Nous allons découvrir les 72 noms de femmes scientifiques qui vont être inscrits sur la tour.  Béatrice Marticorena, scientifique au CNRS a participé à une commission d'experts. À 20 ans, en 2016, Rod Paradot, repéré lors d'un casting sauvage, remportait le César du meilleur espoir masculin pour son rôle de Malony dans La Tête haute, d'Emmanuelle Bercot. En 2018, il chopait le Molière de la révélation masculine. Sept ans plus tard, il est à l'affiche de la pièce de théâtre Killer Joe, au théâtre de l'Œuvre (Paris), et il arrive avec une autre révélation: ce qu'il aime dans la vie, qui le fait se sentir exister, ce sont les sensations fortes, et plus particulièrement les sauts dans le vide. Mettez deux tours Eiffel l'une sur l'autre et vous arrivez à peu près à la hauteur de ce nouveau pont suspendu entre deux montagnes. La Chine vient de battre son propre record du monde de ponts. Construit en suspension, ce géant d'acier vert fluorescent permet de joindre les deux rives du grand canyon de la province du Guizhou dans le sud du pays. Un bijou de modernité qui fait de cette autoroute du ciel, un avantage politique. De deux heures de trajet, on passe à deux minutes. Le pont de la province de la province de Guizhou, construit en un temps record de trois ans, est bien en avance sur les prévisions. Une performance qui a son prix. On sait que les conditions de travail des ouvriers en Chine ne sont pas aussi saines et sécurisées que dans d'autres parties du monde.  Malgré les critiques, tous les experts reconnaissent l'excellence chinoise. En trente ans, le pays est devenu le champion planétaire de routes suspendues. De 3 000 ponts au début des années 80, la Chine en compte aujourd'hui près de 32 000, dont certains sont en cours de construction.   260 millions d'euros  Sur les dix plus hauts ponts du monde, huit se trouvent en Chine. Des records planétaires à haute valeur ajoutée. C'est l'avis de Mary-Françoise Renard, responsable de l'Idrec, l'Institut français de recherche sur l'économie de la Chine, qui y voit une forme de fierté et un message envoyé au monde entier :     « Je vois deux motifs de fierté. L'une nationale et l'autre mondiale. Pour moi, les Chinois sont fiers d'avoir dépassé au niveau technologique d'infrastructures (ponts, routes, rails...) les États-Unis. D'autre part, les habitants y voient aussi un avantage de vie considérable au quotidien. Dans leur immense pays, les habitants se déplacent beaucoup lors des fêtes et des vacances. Quand les familles habitent les villages reculés de montagne, comme c'est le cas pour ce pont du Huajiang dans la province du Guizhou, ces nouvelles autoroutes leur font gagner du temps et de la sécurité sur les trajets. » Trois kilomètres d'autoroute entre les deux rives, avec ce pont d'acier et de béton. Une construction rapide grâce aux nouvelles technologies : satellites, caméras, drones, nouvelles imageries informatiques... Ce nouveau pont chinois a des pylônes, et son armature est connectée à distance sur ordinateur.  Une maîtrise de la matière première et des technologies Ingénieure française, spécialiste des matériaux industriels, Sandrine Mansoutre a fondé la société Ecotoolbox. Suspendre une autoroute de quatre voies entre deux montagnes et une prouesse technique. Il faut pouvoir poser et faire tenir l'ouvrage, ce n'est pas facile. « L'avancée chinoise se situe dans la maîtrise de la construction ; de la matière première, telle que le béton ou l'acier, jusqu'aux outils technologiques comme les satellites, drones, logiciels d'ordinateurs. La Chine est capable d'extraire les minerais et terres rares et de construire vite. Et ceci, car elle a tout sur place : les ingénieurs et les milliers d'ouvriers. Pékin agrège tous les maillons de la chaîne de fabrication de ses ponts. Cependant, je pense que l'essentiel est de construire avec les derniers matériaux moins polluants et de faire plus avec moins, en total respect de la nature et des hommes », explique Sandrine Mansoutre.   