words impressing Bruce, but in the end, none of that matters. Next year's Ferrari teammates Lewis Hamilton and Charles Leclerc put it in stunning drives from the back of the grid, meaning the F1 fight next year will be salivating. We also discussed Jack Doohan's F1 debut and why the outing matters more than the result. We have plenty of news to discuss, and then we close out with some speedway. Formula 1 is in its final two races of the season, and the whinging behaviour of its drivers has finally become too much to bear. Find out which driver lost respect for who over allegations of dobbing, but then turned around and did the same to someone else in the race. We love conflict, but not this epidemic of being sooky la-las? Why can't they just person-up and race like racers? This is all part of our debrief of the #QatarGP, which Max Verstappen won. Charles Leclerc and Auto Action's Oscar Piastri were on the podium. Plus, we are preparing for Jack Doohan's early F1 debut this weekend. There's plenty of other news and views, too. Max Verstappen has been crowned the 2024 World Drivers' Champion after doing just enough in Las Vegas to kill off the threat from Lando Norris mathematically. But Las Vegas was more than just about the title; it was a cracking race with a Mercedes one-two and action up and down the field. We're looking for a sponsor to get to this race next year, that's how much we enjoyed it! We have a pile of news about Cadillac joining F1, some rallies and other local news too… think TA2, Formula Regional and ‘More Than Equal'. And then there's concussion and the big story in Auto Action about how motorsport needs to get more mature about how it handles concussions… which we are assured is coming. We spoke with Dr Peter Larkins, one of the world's leading sports medicos, and he was shocked at some of the things we told him. It is also now official… Melinda Price is part of our team in what will be a test of resilience. But you should hear about all the people she has been talking with. It was double trouble for the Supercars Championship Series, with Will Brown his first Supercars title while spearheading a Red Bull Ampol Racing one-two that left the squad dominating the Teams' Championship. And because it was the Adelaide 500, there was heaps happening. Turn 8 was tearing up cars again, and we think there is a simple fix or two to keep it challenging but to reduce the danger that left two drivers not well enough to race. Zach Bates locked down the Dunlop Super2 Series in a 'future' star studded field when some of the main game teams start looking properly. Todd Hazelwood did the same in Trans Am… and Adam Marjoram won the Super Utes. Harri Jones won the Carrera Cup, but he'd already done that before Adelaide. Then there was George Martin - aka Jorge Martin - getting the job done in MotoGP. But there was no PG this week, so we roped in Melinda Price, and we may keep her. Tell us what you think! This week's Auto Action RevLimiter is all about looking forward. We are looking forward to the final round of the Supercars this weekend. We're looking forward to the McLaren letting Oscar Piastri off the leash. We're looking forward to return of Targa Tasmania… and really, we're looking forward to more motorsport. Max Verstappen likely sealed his fourth F1 World Championship with a storming drive from 17th on the grid to win a wet Brazilian Grand Prix. Lando Norris still has a mathematical chance, but that is it. Alpine also set up a $50m payday with dual podiums, elevating it a few spots on the constructors' battle. MotoGP has also experienced some weather events, with the deadly floods around Valencia forcing the final rounds of the series to find a new home. Jorge Martin is looking at his first MotoGP title, aided by a fall from Francesco Bagnaia, but the fight is alive after one of the greatest races in history. Then there's NASCAR, with the Championship 4 decided for both the Cup Series and Xfinity Cup, with punches thrown at the end of the Xfinity race at Martinsville, and the promise of more fireworks this weekend in Phoenix as scores look to get settled in the final race of 2024. All the major motorsports championships around the world are closing in on their finals rounds, and all are trimming the contenders. Supercars and MotoGP are down to two, F1 is also maybe two but that is a stretch, and NASCAR still has eight… but only for one more week. So how did it all happen? We debrief Supercars on the Gold Coast and wins to Cam Waters and Brodie Kostecki, but a shocker to Chaz Mostert has left that title fight down to only Triple Eight teammates Will Brown and Broc Feeney with one round remaining. Waters said he wanted to be a nuisance, and he was. Lando Norris and Max Verstappen clashed again in F1, and this time the powers that be ruled a line in the sand under Verstappen's petulant behaviour and driving standards and the F1 drivers told the flawed Dutchman they are over it… We're loving the NASCAR Playoffs and can't wait for the cut throat Supercars Finals next year, but