Shamanic Experiences on Coast to Coast AM February 17, 2025Shamanic explorer Matthew J. Pallamary discussed the universal appeal and foundational significance of shamanism across cultures, including the use of ayahuasca. He pointed out similarities between South American indigenous beliefs and those found in various global religions, including the legend of the Great Flood. Calling shamanism "the world's oldest spiritual belief system," he said its roots are deeply embedded in prehistoric spirituality. Shamanism, he continued, encompasses the roles of healers, teachers, and therapists. They serve as guides, "going to the other worlds or the other realms... to find the knowledge," with the pursuit sometimes involving working with psychoactive plants like ayahuasca, which help shamans explore consciousness through visionary experiences, and spiritual animal totems.Drawing from his extensive experiences with ayahuasca ceremonies over the past 25 years in Central and South America, Pallamary offered personal insights into the plant medicine and related rituals. He explained how these practices are steeped in centuries of trial and error, and that knowledge has been passed down through generations. "In the jungle, there are no medical facilities close by. And these cures and these plants go back literally to prehistoric times." Pallamary emphasized that ayahuasca is not for everyone and requires careful screening and respect, especially considering its potential interactions with medications like SSRIs.

ARE HUMMINGBIRDS THE NERVE ENDINGS OF GOD? https://www.amazon.com/dp/B09NV4NZXQ/ref=sr_1_1?keywords=Picaflores+Pallamary&qid=1639963249&s=digital-text&sr=1-1 (Picaflores: The Nerve Endings of GOD) is available as an e-book, a full color special print edition, a black and white print edition, and as an audio book. Matthew J. Pallamary's magical, otherworldly, intimate connection with the spirit of https://www.amazon.com/Picaflor-Continuing-Adventures-Shamanic-Pallamary/dp/B09HCS4YHJ/ref=tmm_aud_swatch_0?_encoding=UTF8&qid=1640071280&sr=1-2 (Picaflor) comes from two decades of visionary journeys experienced within the context of shamanic plant diets in the Peruvian Amazon where he says it was first gifted to him by the spirit of Condor. Pallamary relates to the Spanish name of Picaflor which means to bite or sting flower which is the common reference used by the Shipibo Indians, mestizos, and other groups he has worked with in Peru. In his visionary journeys he has been blessed to experience reality filtered through a shamanic world view where everything is energy, and from this magical point of view the word spirit and energy mean the same thing. He says that if you see the world amplified through the lens of this timeless supernatural perspective, you will gain insight into the profound ways that plants, animals, and insects communicate with us and each other. According to the lore of the jungle, by sharing in the vibratory field of the animal's spirit energy, in a state of surrender on that entity's terms, that animal learns from the human by seeing things through human eyes while the human learns other modes of perception from seeing things through the animal's eyes. Pallamary says that he flew first as a Condor, then as a Hummingbird into sublime and exquisite high frequency realities exploding with neon luminescent pastel manifestations that defy description. Manifesting as air wrapped in light, every aspect of the physical and essence energetic of Picaflor is high frequency, not only in their external displays of high frequency color, song, high speed wing hum, and feather trills from their tails, but internally in how they see, hear, metabolize, and burn energy at high frequencies. Other than their bigger hearts, huge lungs, and brains, they are mostly made from air, the elemental defined as and representative of spirit, and they are masters of air. If they existed and manifested at frequencies higher than what they do, they would disappear into invisibility beyond our perception, truly becoming pure spirit. Is it any wonder that they are considered to be the nerve endings of God? https://www.amazon.com/PICAFLORES-Nerve-Endings-MATTHEW-PALLAMARY-ebook/dp/B09NV4NZXQ/ref=sr_1_1?qid=1640071504&refinements=p_27%3AMATTHEW+PALLAMARY&s=digital-text&sr=1-1&text=MATTHEW+PALLAMARY (Picaflores: The Nerve Endings of GOD) also contains a treasure trove of pre-Columbian myths about hummingbirds and an in-depth collection of amazing facts and figures about these magical creatures. Although the content of the book's formats are identical, the stunning preternatural beauty of hummingbirds can best be seen in the full color print edition, while the full color e-book edition contains active links to video listed in the printed editions, and the audiobook version has the added sounds of hummingbird hums, chirps, and buzzes.

