7/9/25 - St. Gaspar del Bufalo (1786–1837) was a Roman priest and founder of the Missionaries of the Precious Blood. Arrested and exiled for refusing to swear allegiance to Napoleon, Gaspar returned after years of imprisonment to a war-torn Italy, where he fearlessly preached missions in remote and lawless regions, often facing violence and death threats. He reached out to bandits, prisoners, and the spiritually abandoned, calling them to conversion through the saving power of Christ's Precious Blood. Known for his fiery sermons, unwavering loyalty to the Pope, and deep Marian devotion, St. Gaspar was a reformer who renewed the faith in one of the darkest periods of Italian history.

Topics include the similarities and differences between Catholicism and Latter-day Saint beliefs, a clear explanation of purgatory, and why only the priest consumes the Precious Blood during Mass. We also discuss whether purgatory is purification or punishment, the role of baptism in Christian unity, and the theological significance of the 1,000 years after Armageddon. Additional questions explore the Catholic view on salvation versus universalism, the Greek wording in Scripture regarding Jesus' “brothers,” and how to make sense of the brokenness in the world today—especially in children. Fr. Daniel Alloy, FSSP has served as Parochial Vicar at Regina Caeli Parish in Houston, Texas since July of 2022. He was ordained in June of 2020. In Today's Show: I was wondering if members of other apostolic churches like Eastern Orthodox, Oriental Orthodox, etc. are allowed to receive Holy Communion in the Catholic Church. If so, what are the conditions that must be followed? Why do we use the term “Godfather” when there is only God the Father almighty? Do our souls have a gender? At the resurrection, since our bodies and souls will be reunified, will there be any need for us to eat? I know that things like witchcraft and sorcery or anything dealing with occult powers is dangerous and wrong, but my teenage son is fascinated by magic, meaning the kind of magic that involves the art of illusion. Is there any danger in this? How are we not cannibals if we eat the body of Our Lord? Regarding the destruction of Sodom and Gomorrah, I've heard conflicting "reasons" given for that. Most say homosexuality, but I've seen people on YouTube make arguments for other causes. Which is correct? To join the FSSP these days, do you have to consciously reject the SSPX? In seminary, what's taught on the SSPX? When discerning, why choose FSSP? What happens to the laity if a church is declared schismatic? Houston heat and Tex-Mex cuisine! Is the name Yahweh specifically connected to God the Father or to all of the persons of the Trinity? Does playing board games with your family/children count as leisure and how can we talk to someone who desires too much leisure or recreation? I was at High Mass today for the Feast of the Precious Blood. Can you explain a little about the roles of deacon and subdeacon? Where is St. Joseph buried? Can you talk about what it means for women to wear veils, why the law was changed, and why you think it seems to be coming back?  30 Jesus therefore, when he had taken the vinegar, said: It is consummated. And bowing his head, he gave up the ghost.Cum ergo accepisset Jesus acetum, dixit : Consummatum est. Et inclinato capite tradidit spiritum. 31 Then the Jews, (because it was the parasceve,) that the bodies might not remain on the cross on the sabbath day, (for that was a great sabbath day,) besought Pilate that their legs might be broken, and that they might be taken away.Judaei ergo ( quoniam parasceve erat) ut non remanerent in cruce corpora sabbato ( erat enim magnus dies ille sabbati), rogaverunt Pilatum ut frangerentur eorum crura, et tollerentur. 32 The soldiers therefore came; and they broke the legs of the first, and of the other that was crucified with him.Venerunt ergo milites : et primi quidem fregerunt crura, et alterius, qui crucifixus est cum eo. 33 But after they were come to Jesus, when they saw that he was already dead, they did not break his legs.Ad Jesum autem cum venissent, ut viderunt eum jam mortuum, non fregerunt ejus crura, 34 But one of the soldiers with a spear opened his side, and immediately there came out blood and water.sed unus militum lancea latus ejus aperuit, et continuo exivit sanguis et aqua. 35 And he that saw it, hath given testimony, and his testimony is true. And he knoweth that he saith true; that you also may believe.Et qui vidit, testimonium perhibuit : et verum est testimonium ejus. Et ille scit quia vera dicit : ut et vos credatis. This Precious Blood was shed in the Circumcision, the Agony, the Scourging, the Crowning with thorns and supremely in the Crucifixion of our Saviour, and It is offered daily in the Sacrafice of the Altar.

