The tournament's #1 seed following their regular season championship, UTSA relied on their pitching staff on the way to the tournament finale, but ECU's Ethan Norby blew through the UTSA lineup to put an end to their season. There's a lot to unpack, including the Roadrunners' performance in the tournament, not receiving an at-large bid, and what the program will need to get back to the NCAA tournament next season. For the second straight season, the Roadrunners are regular season champions. While UTSA had a very lack luster performance, winning just one game against UAB was enough to hand them the first overall seed and a share of the regular season title. Dan and Rylan recap the series and preview the conference tournament, as an at large bid looks to be increasingly difficult to attain. Video: https://youtu.be/XxXemwzoqy4

Sponsored by thegalindocollective.com - The bad blood between Texas State and UTSA spilled onto the diamond this week with the Bobcats getting run-ruled and then shoved by Roadrunners coach Pat Halmark in the post game handshake line. Plus, TXST football keeps adding new players, while men's and women's basketball have a whole new look for 2026 thanks to the transfer portal. Host Keff Ciardello is here to give the rundown.
Elmendorf city Councilman George Dziuk Jr. managed to snap photos of this elusive visitor to his property May 5. Roadrunners, known for their swiftness — they've been reported to run up to 26 mph — are good hunters, according to the Texas Parks and Wildlife Department, and are particularly fond of lizards and snakes, even small rattlesnakes. Circling around a snake, a roadrunner will rush in and stab the snake with its beak; repeated blows stun the prey, and then the bird can seize it or slam it against the ground repeatedly, breaking its bones and softening it. The Roadrunners' defense let them down on the road in Tennessee as Memphis took two of three from UTSA, snapping the Roadrunners' historic conference series win streak. UTSA's RPI dropped drastically after dropping two games, putting a lot of pressure on the Roadrunners to tighten things up to secure a regular season championship and limit the demands on their pitching staff in the conference tournament. UTSA's pitching depth showed up against Wichita State, helping the Roadrunners finally earn a conference sweep and protect their first place position in the American. After two strong wins against Tulane in New Orleans, it was a bit frustrating to see UTSA once again struggle to close the door on a series with a sweep but the Roadrunners did enough to hold a three-way tie for first place in the American. The Roadrunners will face UIW next in a game that unfortunately will cause a drop in RPI regardless of a win or a loss. Video: https://youtu.be/CV_n4EKaCzE
UTSA's incredible run of consecutive conference series victories continued last weekend after the Roadrunners took two of three games against the Charlotte 49ers. While the sweep continues to stay elusive, it was still a great showing from UTSA despite an injury to Drew Detlefsen. Next up is one of the most anticipated midweek games of the year as UTSA travels to face Texas A&M. Video: https://youtu.be/pKRivndlJcQ

In today's episode of the Wheeler and Tyler Podcast, things get a little awkward as the guys dive into a "Tone Deaf" Tuesday. Dave finds himself in the doghouse with his wife, Candace Rae, after some questionable singing (and perhaps even more questionable commentary), while Tyler is reeling from the heartbreak of having a prize snatched away from him. The duo also tackles the latest eccentricities of Elon Musk and the "do-it-yourself" spirit taking over Winnipeg, as locals viral for clearing their own frozen sewers with picks and shovels. From the staggering 15,000 federal job cuts to Ryan Gosling making friends with a mop on the set of Project Hail Mary, the prep sheet is loaded. On the sports front, the guys look ahead to the Jets hosting the Golden Knights at Canada Life Centre and recap the Moose's tough luck against those "pesky" Roadrunners. Plus, a look at the 20th anniversary of Hannah Montana and why the Blue Jays are officially moving from spring training to the regular season on Netflix.
The Dedeaux Download Podcast returns with Shotgun Spratling and podcast co-host Kasey Kazliner breaking down another unblemished week of action for USC baseball as the Trojans went 5-0 with midweek wins over San Diego State and Cal State Bakersfield along with a sweep of Washington. They also talk with the catalyst of the win over Bakersfield, senior outfielder Jack Basseer, who hit a walk-off two-run homer to give USC the victory over the Roadrunners. Basseer discusses the walk-off winner as well as his journey to playing for his dream school and how he's been able to improve his game in his second season playing for USC. After a break, Shotgun and Kasey take a look at the Trojans' five-game week noting three positives, including Mason Edwards' continued dominance and the contributions of bench players and deep bullpen arms have helped USC start another win streak after their 19-0 start was stopped. They also try to find three negatives after five wins. (Some tasks are more difficult than others.) Shotgun and Kasey close out the show taking a look at where the Trojans' stand in the rankings -- moving all the way up to No. 5 in one top 25 ranking and earning a first-place vote in the coaches poll -- before previewing the beginning of the toughest two-week stretch of the season for the Trojans.