Journey back in time to a long forgotten world, where nature speaks through plants, and song pours forth from cascading waterfalls as breathtakingly as a church choir sings Ave Maria. A place where the rhythm of a feathered rattle is believed to bring you closer to your creator. A world where mysticism and innate spirituality conflict with Christianity. Avá-Tapé, raised in the traditions of the Guarani Indians of South America, then Mission educated by the Jesuits, sees the truth and beauty in both worlds, but he can only live in one. Neither the Jesuits, nor his father, Avá-Nembiará, the tribe's shaman, will accept less than absolute allegiance, which forces Avá-Tapé to choose between them. Shamanism, religious bigotry, history, imperialism, coming of age, and a touching love story drive this incisive, thought-provoking narrative of the demise and ultimate triumph of an indigenous people and their traditions. Facing both a physical and a spiritual quest, Avá-Tapé, inspired by his devotion to his people and his love for the beautiful Kuná-Mainó, emerges as the most powerful shaman of all, leading his tribe to the mythical https://www.amazon.com/dp/B09L5DHPVL/ref=tmm_aud_swatch_0?_encoding=UTF8&qid=1636180009&sr=1-4 (LAND WITHOUT EVIL). With language that captures both the essence and spirit of the Guarani culture, Pallamary takes his readers into a world long forgotten, but well worth exploring, into a spirituality that transcends religious dogma and inspires understanding and hope. Both realistic to its setting and timeless in its portrayal of the human condition, LAND WITHOUT EVIL is a triumphant celebration of the human spirit. “Bravo….More!” Ray Bradbury, author of Fahrenheit 451 “Elements of Carlos Castaneda, Peter Mathiesson, and Gabriel Garcia Marquez jostle each other, yet…Pallamary weaves an extraordinarily original web.” –San Diego Union Tribune “Land Without Evil is a great read for anyone looking for insight and inspiration on their own spiritual journey…” — Harold Bloomfield, author of Hypericum and Depression “A triumphant blending of creative imagination and deep scholarly research, both driven by Pallamary's philosophical idealism, Land Without Evil proves that a suspenseful novel can sizzle with conflict–with no villains on either side, only good souls who differ.” — Charles Champlin, critic, and author of Back There Where the Past Was “Pallamary plunges into the heart with a moving tale about people caught between worlds–the past, the future, and the possible…” — David Brin, author of The Postman “Read, trust, expand, and know that once we, too, were all there…EMPOWERED!” —Victor Villasenor, author of Rain of Gold A clash of faith spurs much conflict between peoples. Land Without Evil is a historical novel of religion, exploring the character of Ava-Tapé, raised by Guarani Indians, educated by Jesuits, and sees the aspects of both worlds in this rough time in South American History. Seeking a better world for his people when surrounded by bigotry, “Land Without Evil” is a riveting read, a choice read from Matthew J. Pallamary, highly recommended. —The Midwest Book Review – Small Press Bookwatch Magazine

Legendary science fiction writer Ray Bradbury inspired thousands of writers with his opening keynote speeches at the https://www.sbwriters.com/ (Santa Barbara Writers Conference )which he kicked off from its humble beginnings in 1972 for 37 years until his passing. This talk is from 1983 which was the 11th year of the conference. Ray was a pillar of the conference and I was blessed to be mentored by him. I was asked to contribute the following essay in a limited edition hardcover tribute to him which I have republished in my short story collection titled "A Short Walk to the Other Side". A Ray of Light By Matthew J. Pallamary In the early seventies I read a short story in a high school English class titled There Will Come Soft Rains that captured my imagination in a way that few stories could. Its opening burned an indelible image into my mind the same way the outlines of a family had been burned into the side of a computerized house where robots went through preprogrammed computerized chores in the aftermath of an atomic blast. This post apocalyptic family portrait created by Ray Bradbury still haunts me more than three decades after first reading it. In the years that followed I discovered that I had a knack for writing, but never in my wildest imaginings did I think I would actually become a writer, and never in my even wilder imaginings could I conceive of knowing Ray Bradbury as a guiding light, an inspiration, and a loving, caring mentor. In nineteen-eighty-eight I attended the Santa Barbara Writer's Conference for the first time, and on opening night I heard Ray kick off the conference with an outpouring of love, passion, and inspiration, not only for the written word, but for life in general. “The hell with everything else”, he exhorted. “Write for the love of it!” Year after year I have returned to the conference, first as a student, then as a workshop leader, each time hearing this same message spoken in different ways with just as much passion, if not more, and each year my inspiration is rekindled anew. In nineteen-ninety-four I published my first short story collection titled The Small Dark Room of the Soul. Friends and colleagues urged me to ask Ray for a blurb because we were affiliated through