Today, I'm joined by actor Moe Dunford. A native of Waterford in Ireland, Moe has built up an impressive career in both television and film. His standout role for television was the History Channel drama The Vikings and recently, Moe was the lead role in the acclaimed Nexflix film Nightride, in which his character, Budge, spends a hyper stressed night driving across the city of Belfast in an effort to complete one last job and escape the criminal underworld. I met up with Moe in his home town of Dungarvan for a chat about his career. While some fans of The Texas Chainsaw Massacre made their way over to Netflix for the new film, the ride or die fans sauntered over to Amazon Prime. Why? Because they have Night Court… featuring John Larroquette. That joke doesn't really land, since he narrated this sequel too, but seriously, you should watch Night Court. This was originally meant to be an episode where the hosts simply talked about movies in their collections that they hated or at the very least disliked. Then Ade popped in to say hi, and we realized that we had all seen Texas Chainsaw Massacre by David Blue Garcia, so we did an episode on it. The director, aside from being the guy in the Eiffel 65 music video, has a very limited resume. If any of you have seen Tejano, please let us know because it is not streaming for free and $3 is a lot of money compared to our numbers on Patreon… eesh… but hey on that topic—did you know we have a Patreon? *nudge nudge* The film must have been well received, because in the weeks since its release, Fede Alvarez was announced to be part of the next Alien installment. If you want to know how iconic that franchise is, keep in mind that I just used a general term for extraterrestrial and you knew exactly what franchise. Let me tell you, no one thinks of Soldier with Kurt Russel whenever you use that word… even if it is in the Blade Runner universe. Seriously, it is. Look it up. This film stars Sarah Yarkin plays Melody. No, she is not a musician from what I can tell. What I mean to say is that she plays the character Melody. Her sister, Lila, is played by Elsie Fisher. Mark Burnham, guy without a Wikipedia page, plays Leatherface. Moe Dunford pays the panty-moistening, Richter, whom Ade and Mikey both had strong feelings for. The Borg Queen, Alice Krige, stops by for a cup of coffee in the movie, delivering a very memorable moment. What did you think of the film? Leatherface is back in what is apparently the ninth installment of the Texas Chainsaw Massacre franchise. This "requel" does away with all the sequels and brings back the legacy characters of Leatherface, Sally Hardesty (the lone survivor from the first one), and the voice of John Larroquette as the narrator. The film didn't feel like Texas and was in fact shot in Bulgaria. While certainly grisly, we'll let you know how it holds up to the original The Texas Chain Saw Massacre (1974). His first ever US Movie has just been released on Netflix, Texas Chainsaw MassacreMoe is best known for his performance as Aethelwulf in the hit TV series Vikings. Upon graduating from the Gaeity School of Acting in 2009, Moe worked on some of television's finest dramas including The Tudors and Game of Thrones. in 2015 he received an IFTA in the category of Best Actor in a Lead Role in Film for Patrick's Day. Moe is set to be in New York this weekend for the premiere of his recent movie, NIGHT RIDE.Nightride is a real time, one shot thriller set in Belfast about a dealer trying to pull off one last job in order to go straight. Written by Ben Conway Nightride will be screened at the 2022 Dublin International Film Festival on the 1st March, before a Netflix release on 4 March. John Butler is a writer and director who is best known for his films Handsome Devil and The Stag. John has collaborated with the best in the business including Andrew Scott, Domhnall Gleeson, Amy Huberman and Moe Dunford. As well as this, he has written and directed award-winning shorts for the Irish Film Board and directed and co-wrote the 6-part TV sketch show Your Bad Self. He is an occasional columnist and interviewer for the Irish Times and his writing has appeared in the Dublin Review, the San Francisco Chronicle and on NPR. As a novelist, John found success with his debut novel The Tenderloin which is described as a freshly narrated, beautifully observed and emotionally affecting story of a young man's struggle for self-definition, told with equal parts charm, humour and lyricism from a new Irish talent. This Irish director and writer has been getting lots of attention for his most recent work, Handsome Devil, which was recognized at the Toronto International Film Festival and appeared on many critics' 2016 year-end "best" lists and he is currently in the process of editing his latest film Papi Chulo which will star Matt Bomer.
