Ren Cocktail of the Cast: Julep Zecca Italiana About 80% through the “Home Flooring Renovation” achievement Completed the new pre-expansion quest line on paladin - upgraded artifact from 75 to 126 Purchased a small one-handed gaming keyboard from DeLux - $30. Taking some time to get used to but may be easier to use than full sized keyboard when I’m one handed. Only real problem is maneuvering while flying Other issue: no English instructions came with it Mike I made a thing. I thought I needed things from Midsummer - nope. Did the artifact thing Poop quest :P Still need to do the mage tower This Week in WoW Midsummer Fire Festival continues through July 5 (Thursday) This Week: Arena Skirmishes; next week, World Quest Bonus Event Darkmoon Faire starts Sunday, July 1 News Pre-expansion artifact quest in Silithus went live this week Achievement: Crucible’s Promise - upgrades your artifact from 75 to 126 Several of the Silithus quests are NOT REQUIRED to complete this (but you can’t skip the trips to Stormwind or Orgrimmar) Only the quests directly from Nolan Speed (Alliance) and Grol Warblade (Horde) are required to complete the quest line First Horde quest: motivate peons; first Alliance quest, collect Mysterious Ore by killing goblins. Horde quest turns in to Grol. Alliance has turn-in for Mysterious Ore going to a dwarf, but then return to Nolan Speed to pick the line back up. From this point on, the main line is identical, Horde or Alliance. Pick up “The Twilight Survivor” from Nolan or Grol. Ignore “Desert Research” because it’s just a breadcrumb to an unnecessary gnome or goblin line. Pick up “A Recent Arrival” to talk to Khadgar, and this leads to the end. You can skip ALL the gnome quests (Alliance) and goblin quests (Horde) and the outhouse quest and it does not affect progress. These extras provide color and 18g but no rep or other rewards Confirmed upgraded ALL owned weapon artifacts, whether they are on you or in the bank When you have completed this quest, if you complete any other weapon quests, these fully upgrade as soon as you shift into that specialization Underlight Angler graphics do what the regular artifacts do and it shows TRILLIONS of AP, but doesn’t actually upgrade the Angler (AP yellow bar still shows proper amount of points. Display bug) Reportedly making the Mage Tower much easier to complete and sudden uptick in new guilds finishing Mythi and Cutting Edge Argus the Unmaker achievements. Mage Tower is now live 24/7 Forbes Interviews with Ion Hazzikostas Change in BFA: Prevent players from swapping gear in high difficulty Mythic+ dungeons - make it consistent with not changing talents mid-encounter. Mythic+ now requires complete speccing (talents AND gear) for the entire dungeon, which Blizzard now views as a single encounter. New Azerite armor Can’t be warforged or titanforged Only source that can be run repeatedly is normal or heroic dungeons Can be gained as a world quest emissary reward, but not from world quests themselves Can get as a weekly PvP or conquest reward, but not at the end of a match Mythic dungeons - not from box at the end, but only from the weekly reward box Clear tiers of Azerite armor Communities Will not be cross faction (“we’re at war!”] Yay Discord! Confirmed the following are all going away in the prepatch: First Aid achievements Ahead of the Curve and Cutting Edge achievements Violet Spellwing mount quest from killing Argus. Guaranteed mount drops from mythic Argus and Gul’dan in The Nighthold will become rare drops The Chosen title (killing bosses in mythic Trial of Valor without dying) Brawler’s Guild seasonal achievements Legion Elite PvP armor sets, achievements related to the Ashran battlefield and several other Legion specific PvP achievements Mentioned Fisherfriends of the Isles isn’t going away but will be a lot easier to achieve now that there are huge groups doing it Professions Professions system is “changing dramatically” Each expansion will have its own separate skill tier level Analogy: Pandaria cooking If you have 800 skill in a profession, you’ll be at 100 skill level in each expansion’s profession tier, and will start BFA as level 1 for BFA crafting. If you have 650, for example, you will have 100 through Pandaria, then 50 for Warlords, and no Legion Also means is that if all you want to do is craft items for Battle of Azeroth, there’s nothing you have to do - you do not need to get your profession to 800 - there is no advantage because all 800 profession skill level means now is that you will have 100 level in all expansion tiers short of BFA. Everyone will start at level 1 for BFA crafting and gathering. Question: how is racial profession bonus going to figure into this? Also means if you want to change professions, it’s a great time to do it. Ian’s advice: professions “extremely optional” to level up - “don’t worry about anything other than the Mage Tower”. No specific events planned for prepatch that will boost levels the way the Legion invasions did BFA kinder to alts? Only things specifically mentioned: artifact necklace will work for all specs - no having to develop separate necklaces for tanking, DPS and healing No class legendaries

