P&C drink and review Nugget Nectar by Troegs, then (starting about 4:47) discuss the Department of Government Efficiency headed by Elon Musk. The boys expected DOGE to be investigating and studying things until July of 2026. DOGE is supposed to be finding waste, fraud, abuse, and inefficiency, and it's off to a mad start, kicking down doors and taking names right from the start. So far, a handful of 20-somethings working for DOGE have found things that our professionals inspectors have missed. One of the first casualties was USAID, which seems to be nothing more than a mechanism for politicians to pay off their cronies. Jake, Stone and Jorge try and review a beer called the "Nugget Nectar". We pair it with 3 different taste tests of Certified Military MRE Meals which had shocking results! We discuss AT&T being hacked, Dixon Dallas, and actors who fit their roles perfectly. It's a JAM PACKED Episode (Pun intended)
The boys drink and review Troeg's Nugget Nectar, then discuss how men are stealing all the top places in women's rankings. While thinking about transgender ideology, the boys look at ... * Contradictions in transgender ideology * What "transgender" means * Can people be "trapped in the wrong body"? * Examples of how men are stealing women's thunder * Where have all the feminists gone? The gender fluidity / trans perspective is internally inconsistent, illogical, unscientific, and mind-bogglingly stupid. Pigweed and Crowhill try their best to inject some sense and logic into the debate.

Podcast 38: The Yearly Re-cap We do a year in review! (Shocker!) Everyone go check their untappd year in review and follow along with us! Dog friends Hercules and Jackson join us by destroying dog toys! Beer #1: Brut IPA - New Belgium (6.8% Brut *duh* IPA) Alex said the beer guy at Liberty beer said this was very forgettable. Very light body and seems under carbonated for the style. We talked about all our New Year celebrations. Alex had a rowdy time. Alex made some calculations about how much we all spent at Dancing Gnome this year (Hint: it's more than we would all like to admit) and our favorite beer people. Our first segment was about beer trends in 2018. - Sours were up first - Hazy IPAs were the top dog for sure - Milkshake IPAs Beer #2: Sparkler - Sixpoint (7% Brut IPA) Pours very cloudy but definitely has a lighter color and a lot of carbonation. Ryan discussed his favorite beers/breweries from his travels this year. Noble Creature was one of his highlights in Youngstown, OH. Alex had some fun in Cleveland this year. We all appreciate his discovery of Platform beer. Ryan recounted his trip to Jacksonville and how impressed he was with everyone in the chain restaurants having local state beers on tap. We explore the idea of online reviews and how much weight they carry in choosing your nightspot or food or whatever else. Segment 2: Favorite beers of the year! Sara: Underscore Passionfruit (Dancing Gnome), Stackhouse Imperial Stout (Charles Towne Fermentory), Permutation #52 (Trillium) Nick: Blueberry Cobbler J.R.E.A.M. (Burley Oak), Gnome's Soul (Barreled Souls/Dancing Gnome), Permutation #52 (Trillium) Ryan: dodged the question and said he liked can designs. Alex: Toucan Slam (Strange Roots), 3 Scoops Passionfruit/Lemonade/Mango (The Answer) Jake: Permutation #52 (Trillium), Very Green (Treehouse) Least Favorite beers: Sara: Mike (Magnify/DG collab) Alex: Lemon Ginger Saison (Platform) Nick: Gorilla Snacks (Burley Oak) Ryan: Nothing particular but he's not a fan of Christmas beers. Jake: His own homebrew was the worst, Backlash beers were very underwhelming, We covered the beer festivals we went to and the good/bad/ugly that came with them. From there we launch into some of the cool bars we visited this year. Segment 3: Podcast Trends Hairwatch 2018 - The story of one man's hair control or lack thereof Catchphrases - “Hello, and welcome!” Merch in 2019 - we're speaking this into existence Memes were fire this year. We hated some words this year Everyone chimes in on our love of Hitchhiker brewery and we're really excited to see what they bring in the new year. Our opinions were very mixed on them and we discuss our thoughts on what they should do. Dancing Gnome was up next on the roast. Some people think they need to sit on their beers a little longer. IPAs need to be fresh, but letting some DG beers sit in your fridge for a week allows it to develop differently. Jake joined us for the end of the cast, and even with good service his service still sucked. Segment 4: Looking forward - 2019 beer trends, festivals, guests and things Travel: Alex wants to get to Bend, OR, Columbus, OH, Ryan is going to Breckenridge, CO Dancing Gnome's Bird series (replacing the Flower series), Dead Sleep, Underscore and Black Clouds. Beer Fests: FreshFest, Dancing Gnome birthday party, Juicy Brews Late Night (Cinderlands/Hop Culture) Upcoming events - Nugget Nectar release this week! Grist House is opening a new location! Check their social media to get the scoop! Let's Get Munsoned - Breaking Brews No-Tap Bowling tournament 2/9/19 The wrap-up: Alex came out to Ryan first and then Nick and Sara which made for a good story. We all really enjoy putting this podcast on and really appreciate our newfound friends and cool people who interact with us. Thank you to everyone who listens to us and we hope you enjoy us as much as we enjoy all of you. Thank you all and cheers to great beers in 2019!
