Season 7 continues as our 233rd episode of big T & LIL t! Today, and we are discussing Star Wars Animated Characters that we want to see on the big screen. We are starting our Road to Maul. Yes, Maul was on the big screen but he got some legs and really shined in Clone Wars and Rebels. We want to see what characters would do well on the big screen. It is Star Wars Podcast Day. It is the anniversary of Jedi Talk, the 1st ever Star Wars Podcast, which premiered on February 7th, 1999. Thank you so much for Danielle putting this together. Check out all the fun Star Wars podcasts that participated. We pitch what we would say to Dave Filoni on our movie idea. Super Bowl was boring Oh yea, we are pro Super Bowl spot of The Mandalorian and Grogue. Happy Valentine's Day to all you star-crossed lovers! May your love fill the galaxy! Oh yea, our guest last week J*K3R made a song for the show, go give it a listen! big T & LIL T
For some fans of (American) Football, the Super Bowl is a major event. For some others, it's a chance to watch some unique commercials and movie trailer. For many, it's all about the HALFTIME SHOW! Needless to say, we're not the biggest fans of Football (or sports for that matter), but this Super Bowl held a bigger promise for us: a Big Game Spot for THE MANDALORIAN AND GROGU, and a Halftime Show featuring Puerto Rican megastar BAD BUNNY!Some Star Wars and Puerto Rican culture, what could go wrong? With THE MANDALORIAN AND GROGU release date only 3 months away, and it being the first Star Wars theatrical release since 2019, it seems that the marketing blitz for this film is...bizarre? Despite the Tauntauns, the hype for this film is somewhat lacking and we discuss all of it!In other Super Bowl news, after BAD BUNNY's show, the event is now called the BENITO BOWL. This performance was one of joy, love, and celebration of Puerto Rican and Latin culture, and as a Puerto Ricans this show was really transcendent and emotional. We discuss our reactions to this performance and the political connotations (and reactions) it presented. P FKN R!The only thing more power than hate is LOVE.We're releasing this episode as part of the Star Wars Podcast Day 2026 celebration! This event commemorates the (27th) anniversary of Jedi Talk, the very first Star Wars related podcast which premiered back on February 7, 1999. For Star Wars Podcast Day 2026 we watch the videos from the opening of Star Tours in 1987. This is a bad flashback episode, and a lot of fun to see what it was like back in the '80s. This episode would be best watched on YouTube, so check it out here. https://youtube.com/live/rd72pVD8SuE?feature=share Learn more about your ad choices. Visit megaphone.fm/adchoices

Star Wars Podcast Day 2026 is here, and we're celebrating the legacy of Star Wars podcasting the best way we know how, by just talking Star Wars. Every year on February 7th, Star Wars podcasters across the galaxy honor the very first Star Wars podcast, Jedi Talk, which launched in 1999 and helped ignite the Star Wars podcast community we know today. For this special Star Wars Podcast Day episode, Darth Moocher and Scott Solo turned on the cameras and had an unscripted, relaxed conversation—like meeting up for coffee and talking about life, creativity, fandom, and how Star Wars exists far beyond the movies and TV shows. In this episode, we talk about: *What Star Wars means outside the films *Living Star Wars in everyday life *The power of Star Wars fandom and community *Creativity, collecting, podcasting, and connection *Why Star Wars Podcast Day still matters Whether you're a longtime Star Wars fan, a podcaster, a creator, or someone who simply loves the galaxy far, far away—this episode is for you. Happy Star Wars Podcast Day 2026, and thank you to every podcaster and fan who keeps the Force alive. May the Force be with you—always. Hey there fellow travelers of the Jundland Wastes! It's Star Wars Podcast Day 2026 and we are thrilled to be part of this world wide Star Wars podcasting celebration. Welcome to the podcast if this is the first time you are checking us out and welcome back to our loyal travelers! Check out what we have in store for 2026! Have a great Star Wars Podcasting Day!
It's Star Wars Podcast Day 2026, and we're bringing the Star Wars community a very special episode with a new "What If" scenario. This time we're asking: What if Anakin had told Obi-Wan, instead of Mace Windu, that Palpatine was a Sith? What would have happened? Assuming Obi-Wan was not on Utapau and was instead on Coruscant at the time, what would the outcome have been? Would anything be different, or would it have remained the same? We propose many scenarios throughout this episode, but we also want to hear from you - what do YOU think would have happened? Was Anakin too far gone? Would Obi-Wan have died instead of Mace, and thus changed the entire course of Luke and Leia's futures? There's so much to ponder, and what better occasion than Star Wars Podcast Day to muse it over? (And of course we want to give a special thanks to our amazing patrons for providing the idea for this episode!) I break down why Star Wars stays rooted in the Skywalker era, how comfort and planning factor in, and what it will take for the franchise to finally move forward or backward in time.

