It's race week four of the 2025 Formula 1 season already and after three rounds it looks like it is already shaping up to be a Max Verstappen vs McLaren for the Drivers championship. Rhydon and Rachael break down last week's results and get their bold predictions on the board for the coming weekend and enjoy some great HVAC banter along the way. A dominant controlling performance by Max at Suzuka in the Lenovo Japanese Grand Prix see's the four time World Champion only a single point adrift from this season's favored champion to win it all, Lando Norris. However, there is proving to be no lack of fight or desire in Verstappen to push for his fifth in a row, and that is just the way we like it. Now it is time to head back to Bahrain. The home of pre-season testing this year, Bahrain had been the first race on the calendar for the last number of years but now it will be interesting to see who returns to the Arabian track with the best set up after several races to adjust their set ups. Red Bull are hoping to see Yuki Tsunoda find his performance quick as McLaren and Mercedes are already looking to take a commanding lead in the top two places of the Constructors Championship. Meanwhile Lando and Oscar Piastri will be heavily favored to come out on top at this high speed track and will hope they can return to the top of the podium and keep a determined Max at bay. Mercedes will be looking to sneak onto the podium, while Ferrari will be looking to bounce back after a disappointing start to the campaign. Enjoy the show and here is to another great Grand Prix! Max showed complete domination once again, taking his first race win of the 2025 season and cutting McLaren's lead in the Constructors Championship to a single point. We're still not sure if McLaren knows what to do with their drivers but we do know that Mercedes is loving the sneaky consistency from theirs. McLaren was on a smooth path to taking the title before all the Mirror Madness began. Yet in the span of a handful of laps, Lando Norris found himself at the back of the field. Teammates get connected and one receives a 5 figure fine. McLaren breaks a record in Qatar and sets the fastest pit stop EVER. Finally, Parker gets on his soapbox where he proudly declares his stance on track limits, and how the FIA president agrees to an extent with Parker. Producer Josh locates another meaningless points hypothetical to annoy Landon, diving into how dominate Max Verstappen is and how Red Bull could be Constructors Championship leaders without Perez. Important topics include those kiss activated trophies, the LAST open seat for 2024 and McLaren stealing the show. Congrats to Red Bull and their Constructors Championship even though we all know it was Max who did most of the heavy lifting this season. What's going on with Checo, you ask? After his questionable moves in Suzuka, we're all wondering that. Most importantly, Danny Ric and Yuki will return to the grid next year, but where does that leave Liam Lawson? Oh and also, Hannah found out some fascinating information about Mr. Max Verstappen that she just had to share, so make sure you stay tuned till the end to hear it.

Welcome to the latest episode of Track Limits Podcast, where Henny, Feven, and Mikey share their thoughts on the recently concluded Japanese Grand Prix.Following a disappointing race in Singapore, the Red Bull team was determined to reclaim their status as the dominant force on the grid. Max Verstappen took it upon himself to send a clear message to everyone in the paddock and the spectators that Red Bull should not be underestimated. On the other hand, Checo Perez endured what we believe was one of the worst races in his career, plagued by damage, unnecessary penalties, and rookie overtaking errors.Nevertheless, Max Verstappen single-handedly propelled Red Bull to the Constructors Championship with his P1 finish and has a chance to secure the Drivers Championship during the upcoming Sprint Race in Qatar. This performance underscores the gap between Max and Checo, raising questions about whether Red Bull will retain this duo in the upcoming season.Oscar Piastri entered the weekend with a clear goal – to secure a podium finish. With the aid of new upgrades, he qualified in P2 and ultimately finished the race in P3. What initially appeared to be a challenging season for McLaren is evolving into one of the most remarkable improvements on the grid. With several races on the horizon, the McLaren car seems well-suited to narrow the gap to Aston Martin and secure P4 in the Constructors' standings.Mercedes took center stage with a captivating battle between their drivers, a situation that could have ended disastrously for the team. Meanwhile, Ferrari had a more low-key weekend but managed to achieve a respectable P4 and P6 finish. All eyes are now fixed on the intense rivalry between Mercedes and Ferrari as they vie for the coveted P2 position in the Constructors' standings. As the Qatar Grand Prix approaches, McLaren aims to maintain their strong performance and secure another podium finish, while Ferrari and Mercedes will be diligently searching for improvements to enhance their performance and compete for that crucial P2 spot.Thank you to Wall Wings for sending us a custom Track Limits front wing. Where do we begin? The last 9 months came to a nail-biting end with Lewis Hamilton falling second to Max Verstappen. We had hoped for a drama-less race but, there are at least 2 calls by the FIA that raised our eyebrows. One letting Lewis Hamilton cut a corner and the other, a strange restart after a Safety Car costing Lewis the championship. Though the race is over, the battle is far from it as Mercedes is appealing the latter decision. There is a chance they may take this to the courts. We also saw all over Twitter that fans wanted Massi to get the boot. There are things to celebrate though! Max is the first Dutch driver to be named World Champion, Yuki Tsunoda finished in P4, Mercedes won the Constructors Championship and so much more. The final round of the World Rally Championship in Australia was cancelled due to the catastrophic bushfires which caused loss of life and destroyed homes. At times like these, sport takes a backseat to far more important events.  However there is still plenty to discuss as there was criticism for not cancelling the event sooner, whilst others thought it was an overreaction. David Evans looks at the situation from all angles. The Constructors Championship was automatically decided and there was impact on the driver market for 2020 too.

