主播：Meimei（中国）+ Maelle（法国） 音乐：Easily-Bruno Major你有没有这样的体验？微信、工作群、邮箱、小红书、Instagram……各种通知不断弹出，一刻不停。我们仿佛生活在一场never-ending notification storm（永无止境的消息漩涡）。每天都很忙，回顾时却不知道自己真正完成了什么，忙但并不高效（busy but not productive）。今天我们就来聊一聊能够描述这一现象的科技领域常用术语——Signal versus Noise。01. What Is “Signal versus Noise”? 什么是“Signal versus Noise”？Signal：有价值的信息It means information that really matters. Noise：干扰，杂音It is everything else: distractions (分散注意力的内容), useless messages (无用的信息), things that don't really help.例如，你今天要完成的一份报告是“Signal”；而手机里不时弹出的热点新闻提示，就是“Noise”。These days, life is full of noise.“Signal versus Noise”这个概念在中文里常被说成“去伪存真”或者“过滤噪音”。英文中相应的表达是“cut through the noise”——穿过杂音，专注于真正重要的事（focus on what really matters）。Cut through：很形象，就像略过其他内容，直接一刀切入重点一样。如今，最稀缺的资源就是注意力（attention）。Whoever gets your attention gets your time (谁能抓住你的注意力，谁就拥有了你的时间). 02. Advocates of “Signal” “Signal”的拥护者（1）Steve Jobs: The Power of Saying "No"苹果公司的创始人乔布斯，就对“Signal”这样“专注”和“简洁”的信息处理非常重视。乔布斯相信，focus comes from saying “no” to distractions（真正的专注力是对分散你注意的事物说“不”）。90年代末，乔布斯在运营苹果公司的时候，就已经开始非常果断地对distraction say “no”。当苹果公司陷入困境时，乔布斯砍掉了大部分生产线——从几十种电脑精简到仅剩四种。这样用户一眼就能明白：我该买哪一台。这就是在减少“Noise”。乔布斯还拒绝在iPhone上安装实体键盘（physical keyboards），坚持使用一整块触摸屏。当时许多人认为这很冒险（risky），但这让产品更简洁、易用（much cleaner and easier）。这就是“Signal”——让用户体验更好的设计，简化复杂，保留精华（keep it simple and the best）。苹果产品展现了生活中真正的简洁（simplicity in life）。这不是偷懒，而是只留下真正有用的东西。（2）Elon Musk: Engineering "Signal"马斯克也常谈论“Signal versus Noise”，尤其在工程领域（in engineering）。马斯克也认为“Signal”才是真正让火箭上天的核心推力，而“Noise”只是那些看似忙碌、却与结果无关的流程。在SpaceX，如果一个零件只是“习惯性存在”，而没有实际功能，马斯克就会要求团队拿掉。Fewer parts mean fewer problems (零件越精简，出问题的概率就越低). 这就是高信号工程（high signal engineering）的思维。马斯克还讨厌不必要的会议（unnecessary meetings）——那种只有发言却没有实质性决定的场合。如果会议中你没能创造价值（not adding value），那就是“Noise”。他更喜欢小团队（small teams）、清晰的目标（clear goals）和快速的决策（fast decisions）。03. Finding Your Own “Signal” 找到你自己的“Signal”我们的工作环境（workplace）和生活环境中，会充斥着各种各样的“Noise”。Slack、邮件、微信群（WeChat groups）、无尽的会议（endless meetings）……我们总在被动回应（always reacting）。当你正在写方案时，突然被人@，便立刻停下来回复。这样一来，极其专注的沉浸式工作（deep work）也就慢慢消失了。我们似乎越来越难关掉所有提示音，安静地阅读、书写和思考。��How do we find our own “Signal” in daily life?① 先问问自己：“这真的重要吗？还是只是让我看起来很忙？”这被称为essentialism（本质主义）——只关注本质和精髓（focus on what's essential）。例如：你每天可能有十件事，但真正重要的可能只有两件。去做“对你人生真正有价值的事情（just have to do the right things）”，而不是“填满你时间的事情”。② 设立“无干扰时段”每天找出一个时间段，关闭所有通知（turn off all notifications），屏蔽任何消息的干扰（don't get disturbed）。③ 理清优先顺序为重要的事情排序（prioritize what's important）。��What's the biggest “Noise” in your life right now?对于主播Meimei来说，刷短视频、小红书和Instagram就是the biggest “Noise”，一开始刷视频，半小时就不知不觉过去了。从现在开始，或许我们可以turn the “Noise” down (降低) a little，让“Signal”更清晰一点，试着把注意力还给真正重要的人和事。欢迎大家在评论区留言：What are the most distracting “noises” for you?最干扰你的“noises”都有哪些呢？

Podgeek pratar om framtiden för podcasting med:  Jakob Svärd Nakna Entreprenören Mathie Martinez Tack För Kaffet och filmpodden Sevärt Lena, Podgeek P.O., Podgeek Jakob, nybakad poddare med passion för att skriva affärsplaner. Mathie, en av tre som driver Tack för kaffet, som hållit på sedan 2011 och gjort mer än 600 avsnitt. Mobil app och premietjänst med betalning har de utvecklat själva. Podcastens ekosytem, öppen RSS, vilken lyssnare som helst kan komma in och lyssna på vad som