What a week. After the excitement yesterday of the PK news, and the co-sanctioning with the PGAT (along with the DPWT), and what that could mean, we've got plenty to run through. And given that, we thought we'd kick off the show by chatting to Tour Pro, and Peninsula Kingswood royalty, Marcus Fraser about how it came about and whether the excitement levels are off the chart. Marcus reveals that there has been offers before for events at PK, but the board decided to wait for the right event, and that has paid off. Whilst the course will play as a composite, he is yet to have a decent look at the routing, however he said the excitement around the club is huge. For Hostplus, the AO at PK is our plus for golf this week.Mark questions why the even need the composite approach, which he and Nick discuss. This weeks BMW Touch of Class is easy. Last week, just after we recorded the pod, we heard the news that the legendary Brian Twite from Metropolitan had passed away only 2 months shy of turning 100. Mark tells a great story about getting in trouble from Brian when he (Mark) was a mischievous kid doing what mischievous kids do, and being chased by Brian on a motorbike on a golf course!Mark read this week that LIV are saying that they have a number of Australian sponsors who are interested, and Mark asks Nick - where have they been for the last decade ? On LIV, with rumours (unsubstantiated) of money not forthcoming to wrap up the season, what could that mean were it to occur. Mark read this week about the details of Jon Rahm's LIV deal, the numbers are mind-blowing, and Nick describes them as 'silly'.Nick and Mark discuss how it is disappointing that the prizemoney in Australia today, is pretty much what it was 30-years ago.It is US Open week, we touch on it briefly today - not because we're not excited but because we'll do a preview pod over the next day or two and get into some real detail about the tournament. We do discuss Shinnecock, and some of the adjustments to the course - particularly the widening. Nick describes this course as 'brutal'.After the turn, as if he needed another reason, Mark has found one to criticise the world feed over. Nick reckons Charlie Woods may well be on the bag in the US Open, that would be interesting.Nicks Top 5 this week for Betr, and he lists his Top 5 memorable moments from Australasian players, one player makes two entries! For Southern Golf Club, into feedback:Ron has a fun fact about Nelly Korda's win a week or so back, Ken and John each have some feedback on Marks 'Swatters' Top 5 from last week, we hear some great stories about Sandy Lyle. Lots of feedback on our video from The Furrows last week - see it here - Gards, Angela, and Pete loved it, Wolfpacker Mark has a question for our Mark about his putter, and Ali Whittaker, commentator extraordinaire, enjoyed Nick showing different shots for how different people play. And on The Furrows video, a whack from Soph for one team member who gets a little defensive over it.The overwhelming feedback was that you want more of that sort of stuff, so we think one a month might be good....let us know in the comments if you reckon that would be worthwhile (or not).Message, and a request, from Simon over the international feed, and Mark goes rogue and lays the blame for the international feed's very existence at the feet of one person. He names the person who he blames, and explains why he believes that said person is responsible. Ouch.Few more bits of feedback, Darren on the 3-club challenge, Dodgy on the 7-club tournament idea, and Stephen has what is essentially a crack at Nick O'Hern...!PING Globals from Nick, not a hugely busy week in golf, but a few things going on around the world. Mark read a tweet from Ryan at Monday Q on 'Why Cuts Matter' which he discusses, and Nick and Mark discuss the strategy behind attempting to qualify for a major. And for the Golf Clearance Outlet, Marks masterclass is on 'finishing balanced'.We're live from Titleist and FootJoy HQ thanks to our great partners:Hostplus, Talk Birdie To Me's official retirement partnerBMW, luxury and comfort for the 19th hole;Titleist, the #1 ball in golf;FootJoy, the #1 shoe and glove in golf;PING will help you play your best;Golf Clearance Outlet, they beat everyone's prices;Betr, the fastest and easiest betting app in Australia; The Find My Player app - follow every player on every tour; And Southern Golf Club. Last September, I was assigned to mentor Aditias part of the 4WARD Mentoring program at Rutgers University. She is asophomore studying Supply Chain and Marketing at Rutgers Business School. Afterour first Zoom session, instant chemistry. I marveled at her depth, brilliance, versatility, and eloquence. I joked that I felt like I was talking to aforty-year-old, not a sophomore. A huge compliment, I explained. The programrequired one mentoring session a month. We decided on one Zoom session a week. That's chemistry. And testament to Aditi, we bridged and leveled our sixty-yearage difference that first hour. We met in person when Aditi chaired a Diningwith the Distinguished event with the Future Business Leaders of America. Thisyear flew by. Aditi amazed. A most perfect mentoring experience. And thisinterview today was our last official communication. Hugely sentimental. Andthis interview is like the last 800 global interviews and videos I've done onConversations with Calvin. Best to watch and absorb. In the meantime. Some ofAditi's thoughts. Set boundaries. The importance of networking. Consistency inhabits. Sleep. Eat. Stay in the present (like the power of Now). Wanting tospend the day with Kalpana Chawla (the first woman of Indian origin in space). To give back. I didn't want this interview to end. I continue to marvel atAditi. But it's Saturday. A few weeks to finals.” Calvin