what would have happened if the series was using our Finals system as proposed weeks ago? Hint – Chaz is out of the running, but Brodie ain't. And if you are on the AC Delco site, use AAREVL25 for a 20% discount on all your parts. It is episode 42 for this year, which means we need to explore a little of life, the universe and everything. But we'll start with the Ferrari one-two in Austin, Texas, and talk a little bit about the bullshit penalty handed out to Lando Norris for being forced off the track by an out-of-control Max Verstappen – we tend to think he's not out of talent; however, his race craft is pretty poor for a three-time world champion. Although he can winge better than most Poms. We chat briefly about MotoGP and the stunning ride by young Aussie Senna Agius in Moto2 – our next motorcycle racing hero. Then things get heated when Bruce tries to defend this year's Bathurst 1000 and 'drive as fast as you can' as a strategy, which PG and Andrew didn't think was a strategy. Then we peeled him off the roof and closed the show. All this and more on the latest episode of the Auto Action RevLimiter. Brodie Kostecki and Todd Hazelwood dominated the 2024 Bathurst 1000 in the #1 Chiko Camaro. Kostecki was back to his brilliant best, and Hazelwood was the best of the co-drivers. Red Bull Ampol Racing filled the minor spots on the podium in the fastest ever Bathurst 1000, with only one Safety Car at a convenient, for some, 29 laps from home - or one full tank of fuel. Plenty of other stuff went down too. We have a little bit of other news in #NASCAR and #Sprintcars and the change to our shareholders list, with Betty Klimenko coming on board as an equal partner to Bruce and Andrew. This week on the Auto Action RevLimiter we reflect on the career of Daniel Ricciardo, who deserved a lot more respect than Red Bull showed him. We also look at Renault shutting down its engine program and what that may mean for the Alpine team. And what about the anti-trust? Does this all open the door for Andretti? What is happening with the Ford engines for Bathurst? When did we all go there for the first time, and what has changed since then, aside from many more potholes on the road? Plus, we've got the latest news from NASCAR, World Rally, and Speedway, which is ramping up again now that the weather is better. And we also look at the life of an all-round good bloke and great racer Peter Fitzgerald. We've got a little bit of NASCAR and SVG, along with the World Rally Championship and more on the latest edition of the Auto Action RevLimiter. Lando Norris has asked for the Jaws music after dominating the Singapore Grand Prix and closing the gap to Max Verstappen to only a fraction more than two race wins. The title hunt is alive, and with Oscar Piastri ready to take points off the reigning champ, it may only be a matter of races before Norris snatches the lead in the drivers' title, just as McLaren did to the constructors' championship last week… which is just as well, because there are only six races left now. We look at the impressive young Argentinian Franco Colapinto while reflecting on Daniel Ricciardo, who may have just driven his final Grand Prix… much to our disgust. A bit of Supercars with the news that Mark Skaife has resigned from the RACE and Supercar Boards, leaving the sport open to negotiate a new TV deal without any conflicts. We reflect on his time and his critical role in getting Supercars to where it is today. And what about those Ford engines? Will they be OK for Bathurst? Are there really GT3 cranks heading down under? We've got a little bit of NASCAR and SVG, along with the World Rally Championship and more on the latest edition of the Auto Action RevLimiter. It is a news story more than 20 years in the making, but the largest vehicle manufacturer in the world, as opposed to the manufacturer of the largest vehicles in the world, has signed up to go Supercars racing. Toyota joins Australia's largest motor racing series in 2026 with Walkinshaw Andretti United and one other yet-to-be-identified team for at least five seasons. But what does it really mean? Auto Action's Bruce Williams was at the launch, and he dissected the meaning of life with Andrew Clarke and Toyota's unofficial spokesperson, Paul Gover. We talk about Oscar Piastri's win in the Azerbaijan Grand Prix and how he has helped take McLaren back to the top of the F1 pile. But what happened to Carlos Sainz and Sergio Perez, and where was Lando Norris and Max Verstappen? Then it is Supercars and the Sandown 478, previously known as the Sandown 500 and Red Bull Ampol Racing domination and a podium to everyone's favourite team, PremiAir Racing. But what was happening to those Ford engines on the eve of Bathurst? How would they do 1000 km when they can't even get through a drive day? Plus a little bit of NASCAR and IndyCar… All this and more on the Auto Action RevLimiter. And check out https://autoaction.com.au/ for all the latest updates and dropping news. And apologies for the sound; much of this was recorded on the road.