Welcome to Episode 7 of Formula 1 Grid Talk, hosted by George Howson! In this episode, George and the team will be reviewing the 2019 Japanese Grand Prix. In a race weekend that was interrupted by Typhoon Hagibis, it was the Mercedes-AMG Petronas who weathered the storm the best, overcoming a Ferrari front row lockout in Qualifying to finish 1st and 3rd and land their sixth consecutive Constructors Championship. In the process, the Silver Arrows knocked out any rivals to the 2019 Drivers Championship, ensuring the battle will stay in-house between Lewis Hamilton and Valtteri Bottas. In this episode the team discuss: Valtteri Bottas takes a relatively easy win Vettel did well to keep Hamilton behind, but was he lucky to avoid a penalty? Albon with a solid drive but did he deserve a penalty for his move on Norris? Carlos Sainz our DOTD, another fantastic drive from the Spaniard! Mercedes win their sixth Constructor's title in a row Leclerc with multiple penalties but should it have been more? Gasly with a solid drive, but he's out of contention for the Red Bull Racing drive Ricciardo and Hulkenberg both bring home points, but could Renault be facing disqualification? Sergio Perez bailed out of a spin with chequered flag blunder If you enjoyed this episode of Grid Talk make sure you subscribe so you’re the first to know when each new weekly episode is released. Sebastian Vettel could be missing a mentor at Ferrari. In fact, could Ferrari do better with a ‘real’ racer at the helm of affairs? We explain our view in this week’s episode of the [Inside Line F1 Podcast](http://bit.ly/ilf1ponkf1b) by comparing the pressures between a Formula 1 driver and the CEO of a Fortune 500 company. Also, we wonder how things could’ve turned out had Lewis Hamilton lost the World Championship in 2008; would Timo Glock be remembered a little less? With Formula 1 teams promoting young (or really young!) drivers in this era - has Formula 1 become a development series for drivers too? Finally, will Hamilton break his no-win-after-championship duck this weekend in Brazil? Tune in! (Season 2018, Episode 38) Here is what's in store for you this week: 0:00-3:00: That time of the year when remember Timo Glock; WHAT IF Felipe Massa would’ve won the Formula 1 World Championship in 2008? 3:00-6:00: Sebastian Vettel looks like he’s missing a mentor at Ferrari - we explain our point 6:00-8:00: Has Formula 1 become a development series for drivers too? Also, can Ferrari seriously win the Constructors’ Championship this season? 08:00-10:00: Can Lewis Hamilton attempt a switch to and win with Ferrari? Basically, do what Michael Schumacher attempted to do in his era 10:00-13:00: Haas should be disappointed if they finish 5th in 2018, agree or disagree? Can Williams survive without the Stroll money in 2019? 13:00-15:00: Should Formula 1 cars now have digital rear view mirrors? And, Lucien’s ‘Moments in Time’ section for the upcoming Brazilian Grand Prix! 14:45 20:00-end : Lewis Hamilton is yet to win a race after winning a World Championship; can he win this weekend in Brazil? _P.S.: We won’t have an episode next week; remember to tune back in the week before the 2018 Abu Dhabi Grand Prix!_ The Inside Line F1 Podcast, a top-rated podcast on iTunes, audioBoom and the BookMyShow Jukebox, is hosted every week by Mithila Mehta and Kunal Shah. Both Mercedes Drivers Got Lucky In Spa