Whilst in Dubai producer Ben and I recorded a late night podcast before we headed home and it is all about Lee. Soph was busy in England at the time and we didn't want to miss the opportunity for me to reflect on my time in Dubai. Ben was best placed as he has been following me around all of the courts and of course Al Awir prison and he grills me on my short stay in the UAE. It has been quite an eventful few days with phone calls from Lee to multiple visits to the prison. This podcast episode gives you the inside scoop of what went on and my take on the outside noise. I went for answers and I want to see evidence of what people are saying. Learn more about your ad choices. Visit megaphone.fm/adchoices

Jen takes us back to 1920s America and the story of Henry Ford, anti-Semitic propagandist, Hitler fan, and all-round moral crusader who decided that owning the world's car industry wasn't enough. His next project? Buying 2.5 million acres of the Amazon rainforest to build a rubber empire and implant a wholesome, alcohol-free, jazz-free, union-free Midwestern town in the middle of one of the most hostile environments on Earth. The Soph brings the misery with a story from July 1999. Best friends David and Raffi set off on a road trip from Boston to California. A detour into Rattlesnake Canyon in Carlsbad Caverns National Park, with one and a half litres of water between them, goes catastrophically wrong. Hosted on Acast. Planning a vacation should be exciting—not overwhelming. But between choosing a destination, booking flights, creating an itinerary, and figuring out logistics, it's easy to feel stressed before your trip even begins. At The Travel Brats, we've planned everything from last-minute city getaways to international adventures booked nearly a year in advance. Over time, we've learned that the best trips happen when you focus on smart planning without overplanning every minute. Here's our step-by-step guide to planning a vacation the right way. 1. Start With Your "Why" Before choosing a destination, ask yourself: Do I want relaxation or adventure? Am I traveling for food, culture, nature, or nightlife? Am I recharging or packing my schedule? Your answer determines everything from budget to destination to daily activities. Helpful questions to research: Is this destination better for couples, friends, or families? Is it good for digital nomads? Can I visit without renting a car? Does it offer more adventure or relaxation? The clearer your travel goals, the easier every other decision becomes. 2. Set Your Dates and Budget You don't need an exact budget, but you need a realistic one. Consider: Number of travel days Flight costs Hotel or Airbnb costs Food and drinks Transportation Activities and excursions Most importantly, leave room for unexpected expenses. A good vacation budget includes a buffer because travel rarely goes exactly as planned. Also factor in important deadlines such as: PTO approval School breaks Weddings Special events 3. Choose Your Destination Strategically Timing can completely change your experience. Ask yourself: What's in season during my travel dates? Will weather affect the trip? Is it peak tourist season? How long is the travel time? Is the destination easy to navigate? If you only have a few vacation days, shorter flights often win. We've seen travelers hate destinations during crowded peak seasons and fall in love with the same places during shoulder season. Research matters. 4. Book the Big Stuff First Follow this order: ✈️ Flights

The Best Things About Survivor 49 Survivor 49 takes center stage as Rob Cesternino and Mike Bloom dig into the twists, cast shake-ups, and most memorable moments from a season that refused to play it safe. With a focus on what really worked in Survivor 49, Rob and Mike look back at the season's biggest format shifts, including the return of two-tribe swaps, the end of “mergatory,” and smarter journey twists that gave players more choices and fewer automatic penalties. This is the episode for fans interested in re-examining the wild moves and standout personalities that defined Survivor's 49th outing. Rob and Mike start by revisiting the game's structural changes, pointing out the excitement—and occasional frustration—surrounding the double tribe swaps, more fluid gameplay, and meaningful opportunities for castaways to interact. They take a closer look at the cast's breakout stars, especially Rizzo, Sage, Jawan, Savannah, Soph, and Kristina, discussing how their alliances, rivalries, and emotional moments shaped the season’s narrative. The hosts break down Rizzo's clever idol maneuvers, Sage's surprising strategic game, the legendary Sage-Shannon handshake standoff, and the snake bite incident, each giving Survivor 49 its unpredictable flavor.