In Episode 44, we sit down with Rick Gillette, singer and guitarist for popular Scranton pop rock band Nowhere Slow before his two shows next weekend at The V-Spot in Scranton. The first is on Friday, Jan. 26 at 9 p.m., and the second is the Action for Jackson benefit for local musician Jackson Vee on Sunday, Jan. 28, an all-day event where they’ll play at 3 p.m. Action for Jackson, which will help Jackson pay his medical bills, features 25 acts at three different venues - The V-Spot, Waldo’s Tavern, and Morgan'Z Pub & Eatery - with basket raffles, a 50/50, and more. Before and during the interview, we drink Beer Boys crowlers of Nugget Nectar, Mad Elf from 2016, and Sunshine Pils by Tröegs Brewing in Hershey in anticipation of Beer Boys’ 18th anniversary celebration on Saturday, Jan. 20, where they’ll have 18 special brews from Tröegs on tap, including year-round, seasonal, limited release scratch beers, and casks that you can’t get anywhere else. We talk about how Nowhere Slow got started 21 years ago when Rick was in high school, why he has continued to stick with it all the time, the enduring popularity of the band, their name and his love/hate relationship with it, their four original albums and how the fifth is shaping up, making a living as a working musician, choosing songs to cover and whether or not there is still a stigma with playing covers instead of originals, changes to the local music scene and venues over the last two decades, performing outside the area in vacation spots, getting people to come out to shows, a funny story about a sound wave project for schools, playing to huge crowds on Parade Day in Scranton and some of the craziness he has witnessed, his best and worst gigs, the Action for Jackson benefit, his goals going into 2018, and more. We also answer some questions and react to comments from live viewers, which largely involve jokes and ball busting. In this episode, we falsely claim that Troeg’s Brewing was acquired by one of the brewing world’s big guns, but this is not true. Not at all Here’s the story. This makes me incredibly happy, even though I wasn’t initially super stoked by the label-art redesigns. They are beautiful, though. (If you’re ever in/near Hershey, it’s absolutely worth your time to stop at the brewery, eat at the exceptional and amazing “snack bar,” which is an understatement of epic proportions, and take the tour.) Sometimes I’m a crotchety old traditionalist, though…particularly when it comes to big things that I used to know and love when they were considerably smaller. So, Troeg’s. We had Nugget Nectar tonight (7.5 ABV, 93ish IBU). We did this post Lagunitas Hop Stoopid and Imperial Pils, which is becoming a bit of a tradition for us. Get buzzed on the Lagunitas, hit record, and bring that buzz to a drunk with a new brew. So, what is the topic today? We talk about absurd Twitter battles (…I know, the word “absurd” is entirely unnecessary and is implied by the following two words…) and misinformed bro-beefs. First, B.o.B. versus Neil deGrasse Tyson regarding the following question: Is the world flat? Really. It wasn’t a joke. I mean, it’s a fucking joke…but it wasn’t to B.o.B. (His Twitter profile leads me to believe that he also believes the moon landing was faked. Perhaps by Stanley Kubrick. Yikes.) This is a real thing that just happened. A fairly popular hip hop and pop music artist, that being B.o.B., claims that there is NOT irrefutable evidence that the earth is round; that, in fact, there is much conspiracy-theorist-nut-job-driven data pointing in the direction of human beliefs circa 300 BC. An actual scientist and also popular culture icon, that being deGrasse Tyson, argued with him. And the fall out includes several songs. Here’s B.o.B.’s. Here’sTyson’s. I don’t know, maybe we should prepare for the Armageddon. Next, we try to interpret the Wiz Khalifa/Kanye West Twitter battle. Think about that. A friggin’ Twitter battle. Not a physical