(Speculate on best classes?) Nightborne: Hunter, Mage, Monk, Priest, Rogue, Warlock, Warrior +15 to inscription=, increased magical damage by 1, access maili for 1.5 minutes (cooldown 10 minutes), A Force Shield that deals arcane damage and snares them by 50%, lasts 20 seconds (no info on cooldown), 1% magic resistance Highmountain Tauren: Druid, Hunter, Monk, Shaman, Warrior charge that knocks down enemies for 1.5 seconds (2 minute cooldown), +15 to mining and faster mining, +1% to versatility, overall damage reduction by 330 (scale?) and increased chance to loot additional meat and fish. Void Elf: Hunter, Mage, Monk, Priest, Rogue, Warlock, Warrior 1% reduction of shadow and arcane damage, “your abilities have a chance to empower you with the essence of the void” (?), reduces void storage and transmog costs by 50%, spell casts not delayed by taking damage, and a built-in rift teleportation similar to warlock gating (2 minute cooldown). Lightforged Draenei: Hunter, Mage, Paladin, Priest, Warrior 20% extra xp for killing demons, +10 to blacksmithing plus summoning a Forge of Light on demand, reduce holy damage by 1%, call down a strike of holy energy damaging enemies within 5 yards after 3 sec, and “erupt with light upon death, dealing holy damage to enemies and healing allies). Speculation: Allied races are not going to be introduced in 7.3.5, but there are plenty of files being pushed to the servers about four of the six races, which gives Bliz the option of releasing them before the expansion. Thoughts? Original dry run of Leeeeroy Jenkins video https://youtu.be/8hmgrHohDGM From the Discord: How to do less damage for raid achievements, without having to de-equip items or gear: From @OPH on Discord: brought up there was a toy or shirt that used to exist that would reduce damage output by 90%. This is true. Whole Body Shrinka toy, which shrinks you down to a tiny size and does reduce your damage output to about 10% -- lasts for 3 minutes but has a 30 minute cooldown. Doing quests I have skipped, Frizzle Claw and Need for a cure, Lost but not forgotten, Encroachment.Logged on to Treshel, who has the Brewfest Ram and she got the vendor icon and was able to buy a level 60 Brewfest Ram for 100, even though she is level 56. And no ticket needed. So then I remembered I had gotten the Brewfest mount for Rilfire because I was tired of the Kodos, but then when she hit 60, she had to go get a kodos for the speed, well guess what, she went back and for 100g, she got a level 60 Brewfest mount, so cool!  By the end of Thu morning/afternoon, Trez, my new Orc Shaman was level 8. She and Cii are finally doing quests that both get exp and therefore RAF. Thursday I spent some silly time trying to do some quests in Durator. I got my Shaman to 10, but did some other stuff including brewfest in between.  Friday morning I did some more quest with the shaman but then it wasn't  Ashayo Running the Brewfest dailies on all 5 70's. Have bought every item there is, including two beer of the month subscriptions. Awesome!  Killed Coren Direbrew, over and over again. Saw the mount drop twice in about 50 kills. Even dual-boxed him a few times. Easier to dual box tank/dps than two dps or dps/heals  Ran ZA and killed the Lynx boss for the first time. Thanks DwP!  AIE's Guppers raid this week one shot Gruul, one shot Mags, and we did it so quick there was time to venture into SSC and have a try at Lurker.  Levelling Warrior/Shaman with friends ; ran RFK and thought we'd try SM ; decided Level 28 is a bit low :/  Glaciuss dings 60 in Winterspring! Headed to outlands, despite not having set foot in WPL, EPL or Silithus. Run Ramparts and got healing pants. I wonder what they'll be after 3.0. Made 3g on portal within 1 minute of starting to quest in HFP!  Craft Faire - got enchanting up to 320.  Stumbled on RP in Winterspring cave?  