It is the Sandown 500 this weekend, and we have a good look at the driver pairings that matter and the co-drivers we really want to see. We even take a stab at who is going to win. Charles Leclerc stole the Italian Grand Prix from Oscar Piastri with a bold single-stop strategy, leaving the Tifosi in tears of joy, while Oscar showed a grumpy face of frustration. With Max Verstappen struggling, this world championship is well and truly alive. To understand it all, we brought our very own rookie – Reese Mautone - in for FP1, and she runs rings around Bruce and Andrew without hitting the wall. Andrew and Bruce talk about all the Supercars news, because Reese doesn't follow that, and we launch an audacious bid to save the Sandown 500 from a ridiculous housing development. All the details on how to join the Melbourne Racing Club and have your voice heard are in the latest digital edition of Auto Action at https://autoaction.com.au/issues/auto-action-1894. Plus, this week's Auto Action RevLimiter features all the latest news from around the world. #F1 #Supercars #NASCAR #IndyCar #MotoGP
In this edition of The Auto Action RevLimiter, we dig into Anton De Pasquale's signing with Team 18, as revealed on the Auto Action website on Tuesday. In the game of falling dominoes, Anton's move was triggered by the (rumoured) signing of Brodie Kostecki to his seat at Dick Johnson Racing. The last domino to fall belonged to Mark Winterbottom, and we're not sure where we will see the former champ next year… although we doubt it will be Team 18. There is a slot left at PremiAir – and we let you know what we reckon there, too. Plus, we've got all the latest in F1 from the Dutch Grand Prix, including Lando Norris's flogging of Max Verstappen. Both the Driver and Constructor Championships are alive. And Jack Doohan's got an F1 drive with Alpine next year… we talk about that, too. We've also got NASCAR news, including SVG's elevation to the Cup Series with Trackhouse. And Will Power's closing in on another IndyCar Championship. We look at Sports Sedans from Sandown and GT from Phillip Island, too… This is The Auto Action RevLimiter. And stay up to date with all the news on the Auto Action Website
The Supercars were back in action at Symmons Plains in Tasmania, and the action was intense—even after the race with controversy spewing into Monday morning. Plus, there's F1, IndyCar and NASCAR news and a rapid preview of this weekend. All this and more on The Auto Action RevLimiter. https://autoaction.com.au/

Australia is winning gold medals, and now it's loading up on Formula 1 drivers, with Jack Doohan's imminent elevation into the ranks. Doohan leads the news this week before we dig into Supercars. We have Silly Season, how to do the playoffs, the calendar and our mid-season reviews. And then we have the Auto Action Department of Youth before Bruce pulls out the whacking stick for a swipe at the boss of Supercars. All this and more. https://autoaction.com.au/ https://www.revlimiter.com.au/ #F1 #Supercars #Alpine #Super2
They say it was worn tyres, but wherever that 1.5kg went, it took George Russell's 2nd win this season and handed it to his teammate Lewis Hamilton, who was on a more conservative strategy. Oscar Piastri was second... but how does his season rate? We debrief every driver and every team and wonder why Carlos Sainz is going to Williams - what does he know? - and why Red Bull is sticking with Sergio Perez as the hapless Mexican hands ascendancy to McLaren. There's a little bit on the Supercars merry-go-round, which has just started in Supercars, too. All this and more on the Auto Action Rev Limiter. www.autoaction.com.au www.revlimiter.com.au
