The Importance of prayer #4 By Pastor George Lehman   Many times, we pray for more things than what we are going to be willing and obedient to work and commit to. (We have promised and committed so much to God, but never really did much about it…) We need to be Passionate about prayer. James 5:16b (Amp) - The earnest (heartfelt, continued) prayer of a righteous man makes tremendous power available [dynamic in its working]. In our rapidly changing times, so many people are desperate to know what the future holds. With all these changes taking place – economically, astronomically, in meteorology, geologically, theologically, people want a peak into the mystery of tomorrow. They run to fortune tellers, astrologers, psychics who all claim to know the future.  These people can't better their own futures and yet so many people run to them…? Christians must realize that God condemns this demonic, fleshly probing into the unknown. He called His prayer warriors not to wonder about the future but to create it through the knowledge of His Living Word and Prayer. Our Father gives us access to the future right now.  You ask, “How do we know what to pray?” Jesus gave us answer: Matthew 6:9-10 (Amp) - 9Pray, therefore, like this: Our Father Who is in heaven, hallowed (kept holy) be Your name.  10Your kingdom come, Your will be done on earth as it is in heaven. We can look at the conditions of this world and be in fear and faint or look at the possibilities of God and be strong, courageous and take faith. Jesus calls us to pray for God's Kingdom to manifest* (made clear; obvious to eye or mind) itself in our world today. How will tomorrow look if God answers the prayer Jesus gave us? Just read the gospels.  What we see in the life and power of Jesus Christ is a faith picture of God's Kingdom. Jesus is our example of how the Kingdom looks and works. When we pray by faith, we can be absolute certain of our future. Remember: Romans 8:11 (NIV) - And if the Spirit of him who raised Jesus from the dead is living in you, he who raised Christ from the dead will also give life to your mortal bodies through his Spirit, who lives in you.   The strength of God Almighty is attached to our prayer lives. If the devil challenges your prayer, remind him that you are seated with Christ. Ephesians 2:6 (Amp) - And He raised us up together with Him and made us sit down together [giving us joint seating with Him] in the heavenly sphere [by virtue of our being] in Christ Jesus (the Messiah, the Anointed One).   Ephesians 1:21-23 (NLT) -  21“Now he is far above any ruler or authority or power or leader or anything else—not only in this world but also in the world to come. 22 God has put all things under the authority of Christ and has made him head over all things for the benefit of the church. 23 And the church is his body; it is made full and complete by Christ, who fills all things everywhere with himself.” Do you believe this? It will revolutionize your prayer life.   Notice:  Christ is the “Head” of the “body” and put all things under His feet.  This is such an amazing understanding of our role. What the head, Christ, has attained, the feet of the church walk out.  As we passionately begin to pray, the authority of His Kingdom enters our now-prayed-for-world. The devil knows that if he can keep our prayer lives silent, he keeps God's hand distant. When we pray for someone, we give God legal access to the life of the person we pray for and the devil cannot do a thing about stopping the answer.   Luke 18:1-8 (NLT) - “1One day Jesus told his disciples a story to show that they should always pray and never give up. 2 “There was a judge in a certain city,” he said, “who neither feared God nor cared about people. 3A widow of that city came to him repeatedly, saying, ‘Give me justice in this dispute with my enemy.' 4The judge ignored her for a while, but finally he said to himself, ‘I don't fear God or care about people, 5but this woman is driving me crazy. I'm going to see that she gets justice, because she is wearing me out with her constant requests!'” 6Then the Lord said, “Learn a lesson from this unjust judge. 7Even he rendered a just decision in the end. So don't you think God will surely give justice to his chosen people who cry out to him day and night? Will he keep putting them off? 8I tell you, he will grant justice to them quickly! But when the Son of Man returns, how many will he find on the earth who have faith?” Jesus was saying “that if we don't pray, we will lose heart”.  It's not about quick, emotionless, empty prayers. He wants for us to persist in prayer - to be a prayer warrior.   Isaiah 65:24(ESV) – Before they call, I will answer, while they are yet speaking, I will hear. God sees the heart, while you praying. Many Christians pray like wimps and brag like warriors.  The truth is that real spiritual warriors are Christians who pray. Prayer warriors are the most powerful, demon-chasing, world-moving Kingdom advancing people on earth. Prayer is stronger than kings and mightier than armies or diseases or principalities or powers.  Does this stir an excitement in you? Prayer is the most powerful force on earth.  Prayer anchors us in God's strength for our battles.  We know prayer works. NB! You are saved today because someone else prayed for you.   Luke 21:34-36 (Amp) – 34But take heed to yourselves and be on your guard, lest your hearts be overburdened and depressed (weighed down) with the giddiness and headache and nausea of self-indulgence, drunkenness, and worldly worries and cares pertaining to [the business of] this life, and [lest] that day come upon you suddenly like a trap or a noose;  35For it will come upon all who live upon the face of the entire earth.  36Keep awake then and watch at all times [be discreet, attentive, and ready], praying that you may have the full strength and ability and be accounted worthy to escape all these things [taken together] that will take place, and to stand in the presence of the Son of Man. Jesus is not talking about the rapture!!!  He is talking about us standing before God in a position of anointed authority. Prayer will keep you standing strong as the days become dark and evil.  The Lord our God in the midst of us is powerful. Stop thinking of yourself as unable to pray.  That's a lie out of hell!!! You are a prayer warrior! Now it's your turn to make the decision to be a life changing, Kingdom building, future creating prayer warrior. It's time to be passionate about prayer.

