Elaine chats with Katch Holmes Creative Producer and Programmer and steerer of Knockengorroch Festival. We chat everything from the beginnings of the festival, finding your North Star, music and how it makes you feel and much more. KNOCKENGORROCH FESTIVAL 22ND -25TH MAY 2025 TICKET LINK Link to hear Kuchke Knockengorroch and The Green Gathering Two of the UK's longest-running grassroots festivals – Knockengorroch and The Green Gathering – are joining forces to create a pioneering partnership celebrating Celtic music, land, and nature. Launching at a time when independent festivals are under increasing pressure, Meet Us by the Fireside is a symbol of resilience and unity, offering festival-goers a unique opportunity to experience both events at a discounted rate. Green Gathering Tickets Knockengorroch Festival Knockengorroch Festivals were born from a love of the land, excellent roots music and celebrating the good times. We present unparalleled music, arts and workshops in a beautiful mountain riverside meadow. For us location is key. We are one of the most beautiful and unique festival venues in the UK. Our festival commemorates and celebrates the history and the people that once lived in our valley, in former times an entire village… We are a festival run by a family, for families, in the very broadest sense of the word. We support rural regeneration in the Uplands of Scotland, creating local business and enterprise, and attracting visitors to a still surprisingly relatively unexplored region of Scotland, our ‘Hidden Gem'. In times long past the native hills and streams of Scotland shaped its music. Stream becomes river, rural track becomes urban street, the musical landscape of today's global village is diverse, both urban and rurally inspired. But all music speaks a universal language. Knockengorroch establishes progressive linkage between sounds indigenous to its natural amphitheatre venue and the now far-flung Celtic diaspora, once rooted in such homely places. We promote multi-cultural forms and musical genres, highlighting the connection between roots music and the lands and people that created it. Music from all continents is presented alongside the best in Scottish talent to showcase music in both traditional and contemporary fields. It is Knockengorroch's unique remit not only to celebrate cultural diversity and fusion, but to make the music home amongst the hills once more, and give it up to the people. Katch Holmes Katch is a Creative Producer. She conceives of, synthesise and deliver international cultural activity, having worked in the sector for over 20 years. She programmes and steers the Knockengorroch music festival which takes place in the Southern Uplands of South West Scotland. Katch produces further creative projects that highlight people, landscape and heritage. For more details you can browse the projects page. She presents and represents exceptional music through my agency Off Site Productions. As a professional coach (Relational Dynamics ILM Level 7) she coach creatives to help achieve their goals. Katch is a director on the board of the Scottish Music Industry Association. She is a Clore fellow, having taken part in the Clore Cultural Leadership programme in 2012/13. Enjoys being a mum of a small human and a small dog. In today's episode, we have the first part of a two-part miniseries on risk management, risk mitigation and risk assessment in AI learning tools. Professor Rose Luckin is away in Australia, speaking internationally, so Rowland Wells takes the reins to chat with Educate Ventures Research team members about their experience managing risk as teachers and developers. What does a risk assessment look like and whose responsibility is it to take onboard its insights? Rose joins our discussion group towards the end of the episode, and in the second instalment of the conversation, Rowland sits down with Dr Rajeshwari Iyer of sAInaptic to hear her perspective on risk and testing features of a tool as a developer and CEO herself. View our Risk Assessments here: https://www.educateventures.com/risk-assessments In the studio: Rowland Wells, Creative Producer, EVR Dave Turnbull, Deputy Head of Educator AI Training, EVR Ibrahim Bashir, Technical Projects Manager, EVR Rose Luckin, CEO & Founder, EVR Talking points and questions include: Who are these for? what's the profile of the person we want to engage with these risk assessments? They're concise, easy-to-read, no technical jargon. But it's still an analysis, for people with a research/evidence mindset. Many people ignore it: we know that even learning tool developers who put research on their tools ON THEIR WEBSITES do not actually have it read by the public. So how do we get this in front of people? Do we lead the conversation with budget concerns? Safeguarding concerns? Value for money? What's the end goal of this? Are you trying to raise the sophistication of conservation around evidence and