Hello, car wash! Mid 30's today…into the 40's tomorrow. Then a complete nose-dive back into the teens. Gotta get the truck to ShipShape today or tomorrow and get all that salt off it. Yuck. In the news this morning, we recapped President Biden's farewell address, updated you on the wildfires in California, talked about the Leinenkugel brothers trying to buy back the brewery in Chippewa Falls, and we talked about the homeless "drop-offs" happening in Eau Claire. In sports, the Bucks got a nice win over the Magic last night, and the Badger men's basketball team is keeping an eye on the situation out west as they play USC on Saturday. We looked ahead to this weekend's Divisional round in the NFL, and talked about Quinn Ewers declaring for the NFL draft. Also in sports, the College Football Playoff National Championship game is on Monday, Jim Harbaugh has a few medical procedures lined up for the offseason after a medical scare last year, NBA commissioner Adam Silver is apparently going to try and do something about all the threes teams are taking this year, and former Badger running back Montee Ball is going into the College Football Hall of Fame! We let you know what's on TV tonight and we talked to Office Cora about what's happening in the 715 this weekend. Plus, Sally Struthers recently had some negative stuff to say about the late Betty White. Neat story about a guy who bought a digital camera at a thrift store & tracked down the original owners after he found the SD card had over 1,700 pictures on it. Also, did you hear about the Bathtub Donkeys? Might need one of those jerseys! Talked about some of the fitness trends to look forward to in 2025. And if you're looking for a new job, Planters is looking to hire someone to drive the PeanutMobile. Coors Light is looking to give away a "Case of the Mondays" for the day after the Super Bowl, and Walgreens might be changing it's policy of locking certain items up. In today's "Bad News with Happy Music", we had stories about a nose ring caught on an office chair, a school that went into lockdown because of a squirrel, a woman who got some free weed at a Burger King, a VERY drunk babysitter, and a guy who really doesn't like high beams. All-American Badger running back Montee Ball returns to join Bernie and Perko to talk about being the honorary captain for this weekend's game against Penn State, his impressions on Tawee Walker, Cade Yacamelli, and the rest of the Badgers' backfield, his present and future in healthcare, and much more. Montee shares his experience playing football at a professional level as well as the dark side of fame that comes from success. Montee shares vulnerability with his struggles with addiction and provides moments in his life that he considers “the basement” of his rock bottom and what he did to make his way back. Montee is a beacon of hope for athletes in recovery and many recovery communities. Find Montee's book, “Nowhere to Run,” on Amazon for more information.
In this episode, Brandon Burns brings on Jason Friesema as well as Lauren Atencio to open a deep conversation into the very important topic, outcome data. Our team transparently shares outcome data relevant to Peaks and the industry and takes the time to debate how these outcomes should be influencing our decisions within treatment and beyond.
Is the 2011 Wisconsin Badgers football offense, one of the best in recent college history ? I talk about why the 2011 offense isn't talked about nearly enough with every offensive player being drafted or signed by an NFL team. The backfield with Montee Ball and Melvin Gordon, a stacked offensive line led my two first round picks and elite QB play with Russell Wilson combined to make this offense nightmare fuel for opposing defenses.I also talk about the pain and misery that came out of the Michigan State hail mary and why it might have cost the Badgers a shot at the national title.