Jesus was praying in a certain place, and when he had finished, one of his disciples said to him, “Lord, teach us to pray just as John taught his disciples.”  Luke 11:1The disciples asked Jesus to teach them to pray.  In response, He taught them the “Our Father” prayer.  There is much that can be said about this prayer.  This prayer contains all we need to know about prayer.  It is a catechetical lesson about prayer itself and contains seven petitions to the Father.  Let's look at the first three of these as found in Chapter 11 of My Catholic Worship!Hallowed be Thy Name:  “Hallowed” means to be holy.  As we pray this part of the prayer we are not praying that God's name will become holy, for His name already is holy.  Rather, we pray that this holiness of God will be recognized by us and all people.  We pray that there will be a deep reverence of God's name and that we will always treat God with the proper honor, devotion, love and awe to which we are called. It's especially important to point out how often God's name is used in vain.  That is a strange phenomenon.  Have you ever wondered why, when people get angry, they would curse God's name?  It's strange.  And, in fact, it's demonic.  Anger, in those moments, invites us to act in a contrary way to this prayer and to the proper use of God's name.God Himself is holy, holy, holy.  He is thrice holy!  In other words, He is the Holiest!  Living with this fundamental disposition of heart is key to a good Christian life and to a good life of prayer. Perhaps a good practice would be to regularly honor God's name.  For example, what a wonderful habit it would be to regularly say, “Sweet and precious Jesus, I love You.”  Or, “Glorious and merciful God, I adore You.”  Adding adjectives like these before we mention God is a good habit to get into as a way of fulfilling this first petition of the Lord's Prayer.Another good practice would be to always refer to the “Blood of Christ” we consume at Mass as the “Precious Blood.”  Or the Host as the “Sacred Host.”  There are many who fall into the trap of just referring to it as the “wine” or the “bread.”  This is most likely not malicious or even sinful, but it's much better to enter into the practice and habit of honoring and revering anything that is associated with God, especially the Most Holy Eucharist!Thy Kingdom Come: This petition of the Lord's Prayer is a way of acknowledging two things.  First, we acknowledge the fact that Jesus will, one day, return in all His glory and establish His permanent and visible Kingdom.  This will be the time of the Final Judgment when the current Heaven and Earth will pass away and the new order will be established.  So, praying this petition is a faith-filled acknowledgment of this fact.  It's our way of saying we not only believe this will happen, we also look forward to it and pray for it. Secondly, we must realize that the Kingdom of God is already here among us.  For now, it's an invisible Kingdom.  It's a spiritual reality that must become an all-consuming and present reality in our world. To pray that God's “Kingdom come” means we desire that He first take greater possession of our souls.  The Kingdom of God must be within us.  He must reign on the throne of our hearts and we must allow Him.  Therefore, this must be our constant prayer. We also pray that the Kingdom of God become present in our world.  God wants to transform the social, political and cultural order right now.  So we must pray and work for that.  Our prayer for the Kingdom to come is also a way for us to commit ourselves to God to allow Him to use us for this very purpose.  It's a prayer of faith and courage.  Faith because we believe He can use us, and courage because the evil one and world will not like it.  As the Kingdom of God is established in this world through us, we will meet with opposition.  But that's ok and should be expected.  And this petition is, in part, to help us with this mission.Thy will be done on Earth as it is in Heaven: Praying for the Kingdom of God to come means, also, that we seek to live the will of the Father.  This is done as we enter into union with Christ Jesus.  He fulfilled the will of His Father with perfection.  His human life is the perfect model of the will of God and it is also the means by which we live the will of God.This petition is a way of committing ourselves to live in union with Christ Jesus.  We take our will and entrust it to Christ so that His will lives in us. By doing this we begin to be filled with all virtue.  We will also be filled with the Gifts of the Holy Spirit which are necessary for living the will of the Father.  For example, the Gift of Knowledge is a gift by which we come to know what God wants of us in particular situations in life.  So praying this petition is a way of asking God to fill us with knowledge of His will.  But we also need the courage and strength necessary to then live out that will.  