You've heard us share our travel stories and tips, but today we're introducing you to three incredible women who help make Travel Mom Squad possible. Megan, Traci, and Claire aren't just our teammates—they're passionate travelers and moms with their own inspiring journeys in the world of points and miles. In this episode, we dive into how they got started, their favorite travel wins, and what keeps them motivated to help families travel better. Hit play to hear their stories! Megan: From Student to Digital Manager Megan is the glue that holds our team together, managing everything from card consultations to staying on top of the best credit card offers. A longtime points and miles enthusiast, Megan took her first points-funded trip to China in 2014, booking round-trip flights and two weeks of hotels for free! Fast forward to today, and she's orchestrating epic family adventures, including a two-week trip to Hawaii and Australia. Her advice? Don't be afraid to expand your plans. As Megan says, “We were already halfway to Australia, so why not go all the way?” Traci: The Fact-Checking Pro Traci's role is all about keeping our blog and content accurate and compliant, but her travel experience is just as impressive. She's been in the points and miles game for over a decade and even introduced Jess to this world! Traci shared highlights from her family's DIY around-the-world trip, pieced together with points and miles. From art tours in Milan to a luxury cruise in Ha Long Bay, Traci's travel philosophy is all about maximizing memories while balancing practicality. And yes, she admits economy ankles are real—but so is the joy of exploring new destinations! Claire: Building Memories with Birthday Trips As our Facebook community manager, Claire is a familiar face to anyone in our group. But did you know she started her points journey by buying Travel Mom Squad's course for herself? Since then, Claire has turned family birthdays into opportunities for travel. Her next adventure? Taking her oldest to London and Paris for senior photos—a dream trip made possible with points. The Takeaway: Your Team, Your Inspiration What makes Travel Mom Squad special isn't just the places we've been—it's the team behind the scenes, working to help you unlock the magic of points and miles.  Whether you're new to points or a seasoned pro, this episode will inspire you to dream big, plan smart, and keep making memories with your family. We can't believe it—Travel Mom Squad has hit 100 episodes! For this milestone, we wanted to do something extra special, so we put a question box on Instagram and let you take the lead on what we'd cover. From travel pet peeves to our all-time favorite destinations, we're answering it all with our first-ever video podcast. Yes, you read that right! Now, you can join us on YouTube and see all our expressions as we talk about the good, the bad, and the hilarious moments of family travel. In this episode, we get personal with questions like, What's your biggest “ick” when flying? You'll hear all about Jess's headphone policy, Alex's boarding gate crowding frustrations, and Pam's polite plea for more airplane etiquette. We laughed so hard sharing our biggest annoyances, but the truth is, these little quirks come up every trip. If you've traveled with kids, partners, or even just your own carry-on, you'll be nodding along! Ever wondered if travel creators like us ever truly unplug? Or maybe you're curious about how we balance making memories with capturing content. We're spilling the secrets! It's true: even when we're “off,” we're probably snapping a few photos or jotting down tips, but we also cherish those quiet moments with our families. There's always a balance, and in this episode, we talk about how each of us keeps travel feeling like an adventure. Of course, a Travel Mom Squad Q&A wouldn't be complete without diving into our points and miles obsession. We each reveal how many Hyatt points we've redeemed in 2024—Jess's total might blow your mind! We share why Hyatt is our go-to and the incredible places points have taken us this year, from Japan to Costa Rica. But we also get real about the redemptions that weren't so dreamy. Think Venice in the rain and unexpected Kuala Lumpur heatwaves. Lastly, we're opening up about the business side of Travel Mom Squad. From affiliate links to digital courses, we explain how we keep the show running and offer advice for anyone hoping to turn their passion into a career. Whether you're a travel fanatic or just love hearing behind-the-scenes insights, this episode is packed with everything that makes family travel so inspiring—and sometimes unpredictable! I've worn many hats throughout my life but Motherhood is by far the hardest but in the best way. These days you can catch me trying to look composed as I run a small fitness franchise, raise my kiddos, and find time for self-care. Prior to becoming a business owner and Mom I was working full-time in the film industry, decorating sets for television. Honestly, It was a career that I worked my butt off to get into, it was a 6 figure job with amazing benefits and I was good at it! When Parker, my oldest daughter, came into the world, the passions in my heart shifted from becoming an Emmy-winning decorator to being a Mom! My heart was now outside of my body and I needed to make a shift.During my maternity leave, I found an amazing fitness program that was tailored to moms who could work out with their kiddos in tow, It was called FIT4MOM. I was so scared to go to the first class that I had Michael come sit on the bench at the park just in case Parker was crying or something (postpartum anxiety is real y'all). I signed up for a membership and started going to classes as often as I could, it became a routine for Parker and me to head to the park. She would often nap in the stroller while I was able to workout, but it was more than that; I was able to have conversations with other women who were going through similar situations and phases of life that I was, and I was able to have a new form of self-care and a bonding experience for me and my daughter. I had instant community and a village that was with me through everything, including the diagnosis of a rare disease in my youngest daughter, River. I never felt alone, FIT4MOM was there to lift me up and hold me close (even during the pandemic mind you) When I was offered the opportunity to take over the franchise I almost didn't hesitate, I didn't know the first thing about running a business but I knew a lot about leadership, mom life, and fitness. So I jumped in, and it's been a hell of a ride, but for sure one worth waiting in line for!”Fit4Mom  is the country's largest fitness program for moms offering pre and post-natal fitness classes for every stage of motherhood. Public? Private? Homeschool? What is a parent to do?   