Read OnlineI am the living bread that came down from heaven; whoever eats this bread will live forever; and the bread that I will give is my Flesh for the life of the world.” John 6:51Jesus was starting to stir up the emotions of some within the crowd. They began to ridicule Him because He had said that He was the “bread that had come down from heaven.” Thus, many of those who had sought Jesus out in hopes of another miraculous free meal began to murmur among themselves and ridicule Him. As a result, Jesus began to speak even more clearly and shockingly. He then went even further and said that He is not only the “living bread that came down from heaven” but that those who want to “live forever” must also eat His “Flesh.”How would you have reacted to such a statement if you were among those within the crowd? Consider the fact that you would have recently seen, with your own eyes, the miracle of the multiplication of the loaves and fishes. Therefore, you would have realized that Jesus was someone special, to say the least. But how would you have reacted to this statement of Jesus, “and the bread that I will give is my Flesh for the life of the world,” if you had heard it spoken at that time? Most likely, your reaction would have been the same reaction that you have right now to the teaching of the Most Holy Eucharist. Many who heard Jesus speak this way may have thought it was a bit of an unusual thing to say. Some would have reacted strongly, while others would have reacted with indifference. But some would have had an entirely different reaction. Some would have heard Jesus speak these new and shocking words, would have realized that they did not fully understand what He meant, but would have believed deeply on account of the gift of faith. Somehow they would have known, in the depths of their consciences, that they did indeed need to eat the Flesh of Him Who came down from Heaven since He was indeed the Bread of Life.Believing in the Eucharist, in the fact that these tangible and visible gifts of the Sacred Host and the Precious Blood are, in fact, the Body and Blood, Soul and Divinity of the Eternal Son of God, can only happen through the interior and transforming gift of faith. How else can you believe such a teaching? How else could you believe that these words in today's Gospel have come true? And that the reception of the Most Holy Eucharist is the pathway to eternal life? The gift of faith in the Most Holy Eucharist is the one and only way to understand, accept and deeply believe what our Lord has spoken in this Holy Gospel. Reflect, today, upon Jesus speaking these most holy words for the first time: “...the bread that I will give is my Flesh for the life of the world.” As you prayerfully reflect upon these words, ponder how deeply you believe them. How deep is your faith in the Most Holy Eucharist? The Eucharist is the fulfillment of this passage, and our divine Lord invites you to not only believe in His holy words but to allow this truth to transform you in ways beyond what you could ever imagine. My Eucharistic Lord, You are truly the Bread of Life, and all those who eat Your Flesh and drink Your Blood will inherit eternal life. I do believe this, dear Lord. I believe that the Most Holy Eucharist is You, Your Soul and Divinity, given to me so that I can share in Your holy life. Give me the grace I need to deepen my faith in the Most Holy Eucharist so that I will be drawn more fully into the joys of Your Eternal Kingdom. Jesus, I trust in You.Image: Christ Preaching By Rembrandt, public domain via Wikimedia CommonsSource of content: catholic-daily-reflections.comCopyright © 2025 My Catholic Life! Inc. Send us a textOn June 13, 1929, Sister Lucia of Fatima received a mystical vision that revealed the true depth of the Holy Sacrifice of the Mass. As she knelt alone in adoration, the chapel was filled with supernatural light: the Cross, the Precious Blood, the Eucharist, and Our Lady of Fatima appeared above the altar in a moment of profound spiritual power. This Holy Thursday, we reflect on that vision—and what it unveils about the Mass, the Eucharist, and how heaven comes to us at every altar. The Catholic Church teaches that the Mass is Calvary made present, and Sister Lucia's experience confirms this in a breathtaking way.Whether you've followed us through Lent or are just joining, this reflection invites you to see the Eucharist with new eyes—and to welcome Jesus with renewed reverence.Support the showSupport this show and get all future episodes by email atwww.kenandjanelle.com

Pick up a prayer, a mantra, and keep it going. It could be “Hail Mary, full of grace,” a prayer that rains down Peace and Love into your life. When you hold a prayer in your heart, it shifts the air, softens your tension, and reminds you that His Presence surrounds you. It aligns you with the truth that you're never separate.