helst. Håller det i framtiden? Nu kommer pengarna in och det märks framförallt på Spotify som köper in poddare men också genom att komma med olika coola tjänster för poddare som håller till på deras plattform. Plattformarna vill låsa in poddarna. Kommer indiepoddarna att försvinna? Lyssnarna betalar med sina data, det är den som blir hårdvara gentemot annonsörer. När man lyssnar via app så registreras det utan att man vet om det. GDPR ger möjligheten att "opta ut" men det gör inte mobilapparna. Om data är den nya oljan så är beteende data är raketbränsle. Podcast hosting är ju ett vanligt samtalsämne, vi tar upp det också. Vi pratar om olika mobilappar och vad vi gör under tiden vi lyssnar samt vilka olika funktioner som de olika apparna har. (innan han lovar att klä av sig naken) Mathie berättar hur det gick när de gick bakom betalvägg och hur lyssnarna reagerade, men de stod inför valet att lägga av eller börja ta betalt. Lojalitet bland lyssnarna är otroligt viktig och den bygger man genom att svara på all kommunikation som kommer från lyssnarna i olika kanaler. Att skaffa en mobil app för sin podd är som att skaffa en tatuering, den går inte att ta bort. Lyssna offline eller streama? Hur ser det ut om 5 år? Mathie tror att det blir mer live streaming för poddar. Han tror även att video formatet kommer mer i framtiden. YouTube är väl bäst för streaming och podd för ljudlyssning? Jakob tror att det är en generationsfråga, ungdomar tittar på video, vår generation är mer vana att lyssna. Både Jakob och Mathie gör vlog. Mathie tycker att det är så spännande att man kan ha både ljud och bild samtidigt. Vad lyssnar vi på? Under Almedalsveckan träffade P.O. Tor och Klara från Signal Signal. Deras företag lyssnar på hundratals poddar och youtubefilmer och allt som sägs indexeras och görs sökbart i en tjänst som de har utvecklat. Kort kan den beskrivas som ett sätt för till exempel företag att bevaka vad som sägs i poddar kopplat till vissa sökord och fraser. Kommer detta att innebära att vi i framtiden inte kommer att behöva shownotes? Kommer ditt senaste poddavsnitt att poppa upp i google när någon söker på saker som sagts? Och kommer vi att bli tvungna att börja prata "sökmotoroptimerat" nu?  Här kan du se hur det såg ut i 360-format. I Veckans avsnitt gästar Tor Rauden Källstigen från den innovativa mediebevakninstjänsten Signal Signal vars tjänst gör det möjligt att söka på och analysera omnämnanden i talad media som podcasts, radio, TV och Youtube-kanaler.    Vi pratar om framgångsrika exempel på kunder som använder deras tjänst, vad Signal Signal kan vara bra för och varför det är så viktigt att bevaka etermedier. 

Poddar och YouTube-kanaler växer så det knakar. Men hur kan företag omvärldsbevaka vad som sägs om dem i talad media? Hittils har denna process varit helt manuell. Men start-up företaget Signal Signal har skapat en tjänst som per automatik scannar av Sveriges största poddar, YouTube kanaler samt andra ljud-mediakanaler. Vi träffade Signal Signals VD och en av grundarna Tor Rauden Källstigen, för att få en demonstration hur tjänsten fungerar och vilken nytta företag har att även omvärldsbevaka omnämningar i ljudmedia.
