Read OnlineI am the living bread that came down from heaven; whoever eats this bread will live forever; and the bread that I will give is my Flesh for the life of the world.” John 6:51Jesus was starting to stir up the emotions of some within the crowd. They began to ridicule Him because He had said that He was the “bread that had come down from heaven.” Thus, many of those who had sought Jesus out in hopes of another miraculous free meal began to murmur among themselves and ridicule Him. As a result, Jesus began to speak even more clearly and shockingly. He then went even further and said that He is not only the “living bread that came down from heaven” but that those who want to “live forever” must also eat His “Flesh.”How would you have reacted to such a statement if you were among those within the crowd? Consider the fact that you would have recently seen, with your own eyes, the miracle of the multiplication of the loaves and fishes. Therefore, you would have realized that Jesus was someone special, to say the least. But how would you have reacted to this statement of Jesus, “and the bread that I will give is my Flesh for the life of the world,” if you had heard it spoken at that time? Most likely, your reaction would have been the same reaction that you have right now to the teaching of the Most Holy Eucharist. Many who heard Jesus speak this way may have thought it was a bit of an unusual thing to say. Some would have reacted strongly, while others would have reacted with indifference. But some would have had an entirely different reaction. Some would have heard Jesus speak these new and shocking words, would have realized that they did not fully understand what He meant, but would have believed deeply on account of the gift of faith. Somehow they would have known, in the depths of their consciences, that they did indeed need to eat the Flesh of Him Who came down from Heaven since He was indeed the Bread of Life.Believing in the Eucharist, in the fact that these tangible and visible gifts of the Sacred Host and the Precious Blood are, in fact, the Body and Blood, Soul and Divinity of the Eternal Son of God, can only happen through the interior and transforming gift of faith. How else can you believe such a teaching? How else could you believe that these words in today's Gospel have come true? And that the reception of the Most Holy Eucharist is the pathway to eternal life? The gift of faith in the Most Holy Eucharist is the one and only way to understand, accept and deeply believe what our Lord has spoken in this Holy Gospel. Reflect, today, upon Jesus speaking these most holy words for the first time: “...the bread that I will give is my Flesh for the life of the world.” As you prayerfully reflect upon these words, ponder how deeply you believe them. How deep is your faith in the Most Holy Eucharist? The Eucharist is the fulfillment of this passage, and our divine Lord invites you to not only believe in His holy words but to allow this truth to transform you in ways beyond what you could ever imagine. My Eucharistic Lord, You are truly the Bread of Life, and all those who eat Your Flesh and drink Your Blood will inherit eternal life. I do believe this, dear Lord. I believe that the Most Holy Eucharist is You, Your Soul and Divinity, given to me so that I can share in Your holy life. Give me the grace I need to deepen my faith in the Most Holy Eucharist so that I will be drawn more fully into the joys of Your Eternal Kingdom. Send us a textOn June 13, 1929, Sister Lucia of Fatima received a mystical vision that revealed the true depth of the Holy Sacrifice of the Mass. As she knelt alone in adoration, the chapel was filled with supernatural light: the Cross, the Precious Blood, the Eucharist, and Our Lady of Fatima appeared above the altar in a moment of profound spiritual power. This Holy Thursday, we reflect on that vision—and what it unveils about the Mass, the Eucharist, and how heaven comes to us at every altar. The Catholic Church teaches that the Mass is Calvary made present, and Sister Lucia's experience confirms this in a breathtaking way.Whether you've followed us through Lent or are just joining, this reflection invites you to see the Eucharist with new eyes—and to welcome Jesus with renewed reverence.Support the showSupport this show and get all future episodes by email atwww.kenandjanelle.com

Around 175 years ago, a small village in France with a population of only 200 people was receiving 100,000 visitors each year. People would sleep in the fields and wait in lines for days in order to achieve the end of their visit. What was so important that they would make so much of an effort and go through so much hardship? What were they all there to accomplish? They were there to make their confession to a saint. They wanted to tell their sins to a saint, hear what he would say in return to them, and receive his absolution.St. John-Marie Vianney would read the souls of his penitents. He would weep over the sins confessed to him. He would fix the innumerable problems that sins cause and restore peace to troubled souls. Many people would leave the village of Ars changed for life.We do not have any priest here at St. Isidore's who have the ability to read souls or who weep when sins are confessed to them. You do not have saints for priests. But your priests have the exact same power that the Cure d'Ars had, the power to cleanse your souls from sin. In that confessional box, the main thing that was happening in Ars is also happening here: the washing of souls with the Precious Blood of Our Lord Jesus Christ.Despite the fact that you do not have saints for your priests, it is yet extremely important for you have a love for the sacrament of confession, that you have a devotion to confession. Our Lord came on this earth and gave His life for our sins. But His Blood only reaches us through certain channels. The main way for you to access the Blood that He shed for you is through the sacraments of Confession and Holy Communion. How many are there among us who like to go to Holy Communion but do not like to go to Confession? How many like the Blood of Our Lord when it comes through the Holy Eucharist but not when it comes through the absolution of the priest?