Email  Email 1  Subject: Love that Sexy Voice of your Aprillian!I am a long time listener and an avid fan of the Ctrl Alt Wow podcast and I wanted to say Thanks! Aprillian and Ashayo discuss another week of playing World of Warcraft, Blizzard's great MMORPG. The title comes from the fact that I have to go to a stupid family reunion . What We've Been Doing: Aprillian I don't know what to do, if anything, with Ardrion. I have a certain fondness for him. He was originally named Ctrlaltwow when I started him on the server. He is now 43 and at 300 in LW, 300 skinning and 275 cooking. But to do anything else, he has to get to 50. Right now he's good for making armor kits for my lower level Rilfire was fishing and not leveling, checked her skill window and she was 225/225. Did a quick search and found she had to go to Dustwallow Marsh and get a fishing quest. Surprised I hadn't done it sooner. She had to fly and ride to two different spots on both continents and fish until she got some speccial fish. Didn't take too long, just wish she had done it sooner and she would be levelling. Of course she got fish that she might be able to sell. Monday night I got a little treat. Palanor, Glanthur's level 22 Belf Paladin, logged on. I tripled boxed with my 3 level 19's, Pri Orc Rogue, Relaq Orc Warrior, Ishaq Troll Priest, and the 4 of us went to southern barrens to do the egg collecting quest. We died a bit, but it was my first time triple boxing this treo and doing multi boxing without any pets. I'm loving the priest and the resurrection but I have to keep her alive. I'm thinking I might want to bring up a warlock and put a soulstone on the priest. Because Palanor was higher, he drew aggro off of Relaq but I can see as we get up higher, Relaq is going to be fun to play. Wed morning took Rilfire. Pri and Relaq into Wailing Cavern. I wanted to level Rilfire's fishing from 225, but then realized Pri needed fishing too. I want to see if she can find a book without opening the crate Rilfire left WC with Fishing at 252. Took her to Falcon watch where she killed and skinned boars. Trying to do more outland stuff, to get Outland greens for Auntrillia Friday night and Saturday went to Family Reunion Thread in Instance forum berating multiboxing Rilfire went back to WC and got 17 pound catfish, sent to bank alt. 2Crazy level 10 belf hunter trying to tame level 11 serpent in WC Sunday night Ashayo EMA! (Extended Maintenance Again!) Decided to start the grind on Ashield and Asheal to get exalted with the Shattered Sun Offensive. Great way to grind for epic flying mount , plus the rewards are very nice for someone decked out in quest greens and some blues. Ashayo's raiding group has pretty much Magtheridon on farm status. Wiped on 3% because a cube clicker died, but downed on next attempt easily. Had the opportunity to play in the beta of WotLK. Completed the Death Knight starting zone. It's like an instanced area - can't just ride out. The mobs arn't static - there is a progression as the quests progress. Pretty much hit level 58 by the end, so straight to Outlands. AIE's Guppers (Gruul and unusual punishment) downed Gruul for the first time this week. And one-shot to boot. Gratz all round! Levelling shaman with RL friends. Run them through WC. Forgot to skill up on skinning, so was stuck at 75 the whole run. Ran out of time to do the escort at the end, so will be back! Fun to play with someone who has never played before. The Great Mail Cleanout Hadn't done it for a while, and was reaching the point of mail being deleted. Decided to level cooking on Hiide (2nd account). Had rediculous amounts of meat and fish on an alt, was just a matter of getting all the recipes. Mage very useful for that - porting here and there. The Aldor rise has a brazier - which can be used for cooking! Also, can land near the Scyer fire and use that - and have a Scryer alt get spices from the nearby vendor. Got up to 365, and ran out of high level mats. But still have enough to level another toon! Email: Email 1 Hello to you, Aprillian and Ashayo! Blade here... To hear my email read aloud over the interweb was... I have to tell you... an awesome experience... To hear great celebrities such as yourselves endorse what I have been doing was even more so! Y'all brought a tear ta my eye... =*) but... to actually WIN your contest! Man... is THIS what celebrity feels like? It's AWESOME! I promise to only use my newfound powers of fame for good, rather than evil... hehe On that note: 1) My address: Screenshots! As per your request, I have enclosed a number of screenshots