So this petition also prays for those Gifts of the Holy Spirit that enable us to live out what God reveals as His divine plan for our lives. It is, of course, also an intercession for all people.  In this petition we pray that all will come to live in unity and harmony with God's perfect plan. Our Father Who art in Heaven, hallowed be Thy name. Thy kingdom come. Thy will be done on earth, as it is in Heaven. Give us this day our daily bread, and forgive us our trespasses, as we forgive those who trespass against us, and lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil.  Jesus, I trust in You.Source of content: catholic-daily-reflections.comCopyright © 2022 My Catholic Life! 89 When we come to the healing services, if you'll notice on the discernment in the line, it's constantly, “Tell people to repent.” See? There you go, till our prayers has become a tradition. We kneel down at night and say, “Lord, bless So-and-so, and bless So-and-so, and do this. And help John do all this.” You make God a—a mascot, or you make Him a—a some kind of an errand boy. “God, You do this. And You do this. And You do this.” That's not the way Jesus told us to pray. 90 He said to pray like this, “Our Father Who art in Heaven, hallowed be Thy Name. Thy Kingdom come. Thine will be done in earth, as it is in Heaven.” But we try to order God, what to do for us. 91 And that's the reason the church is cooling off. That's why the great revival that's just struck the land, has put millions into the church. It's, it, they have got to a place that they're using these experiences, and so forth, as a tradition, instead of being godly sorrowful, and letting the Holy Spirit do the work of His office within you, and creating in you a new life, and making you so hungry to go to church that you can't stay away from church. Then, that's what it is. Not to sign tickets, and join, and have so forth. It's to be have the Life of Christ in you, that you just longs to go. There is Something within you, pushing you. 92 As I was saying to a young man yesterday, in a talk, a little interview. I said, “I used to pass by a little spring, when I was a game warden in Indiana. And there was…” 93 It was always the happiest spring I ever seen in my life. Great springs in Indiana, they bubble up with that fine cold water, of limestone water. And one day I set down by the spring, to talk to it, just like I guess that Moses would have set, to the burning bush, to speak with it. And I said, “Little spring, what makes you so happy, that you're bubbling all the time? If I come here in the wintertime, you're bubbling. If I come spring, autumn, summer, whenever it is, you're bubbling. Is it because that maybe, perhaps, you're so happy that the rabbits come and drink out of you?” 94 Well, now, if he could talk, he'd say, “No, that's—that's not it.” 95 I'd say, “Well, maybe because deers come by and drink out of you.” He'd say, “No, that's not it.” 96 I'd say, “Now, well, maybe it's because I come by, once in a while, and drink from you.” 97 “No, that's not it. I'm glad that they all come and drink, but that's not the reason that I'm bubbling all the time.” 98 “Well, what makes you bubble like that? What makes you so happy, always gushing up?” 99 If he could talk, he'd say, “It's not me. It's something behind me, pushing me.” 100 That's the way it is with a Christian experience. It isn't something that you're trying to work up. It's something behind, working in you. It's Eternal Life that's moving up, gushing up. Like as He told the woman at the well, “It'll be wells of water springing up into Eternal Life.” It's something within the worshipper when he's been identified with Christ, because he knows that He is alive. But we don't want it become a tradition. 63-1028 - "Pardon" Rev. Selah - A Podcast by Koinonia Fellowship

As the apostle Paul is coming to the close of this letter to the body of believers in Colosse, he urges them to make prayer a priority in their personal and corporate lives. Their pastor was a man of prayer, for Paul would write: “Epaphras, who is one of you, a servant of Christ, saluteth you, always laboring fervently for you in prayers, that ye may stand perfect and complete in all the will of God.” (Colossians 4:12) Here is the apostle Paul, sitting in a prison cell, urging the body of Christ to make prayer a priority in their lives. When the church came into being on the Day of Pentecost, one of the daily activities of the church was to engage in both personal and corporate prayer (Acts 2:42). The Lord Jesus Himself as Son of Man was not only a man of prayer, but He also taught how important it is to pray and keep on praying. Prayer is one of the most precious gifts from God. For sure it is our Father opening up His throne of grace to us for help in time of need (Hebrews 4:16), but it is also that open door of communing with Him throughout the day. It is through prayer that divine guidance is given as we