Mandy Hayes from THE MOM SQUAD joins us today.  Mom to 3 daughters, she and her husband Marcus live in the Houston area, are in ministry and are treating this decision as a yearly one.  Because they are in ministry, Marcus is lead pastor of Crossroads Baptist Church in The Woodlands, TX, they have lived in several places, and they've chosen schooling for their daughters that have best suited them at that time and place.     Mandy taught in the Chicago public school system for many years.  Her daughters are in a hybrid, Christian school program now.  She has also homeschooled them in prior years.  So, her experience with each option is vast.  And she's passionate about it.     The thing we need to remember is that God is in it all.  As Believers, wherever we go, God goes.  So, we should not fear these decisions.  We pray, trust, and go.     Mandy is the author of, “Promise Me You'll Always be 3!” She has previously been a guest on The Wonder Podcast.  Thank you for joining us, Mandy!    Thank you for listening! How old it too young for a cell phone? That's the question we're asking today, and we're joined by Becky Leach, Mom Squad member, and mom to Brady, Charlotte, and Landry, 14, 12, and 8. Becky shares their experiences, guidelines, contracts, rules, and all the things! It's a lot y'all.  As you know, this is a loaded topic and HOT BUTTON, but we talk about it anyway! Cell phones aren't going anywhere.     The decision to give your child a cell phone is usually a hard one.  Why? Because you're not giving them a landline connected to a wall in the hub of your home.  You're giving them a computer that talks, texts, and does research and they can take it wherever they go.  Therein lies the problem and struggle.  So, figuring out how cell phones fit into your family is what each family must decide and we as parents need to stay in our lane and make decisions that might not look like our neighbors.  (Too much opinion? Oops!)    “We must trust our kids enough to let them fail.  Then teach them how to rebound and get it right the next time.”    This was a good, thought-provoking conversation including a discussion about knowing in our gut whether our child is ready for a cell phone.  In fact, a hard fast rule on age might not work because one child at 13 is different than another child at 13.     Thank you for joining us, Becky! We appreciate your honesty and vulnerability.  xo   Thank you for listening! We appreciate you!    Lisa and Chrissie   Hit subscribe, and please tell your friends! Help us share the word! Happy 2023!!! We made it!!!   We're hitting the ground running into 2023 with a slate of fun, interesting, important episodes for parents of all ages and stages! We hope you'll join every other week as we share new episodes of RAISING SINNERS.  Our prayer, as a team, is that we encourage, share hope and provide community for parents who love Jesus, want to draw closer to Him, and raise kids to follow Him all their lives.     In this episode of THE MOM SQUAD, we're joined by mom, Liz Steckel.  She's a wife, mom, and co-worker.  She wears all the hats and admits she likes to GO.  So, waiting, listening, sitting are her struggle.  She shared with us 5 “rhythms” her family lives out in order to enable them to reach the goals God has placed on their hearts.     We loved when Liz shared each day she strives to “speak life” over her husband and daughters.  With so much negativity and hate in the world, making your home a refuge of truth and life is a goal we can all work towards.     She also shared sage wisdom she received early on in her parenting, “…your children don't belong to you, they're entrusted to you.”  A.  MEN.  Our kids are God's.     We also share practical “goal setting” ideas that worked (or didn't work ☺) in our families, and how God truly does want us to have a vision.     Again, HAPPY 2023, and as always, thanks for listening! We appreciate you!    Lisa and Chrissie   Hit subscribe, and please tell your friends! Help us share the word! As an actress, comedian and Playboy model, Jessica Landon appeared to have the perfect life. But deep down, she was silently suffering from unresolved childhood trauma. Jessica began drinking as a pre-teen and didn't stop. She became so reliant on alcohol that it became “the only way I could survive in the world,” as she describes it. After experiencing a 16-day stay in the ICU involving multiple organ failures resulting from her drinking, Jessica finally made the decision to start her recovery journey. This week on Heart of the Matter, Jessica joins Elizabeth Vargas to discuss how her parents' support helped her heal, how laughter played a significant part in her recovery and her role as a co-founder of the Sober Mom Squad. Explore more on topics and themes discussed in this episode:Get One-on-One Help to Address Your Child's Substance UseHow to Identify Substance Use Disorder & AddictionHow to Address Alcohol & Underage DrinkingEditor's Note: The views and opinions expressed on Heart of the Matter are those of the podcast participants and do not necessarily reflect the official policy or position of Partnership to End Addiction.