You cannot get there by force or effort of yourself, it will only lead to a longer time. The Holy Ghost is the Teacher. He is the one who is taking each and every life purchased by the "Precious Blood of the Lamb," Jesus Christ, and maturing them. No one can rush the maturing process seeing He is the one who oversees and undertakes every breath, step and beat of our hearts. There will be temptations from all sides to turn you away into intellectualism, or overspiritualization. None of which will ever get you closer to that "place" of maturing. It will only corrupt you. Do not ever think that even many of your failings are something to be grieved over for the rest of your life and lost time. Nothing is ever lost with and in Christ. The enemy will constantly bring them into your mind with cringing memory to accuse and cast you down. However, your life is no longer being developed by Satan but by Jesus Christ. The maturity only Christ will bring you to is full bodied and robust. Every mistake a person makes and repents for becomes a mighty weapon of terror against him that will defeat him. Do not think of running your race unhinged trying to gain more than what the Holy Spirit knows you are ready for. The whole life is prepared for Jesus Christ to be able to give you what your life is precipitated for. As you are agreeable and teachable, He will then begin to use your failings and shortcomings to teach others "the more perfect way." The way of His love. He is maturing you to the be "Polished stones" in the eternal temple of God. “Put together all the tenderest love you know of, multiply it by infinity and you will begin to see glimpses of the love and grace of God.” ― Hannah Whitall Smith, The Christian's Secret of a Happy Life

Powerful Message By Pastor Blake Andrews
ShownotesLast week we talked to Susan Brinkman from Women of Grace about necromancy, mediums and conjuring the dead and as our conversation confirmed God forbids these actions. Ironically, in today's episode we are going to talk about what the deceased want us to know about heaven and purgatory. But I promise you we are breaking no rules. As Susan pointed out last week there are disembodied souls waiting for us to pray them into heaven, but we should not try to contact them. In fact there are many Saints in the church who have had approved visions: Padre Pio, St. Tolentino, St. Gertrude, as well as mystic Maria Simma, whose writings about the souls in purgatory received the imprimatur. Souls who have come from purgatory have sought out the prayers of individuals to gain entrance into heaven. Yet the question remains: What can we learn from these souls? I believe the Church does not have definitive teaching on this, but what has been the speculation? 17:46 – Do you think there were sasquatches on the Ark? 19:56 – We say the Trinity is three Persons. I have been told, on inquiry, that these are not three “selves” as we would normally understand “persons”, but I’m also told that the Holy Spirit is the “love” between the Father and the Son, and that the Holy Trinity is a “community”. But only distinct selves can love each other or be in community; both of these, it seems to me, cannot be true. Can you elaborate? 23:54 – Is there any equivalent to Eucharistic Adoration for the Precious Blood? If so, why? If not, why not? 28:43 – What is the difference between feasting and gluttony? 31:49 – Someone w/ surname of Murray said the name meant they are descended from Mary, after she moved to France. (Pardon my French but WTH??!?!?!?!!) 33:49 – Make or dismiss the case that after the Resurrection, Jesus appeared to Mother Mary first and in private. 34:40 – What's a good book that talks about how the apostles died rather than denying the Resurrection? 40:10 – What’s all this about the red heifers being prepared for slaughter in Israel as fulfillment of a prophecy? 46:24 – Please give your feedback on this statement: “Receiving on the tongue is the default option.” 46:56 – What really is sleep? 50:35 – What does the Church state about forcing men to take psychological exams before being accepted to seminary? …
In this week's episode, we continue our conversation about leading with our God-given authority, particularly in our spiritual or biological motherhood. We talk about how God has blessed us with the Sacraments, Scripture, and prayer to fight spiritual battles. We reflect on the importance of rooting our identity in Christ, how Our Lady modeled feminine leadership, and practical ways to do spiritual warfare. We also discuss generational bondage, repairing trust, and the power of an apology given and received. For we do not wrestle against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the cosmic powers over this present darkness, against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly places. Therefore take up the whole armor of God, that you may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand firm. Stand therefore, having fastened on the belt of truth, and having put on the breastplate of righteousness, and, as shoes for your feet, having put on the readiness given by the gospel of peace. In all circumstances take up the shield of faith, with which you can extinguish all the flaming darts of the evil one; and take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God, praying at all times in the Spirit, with all prayer and supplication.” (Ephesians 6:10-18) Scripture for Lectio: “Only be careful, and watch yourselves closely so that you do not forget the things your eyes have seen or let them fade from your heart as long as you live. Teach them to your children and to their children after them” (Deuteronomy 4:9) Sponsor - Leanne Bowen: Today's sponsor is Leanne Bowen Fine Art. Leanne is a Catholic Artist and a stay at home mom.