risk? Many developers who you critique might just think you're trying to make a name pulling apart their tools. Surely the market will sort itself out? What's the process involved in making judgements about a risk assessment? If we're trying to demonstrate to the buyers of these tools, the digital leads in schools and colleges, what to look for, what's the first step? Can this be done quickly? Many who might benefit from AI tools might not have the time to exhaustively hunt out all the little details of a learning tool and interpret them themselves? Schools aren't testbeds for intellectual property or tech interventions. Why is it practitioners' responsibilities to make these kind of evaluations, even with the aid of these kind of assessments? Why is the tech and AI sector not capable of regulating their own practices? You've all worked with schools and learning and training institutions using AI tools. Although this episode is about using the tools wisely, effectively and safely, please tell us how you've seen teaching and learning enhanced with the safe and impactful use of AI

Sermon on the Mount E13 – In Matthew 5:31-32, Jesus offers a quote from the Torah about when it is lawful to divorce, and then he shares his perspective. But what is the context of these words, and how would Jesus' original audience have heard them? It's easy for modern readers to miss, but Jesus is entering a longstanding debate concerning a passage about divorce in Deuteronomy 24—and his take is surprising. In this episode, Jon, Tim, and special guest Jeannine Brown discuss the story surrounding divorce in ancient Israel, the Bible's ideal of covenant loyalty, and the wisdom we can find in Scripture to navigate divorce in our culture today.View more resources on our website →Timestamps Chapter 1: The Context of Jesus' Words on Divorce (00:00-11:51)Chapter 2: Divorce in Ancient Jewish Culture (11:51-23:06)Chapter 3: Divorce Compared to the Genesis 1-2 Ideal (23:06-42:49)Referenced ResourcesDictionary of Jesus and the Gospels (The IVP Bible Dictionary Series) by Joel B. Sermon on the Mount E9 – What did Jesus mean when he said he came to fulfill the Law and the Prophets? In Jesus' day, the laws from the Torah were over a thousand years old. And the Jewish people under Roman occupation weren't able to follow all of the laws perfectly, leading to countless interpretations of how the people could observe the Torah. So what made this rabbi from Nazareth's approach to the law any different? In this episode, Jon and Tim discuss Matthew 5:17-20, unpacking its historical context, most perplexing phrases, and the greater righteousness that Jesus is introducing to his listeners.View more resources on our website →Timestamps Chapter 1: Short Recap of the Sermon So Far (0:00-3:03)Chapter 2: Interpreting the Torah in Jesus' Day (3:03-16:03)Chapter 3: The Sky and Land, the Least and the Greatest (16:03-28:14)Chapter 4: Jesus Differs from the Pharisees on Righteousness (28:14-34:27)Chapter 5: Righteousness in Matthew's Gospel Compared to Paul's Letters (34:27-40:17)Chapter 6: Introducing Jesus' Idea of the Greater Righteousness (40:17-47:18)Referenced ResourcesCheck out Tim's library here. You can experience our entire library of resources in the BibleProject app, available for Android and iOS.Show Music Original Sermon on the Mount music by Richie Kohen BibleProject theme song by TENTSShow CreditsDan Gummel is the Creative Producer for today's show, and Tim Mackie is the lead scholar. Sermon on the Mount E7 – What will it cost us to live like Jesus in our world? In the third and final triad of the Beatitudes, Jesus declares that the good life belongs to the peacemakers. But making peace Jesus-style will mean conflict, pain, difficulty, and even persecution. Sermon the Mount E5 – What does it mean to be poor in spirit, mourning, and meek? Jesus uses these words in the opening of the Sermon on the Mount, and the guys examine them in biblical Greek and Hebrew, finding that a better translation may be “powerless,” “grieving,” and “unimportant.” These are the people that Jesus believes will have the “good life.” How can that be? Sermon on the Mount E4 – What does Jesus mean when he calls people “blessed” in the first section of the Sermon on the Mount? The Greek word translated as “blessed” is makarios, and its Hebrew equivalent is ashrey, which means “the good life.” But there's another Hebrew word for blessing, barukh, which refers to blessings from God. Sermon on the Mount E2 – As a Jewish rabbi, Jesus was immersed in the Hebrew Bible, or what Christians often call the Old Testament. The Hebrew Bible tells the story of God working with ancient Israel to bring about his Kingdom. And in the New Testament, Jesus claimed that God's Kingdom was at long last arriving in him. In this episode, Tim and Jon walk through the three parts of the Hebrew Bible, showing how they connect to what Jesus teaches in the Sermon on the Mount.