In the latest edition of The Auto Action Rev Limiter Podcast, we dig deep into ‘our' Oscar Piastri's first F1 Grand Prix Win… and we say ‘our' because he has been an Auto Action Columnist before the other motorsport media in Australia even knew his name. He is the 115th winner of a Grand Prix and the 5th Australian to do so. The side play was the petulance of Lando Norris and the dummy spitting tantrum of Max Verstappen, who didn't like working for a living. We also digest Chaz Mostert's dominant weekend in Sydney as he hunts the Bulls. He's passed Broc Feeney in the title race, and now he has his eyes on Will Brown. Plus we've got all the news that matters. Remember to like and subscribe to the podcast and check out the latest digital version of Auto Action, which you can find on our website or by clicking here to go straight to Auto Action #1891. https://autoaction.com.au/
For the first time this year, there will be only one weekend break between Supercars rounds as we head to the Sydney SuperNight. But what does that mean for the circus, and why does racing under lights work so well? Plus, we've got news on IndyCars and wins for Scott McLaughlin and Will Power at the Iowa Speedway. There's also NASCAR and Xfinity, Goodwood, WEC, and even the European Le Mans Series to talk about. Then, we'll chat with Craig Lowndes about the Silverado he drove in the Finke Desert Race. All this and more on the Auto Action RevLimiter.
This is the Auto Action RevLimiter, where we cover all the news in the motorsport world, starting with Lewis Hamilton's tears-inducing win in England, his first in 945 days, and did the Poms go wild? But for Oscar Piastri, it is a story of what could have been, with McLaren buggering up his strategy and costing him a win and a podium. Still, at least he isn't Sergio Perez. The Supercars in Townsville were sensational. The Saturday race was easily the best in a long while. Cam Waters won that one from Chaz Mostert, while Matt Payne won on Sunday. We've got news on #NASCAR, #IndyCar and #MotoGP, and we have our legal advisor online - Sven Burchartz - to keep Bruce under control and to talk Erebus, Tickford and whatever else he wants because that is how we offset his bill. On this episode of The Autro Action Rev Limiter, Andrew, Bruce, and PG break down the Betty Klimenko interview from the latest edition of Auto Action (AA1889), the reasons why she has finally spoken out—hint: she's sick of people making things up—and why things are the way they are. PS: Barry Ryan is still the CEO, in case you heard differently elsewhere. We've got all the latest news and plenty of F1 discussion.
In this edition of The Auto Action RevLimiter, we spend a lot of time talking about the Supercars in Darwin… and it is mostly all good. James Golding was great, Broc Feeney was brilliant, Brodie Kostecki was back, and the Fords were slow. Plus, who wasn't there, and why was only one absentee written about for a story? Was there a pretty weak attempt at public humiliation and revenge? Also, in Supercars, we talk about the Perth street race and take a swipe at the naysayers who have been talking it and the sport down. We say you were wrong. The 24 Hour of Le Mans excited Bruce and PG, who watched the entire race… not. Well, they watched enough to be truly excited about another Ferrari win at one of the greatest sporting events in the world. We have some news and not much else this week.