seek to walk in the will and purposes of God in our lives. It is through prayer that we approach The Father to receive cleansing and forgiveness when we sin. It is through prayer with one another that we find healing when we confess our faults one to another. It is during those times of private prayer that we take in the very presence of God and oxygen of heaven into our souls. It is during time of corporate prayer that we lift one another up to God. The purpose of prayer is to discover God's will, not mine. “Thy Kingdom come, Thy will be done, in earth as it is in heaven.” (Matthew 6:10) “Our Father Who art in heaven, hallowed by Thy Name”, were the first words of Jesus in His answer to the disciples request, “Lord, teach us to pray.” (Luke 11:1,2) Our Father. Prayer is a family activity, for the body of Christ IS a family. The church is not a business. The church is not a corporation. The Church is a family, and there is only One to Whom we go for help and strength and wisdom and guidance and direction. And we go directly to Abba in Jesus Name and for His glory. Reader, is personal and corporate prayer a vital part of your spiritual journey with Jesus? Selah

Reading is delivered by Mayolisia Ekayanti from Saint Anna Church in Duren Sawit Jakarta, Indonesia and meditation delivered Brother Linus, SDB from Don Bosco Theological Study in Manila, Philippines. 2 Corinthians 11: 1-11; Rs psalm 111: 1-2.3-4.7-8; Matthew 6: 7-15. OUR FATHER WHO ART IN HEAVEN The theme for our meditation today is: Our Father Who art In Heaven. This is the expression of the first sentence of the prayer "Our Father" which we know as the prayer of the Lord Jesus Christ. This prayer comes from the very heart and mind of Jesus, so it is definitely Jesus' own prayer. Of all the prayers of Jesus in the New Testament, this prayer is the one we know and remember the most. Why? Because Jesus taught himself this prayer to His disciples and all of usHis beloved followers. There is a particular question that arises from this understanding about Jesus' own prayer that can enrich our reflection, which says: if this prayer is Jesus' own prayer, then why does it say: Our Father... and not preferably saying “My Father who art in heaven”, to clearly emphasize the prayer of Jesus Himself? If Jesus himself had formulated it and then He surely used it to express His personal relationship with the Father, it would be inappropriate to use the pronoun “we”, which means involving people other than Himself. The Fathers and Leaders of the Church such as Saint Cyprian and Pope Leo the Great, in their reflections, say that Jesus Christ is an open and universal God. His teachings and prayers are also open and universal. His personal relationship with the Father in heaven is to be shared and becoming the same relationship among His followers. This prayer is a prayer in unity with Jesus to the Heavenly Father, to offer our confession of faith, to express our thanksgiving and torequest that He may grant our various needs. That first sentence of the prayer “Our Father” describes a close or intimate relationship. Jesus wants us to be so close to our Heavenly Father, and He had stretched out His hands on the cross to reconcile us to God the Father. The almighty God called as the “Father” is an innovation of Jesus. Before Jesus, there had been none of such God-man relationship like the Father-Son relationship. This unity of Father-Son relationship is a perfect unity and cannot be changed. St. Paul says this in his second letter to the Corinthians as our first reading today. This relationship really makes us so precious in God's eyes as we continuously receive blessings from the Father that fulfill our physical and spiritual needs. When we pray "Our Father" both personally and with other people, it's like a moment of opening the spring from the Father that flows all the graces to us. Our request for a miracle to happen can be made anywhere and anytime. What we need to do is to pray the "Our Father" properly, that is, first of all to glorify and to give Him thanks, and then to ask blessings from the Father. Let's pray. In the name of the Father... O Lord Jesus Christ, may every time we pray the "Our Father", we will always dispose ourselves in humility and in a joyful heart. Glory to the Father... In the name of the Father... --- Send in a voice message: https://anchor.fm/media-la-porta/message