the conference, but I found myself in mortal terror at the thought of it. Eventually I screwed up my courage and asked the advice of Sid Stebel, a friend, mentor, and a close friend of Ray's. Sid went to bat for me and eventually Ray blessed me with the words: “Bravo More!” Never in my life had two simple words carried so much power. Six years later when my first novel, Land Without Evil came out, I was once again urged to ask Ray for his blessing. During that time he suffered a major health setback that hospitalized him, so I gave up all hope of getting another blurb. To my amazement, soon after my request I received a typed yellow card signed by Ray, full of encouragement, apologizing for not getting back to me sooner, saying he couldn't read my work, but giving me permission to use his original blurb. I treasure that card and have it framed and displayed prominently in my writing space beside a picture of Ray and me. I consider myself blessed to know him personally and doubly blessed by the wish he granted me. Cinderella had her fairy godmother to inspire her with loving light beyond her wildest imaginings, and I have my own Ray of light, a writing godfather who did the same for me. The Center Of The Universe Is Right Between Your Eyes, But Home Is Where the Heart Is, available on Audible, is Pallamary's thirteenth book, and in it he weaves a convincing tapestry that alternates threads of ancient philosophies and preserved indigenous wisdom with recent discoveries in quantum physics, psychology, and the timeless, persistent archetypes of our subconscious. Introduction In this episode of Psychedelics Today, host Joe Moore and Kyle Buller interview Matt Pallamary, and have a discussion with him about his writing, research, and ayahuasca experiences. He also shares his concerns about self-proclaimed gurus and some issues that have been emerging because of the popularity of ayahuasca. 3 Key Points: Science fiction writer Ray Bradbury was a mentor of Matt Pallamary. There are pros and cons to ayahuasca shamanism in Peru. The more in touch with the natural world you are the more balanced you are. Show Notes Matt Pallamary was part of the early psychedelics podcast scene. Matt grew up in Dorchester near Boston, and he began early experiences with sniffing glue, weed, and getting acid from a chemist from M.I.T.. He has almost 20 years experience with ayahuasca. Too many people have a couple of ayahuasca experiences and claim to be a guru. Famed science fiction writer Ray Bradbury was a mentor of Matt Pallamary. Everything is energy—the whole universe exists between our eyes. Matt labels shamans as the first storytellers, the first musicians, the first performers, psychologists, psychiatrists, and first performers. Being in touch with the natural world makes a person more balanced. The boundaries between your conscious and subconscious are blurred, overlapping your visions, dreams, and waking life. When going through an ayahuasca experience, you have to be in a safe place where you can be vulnerable and around people you can trust. For ayahuasca experiences, be sure to get references from people that have successfully worked with a group. Guest speakers: Bruce Damer and Lorenzo Hagerty PROGRAM NOTES: Today's podcast features the first of the recordings from last weekend's workshop (titled “Terence McKenna: Beyond 2012”) that Bruce Damer and Lorenzo led in the Los Angeles area on January 28, 2012. In addition to Lorenzo's remarks and some comments by those in attendance, three videos created by Bruce Damer were shown. Those videos are embedded below. The second part of the podcast is the Occupy Movement update, which features a conversation between Lawrence Lessig and Chris Hedges. During the course of their conversation they debate the relative merits of pushing for a Constitutional Convention verses non-violent civil disobedience. Also included is a sound bite from one of OccupyFreedomLA's live video feeds in which a speaker addresses the actions now being taken by those who are suffering from the foreclosure epidemic that is facing so many people in the U.S. Download MP3 PCs – Right click, select option Macs – Ctrl-Click, select option Video of the first session of the workshop Books mentioned in this podcast Land Without Evil: A Novel By Matthew J. Pallamary Death of the Liberal Class By Chris Hedges Republic, Lost: How Money Corrupts Congress--and a Plan to Stop It By Lawrence Lessig OCCUPY SEGMENT: “The Occupy Movement seems deeply rational for not engaging in normal politics, because normal politics gets us Barack Obama.” -Lawrence Lessig “All of the correctives to American democracy came through movements that never achieved formal political power.” -Chris Hedges “Which in my mind means the system is not reformable but will have to be pushed aside. And I think in that sense the Occupy Movement is, in sort of classical terms, correctly defined as a revolutionary movement.” -Chris Hedges “The legislative branches, both at the state and the federal level, are wholly owned subsidiaries of the corporate state.” -Chris Hedges “But this is a moment, this is more the French Revolution moment. This is a moment when everything is falling apart at the same time, and it's another reason to be pushing on every front at the same time.” -Lawrence Lessig This is the YouTube video from which I extracted some of the audio for this podcast.
