This is a unique episode where Max Vandenberg and I share the behind-the-scenes story of bringing Race Service and Ornamental Conifer all the way across the world to Germany for the Porsche Brand Store. We had the chance to sit down in person while we were there and talk about exactly how this insane project came to be, and how we pulled it off against all odds! Moments like this don't normally get the chance to have their story told after all the dust settles, so I thought it would be fun to share some of our favorite moments and stories about how it all came together. This is one of those episodes that is beyond special to me. James Kirkham is not only the co-founder of Race Service, but much more importantly, he is a dear friend and mentor who has changed my life for the better ever since the day we met. He has an incredible story of never giving up and dreaming bigger than anyone I've ever met! He's sacrificed just about everything in pursuit of those huge dreams, but he is proof that if you never stop and want it bad enough, anything is possible. For that reason, this episode is one that I will forever cherish. I hope you take something beautiful away from it. In our newest episode we talk to Loren Haleston, otherwise known as LoreninHD. A creative film maker by trade he first cast his lens over his friends' cars at drift events in the Pacific Northwest. His focus on telling the story while being behind the camera then pushed him towards his new career. Covering his friends led to customers reaching out to Loren to provide coverage of the drivers in Formula Drift as well as the series itself. However Loren did not stop at drifting; he has worked with clients that have flown him across the globe to cover the Gumball 3000 event. He has recently re-partnered with Race Service to help them cover the driver introductions for Formula 1 as he did in 2020. One thing is for sure with Loren is that he is never going to stop filming nor stop his creativity as he continues to push the envelope with his artwork.

“Famous” James Kirkham, co founder of Race Service and Donut media, takes us back to the roots of his passion for racing and the car culture. "Fake it until you make it" is a phrase James learned as a young intern in the music industry. This term stuck with him and as he got older and throughout his careers, he found became his motto. After his internship, James realized he was able to be successful selling high end real estate. He did that until he found it was just prolonging his true desires of racing. Thats when he took a leap of faith and dove head first into his passion for motorsports. Donut Media and Race service was born to answer the question of "why dont kids these days care about cars?" By creating digital content masterpieces that speak to todays millennials, Donut Media became one of the fastest growing automotive media companies in its space. From that, Race Service evolved growing and elevating the taste and style for the automotive / race culture. RS brings a more physical experience to the car culture with their coffee shop, apparel business, special events, etc. Check out some of the content mentioned in the pod here - "Famous James" Famous James - Instagram | Facebook Race Service - Facebook | Youtube | Instagram Donut - Facebook | Youtube Keep checking in for more conversations with the interesting people who have asked themselves, “What the F Am I Doing?” YouTube | Facebook | Instagram | Twitter
Back in February, when it was still safe to travel, Davin and I visited a media agency in LA. This isn’t like any other media agency though. They have completely flipped the traditional agency model upside down by operating out of a garage space which acts as a hub - connecting artists, innovators, industry insiders, and brands around a shared passion for contemporary car culture. By doing so, they have worked with the likes of Samsung, Michelin and most recently, Formula 1. That agency is Race Service and today we are going to chat with its co-founder and long-time friend, Jacob Agajanian. His wealth of knowledge will give you some insight as to what’s happening on the media landscape and tips you can apply to your own media strategies. Sam hosts the Maximum Driftcast with his pal Corey Hosford and now works for Race Service as a filmmaker. Oh, and he also hosts the Formula D halftime show, so not exactly a lightweight. He's a super talented photographer and hilarious human and harbors a borderline unhealthy obsession with British sailing ships, so 10/10, would recommend.