Inside Line F1 Podcast

Play Episode Listen Later Aug 30, 2016 27:26

Yes, we’re the first ones to say it – both Mercedes drivers got lucky in Spa. Nico Rosberg won his 20th Grand Prix because of Lewis Hamilton’s grid penalties. In the same breath, we’ve got to agree that Hamilton was lucky to make it to the podium (from P21) thanks to the Safety Car period and the red flag. Though we wonder why Lewis Hamilton didn’t win the 44 lap Grand Prix, if 44 is his lucky number! Only 9 points separate the duo, which way will the remainder of the season go? Formula 1 returned after the summer break with a bang at Spa – it was a race of collisions and crashes (mostly into Ferraris). Was Vettel at fault at the first corner? Vettel should have a ‘How to Overtake Max Verstappen’ class with mandatory attendance for Raikkonen. Max Verstappen has been accused of dangerous driving, but of course the FIA won’t do anything about it. He’s THE crowd puller, at the moment. Though Niki Lauda believes that Max needs to visit a psychiatrist! Lauda says that he will call Jos if Max does not listen – Parent Teacher Meeting for the teenager in Monza? Also, did the young sensation not win the ‘Driver of the Day’ in Spa because his entire Orange Army was at the race track? Of course, Hamilton did find support in his Barmy Army. Force India love affair with Spa continued, though Hulkenberg may have been robbed of a podium finish. The team’s survival is in question if Sergio Perez moves teams in 2017. Maybe finishing 4th in the Constructors’ Championship will earn them the deficit. Will Kevin Magnusen be fit for Monza – and if not, will Renault make the popular decision of getting Carmen Jorda to drive? And was Fernando Alonso’s P22 to P7 more noteworthy than Hamilton’s recovery drive? With newer talent gaining popularity and faster cockpits, will Alonso have a chance for his final flourish at all? Over the summer break, we learnt that Bernie Ecclestone plans to sell Formula 1's radio messages (with a premium charge for listening to Raikkonen’s radio?). On that note, Minttu signed up for a lifetime of realtime Raikkonen humour! Hamilton hung out with Nicole over summer, and she was a real-life Pussy Cat (Doll). Also, our favourite moment of the summer break, Ricciardo calling bull-sh** on Hamilton’s tweet! Nico Rosberg has never won at Monza, will it be yet another ‘first’ for him? And will Hamilton equalize Fangio and Senna’s record for maximum poles? There’s a lot of Formula 1 this week and on our podcast, tune in! Ban The DRS, Not The Radio

Inside Line F1 Podcast

The radio ban is unfair, and Lewis Hamilton will agree. How can you expect drivers to race and solve engineering puzzles at 300kmph? For all the stupid rules Formula 1 has, DRS continues to live on. In this week’s episode of the Inside Line F1 Podcast, ban DRS and not radio, we say! And till then, Lewis will be happy to know that the radio ban does not extend to Snapchat! Formula 1 went wrong with their map, letting a country that’s more in Asia host the European Grand Prix. Guess money can buy anything in this sport! If Baku becomes a night race, we won’t get to see the pretty castles – through we are no longer sure if they were just giant print outs of castles? We also deconstruct the entire incorrect engine mode saga (Mercedes, so stupid). Formula 1’s favourite bromance has gone further downhill after Lauda openly criticized Hamilton’s race at Baku. Nico Rosberg is not just copying Hamilton’s car setup, but he’s also copying helmet manufacturers. Hamilton has managed to get Mercedes to sponsor his acting films, smart guy. But just what does he have to do to get Penelope Cruz’s attention? Sebastian Vettel should be appointed as the Official Joker of Formula One – as Bernie Ecclestone’s successor, we mean. Perhaps Heineken will consider a sponsorship with Ferrari because the team seems drunk all the time – they still think they can win the Constructors’ Championship! Vettel made Ferrari change their pitstop strategy mid-race, so obviously it’s him running the team and not Arrivabene. Could Sergio Perez have won the race if not for his gearbox penalty? Alonso is having a ‘luxury retirement’ at McLaren, is that why the team has just appointed a lifestyle partner? Lastly, Red Bull Racing had a forgettable outing in Azerbaijan, but it seems that Daniel Ricciardo chose to forgive and forget while renewing his contract. Or is this a hint that Ferrari will renew the always struggling Kimi Raikkonen? Tune in!