fight. Not a drive-by shooting. Not even a verbal confrontation. Just two dudes, presumably of average intelligence, arguing with each other over a social media platform. About…really, it’s entirely unclear; or at least not worth any additional cognitive energy to explain here. Is this what we’ve become? When hip-hop hatred needs to be modified and telegraphed to fit the character constraints of an application? I guess. And through this entire thing, Jen ends up becoming a fan of B.o.B.’s flow and the producers with whom he works. Here we go…presenting to you, “#HipHopisDead.” Oh, the music! At the beginning, “Blues Music” by G Love and Special Sauce. At the end, “Hip Hop is Dead,” by Nas. And just below, the iconic image of the iconic Notorious B.I.G. B-I-G…P-O…P…P-A

In this action packed episode, the hosts delve into four tantalizing Tröegs ales. They start with the year-round options Troegenator and LaGrave. Satisfied with their choices, the hosts move on to the elusive Nugget Nectar, then finish with a Mad Elf they fortuitously saved from Christmas. In addition to the brews, Dan and Chris reminisce about their time at the Tröegs brewery, including all its delicious beers and foods, and thanks to his meticulous beer tracking via Untappd, Chris can pinpoint exactly when he's had Tröegs' rare Scratch Series. Since they were driving down Memory Lane anyway, Dan and Chris also bring up a film they made in their misbegotten youth, The Chronicles of Shirtfinder. For some reason that is still highly unknown, the hosts also say "cockles" a lot in this episode. A bit more on topic, they also discuss the Beer Bracket that Untappd has running, and bring back the segment What I've Been Drinking. Lastly, no episode of YBOH would be complete without a story from Dan on beers and bathrooms.
Hello there! We’re glad to have you back for the concluding installments of our serialized booze-a-palooza! To recap: One Friday night, several months back, Greg and Jen made their way through 7 alcoholic beverages and recorded mini-podcasts per drink. Previously, we presented, “The Belfast,” “One Miller Lite,” and “Mr. Burton Baton.” Today, you’ll move through the final four. As always, we appreciate your eyes, your ears, and your willingness to comment, to share us with your friends, and to keep coming back. And remember, the more you drink, the funnier we get. A World of Pure Inebriation, Part 4, in which we crack open a 64 ounce growler of Troeg’s Nugget Nectar, discuss a friend’s upcoming birthday, consider framing a very old British newspaper, and spread love to other wonderful people. For Greg, the official Head of Hyperbole, everything becomes “amazing,” and “incredible.” Additionally, the word “like” escapes his mouth so much one might be tempted to drown him in the Pacific Ocean along with a venue of vapid valley girls. We present to you, “20 Ounces of Nugget Nectar.”
A World of Pure Inebriation, Part 5, in which the Nectar continues to flow. Greg becomes the drunk man trying to articulate soberly, and Jen makes home made cheese crackers, a la “Cheez-Its.” Greg says, “Gelana Abaya” perhaps 5 too many times and Jen claims, “I’d rather you look like Guy Fieri than Donald Trump.” The Drunk Ducas close this one out strong discussing “The Coolest,” a bag of live chickens, and family alcoholic dysfunction. Cheers. We present to you, “20 More Ounces of Nugget Nectar.”
A World of Pure Inebriation, Part 6, in which the final 20 ounces of Nugget Nectar disappears along with both Greg’s and Jen’s sobriety. Greg becomes the drunk man who is assuredly drunk, and Jen begins her steady decline toward sleep. The discussion moves from home made didgeridoos and shekeres, to “The Weekly Pint,” and the fact that Jen wants a subscription to receive artisinal cheeses. Additionally, it becomes clear that Jen loves to fuck with Greg when Greg is drunk and feeling self-conscious and sensitive. It’s funny. We present to you, “The Final Ounce Down.”