of Tahrzaan's (mis)adventures in Azeroth... I'll send more upon request... I mention a few scenarios on the blog I have set up detailing Tahrzaan's journey, but sadly I don't have any screenies of some (the Isha Awak kill in Barrens, for example)... and now it's too late to kill him... As an aside, I was actually wondering if there was any tasks, hints, tricks or advice areas that you might feel could be an addition to your show. Oddball Stuff... or News of the Weird and Wacky... Or something like that... I will compile a list in the days to come and see if I can't come up with a whole host of cookies, "secrets" or other things to make peoples' experiences in Azeroth THAT much more fun... Like... - the fishing book that allows you to see 'pools of fish' on your minimap, and where to fish it... - the new fishing quests (like fishing up Mr. Pinchy) - little 'easter eggs' in the game content (like while fighting your way through the Deadmines to get VanCleef's head you'll encounter a Goblin Shredder. Kill it (and the goblin that pops out of it, then look at the dashboard on the Shredder. Unless they changed it, you'll see a familiar face: Kerrigan, The Zerg Queen from Starcraft: Brood Wars. She appears to be the ruler of the goblins as well! Other goblin shredders can be found in Stranglethorn Vale, Ashenvale and Gadgetzan. - or other off-the-wall ways of making gold in Warcraft (or you might keep these tricks for yourselves... but since your count was at above 2000g as of the last podcast, I somehow doubt you're overly-concerned about in-game finances...) If you think it'd make a good addition, let me know (or let's chat a bit so we can see whether personalities are compatible!) Thanks again for the callout in the podcast! My co-workers were looking at me strangely when I suddenly heard my email being read over the podcast... as I listen over my iPod, all they saw was me cheering at the ceiling and yelling 'Woohoo!' =) Thanks again for an awesome podcast! Blade / Michael thebladededge@gmail.com www.nakedmeleehunter.blogspot.com Email 2 Hey mates, Just listened to the podcast... As always a great episode, the link to mine is http://sacred.kkotd.com If you are looking for tons of them (quite a few from AIE ^_^) you can check out http://wowwiki.com/podcast They are trying to clean it up from all the inactive casts but it can take around 12 hours of your life to listen to them all. I have to say you guys are one of my faves, so please please please keep it up! Thanks, Dave aka Theranos (Fur an oes like in toes) Most people can't pronounce my name ^_^ BTW: Alt story, we took all of our bank alts out to Silithus one day, then as we hit Silithus we told everyone to hit the / key to walk. We said you could take any path but you had to keep walking! The first one to Southshore won 1000G for whatever they wanted... We started with around 20 people and ended with around 4 people two and a half hours later... O by the way we forgot to lay down the rule of no Flight Paths but as most of these alts had never left Ironforge, they only had 1 or 2 flight points so it still worked out. That has to be one of my most fun, alt related activity! I am looking for screenshots but I think most of the people have left the guild that took them so *_*... O well I will post screenshots for the Night Elf thing once we do it ^_^... Also FOR THE ALLIANCE RARGH! This week I have a great addon for saving space and clearing clutter from around your minimap. Have you ever wondered why there is so many buttons around your minimap? Minimap Button Frame takes all of those buttons and then shows only one button around your minimap. When you click on this button it opens a frame showing all of the other buttons that were around your frame originally. One great advantage I have found is that it is supported both by titan panel and Fubar. Here is the link I recommend downloading it from: http://www.wowinterface.com/downloads/info7929-MinimapButtonFrame.html On another note I finally bit the bullet and created the stereotype night elf hunter this past week. What I enjoy most about my hunter is probably my pet. My 22 hunter has a boar named porkchop :) The name was suggested by one of my friends in my guild. So if you are on the US Lothar Server and see a night elf hunter running around with their trusty companion porkchop don't hesitate to say hey. -------------------------- Thayloo- 70 Mage Triaa- 70 Warlock If anyone has any questions about mods or anything pertaining to them you can email me at wowwarlock2@gmail.com