Once again we are celebrating the beginnings of podcasting for a galaxy far, far away. It's #StarWarsPodcastDay2026 and this year, This is the Way Podcast is talking about the leadership change at Lucasfilm.February 7th, 2026 marks the sixth anniversary for #SWPD, but it was 27 years ago when Jedi Talk began "audio blogging" with an internet radio show called Jedi Talk. Daniel C of Star Wars, Now This is Podcasting has been researching the beginnings of Star Wars podcasting and even though the first RSS fed shows didn't come out until later and the term "podcast" wasn't en vogue years after that, our research agrees that Jedi Talk seems to be the first to mass distribute their Star Wars centered show, thanks to internet hosting. As for This is the Way Podcast, we're at six years and counting and 213 episodes as of this special edition. This is still a mostly audio only version of a podcast, but as time has allowed, graphics and perhaps someday video will be added. If #SWPD2026 has brought you here for the first time, we hope you'll check out more episodes. Send feedback by the email address mentioned during the podcast or interact via X, Instagram, or Facebook @ThisistheWayPod. There are many podcasts out there releasing special episodes today and you can find them by visiting the celebration Instagram page @starwarspodday or on X or the Facebook page for the #starwarspodcastday2026 event. May the Force be with us always!

Get ready to jump into the escape pod for a stellar celebration! In this high-energy episode of the Star Wars Escape Pod, hosts Josh, Blake, and Bryce ring in Star Wars Podcast Day 2026. Joining the crew is the brilliant Dr. Steve Ellerhoff, author of Jung and Star Wars: A Contemporary Mythology, who brings a wonderful perspective as we look at the mythology from a Jung lens. From the nostalgic "artifact" of old Star Wars Insider advertisements and the rising cost of lightsaber collectibles to a mind-bending analysis of Darth Vader as a "shadow figure" and his "golden" connection to C-3PO, this episode blends fan-fueled fun with profound insights. Whether you're here for the "another happy landing" vibes or a Master's class in Jungian archetypes, this is an episode you won't want to abandon ship on! This is the Way Podcast hopes your 2026 started off just the way you wanted. It's going to be an interesting year for Star Wars, but the calendar isn't full, by any measure. There is a new show debuting in April, a movie release a month later, and May the Fourth usually has some surprises. No "Star Wars Celebration" this year, even with The Mandalorian and Grogu coming, but Starfighter got a surprise "Cruise" member before wrapping up principal photography.Star Wars gamers will have to wait for new games, but there's an "old" one coming to the XBOX game pass. Hasbro listed three figures and a helmet this month and it might be smart to look up LEGO's newest offerings in the Star Wars category. Just make sure you go over the details brick by SMART brick before you make a purchase. There's Ahsoka news and maybe more awards for Andor and Disney parks is putting some original touches on Galaxy's Edge that could put a spark of rebellion back in Batuu. This is the Way Podcast will be participating once again in the annual Star Wars Podcast Day on February 7th of 2026. It's self-described as an annual, unofficial celebration of the Star Wars fan audio community. Each year, more and more podcasts and vodcasts join in for #StarWarsPodcastDay and #SWPD2026 will be the 6th year This is the Way Podcast releases an episode to take part!Feel free to take part in contributing ideas and commenting on our podcasts on YouTube, on Spotify, on Facebook, through Amazon's podcast portal, or even on Discord. Today, we celebrate the 26th anniversary of the very first Star Wars podcast: Jedi Talk, which premiered in 1999. .