Un pont simulé sur ordinateur grâce à la technique du « jumeau numérique »  Très coûteuse, mais très efficace, la technique du jumeau numérique est aujourd'hui reconnue dans le domaine du transport et des infrastructures. Les constructeurs indiquent à l'imagerie de leur logiciel informatique tous les aléas de la région de construction : météo, température, taux de sel, d'humidité, obstacles... Il en sort une image du futur pont, qui bouge à l'écran en temps réel, en fonction de tous ces critères. Cela évite d'avoir à détruire ou déplacer des ponts, car cela arrive souvent, bâtis au mauvais endroit ou abîmés, en raison d'imprévus. Une destination de vacances   La Chine optimise les transports en faisant des ponts une curiosité touristique. Ce pont suspendu en est la preuve. Des boutiques, des hôtels sont prévus dans la région. Symbole mondial de Paris, la tour Eiffel attire toujours les foules : 6,3 millions de visiteurs en 2024, soit presque son niveau d'avant-crise. Pourtant, derrière cette fréquentation flatteuse, les comptes du monument sont dans le rouge. Selon un rapport de la Chambre régionale des comptes d'Île-de-France, la Société d'exploitation de la tour Eiffel (SETE) affiche des pertes cumulées de 305 millions d'euros entre 2020 et 2024.Des années de crise et un manque à gagner colossalLa pandémie de 2020 a marqué le début de cette descente financière. Les fermetures liées au Covid-19 ont fait plonger les recettes : 52 millions d'euros perdus en 2020, puis 43,8 millions en 2021. Même après la reprise, la fréquentation est restée en dessous des prévisions : 10,6 millions de visiteurs de moins que prévu sur quatre ans, soit 155 millions d'euros envolés rien que sur la billetterie.Un monument qui coûte de plus en plus cherAu-delà du manque de visiteurs, l'entretien du monument s'avère un gouffre financier. La dernière campagne de peinture, qui devait protéger la structure contre la corrosion, a pris 14 ans de retard, entraînant une dégradation accrue du métal et des surcoûts considérables. L'architecte Boris Weliachew explique que la mise en conformité avec les nouvelles normes sur le plomb a encore alourdi la facture.Autre source d'explosion budgétaire : le remplacement de l'ascenseur Nord. Le coût du chantier a « presque doublé » après la découverte de multiples erreurs de conception. Et ces travaux sont indispensables : entre 2016 et 2018, près de 17 % des jours d'ouverture ont été affectés par des pannes ou interruptions.Des coûts salariaux en forte hausseLe rapport épingle aussi la gestion du personnel. Depuis 2020, la masse salariale a grimpé de 31 %, et le salaire moyen de 17 %. La SETE maintient par ailleurs de nombreux postes de caissiers, alors que la vente de billets en ligne s'est généralisée. Les rapporteurs dénoncent un système de primes généreuses, parfois déconnectées des performances réelles.Le président de la SETE se défend : selon lui, la présence humaine reste nécessaire pour fluidifier les files d'attente et améliorer l'expérience des visiteurs.Pour tenter d'enrayer les pertes, la Mairie de Paris a validé en juin 2024 une augmentation de 29 % du prix des billets. L'objectif : générer 139 millions d'euros supplémentaires d'ici 2031, date de fin de la concession.Mais cette mesure suffira-t-elle ? Sus majestuosos puentes hachos de hierro y acero se volvieron famosos en el continente. Entre ellos encontramos el que cruza el río Duero en Oporto, Portugal, de una longitud de 160 metros. Debido a sus muchos logros, a Gustavo le fue concedido el privilegio de hacer una estructura que representara a la capital francesa. Con su gran ingenio visionario comenzó la obra de 300 metros de altura. En seguida, las burlas se dejaron escuchar por los parisienses, quienes aseguraban que aquella estructura arruinaba la belleza de su ciudad. Entonces bautizaron el trabajo de Gustavo con el nombre de «Nuestra Señora del Chatarrero».Personajes distinguidos, como el compositor Carlos Gounod y el novelista Alejandro Dumas (hijo), hicieron por escrito su protesta contra la obra de acero. Un escritor muy indignado, Guy de Maupassant, dejó de vivir en la ciudad para demostrar así su desacuerdo. Sin embargo, pese a todas las burlas y los actos de inconformidad en su contra, Gustavo siguió trabajando. Finalmente, la obra estuvo lista, y dos millones de visitantes ascendieron a ella durante el primer año de inauguración de la Torre Eiffel. Aquella gigante estructura de hierro y metal de Alejandro Gustavo Eiffel, sigue en pie y sigue siendo motivo de admiración por los ojos de millones de personas alrededor del mundo. Hoy, el ingeniero Eiffel es conocido como el «padre de la construcción con hierro y acero» en Francia.Las burlas y los comentarios negativos suelen tambalear y hacer desistir a quienes no están seguros de sus metas.