I am with my family, sadly not all at the same time but in waves, Sandy John Sara Grace, Xavier, Teresa and Nick. We get up, go to daily Mass, hike big all day, cook great meals, laugh, have good conversation and pray the Rosary – well, that is whoever hasn't fallen asleep. This is wonderful vacation. But today I felt a little lost because I am off my normal spiritual routine of spending the first hour of each day in silent meditation with Jesus and Mary. I've had lots of time in silence on the mountains but its not my normal routine and place for meditation so I'm off my game. I have a handful of holy nuns that pray for me, and keep my out of prison and probably from hell. One of them texted me today and I share with her how I was a little lost. She gave me a piece of wisdom that should be lived everyday and I share it with you: “The heart of our prayer routine is to fix our gaze on the Heart of Jesus and that our deepest longing is union with Him. With this I should move through the day without ever leaving intimacy with Jesus. What happens exteriorly is just different scenarios where that intimacy love and union unfold.” Great wisdom right – I should live that every day and so should you! God is not only with us when we are at Mass, or in meditation or praying the Rosary. He is present with us at every moment. We just forget this. In the Our Father we pray: Our Father Who art in Heaven. The CCC 2794 says This biblical expression does not mean a place (space), but a way of being; it does not mean that God is distant, but  It refers to His supreme majesty, and power His presence in the hearts of the Just Augustine “Our Father who art in heaven” is rightly understood to mean that God is in the hearts of the just, as in his holy temple.  Jesus said to St Faustina, My Kingdom on earth is My Life in the human soul Diary 1784 Pope Benedict This is what prayer really is Being in silent inward communion with God This silent presence of God at the heart of our thinking, our meditating and our being is what we mean by prayer without ceasing St Faustina writes: The moments which are most pleasant to me are those when I converse with the Lord within the center of my being. I try my very best not to leave him alone. He likes to be always with us…Diary 1793 531-534    The mysteries of Jesus' hidden life Jesus spent 30 years in Nazareth living an Ordinary Life of prayer and work, friendship and family Only 3 years of public ministry Jesus spent 10 times more doing what you do day in and day out than he did in his ministry – WHY?   2 Reasons: Remember, Jesus is an eternal person, that means all that he does remains present, never slips into the past. In some way Jesus is still present living an ordinary life and because He is present in that ordinary life you can meet Him there at every moment of your ordinary life and live it together. It is not just the suffering of Jesus that we can participate in through our own suffering. We can participate in the prayer, work, joy and suffering of Jesus. Every moment of our life can be moments united to him if we just have the right desire – the desire to be united to him, present to him. The opening prayer of Mass each day this week says – love him in all things and above all things. CCC 533 tells us to    enter into fellowship with Jesus by the most ordinary events of daily life The 2nd reason Jesus lived this ordinary life for 30 years was to teach us - we are to live as sons and daughters of God and become Saints through the ordinary events of life Prayer Work – school Friendship, marriage, family Sickness, suffering, trials and conflicts  Living a well ordered and balanced life Friendship with Jesus, like any friendship, requires time and our undivided attention. That is why we need time in silent meditation each day with Jesus and Mary – talking, listening and being with them. But when we leave that time – they don't leave us, we should not leave them.

Welcome to prayer nyte let us pray..... Are you in the need of prayer? We can and will pray for ya..... prayer is all we need.... we can and will send up request 4 u.... Just believe in this..... I love u.....  The Secret of Guidance said, "The great tragedy of life is not unanswered prayer, but un-offered prayer." Instead of it being something we do everyday, like breathing, eating and walking and talking, it seems to have become like that little glass covered box on the wall that says, "break in case of emergency." It is true that so very often we associate prayer with crises in our life. I heard a story the other day of a man who encountered a bit of trouble while flying his little airplane. He called the control tower and said, "Pilot to tower, I'm 300 miles from the airport, six hundred feet above the ground, and I'm out of fuel. I am descending rapidly. Please advise. Over." "Tower to pilot," the dispatcher began, "Repeat after me: "Our Father Who art in heaven...'" Prayer is, for the most part, an untapped resource, an unexplored continent where untold treasure remains to be unearthed. It is talked about more than anything else , and practiced less than anything else. And yet, for the believer it remains one of the greatest gift our Lord has given us outside of salvation.

And do not lead us into temptation, But deliver us from the evil one, For thine is the kingdom, And the power, and the glory, Forever, (In Jesus' name), Amen" (FYI) http://www.jesus-is-savior.com/False%20Religions/Illuminati/occult_connection.htm