Shane van Gisbergen has gone back-to-back with a win in Sonoma to follow on from his win the week before in Portland in the NASCAR Xfinity Series, while his antipodean mates – Will Brown and Cam Waters – had mixed debuts in the NASCAR Cup Series… but both showed enough to stay on the radar or the US teams looking for the next Giz? We hear one of them is even being chased by two teams. Max Verstappen was back on top in Formula 1 in Canada, but he had to work for this win in the rain as both Lando Norris and George Russell stuffed up any chance of a win. Dan Ricciardo was fired up by comments from Jacques Villeneuve on the telecast questioning whether he was ever good enough to be in F1 at all. P5 gave ur Dan all the ammunition he needed to take aim at the Canadian former champion. Plus, we've got all the latest news on Supercars, F1, IndyCar, and whatever else came to our minds at the time. We also look at the Darwin Supercars and the hypercars at Le Mans for the 24-hour race. So, join us now for the Auto Action RevLimiter and make sure you check on the website for all the latest news and for the digital magazine – www.autoaction.com.au
Shane van Gisbergen won his first Xfinity Series race on the weekend in Portland, a week before Cam Waters and Will Brown join him as Cup Series drivers. The NASCAR racing was typically entertaining too. Esteban Ocon has been fired, but will young Aussie Jack Doohan get the job next year? Jack Miller lost his KTM factory ride for the 2025 season to Peda Acosta, but Miller remains confident of securing a competitive ride, likely with Tech3. Meanwhile, Francesco Bagnaia secured his third consecutive Italian Motorcycle Grand Prix victory, maintaining pressure on series leader Jorge Martin and Marc Marquez. Scott Dixon emerged victorious at the Detroit IndyCar street race, extending his series lead over Alex Palou. Toby Price, Paul Weel, and Brent Bauman claimed victory at the Baja 500, while various winners emerged at The Bend's secret Speed Series meeting. Jock Goodyer received top honours at the 2024 Australian Speedway Awards, and Peugeot received a significant Balance of Performance adjustment for Hypercars at Le Mans, affecting various manufacturers. And we start the loose stuff; again, we set about fixing Supercars and addressing the $20m loss. Oh yeah, we take a quick peak at #F1 in Canada.
On this edition of the Auto Action Rev Limiter, we debrief a massive weekend of Motorsport; we certainly had some massive nights down under. Josef Newgarden won the Indy 500 with a last-lap pass, Christopher Bell won the big NASCAR race, and Charles Le Clerc won a typical Monaco Grand Prix... it may have the glamour, but it doesn't race well. Andrew, Bruce and PG talk about all that and more... like Aussie's winning in F4 and GT3 races and standing on the podium in F2. And then there's the RACE - the owners of Supercars - reporting better financials than the year before. It is all there in this edition of The Auto Action Rev Limiter. And don't forget to check out the digital magazine at https://autoaction.com.au/
It was a big motorsport weekend, that's for sure. Ford broke its duck with a pair of wins in Perth, one each for Chaz Mostert and Cam Waters, and we do a deep dive into what happened. Max Verstappen had another win, but he is now actually having to work for them as the McLarens close in. Then there was qualifying for the Indy 500 and a Penske lockout of the front row, with Scotty Mac the fastest driver ever at the biggest sporting venue in the world. Will Power is second and Joesf Newgarden is next. All that and more on the Auto Action Rev Limiter. For the latest news and more on the above, jump on the Auto Action website and make sure you flick through the digital magazine and sign up for your weekly notification.
On this week's show, Andrew, Bruce and PG rejoice at the return of #Supercars after what feels like and eternity, but is only four weeks. We preview the Perth round in this week's Auto Action RevLimiter. We've got all the news, including Cam Waters' #NASCAR Cup Series debut, Jett Lawrence's stunning Motocross Championship win, Oscar's better than Lando Drive and Andrew Miedecke wanting a dedicated 6-hour GT4 at Bathurst the day before the 12-Hour. Plus we're back to #F1 racing with consequences and Imola is toughened up with reduced run-offs. https://autoaction.com.au/
The Miami F1 Grand Prix finally turned it on, and for the first time this year Max Verstappen was beaten on the track. McLaren launched the attack, first with Oscar Piastri and then by Lando Norris who had a bit more luck with the Safety Cars. He pulled away for a maiden win. We have plenty of F1 talk and a little bit of Supercars, F4 and New Zealand. And don't forget to check out autoaction.com.au
